The Cara-Ni, or Reef Deacon, is a species of violent rahi living in the reefs off the coasts of Po-Koro. No two are alike in coloration, though they are all very vibrant due to the protodermis "blood" of the Mata Nui seeping out into the reefs. All reef-dwellers that have this strange coloration are under the umbrella term "Protodermoid Anomalies". I like colors and mantis shrimp. This was bound to happen. Brickshelf Gallery

Flickr "Do you know praying mantis?""You're looking at him!"This is my entry for BBC Contest 64, clearly. I actually had to rush horrendously to finish and photograph this MOC yesterday, as it was the only day I had available to do so. Fun! However, it came together pretty well in the end, I'd say. He's more or less based off of the Sectoids from Xevoz (if you understand what that means, I salute you), with a color scheme inspired by the insect aliens from Galaxy Squad. ~B~

Front Front Angle Side Back Angle Back Legs Body Detail Abdomen Closed Abdomen Opened Thorax Back Thorax Front Thorax Side Arm 1 Arm 2 Arm 3 Pose 1 Pose 2 Arms Spread Head Top Head Side Head Back Stand Bye! Sorry for so many pictures, but with a large, unorthodox MOC like this it's hard to get all the details into just a few. I'm really proud of this MOC, the complex angles in the thorax in particular. I'm glad TLG made Hordika chesplates, or else this MOC wouldn't exist. I think I used all of mine getting the shapes just right! Thanks for looking, be sure to comment and tell me what you think.
