  1. Hello BZPower users, This is my first post and i wanted to put my Moc's on here.[My Own Creation(s)] I have been looking for a Mocing forum on BZPower but can't seem to find one so i decided to put it here. I have never gone on a forum or anything like this so here it goes!!! My self-Moc My self-moc is called neox and is a Toa of Ingenuity(inventions) and is of the element of engineering. He has two daggers that he uses to control metal or synthetic objects. Once he has gathered enough material to create something he can then emite an orb of energy that he can use to mold the material until he has his finished product. He can build what ever he wants or can to solve a problem. he also has an Advanced Lightstone Rifle, one of his best inventions to vapourize any being of shadow that is weaker than a makuta. it taked 20 seconds to reload and is quite heavy but it does some considerable amount of damage to other beings. Neox was formerly a Ru matoran (matoran of rust)
  2. And now it's over. Great friends. Great times. More details later. -CF
  3. Ekimu the Mask Maker My take on both forms of Ekimu the Mask Maker, a coveted character of G2 Bionicle lore. Okotan form Click to show Ekimu's normal size. This model is designed with his appearance in the 2015 webisodes in mind, with no gearbox so as to be in-keeping with the style of building used with the Protectors, and also to mimic his character model in BIONICLE: Mask of Creation. Pose, Hammer raised Front Back Pose, Attacking with burial mask Pose, Blocking with shield Skeleton, Shoulder build Toa Form Click to show This model is my take on the upcoming Ekimu set for 2016, which is designed to negate the factors of the set's design that I am displeased with (the stud shooter-less hammer, the overuse of trans. light blue and the use of the 2016 Toa torso shell). Both faces of his hammer can be fired independently, and the hammer's head rotates at the base. The hammer is also intended to either be held in both of Ekimu's hands for sideways swinging, or just the one so it can be swung up and down. Pose Front Back Front, in burial mask Pose, Hammer raised Detail, Ammo reel Detail, Gearbox Skeleton, Upper body Skeleton, Hammer
  4. So,these are the first MOCs I have ever posted online! Behold, the Toa Enta! A team of 4 Toa I have created! None of the Toa have actual names yet, so I decided I would let you guys suggest names for them, then I'll select the names I like best! We have a Toa of Fire, a Toa of Earth, a Toa of Ice (which is female, BTW), and a Toa of Air. I have also included photos of the inner skeleton layout I used for all of them, though it's specifically the Toa of Fire's skeleton. Though in this case, when you've seen one, you've seen them all. Enjoy! https://drive.google.com/folder/d/0BycB5w2J9DCsLWxoNE1md1VmMFU/edit
  5. Creatures of Okoto (...Preview.) I'm moving pretty soon, and starting to work, and having to leave some stuff behind, and probably taking a little hiatus from Bionicle, at least to some degree. I'll still log on here and do This Month in Bionicle, but MOCs will probably be difficult, so Creatures of Okoto is being postponed. But, since I have a handful of combiners already, I'm going to share what I've got, rather than just sitting on them. So, these are all made with the 2016 sets, and all of them have instructions (which have been put together similar to LEGO's official instructions, in the form of PDF booklets). Here are some pointers I've been following to enhance the quality of these, compared to my previous combiners: -Use more parts. The alternates (made with just one set) use 80-90 percent of the pieces, at least. Combiners with two or more sets use at least 75 percent, in general. -Higher standards. For each MOC I include, there are one or two that didn't make the cut. -More photos. The topic will have one photo per MOC, but the video will show them off from different angles. So without further ado, here are my Creatures of Okoto! (Bear in mind that, as a WiP, some of these have makeshift backgrounds, or no backgrounds at all.) Region of Jungle Crystal Swamp Mite - Small insect found the the swamps. Built with Uxar, Creature of Jungle. Swamp Gorgat - Large, camouflaged Creature which disguises itself as swamp-plants by stooping into the murky waters. Built with Umarak and Uxar. Jungle Strider - Nimble and prone to fighting, but not very good at it. Built with Lewa, Uniter of Jungle. Jungle Mammoth - Large and hostile, with powerful tusks. Built with Umarak, the Hunter. Region of Ice Snow Runner - Small, swift Creature, able to evade any foe. Built with Melum, Creature of Ice. Snow Bunny - Large and generally friendly, but capable of defending itself. Built with Kopaka, Uniter of Ice. Ice Crusher - Massive, intelligent, territorial, and very mean. Built with Kopaka and Gali. Region of Water Coral Stalker - Generally passive, large Creatures which prowl among colorful coral reefs. Built with Gali and Lewa. Reef Spider - Common, simple Creatures which have little means of self-defense, but attract little attention. Built with Gali, Uniter of Water. Gaboo - Somewhat large, stupid Creatures which harass the villagers, both above the water and under the sea. Also, stay tuned for Music of Okoto: Songs of the Villagers. I'll be posting the topic tomorrow morning!
  6. I've been building some Creatures with the new sets for my next combiner series, and here's an alternate for Melum...that I can't finish. Isn't it such a cute little snow turtle thing? There aren't any good parts left for a head. Poor adorable little snow critter doesn't get to be in the project.

    One year of MOCs

I've been busy as a Bohrok this year in my MOC building, so here's a little review of everything I made in 2015. Life is starting to speed up through January and February, so I don't know how active I can be in 2016, but I'll still be here on BZP. I know I couldn't live with myself if I faded away from the Bionicle reboot. Speaking of which, I'll be heading to the store soon, since the local Target supposedly has some 2016 Bionicle sets in stock. Time to spend that Christmas money.
  8. Today, Black Six distributed the digital perks from the 2015 BrickFair Convention Circuit, which officially concludes the circuit (for me, anyway). I sent in three MOCs: ...and had them returned a little early, because I thought my return address might change. (It didn't.) Inside the package, along with the MOCs themselves, I got a few goodies: - Noble Ruru (Black) - Brain Attack polybag - Sealed Turaga Vakama polybag (awesome!) I also chose "Rahi Wrangler" as my member title. Since it has a nice ring to it, and I like to build Rahi. This was my first time participating in the convention circuit, and I'm really glad I did! BZP's gifts kicked butt, and it was just really cool to have some MOCs on display throughout the States, and to help contribute to Bionicle's presence at the events. It's definitely something I'll be participating in again in the future.
  9. Hello everyone! I'm in the process of creating a new character for the traditional BIONICLE story. He's a heavily armed lone warrior who has made it his personal mission to wipe out the Dark Hunters all by himself (for reasons I haven't quite thought of yet). But my biggest problem in coming up with this character is a name. I don't want to give him a proper name, rather a code name instead. Things like: * Dark Hunter Killer * Dark Predator * Dark Nightmare * Dark Vengeance * Dark Killer And you get the idea of that. I need help in coming up with a name. Can you help me? I'd show you the rendered images of him, but I can't upload it directly to this post.
  10. I have no direct idea how to create awesome MOCs. I do have some that I think are awesome, but don't have the best balance in the world.Plus, they are made often by random parts I can find, and then changing a bionicle set, mainly by changing the weapons and mask.Mainly I get some of the toa Inika and change the head and mask, with some additional armor. Also, you can see what set it came from.Firuka came from the set Toa Jaller, from the bionicle Inika series. Then I added bionicle stars Tahu into the set. I did add additional upgrades, but you can still see that he still has some of Jaller's parts.I did remove some of Jaller's parts, though. See how I replaced Jaller's gold chestplate with a gray one? Gold looks a little too flashy on Firuka... I like Firuka's double sided flame sword the best... So, I ask you guys again... HOW DO YOU MAKE AWESOME MOCS? Now, I pay my respects, and end this message- NOW...
  11. Greetings, everyone! Today, I bring you an array of characters from Corpus Rahkshi, GMed by I Am Ultron Six over in Bionicle RPG. If you're not familiar with it, the premise is that some Kraata have begun to exhibit Matoran-level sapience. In response, the Makuta put them in a school known as Corpus Rahkshi to study them, and if possible, train them as the Brotherhood's elite force. It's great fun. I've posted a few of these in the discussion topic before, but I've also got some revamps to show, and I decided it was probably time for a dedicated topic. (I do hope no one minds that I represent their character here; if anyone does, PM me and I'll remove them.) But enough exposition, you all want to see the MoCs! * * * With Staff | Jayar, played by Johnrahk | With Book My first and primary Rahkshi, Jayar is a noble warrior and secret poet Rahkshi of Quick Healing. He values learning and knowledge equally to fighting prowess. Noting numerous Rahkshi with abilities which impaired sight, he decided it would be profitable to learn to fight blind, and enlisted Hoto as his teacher. She soon became a friend, and not long ago surpassed even that. * * * Hoto, played by Click | Running Obviously I must demonstrate Hoto next. Hoto is blind, but she makes up for it with her level 4 dodge powers and clickers in her joints, which when moved provide sound she can use for echolocation. She loves running, as moving faster allows her to 'see' more clearly. Extremely gentle, she grows considerably distressed if she hurts anyone, especially her numerous friends, including Kat, Era, Fang, and Jayar. * * * Vaalku, played by ghidora131 Of perpetually enigmatic personality, Vaalku sometimes annoys his fellow students with spontaneous barrages of unmerited insults or sympathies. But not enough for them to take his leg and arm, that was done by vengeful Matoran with net launchers. * * * Toxin, played by ArcticFreeze17 | On Ice Toxin's weapons and battle style have a samurai/ninja flavor to them. He's one of Arctic's triplet Trinity Brothers, the other two being Stronghold and Bullseye (who has his own MoC here further down). The 'on ice' picture depicts him after an unfortunate tangle with several Matoran which resulted in his body being turned half to ice by Freeze and Reconstitutes at Random disks in conjunction. Yeah, these Matoran are not to be trifled with. * * * Axes | Omega, previously played by SharkyDane | Goodbye Omega used to be a violent but good-natured Rahk who enjoyed fighting immensely. When he allied with two opposing factions, he felt himself a traitor to each, unknowing how valued he was by his few friends, like Fang and Kat. Before he had the chance to resolve these feelings, though, he picked a fight with his rival Exxan - a fight which ended his life. The 'Goodbye' picture features a quote from Fang, during Omega's funeral. * * * Caoutchouc, played by Tiragath | He's Stretchy While not the brightest of the Academy's students, Cao is a top contender for the best fighter. He practices martial arts avidly (assisted by his Elasticity powers), and his prowess has paved the way for him to be one of the first batch of level 4 Kraata in the school. A believer in honor, especially honorable combat. He carries a sword named Faithful, which is enchanted to return to him when thrown, hence the boomerang shape. * * * Shark, played by Johnrahk With his incredible memory and endless vigilance, Shark constantly prepares himself to carry out his life goal: end the lives of as many other beings as possible. Between his brilliant mind and his brute strength, he's a formidable opponent; already he's managed to end the life of one Rahk, and he's dead set on repeating the feat as many times as possible. * * * Kat, played by Chumpu Confident and responsible, Catatonic goes by her full name in serious situations, but a more casual Kat among her friends. A team player, she does what she can to help her fellow students improve themselves, and would never ask anyone to do something she would be unwilling to do herself. * * * Fang, played by Click Fang is quick to anger, and as a Rahkshi of Plasma his fury is often literally blazing. But nevertheless, he adheres fervently to his moral code, and will devote himself to defending those who cannot defend themselves. The school and everything it stands for infuriate him, but despite his solitary inclinations, he has managed to find a few close friends among the student body, especially Kat. * * * Short, played by Toa of Dancing Don't let Short's small stature fool you; by strategically her slowness powers and miniscule size, she's capable of defeating much larger opponents (even Shark once). She has a short complex and, while slow of speech, is also rather loud, a trait exacerbated by her intense Southern US accent. * * * Era, played by Roman Torchwick Like her close friend Hoto, Era is blind, and her faceplate lacks eyeholes, making her look somewhat eerie. She used to feel a need to prove herself to those gifted with vision, but as one of the first level fours, she's pretty much done so. Even so, she remains proud and stubborn, preferring not to ask for or accept help. * * * Bullseye, played by ArcticFreeze17 Bullseye is friendly to more or less everyone. He's also a self-made hunter and survivalist, capable of creating jerky from whatever sort of Rahi you care to supply him with. Eternally upon his head rests a cowboy hat. * * * Vlad, played by Johnrahk | Generic Action Pose For humans, who live in light, vampires are creatures of darkness. But if Rahkshi live in darkness, does that mean their vampires thrive on light? It does in Vlad's case. A Rahkshi of Hunger, Vlad speaks with a Transylvanian accent and constantly fights off urges to sink his fangs into other students' Kraata. He wields the double-dagger Avenger, which is capable of releasing bursts of blinding light and returning to him when thrown. He also wears a cape with lightstones woven into it called the Cloak of Umbra (in-game, at least, not in this MoC). * * * For when it's public, full-size (that is to say, ridiculously large) images of all these can be found in this Brickshelf folder. Anyway, there you have it: my interpretation of thirteen Corpus Rahkshi students. Whether you're a player in the RPG or you've never heard of it before, feedback and upvotes are greatly appreciated. And if you don't care to leave any, thanks nevertheless for taking a look at my work.
  12. Over on the RPG forum, I'm known as that guy who makes excessive numbers of characters for every new game that starts up, and the Bionifight Infinite RPG - where beings from all over the Bionicle multiverse are abducted into a huge fighting tournament - is no exception. I've gotten a lot of positive comments about my LDD MOCs of my characters from the other players, so I decided to create a topic and share them all here (a word of warning, the images are pretty big; my fault for not making smaller versions). ____________________________________________________________ First up, we have Xara, a favourite character of mine that I brought over from Corpus Rahkshi. A Rahkshi of Chain Lightning, she's come close to winning rounds several times in the tournament, but always seems to fall just short of victory - a source of endless frustration for her. Next we have the Dark Toa Dayeth, an alternate universe version of one of my Matoran characters from the BZPRPG. Although she's supposed to be evil, Dayeth's done little more than be a nuisance to every one and thing in the facility. My next character - The Wyrm - is from an alternate universe where the GSR died, condemning most of its denizens to a slow demise in darkness. Descended from the rahi who escaped onto the island of Mata Nui, The Wyrm had been in the middle of fighting a guerrilla war against invading Vortixx before being abducted into the tournament. The Puppetmaster is a Great Being who - after experimenting on himself - wound up with a form identical to that of a Glatorian, albeit with translucent blue skin and a severely damaged psyche. His desire to build and create is gone, replaced with an insatiable lust for destruction and control... This next character - Terry Terrix, the Tarakava Hunter - started off as a joke in the Bionifight Skype chat. Yet somehow, despite having treads for legs and his only weapons being a pair of boomerangs, he wound up winning the third round. Snarl is an energy hound who, due to being experimented on by the Order of Mata Nui, wound up with several new powers and Matoran level intelligence. The problem is, since he can't talk, most being dismiss him as a mere mindless animal. Of course, they soon learn how wrong they are.... Alisa Dare comes from a backwards universe where the Brotherhood of Makuta are the good guys, and Order of Mata Nui are a band of chaotic anarchists. A loyal servant of the Makuta, Alisa very nearly died in the process of defeating the evil Toa of Light, Takanuva. Where do Kaitas go when they're no longer needed? Dekako knows. Another character I carried over from Corpus Rahkshi, Dekako was left to be forgotten after her component beings decided to refrain from forming Kaitas. Through sheer force of will, she found a way to manifest herself on the corporeal plane, thus becoming a living being in her own right, no longer dependent on the actions of others in order to exist. The reformation of Spherus Magna allowed the forests of Bota Magna to be explored for the first time in thousands of years. Among these explorers was the Glatorian Falcon, who rescued and raised a young wyvern named Vyne to help him with his primary occupation: hunting. Finally, we have the renowned pirate Captain Miril from the so-called Halkenverse. A newcomer to the tournament, she's seen broadcasts of previous iterations of the game, and - being a huge fan - is honoured to have been selected for this one.

    The Flash!

Remember how last summer I was seeking to get a hold of a red Kakama, and someone (Danny?) came through and helped me out at BrickFair? Well, here's why I had to have that mask: I had to. Just for the pun utilizing the mask. Sure, you can nitpick over the dark red parts or the red feet, but I had fun building him. He'll be debuting at Bricks Cascade this weekend as part of the Super Hero theme. More pictures can be found on my BrickShelf. With any luck, I'll be inspired to build a whole superhero team! BZPower Topic! -CF
  14. I built a Toa team back in 2008. They've appeared at BrickFair many times since then, but I never posted them because I always wanted to do something more with them. Enough procrastinating though, I'm not solid on some of these names and don't have backstories for half, but I like what I've built (though will probably experiment with CCBS shells, especially with the Water Toa's torso). I've put pictures on BrickShelf and Flickr. The team itself is composed on six Toa who were the last surviving members of their respective teams. They've banded together with a new destiny as a new team. My goal while building was to give them some similar characteristics (due to my building preferences), but make them all different given their origins. I gave them all Rahkshi legs and Mata feet since those are my favorite, but after that anything was fair game. Lekia, Toa of Air, nimble and wielding a boomerang. Korou, Toa of Earth, inspired by other diggers. (Rahkshi legs on the arms here instead, but those are arguably more powerful on Onu-Toa.) Kapiro, Toa of Fire: Kapiro likes to make a solid flame sword and, when necessary, spirals of fire. (His mask of telekinesis helps with this.) He has also forged his own backup blade (just in case). Koji, Toa of Ice: Koji fought to his last breath--before being wrapped in a cocoon of ice. While the rest of his team fell while defending their home island from an invasion, he released a nova blast of ice, first drawing in the cold to make the surrounding area molten hot, and then releasing a wave of ice that enveloped the whole island, stopped his enemies, and encasing him for a millennium in ice. When he finally thawed and emerged on a new island, where he would meet his new team, the ice had become a part of him and his armor. Roxoro, Toa of Stone, as tough as they get. Makoa, Toa of Water Makoa is only partially healed from being infected with Visorak venom. While she was able to get the cure before being permanently transformed into a Hordika, the rest of her team was not so lucky, and she still has flecks of her Hordika side in her armor and mentality. A fin resides on her back and blades on her arms, along with her "shark's tooth" stinger. Furthermore, she has a bit of a taste-for-blood temper, which is especially present when moving through the water. (This was my first attempt at a movable waist, but I need to implement it better.) I realize since these MOCs are 6+ years old, CC for something where my skills have changed is a moot point ("It seemed good at the time"). But I don't mind small tidbits anyway. Mostly I just wanted to finally post these officially, before I change them. (I might also dismantle a few to make way for new MOCs. "Kill your darlings" and all that.) And a reminder, I've put pictures on BrickShelf and Flickr. -CF
  15. Two of my BIONICLE 2015 set reviews for The New Elementary have now been posted, with a third still forthcoming. I received six BIONICLE sets from the LEGO Group to review for that site: three Toa and three Protectors. Check out my review of 70788 Kopaka - Master of Ice right here! Check out my review of 70784 Lewa - Master of Jungle and 70786 Gali - Master of Water here! And finally, because I was lucky enough to receive these three particular Toa, you can see my attempt at building a 2015 version of Toa Kaita Wairuha right here! What's more, I recently finished writing an article on the BIONICLE theme's triumphant review for Blocks, a British-based magazine for the LEGO fan community! I believe it will be appearing in the January 2015 issue of the magazine. I am thrilled to have had this opportunity to own, build, and play with these new BIONICLE sets, and for the opportunity to share that experience with the LEGO fan community! My hope is that the articles I've been writing will not only inform BIONICLE fans about the new sets, but also perhaps educate other LEGO fans about just what it is that makes the BIONICLE theme and its return such a big deal for so many people.
  16. So basically I'm looking for honest/harsh feedback.I want to improve as a MOCist and the best way to do that is to find out what I'm doing wrong but also find out what I'm doing right. Heres 3 of the mocs-http://imgur.com/a/2X1l7 The 4th one's here-http://i.imgur.com/IwUN8yi.jpg They have different links cause I took one of the pictures today and couldn't add it to the folder. *I can get higher quailty/clearer pictures tommorow if you need them.
  17. First up is Ezleon. He started out when I was fooling around with parts, and noticed that the Inika chest armor make an awesome spine. Axe Pose 1 Pose 2 Pose 3 Pose 4 Pose 5 Back Back 2 Back 3 Face Foot Side Top-Down His description is associated with another entry in this topic, Serinak. Once known as the warrior of triumph, Ezleon became evil after an encounter with Serinak, the Makuta of Terror. Their battle lasted a decade, during which Ezleon became disfigured. He lost focus as spikesprotruded from his back, and his face became elongated and devoid of cause. The battle was over when Ezleon looked down upon his hands, and forgot why he was fighting. His memory gone, the warrior joined Serinak. The Makuta of Terror, impressed by his incredible persistence, made Ezleon his sidekick. In days gone by, Ezleon was a seasoned smith. He created weapons and armor, until one day he realized that he had a destiny: to craft a legendary weapon, and use it to defeat Serinak. It took years to perfect, but after several failed attempts, Ezleon crafted the legendary Battleaxe of Victory, imbued with the power to defeat the Makuta. Ezleon is considered a most disgraceful enemy, because he wears noble armor and uses a legendary weapon for evil. ---------- Next up is Gragbaw. I wanted him to be white/grey, with trans-medium-blue along the top. Gelu's helmet is supposed to act as a beard and mouth, though I'm not sure how obvious that is. Face Face Side Face Banner Holding Staff Nonchalant Still working on a description, but he is a derranged ancient beast that hides in the caves of Ko-Koto (is that what it's called?), and hasn't been witnessed for centuries. Many believe he is a myth. ---------- Thirdly, Serinak. Serinak is the Makuta of Terror. His claws were inspired by Chirox's weapons. I wanted something that was really long, making his arms look like low-hanging fingers. Pose 1 Pose 2 Pose 3 Claws Side Chest Face Face Side Leg Legs He lives to convert and recruit. Through extended battles, Serinak terrorizes his victims with the goal of turning them evil. An encounter with the Makuta of Terror only ends when his victim breaks; there is absolutely no escape. The wings on his back serve only to intimidate, and his claws are not for killing. Upon looking into his eyes, Serinak's victims become entrapped by the power of his terror, encaged in their fear. Serinak is also renowned for his bellowing roar, and the fear it invokes. Avoid him at all costs, for once you see his face, it is already over. ---------- Finally, Cassidin. Cassidin is the only set that uses parts from old MoCs - his shield, chestplate and head were built about a year ago. And yes, his name is shamelessly stolen from LoL. Pose 1Pose 2Pose 3BackSideFaceShieldAxe Cassidin is a heavily-armored enforcer. He carries out orders that are considered too lethal for others. Although he carries an outstanding chestplate, hefty shield, and powerful axe, Cassidin prefers to take to the shadows, engaging with surprise attacks or slipping in and out unnoticed. He has particularly excelent vision, and is renowned for silently watching the scene before carrying out his orders. ---------- I've been having a ton of fun building for the competition, hopefully you guys enjoy my MoCs!
  18. Here are some of my favorite MOCs, mini sets based on the light cycles and Recognizer from 1982's TRON and its 2010 sequel TRON: Legacy. Enter the Grid (the contraption at the bottom is a rack for the light cycles) The cycles are, in order, the ones piloted by: Kevin Flynn, Tron, Ram, Sark, Sam Flynn, Clu, and Rinzler, with the eighth one being the "vintage" cycle. I actually had a hard time finding all the parts for these. Some of the cheese slopes and colored 1x1's were quite rare and only available now on Bricklink.
  19. [Flickr Gallery] Pilot : Joanne Vasquez Based on the OZ-16MS frame, the Heartbreaker unit is designed for long-range combat and scouting missions in deep space. While lacking the active camouflage of most stealth units, the Heartbreaker is outfitted with tech to reduce the thermal emissions, rendering it very difficult to detect on most radar and scanning equipment. The two smaller eyes are, while more compact, the standard GUNDAM optic system. The third pod is a prototype triangulation module hard-linked to the sniper rifle. This allows for precision accuracy at distances previously unreachable by other armor systems. It also is able to identify other suits, ships and armors out of combat range, making the suit unparalleled in scouting operations. The Mobile suit is also equipped with twin beam sabers on the backpack. The sabers allow the suit to have a backup close quarters solution as the armor is quite a bit lower grade than most suits of equivalent size. What the suit lacks in defensive capabilities, however, it makes up for with speed and agility. The Unit boasts twin booster packs with stabilizers attached to the Twin Saber backpack. An additional center thruster also allows for silent maneuvering while scouting to reduce the thermal footprint. Anyway, enough loser nerd specs. Credit to Micah for his inspiration and help with my entry, and to Rob for just being the lovable guy he is. My Gundam was designed to exist "in-canon" with Micah's OZ-16MS Cronius. I'm not pleased at all with the over-used hand design, but it's the one thing that works thematically and structurally. Sure hope you guys aren't tired of Gundams yet!!!
  20. See Images here -> http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=546119 Ladies and gentlemen, Matoran and agori, Toa and Glatorian, I am here to present my Toa Tuyet MOC. It took me about an hour to build her, and I'm particularly proud of her mask, the mask of intangibility. For those of you who dont know, Tuyet was a former Toa Mangai that betrayed her team for the nui stone (which is the yellow thing in her hand). This is my first moc shown publicly, and my first topic made on Bzp. I hope you like it and I will attempt to make more image less Bionicle characters.

  22. A new collaborative display appeared at BrickFair VA 2012: The Pharaoh's Labyrinth! Led by a WAMALUG member, this display drew its inspiration from Indiana Jones and The Mummy (among other things I'm sure) as explorers led an adventure into the newly uncovered pyramid entrance that led them to a pharaoh's tomb, but not without first testing them with and endless amount of perils as they wound through the Pharaoh's Labyrinth! I brought a small addition to last year's display, Pharaoh's Scuba Tank, but I'm working on some more additions for this year. Take a gander: Wrong destination! Lined up with another section. A work in progress, this large 32x32 stud display has since been filled up with tiles along the floor and will house something larger than minifig baddies for our fearless explorers when it goes to a smaller display in a few weeks! I have even bigger plans for this portion come BrickFair in August. Everything lined up at a LUG meeting yesterday. Between this and a few other ideas, I'll be working on, and bringing, quite a few new MOCs to BrickFair this year! -CF
  23. I didn't know where else to put this, so lets go. Not sure if this is allowed but here it is. Moderators correct me if I am wrong about posting this. Here you can share how use use pieces in every way that they are not usually used for. Be it Rahkshi heads for shoulder pads, certain pieces of armor for masks, anything! Of course, keep it appropriate and follow the forum rules.
  24. If you've mailed me MOCs (or art) for BrickFair, I've mailed them back, with a prototype part! -CF

    Brickfair Plans

Hey, everypony! I know I haven't blogged in a while but I figured I ought to share what my plans are for Brickfair VA this year. Yep, my brothers and I will be going again this year, as has become a tradition. I'm a bit sad that this means I can't make it to BronyCon, which is going to be in Baltimore the very same weekend, but hopefully next year the two events will be scheduled on different weekends but BronyCon will remain near my home in Virginia. Anyway, I've already registered my MOCs for Brickfair. Most of them are Hero Factory MOCs this time around, which is nice, since last year I ended up spending so much of my time near the BIONICLE table anyway. I will be bringing Kit Martello (who has been modded somewhat since I entered her in BBCC#64), Koboldon in both his Before Mutation and After Mutation forms (who I'm now allowed to mention was a contest entry in the "Before & After Brain Attack" contest on Eurobricks forums, which is currently in voting), and my Hero Factory Canine Buddy (who has had minor cosmetic alterations for his IRL debut). Rise of the Dread Colossus, an Atlantis MOC which Lyichir and I exhibited last year, will be making a return appearance. I will also be bringing some of my LEGO-related artwork to display. It's nothing too impressive but it was well-received last year and I've gotten a couple drawings done since then. Natalie Breez, Jaller, Captain of the Guard, The Venerable Turaga Vakama, Swarm of the Century, Kai and Family, and Captain of the Guard (not to be confused with the previous Jaller drawing I mentioned). I have other LEGO art such as my MLP:FiM/Ninjago crossover drawing Welcoming Cousin Spitfire, but I do not know if I'll be exhibiting it because it is sketchier and has never been brought to any level of finality. I will, however, be bringing my drawing folder in case I want to share any of my less finished or less LEGO-related art with any other artists in attendance, just as I did last year. I'm very much looking forward to visiting the vendor area, where I hope to get some bulk Hero Factory parts like I did last year (that decision definitely paid off) and some more specific System elements I've lately found myself in need of. I'm not entirely sure what I can expect to find, but since last year there was no shortage of parts from 2011 Hero Factory sets (which I imagine the sellers may have picked up on clearance), then I hope to see an abundance of parts from 2012 Hero Factory sets and Super Heroes constraction sets this time around. Most importantly, though, I'm looking forward to spending time with people I've gotten to know online, including some of my more recent acquaintances from Brickset, Flickr, BZPower, and Eurobricks, as well as many of my older friends from BZPower like Lady Kopaka, Turakii #1 Lava Surfer, Toa Lhikan Hordika, and Omicron. Many in this latter category are friends who have not been especially active on BZPower for a long time, for one reason or another, but whom I've kept tabs with on Facebook and other sites. I'm wondering about possibly bringing my iPod and a small stereo to Brickfair. I find Brickfair is very, very often lacking in terms of music. Last year at the BIONICLE tables someone brought some music and it really livened things up. Plus, I happen to have a decent amount of LEGO music on my iPod: the BIONICLE Power Pack, all the Cryoshell songs used in BIONICLE promotions, and over two and a half hours of music from the Ninjago soundtrack. I'm not entirely settled on bringing music but I'm thinking it could be worthwhile at least on the non-public days (Thursday and Friday). If you want to find me at Brickfair, I'll most likely spend most of my time either walking the show floor or hanging out at the BIONICLE tables with the BZPower crowd. You should be able to recognize me by my badge, which will be bigger but otherwise mostly unchanged from last year. And perhaps also by my glasses and hair which are not all that different from how they appear on the sigfig in my avatar. I look forward to connecting with many people I've met online this year, and I hope we can exchange contact details so I can possibly deepen some of those relationships!
