  1. There are many what if in history, what if Rome had not fallen, Hitler had been killed in WW1, and if Indiana Jones 4 did not feature aliens. We are here to discuss if Ninjago had stayed cancelled. Overall I believe this might have been beneficial to Lego in the long run. G2 might have been more successful, Chima might still be around, and there might be more original themes rather than licensed ones. Do you agree or what are your opinions.
  2. Many people have been saying how Hero Factory has been doing so much better than Bionicle. However, without actual sales reports from Lego or Lego employees to back up these claims (as far as I know), I have been very skeptical about it.I have also become very interested in Dungeons and Dragons and so, with the announcement of D&DNext, there was much talk across the blogs. One blog used Google Insights to show how Pathfinder (the competing RPG) had surpassed Dungeons and Dragons a little after 4th Edition D&D was released in Google searches. Now, while Pathfinder didn't actually start outselling D&D until this past year, it was a good indicator of what people were interested in.So, I decided to put Bionicle and Hero Factory in. The results I got are shown below.(Blue is Bionicle, Red is Hero Factory)I found this graph to be rather interesting. A few notes before I go on: Bionicle didn't dip below Hero Factory until around 2011 and HF didn't have a definite "lead" over Bionicle until the second half of 2011. That's after two waves of Hero Factory. It also doesn't really seem to show that Bionicle was dying in 2008-2009 compared to earlier years. While this only goes back to 2004, 2005 looks like it was a rather weak year, but late 2006 through early 2007 look stronger. The time TLR was released (approximately) is one of the top 3 or 4 peaks for Bionicle since 2004.Hero Factory, at least as far as Google searches indicate, has not been nearly as successful as Bionicle. That's not to say that it's been a complete flop, but it doesn't look like it is as much of a hit as Bionicle. Now this could potentially be attributed to Bionicle having a stronger fan base. I disagree. Hero Factory has had several TV series that got much more publicity than TLR did by having them premiere on TV rather than go directly to DVD.It is also worth noting that Ninjago has completely passed any levels that Bionicle or Hero Factory had, leaving them in the dust.(Blue is Bionicle, Red is Hero Factory, Yellow is Ninjago)Because we don't have actual records from Lego, I don't think it can be said that Hero Factory is more successful than Bionicle and that Bionicle was a dying franchise. These numbers seem to suggest otherwise.(Or maybe this just means that whatever Greg Farshtey works on turns out to be really successful product lines )Please correct me if I’m not reading these graphs correctly or am not aware of some announcements from Lego saying the HF is doing better than Bionicle was.Let's Keep Bionicle Alive,Lewa Krom
  3. Hi, guys. Since we read today about the descriptions about March of the Oni stuff, it sounds like that the franchise will be going to end this year. It sure sounds like it. However, I need to know what are the other nine Realms and how Zane got his Ice powers first before anything else. As much as Bionicle 2001-2010, Ninjago’s constraction counterpart, ended in nine years, the same would go to Ninjago this year. Has anyone noticed any future sets this year as well? If Ninjago is truly ending, then we would say goodbye to it. It’s been fun for these nine years. What do you think, guys?
  4. Hi, guys! You know, there will be Season 9 for the Ninjago TV show, one of our favorite Lego media, coming this summer. Now, let me ask you guys this: What are your expectations for this season? Well, for me, here’s the list: 1. Wu turning back into his original old adult form. 2. The relation between those dragon hunters and the Sons of Garmadon because they are quite similar (mainly the clammy gray skin color) 3. Skylor, P.I.X.A.L., and Nya going Avengers: Infinity War on Harumi (but letting her live). 4. The Ninja and Wu coming back to Ninjago to defeat Lord Garmadon. 5. Lord Garmadon either turned back to his original and good-hearted human form again or killed again. I mean, he has to be get rid of. He can’t be a four-armed villain forever. 6. Good character development, including on the Dragon Hunters. 7. We would learn more about the Oni and the Dragons. 8. The Ninja using the dragon to easily defeat the dragon hunters. 9. We would learn about the Sons of Garmadon and the dragon hunters. 10. A crossover between Ninjago and Nexo Knights. I would like to see a bunch of things from there: I would imagine when the Ninja from Ninjago would get out of a realm called the Realm of the Oni and Dragons, they would accidentally end up in the Nexo Knights’ world to meet the Nexo Knights. The Ninja would ask the Knights for help to bring them back to the land of Ninjago and fight against Lord Garmadon (Madagascar movies, anyone?). The Nexo Knights would either go to help the Ninja fight Garmadon Thor-Ragnarok-in-2017 style or Avengers-Infinity-War-in-this-year style (I mean, the Ninja would need more help than what they have) or they would just give the Ninja new weapons. I would love to see the Nexo Knights’ world being one of the 16 Realms parellel to Ninjago because of the evidence in the past. I would also love a scene where the Ninja crash-land on the Knights’ Fortrex, the Knights notice this and then help the Ninja feel better from the crash, the Ninja and Knights relating their problems with each other’s, like how they suffer corrupted parents (it would be like Thor from A: IW meeting the Guardians of the Galaxy after he hit their ship by accident), Wu and Merlok being the best of friends, the Ninja probably go to help the Knights with their problems first (which means fighting Monstrox, Ruina Stoneheart, and their army of techno-virus monsters), Merlok having known the First Spinjitzu Master to be his close friend, Monstrox revealed being a being with the blood of the Oni from Ninjago and/or there’s a carving in NK’s world that tells about the Oni and the Dragon (not sure, but yeah), the two teams of heroes having funny moments together, and Merlok creating a portal to have the Ninja and Knights go to Ninjago to work together to fight and defeat Garmadon (maybe get help from Animal Tribes from Legends of Chima as well on this one. Plus, I would like to imagine certain things, like Kai and Lance talking about their narcissism together, Cole and Axl being best super-strong buds, Karlof saying to Axl that he has nice metal gloves, Kai telling Macy that she reminds him of Skylor, Cole and Clay being magical buds, Zane and Aaron being archer buds, the Ninja telling Robin that he reminds them of Lloyd, Macy and Nya talking about having blue boyfriends, Wu and Merlok working together, the Ninja and Knights do teamwork combo attacks on Garmadon and his forces, Merlok making new Nexo Powers based off the Ninja’s abilities, etc.). This whole thing would take up two Ninjago episodes. Good stuff. There’s gotta be a reason why there isn’t a Season 5 for the Nexo Knights TV show (I don’t like how Lego is acting strange and ridiculous this decade for how it tells most of its original stories. I do not want Nexo Knights to end up like Bionicle G1). I think this would be a good alternative to end the Nexo Knights show’s story. So yeah. These are my expectations. What about yours?
  5. Ninjago's been around for over seven years now and I'm curious how people feel about how its quality has held up over the years. Have the sets and story gotten better, worse, or stayed about the same? Overall, I feel that Ninjago started strong and has generally gotten stronger. It's true that there are a few sets from early in the theme's run that still feel outstanding, like 9441 and 2507. But I also feel like the sets have gotten much more detailed and refined. This is most obvious with sets that are specific redesigns of earlier ones, like 70738 versus 9446 or 70595 versus 9449, but also apparent with a lot of other sets like 70596, 70627, and the ninja vehicles from the movie. And while some of the most memorable moments of the show for me are still early ones like Zane discovering his true nature as a Nindroid, the characters have certainly developed a lot since then. Nya in particular has gone from a sort of generic action girl (highly capable but still relegated to the role of supporting character) to a full member of the team with her own personal challenges to overcome and a deeper connection to her teammates. And Lloyd has evolved from a sort of a wannabe ninja to the emotional center of the team and sometimes even its de facto leader. But I'm curious to hear what everybody else thinks!
  6. Well, the title kinda sums it up. Who is your favorite ninja? I left an "other" box for characters who aren't really part of the main ninja team like Dareth, Skylor, Seliel, and Lil' Nelson. After you vote in the poll I'd love if you'd leave a comment explaining what it is about your choice that appeals most to you! Mine was Zane for a long time, since as an autistic person I related a lot to his social awkwardness and analytical way of thinking. I also loved following the story of him discovering and coming to terms with his past from the 2011 chapter books onward. But around Season 5 I started to relate a lot to Nya's fear of failure spurred by years of high expectations, her independent streak, and her ongoing struggle to reconcile her romantic feelings with her growth as an individual. She became my favorite shortly thereafter. It helps that I absolutely LOVE her various costume designs, especially from season 7 onward when she finally gets a color to herself. I look forward to reading other people's choices!
  7. Hi, guys! This year, 2018, is the 5th anniversary to one of Ninjago's set waves that was released in 2013 and involved the Stone Army and The Final Battle. Let's talk about it to celebrate the anniversary. For the storyline, it is said in this topic: http://www.bzpower.com/board/topic/25753-happy-5th-anniversary-to-the-stone-army-season-2012/ . I have no idea why Lego tell the whole story in 2012 instead of 2013, but alright. Plus, I have no idea why you guys never talked about that topic at all. Now, for the sets, they look very cool. I like the Ninja's new outfits and the new crooked sword pieces that make up the Elemental Blades that the Ninja used. Lloyd looks awesome with his new Golden Ninja outfit! Kai's mech looks cool and cute. A little stubby, but good. Cole's drill vehicle looks very neat. I also love Lloyd's mech, too! Nice gold and white colors on it. Lloyd's Golden Dragon looks very cool, too. It's strange that the Ninja didn't have the shoulder pads from the show, and Lloyd's eyes are dark red. Plus, the sets should've included a normal version of Lloyd from the show. Weird. The Stone Army looks cool. They look like samurais. I like Kozu's new extra-pair-of-arms piece. The helmets are very neat, too. I like their red and black color schemes. Their vehicles are awesome, and I like their red and black color schemes and the new sword-like pieces, too. The motorcycle with the thread looks cool, and the Garmatron looks awesome. That vehicle look like that it is a face that shoots a missile from its mouth. Too bad that we don't have one that looks like a four-legged animal from the show for some reason because it also looks very cool and interesting. Plus, too bad that we don't have a set for the Overlord's dragon form. Also, it's weird that in the sets, Lord Garmadon looks like that he wears a helmet with a mouth piece to show that he is possessed by the Overlord, while the show only show Garmadon as a reptilian monster. Weird. The temple looks very neat. So, what about you guys? I mean, what do you think about them? How do you think we celebrate the anniversary of the set wave, too?
  8. Hi, guys! If anyone likes Ninjago's second TV season in 2012, which is about the Ninja fighting against Lord Garmadon with the Mega-Weapon and the Stone Army and Overlord in The Final Battle, let's celebrate the 5th anniversary of the season. So, yeah, happy 5th anniversary to the season! First, let’s talk about the plot of the season: The second season begins with the Ninja find a new home since their past home was destroyed while training Lloyd. Their powers are decreased because they are linked to the Golden Weapons. Since Lord Garmadon has them and is far away from the Ninja, this causes the Ninja's powers to decrease and become useless much. Meanwhile, Garmadon starts leading the Serpentine, which upsets Skales because he wants to lead them. Garmadon combines the Weapons into a new one called the Mega-Weapon, which can create and revive things. He uses it to cause some problems, but the Ninja stops him. Along the way, a group of thieving pirates, led by their captain named Soto, are revived from their deaths 200 years ago. Also, an incident causes Lloyd to magically rapidly grow up into a teenager, causing him to get closer to the prophecy about him being the Green Ninja. When Garmadon notices this, he time-travels to try to undo the forming of the Ninja, so he can stop Lloyd from becoming the Green Ninja, but they destroy the Mega-Weapon to save the world from Garmadon. Later, the Ninja, Wu, and Lloyd discovers Lloyd's mother, Misako, who tells them history of the land of Ninjago and the full contents of the prophecy. Meanwhile, Garmadon goes to find an island called the Island of Darkness after Skales overthrew him to lead the Serpentine. After finding the island, Garmadon encounters an ancient evil being called the Overlord, who tells him to help the Overlord with something bad, and Garmadon starts by rising the island from the ocean. Meanwhile, the Devourer's venom touches an army of stone statues called the Stone Army and brings them back to life. The Ninja try to defeat them, but the army is made of an indestructible material, so they can't be defeated. Later on, the Ninja and their allies meet Zane's long-lost creator and "father", who helps them out on their journey to the Island of Darkness. The Stone Army is operating there and serves Garmadon, as he wears a magical helmet called the Helmet of Shadow, which can control the army. When the Ninja arrived in the island, they find a magical temple called the Temple of Light, which they use to give Lloyd their elemental powers to make him stronger, themselves magical blades called the Elemental Blades that can use their powers, and new suits. The Ninja are able to defeat the Stone Army. However, the Overlord plans to create a tank called Garmatron, which can shoot an evil magical substance called Dark Matter that can turn people evil. Garmadon cares about Misako. Lloyd doesn't want to fight his father, so he hesitates. Plus, the bad guys have a clock that counts down to an event called the Final Battle, which involves prophecy. The Ninja try to stop the countdown to prevent the event from happening, but they are too late, as the Battle begins. The Army kidnaps Nya and uses the Dark Matter to turn her into their evil servant. The bad guys use Garmatron to turn some people in Ninjago into their evil servants. Lloyd is ready to fight Garmadon, but the Overlord takes over and turns Garmadon's body into a reptile-like monster when he can get out of the Island of Darkness, as it is revealed that the prophecy means that Lloyd has to fight actually the Overlord rather than his father. The bad guys go from the Island of Darkness to Ninjago while leaving the good guys behind. The good guys are trapped, but they found Lloyd's grandfather, the First Spinjitzu Master's golden mech, and the Ultra-Dragon found the good guys, so they all can go back to Ninjago. When they arrived, they are fighting the bad guys while the Overlord is transforming into his original form, which is a powerful dragon that can breathe dark energy that turns people evil. Luckily, the bad guys accidentally leave the Helmet of Shadows behind, so an ally of the Ninja, Dareth, wears and uses it to control the Stone Army to help the Ninja get to the Overlord. However, Nya and the Overlord are stopping the Ninja, but Lloyd gets to the Overlord while the other Ninja buy him some time by taking care of the Overlord's servants. When Lloyd started fighting the villain, he unlocks his true potential, which turns his green Ninja suit gold to become the Golden Ninja, making him the Ultimate Spinjitzu Master. He can use a new elemental power called power, powerful golden energy called Golden Power, and can summon a dragon made of his energy that he can ride on. Lloyd defeats the Overlord, restoring peace to Ninjago, making the Stone Army disappear (that is weird), curing everyone who turned evil by the Overlord and Dark Matter, and destroying the Devourer's venom within Garmadon to cure him to make him a good guy again while turning him back to his original and normal human form. The season ends. That’s the plot. Now, here’s my opinion about it: I like the season. It was great and epic. It’s a bummer that the Ninja can’t use their powers much because their Golden Weapons are gone. Garmadon is funny when he struggled working with the Serpentine and learning how to use the Mega-Weapon. Speaking of the Mega-Weapon, it is very cool that it can create things. It’s like a weapon equivalent to the Ninja’s Tornado of Creation. I feel bad that the Ninja lost their home because of the Great Devourer and were struggling to find a new home. However, good thing that they got their old home back. It’s awesome that the Ninja and Lloyd got some neat stuff, like the Ultra Sonic Raider’s function to split up into two vehicles (could’ve happened in the Serpentine Season, which was earlier in 2012, because its set can do that), Lloyd learning to use a new elemental power called Power, to do Spinjitzu, having the same abilities as the Golden Weapons, having a golden suit, summon a dragon that is made of his power, and the Ninja getting the Elemental Blades, which made up their weakened powers. It’s neat that Lloyd is being trained to become the Green Ninja as he learned to ride the Ultra Dragon, using Spinjitzu and elemental powers, and unlock his true potential (it’s very different from the other Ninja’s). Captain Soto and his crew and Dareth are funny characters, as well as the Serpentine and some Stone Warriors. It’s interesting that Soto was looking for the Island of Darkness, which was where the Overlord was located. Dareth may be a powerless guy, but he is useful when he had the Helmet of Shadows. It’s great that we get to see Lloyd mother named Misako, and Garmadon cares about her as well as Lloyd. She is a great ally to the Ninja. The Stone Army are very cool because they’re made of indestructible material and can’t be harmed by Lloyd’s own elemental power or the Serpentine’s powers. I felt bad that the Serpentine are imprisoned in the Stone Army’s underground tomb. It’s quite interesting that the Great Devourer’s venom can re-awaken the Stone Army and bring inanimate objects to life. I feel bad that Lloyd got accidentally enchanted by a magic tea to become a teenager. I hope he could somehow change back, though. It’s very cool that Dark Matter can turn people evil, and the same goes to the Overlord’s dragon form’s ability to breathe energy that can turn people evil. It’s very interesting to learn about the land of Ninjago’s history that involved the First Spinjitzu Master fighting the Overlord and the Stone Army and splitting the island into two pieces. It’s cool that the Island of Darkness was almost hidden under the water unless Garmadon can use his four arms to activate a switch that rose up the island from the water. It’s also cool and interesting that the Overlord possessed Garmadon like a ghost and turned him into a powerful reptilian monster, and then the Overlord turned it into his powerful original dragon-like form. It’s also interesting that we learn about some sea creatures, including the Starteeth and the Leviathan. It’s super-sweet that Zane’s creator, Dr. Julien, is revived and reunited with Zane. It’s interesting that the skeletons from the 2011 storyline are the ones responsible for some stuff that involved Dr. Julien. It’s great and cool that Dr. Julien was helping the Ninja and their allies with their journey in the Island of Darkness. Now, for the character development. Lloyd is quite concerned about his family. He saw his mom for the first time after a long time of not seeing her (I blame her for putting Lloyd in that evil school he was in). Lloyd was struggling on how he can fight his own father because his father was evil. I get that this was how he understood the prophecy, but I felt kind of bad for Lloyd. Good thing that the prophecy actually meant that he had to fight the Overlord. It’s also a good thing that Lloyd cured his dad into a good guy again. As for Jay, he was quite upset that Nya was kidnapped by the Stone Army because he loves her. I felt bad for both Jay and Nya. The season has 13 22-minute episodes. Anyway, what’s your favorite part in the season, and what things remind you of the season? For me, I like the battle between Lloyd and the Overlord at the end, the Ninja having new abilities to kick some Stone Army butt in the Temple of Light, and Zane and Dr. Julien reuniting the most. The things that remind me are: 1. Takauva vs. Makuta from Bionicle 2001-2010 2. The Stone Monster Army from Nexo Knights 3. Ekimu’s Temple of Light from Bionicle 2015-2016 4. Luke Skywalker vs. Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine from Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.
  9. Hi, guys! If anyone likes Ninjago's first TV season in 2012, which is about the Serpentine causing chaos and awakening the Great Devourer, let's celebrate the 5th anniversary of the season. I am not just talking about the season. I'm talking about the sets that the season is based on. So, yeah, happy 5th anniversary to the season! First, I'll tell the plot of the season: The season has 13 22-mintue episodes. It starts off with Ninja, who are Kai, Cole, Jay, and Zane, encountering their archenemy, Lord Garmadon's son named Lloyd Garmadon, who is doing evil pranks on people, but the Ninja stop humiliate him. This causes Lloyd to get revenge on them, so he walks to a snowy environment, where he finds and opens a tomb. In there, he unleashes one of five tribes of evil snake-based people called the Serpentine, the Hypnobrai, to attack village where the Ninja stopped him earlier. The snakes hypnotize people in the village and stole candy for Lloyd. One of the Hypnobrai named Skales is not fond of the idea, but the tribe's general, Slithraa, tells Skales, who is his second-in-command, to obey him. This is because Slithraa was trying to hypnotize Lloyd earlier, but Lloyd accidentally used an ice wall to reflect Slithraa's hypnotism back to Slithraa, making him obedient to Lloyd. The Ninja defeat the tribe by stealing their staff to use the anti-venom in there to cure the hypnotized people. Later on, Lloyd has the tribe build a tree-house-like fortress for him, but the Ninja stop them by destroying the unfinished fortress. The tribe gets their staff back, makes Skales their new general, has Slithraa obey Skales, and kicks Lloyd out of their tomb, but Lloyd got a map to the other tribes before that. Lloyd then unleashes another tribe called the Fangpyre, who can turn anything into snakes by biting them like vampires, to cause more trouble, but the Ninja stop them. Later, Lloyd has the Fangpyre fight the Hypnobrai for revenge, but the tribes instead ally each other and want to overthrow Lloyd. After Lloyd escaped from them, he opens a tomb of another tribe called the Anacondrai, who are said to be most feared and powerful of the tribes. However, he discovers that all but one Anacondrai are killed because of hunger, as he sees the last of the Anacondrai named Pythor P. Chumsworth, who is a snake with a long neck who can turn invisible and was the tribe's general. Lloyd and Pythor team up to commit little crimes in a village. They then attacks a school that rejected Lloyd before the time where he unleashed the Hypnobrai. The Ninja go to stop them. Pythor betrays Lloyd by stealing the map from and lets him get captured by the Ninja. The Ninja's sensei, Wu, who is Lloyd's uncle and Lord Garmadon's younger brother, teaches him to reform. Pythor uses the map to find and unleash the last two tribes, which are the Constrictai, who can dig through ground and choke their victims, and the Venomari, who can make people hallucinate by spitting venom into their eyes. The Ninja learn that Pythor plans to unite the tribes to find blades called the Fangblades, which can unleash a snake-like monster called the Great Devourer that can cause destruction upon the land of Ninjago. A new hero called Samurai X shows up to help the Ninja fight the Serpentine, and this hero is actually Kai's sister, Nya, using this as a superhero-like identity. The Serpentine kidnap Lloyd, which makes Wu go find and have Lord Garmadon help him and the Ninja fight the Serpentine and rescue Lloyd. When Lord Garmadon was found in an alternate world, he has four arms. He never wanted Lloyd to be a villain like him, and it is revealed that when he was a kid, he was used to be good-hearted until the Great Devourer, as a young snake, bit him with a magic venom that turned him evil. Garmadon still has a good conscious, so he wants to save Lloyd, who he cares. Meanwhile, the Ninja learn to unlock their true potential to use their elemental powers by expressing their hearts meaningfully (Zane has ice powers, Jay lightning, Cole earth, and Kai fire). Along the way, Zane is revealed to be a robot that the Ninja called a Nindroid. After all of the Ninja unlocked their true potentials, the good guys discover that Lloyd is a legendary hero called the Green Ninja, who is destined to fight his father in the future, even though that the Ninja originally thought that one of them was going to become the Green Ninja. After the Serpentine found the Fangblades, the good guys steal the blades from them while Lloyd is sad that Garmadon left him. Later, Pythor steals back the blades and goes to the Serpentine's ancient city to unleash the Devourer, which is giant, powerful, and can eat anything to grow bigger. The Ninja, along with Nya, Lloyd, and their pet called the Ultra-Dragon, which is a combined form of their dragons, try to stop the Devourer from destroying a city called Ninjago City, but it is unstoppable. However, Garmadon is the only one to use all four magical weapons called the Golden Weapons of Spinjitzu and the Devourer has a weak spot on its head, so the Ninja give Garmadon the Weapons and traps the monster, so Garmadon can hit its weak spot in order to defeat it. After he did so, the snake explodes into a tsunami of green goo that covered the city. Garmadon left with the Weapons, and Lloyd knows that he will face him, but the Ninja ensure that they will train him. To celebrate, let me ask you this: What are your fond memories about the season and the sets and/or what do you like about them? For me, well, they are very good. The first season shows the Ninja's character development more. It's cool and weird that Zane is a robot, which expands why he behaves weirdly. Jay wants to show Nya that he loves her (You can remember that moment from the pilot episodes in 2011). Cole needs to impress his dad when his dad expected him to be a dancer. Kai, well, is always hot-headed, but he learns that caring for people is a bigger priority than getting a special object. It's cool that Nya is a genius in mechanics, and becomes Samurai X and makes a mech to become her own hero. She like Iron Man from Marvel. She does try to help the boys out. The Ninja's NRG forms and them having elemental powers are awesome! They're like Ninjago' own Toa from Bionicle. It's interesting that Lloyd first starts off as the show's equivalent to Bowser Jr. from Mario video games when he is the son of an archenemy and wants to be like him, but he becomes more like Luke Skywalker from Star Wars when he has to become a hero to defeat his father, even though that he doesn't like this. I feel bad that Lloyd was captured by the Serpentine, being left out, and the Serpentine betraying. He was quite unlucky. But, I'm glad that he reformed and is saved by the Ninja and Garmadon. Sensei Wu is a good character, and he is cool when he can use a magic tea to travel between worlds. He feels bad that the Great Devourer turned his brother evil long ago. That's quite interesting. The Serpentine are very cool and funny. Pythor and Skales are great as villains because they are great at planning. It's interesting that each Serpentine tribe has ranks that go, from lowest to highest, from Scouts to Soldiers, then Warriors, then Generals, has unique powers and other abilities, and is based on a kind of snake. The Generals look epic because of snake tails and staffs. Good thing that there are anti-venom in the staffs that can undo the effects of the serpentine's powers. Garmadon is a cool character, as he has four arms and can hold all four Golden Weapons without getting destroyed by them (Samukai was the victim). He is a good and interesting character because he was used to be a good-hearted human who got bitten by the Great Devourer, which turned him into an evil villain. However, Garmadon still has a good conscious, so he cares about his son and doesn't want him to be evil, so he agrees to help the Ninja save Lloyd from the Serpentine during the time. Sadly, Lloyd feels bad that Garmadon left him, and Garmadon doesn't want to fight Lloyd when he becomes the Green Ninja, either. Speaking of the Green Ninja, it's cool that there's a legendary fifth Ninja, which is Lloyd. It's neat to see the skeletons from the 2011 storyline again, as Garmadon gets them to help him fight the Serpentine. The Great Devourer is very cool because it can eat stuff to become bigger and stronger. The Ultra-Dragon is awesome because it is a combination of the Ninja's four dragons. It's super-cool that the Golden Weapons can transform into vehicles that the Ninja can drive. I feel bad that the Hypnobrai The toys for the season are very cool. I like the new Spinjitzu spinners, new weapon packs, the Fangpyre vehicles, the Ninja's new vehicles, the Samurai Mech, the Ultra-Dragon, and the Great Devourer. The snake-like designs on the Serpentine vehicles look amazing. Sadly, there's no spinner or pack for Snike, who is a Constrictai Scout. When I heard that there two cancelled sets, which are the Serpentine Train and Lloyd's tree house fortress, I feel sad about them. IT would be cool if they are actually released as sets. The Ultra-Dragon could've have the colors of the dragons that it is made of. The Ninja's vehicles are awesome, and I like the Ultra-Sonic Raider the best! The Devourer looks menacing. The Fangblades look cool. So guys, what are your fond memories of the storyline, what do you like about it, what's your favorite 2012 set, favorite character(s) in the storyline, favorite moment in the storyline, what things remind you of the storyline, and/or how would you celebrate it? For me, well, my favorite characters are Cole, Lloyd, Jay, Zane, Nya, Pythor, Lord Garmadon, and Skales, and my favorite sets are Cole's vehicle, the Fangpyre Truck, the Rattlecopter, Destiny's Bounty, the Samurai Mech, the Ultra-Sonic Raider, and Epic Dragon Battle. The things that remind me are: 1. The Avengers movie in 2012. 2. That snake guy from Ben 10: Alien Force and Ben 10: Ultimate Alien 3. The Lizard from The Amazing Spider-Man movie in 2012. 4. Iron Man from Marvel (Nya) 5. Karai's snake form from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in 2012 6. The Toa from Bionicle (The Ninja) 7. Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader's relationship from Star Wars (Lloyd and his dad) 8. Mark Surge and Voltix from Hero Factory (Jay) 9. Electro from Marvel and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in 2014 (Jay) 10. That evil snake guy name Lyric from Sonic Boom video games in 2014. 11. The Midgard Serpent from Marvel 12. Snake-based villains from Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes 13. Jafar from Disney's Aladdin movie in 1992. 14. That snake-like Constructicon from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen in 2009 15. That giant and drilling snake-like creature from Transformers: Dark of the Moon in 2011 16. The nagas from The Secret Saturdays. 17. That evil cobra from Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesome-ness. 18. Hex's snake form from Ben 10 in 2016 or 2017. 19. Cobrax from Mixels. 20. Bowser and Bowser Jr. from Mario (Lord Garmadon and Lloyd Garmadon) 21. Hero Factory’s 2012 storyline - villains breaking out to cause chaos (the Serpentine)
  10. Hi, guys! When I look Four big Lego themes, Bionicle, Hero Factory, Ninjago, and Nexo Knights, I see some interesting similarities between them: 1. Their stories all have groups of heroes who have rookies that take spotlights. 2. They involve elements, which are fire, electricity, and earth. 3. They involve technology and abnormal-looking vehicles. 4. All of themes’ stories are on the similar levels of character development, how they’re constructed, and humor. 5. They all have dragons. These may be too common if you think so, there’s another interesting thing: You see, Bionicle’s characters are constraction figures and involved with elemental powers. Hero Factory’s characters also are constraction figures, but they are less involved with elemental powers and have more advanced technology than Bionicle’s. Ninjago’s characters are minifigures and involved with elemental powers. Nexo Knights’ characters also are minifigures, but they are less involved with elemental powers and have more advanced technology than Ninjago’s. So, when I look at these qualities, I would say that Hero Factory is Bionicle’s technology counterpart, Ninjago is Bionicle’s minifigure counterpart, and Nexo Knights is Ninjago’s technology counterpart and Hero Factory’s minifigure counterpart. You see, it’s like a square. I’m not sure about Hero-Factory-and-Ninjago and Bionicle-and-Nexo-Knights counterpart comparisons, but they share some more common stuff. Of course, Legends of Chima is sort of like them, but these themes are more developed than Legends of Chima. Plus, Legends of Chima is a part of Ninjago’s story, anyway. So, what do you guys think of the comparisons? Interesting, huh?
  11. Hi, guys! If anyone likes Ninjago's first TV season in 2012, which is about the Serpentine causing chaos and awakening the Great Devourer, let's celebrate the 5th anniversary of the season. Hero Factory’s 2012 storyline - villains breaking out to cause chaos (the Serpentine) EDIT: Can someone move this to the Ninjago page? I accidentally out put it in the Hero Factory section. Sorry. EDIT #2: On second thought, since no one is replying for a long time, I decided to post the topic on the Ninjago section instead.
  12. Hi, guys! Since Halloween is coming, which Ninjago character do you guys think is the scariest? For me, here's my list: 1. Samukai 2. 13. PREVIOUSLY ON BIONICLE X NINJAGO MAFIA: A NEW CONFLICT / NINJAGO STRIKES BACK / RETURN OF THE TOA (credit to art in banner goes to TBK, may his presence on BZPower rest in peace) Turmoil has engulfed BIONICLE MAFIA. The rising threat of the sinister BROTHERHOOD OF MAKUTA threatens to break through the defenses of the perilous Desolation. Hoping to resolve the matter with little bloodshed, the MATORAN have enlisted a small village to defend and form a blockade at the Wall. While those who control the STAFF OF UNLIMITED POWER endlessly debate this alarming chain of events, the evil villain known as HAPORI DUME has secretly dispatched his Cult Leader to the blockade, hoping to settle the conflict to further his own devious plans…. --- RULES 1-Vote changes are not permitted. 2-All BZP Rules Apply. 3-Once killed, players can no longer have an impact on the game. 4-Role revealing is not allowed. 5-This game will employ “innocence” lists rather than suspect lists. Detective x1 – This player investigates one other person each night to determine their role, and cannot be brainwashed by the Cult Leader. Medic x1 – This player can protect one person each night from both death and the Cult Leader. BROTHERHOOD OF MAKUTA Icarax x1 – Leader of the Makuta sent to the Wall; he decides who to send and who to kill each night. If he dies, Icarax can take two other players down with him. Bitil x1 – Thanks to his ability to summon past versions of himself, Bitil is safe from the influence of the Cult Leader. 14. So with the conclusion of the seventh season of Ninjago recently, we're all left wondering what will become of Wu, the Time Twins, and the Vermillion; how the ninja will move forward with Lloyd filling the role of Master; and when the new Samurai X will drop the act and be revealed as P.I.X.A.L. already (the only acceptable alternative, in my opinion, being that it's really Seliel from the Who is the Phantom Ninja? graphic novel finally coming to television). However, the season also raised some questions through its depiction of the Elemental Masters of the past, who appeared both in flashback and due to time travel. The most pressing question is with regards to the previous Elemental Master of Earth, and where he stands in relation to Cole. Given that he appears to be roughly equivalent in age to Ray, Maya, and Jay's as-yet unnamed mother, it would make the most sense for him to be Cole's father. Problem is, Cole's father has already been identified as Lou, leader of the Royal Blacksmiths quartet, who has demonstrated no hints of history as an Elemental Master. Most likely explanations for this are that either he IS the former Elemental Master of Earth and the writers simply haven't written it into the series yet, or he himself might be related to this former master. Going off the weird timeline/aging process associated with the Elemental Masters of old, it would seem most likely that he could either have been the Master's son and already born at the time of the battle with Acronix and Krux, with Lou having Cole around the time that Kai and Cole were born to his father's comrades, or else possibly the brother of the Master of Earth, both of them being sons of a previous Master of Earth with Lou's bloodline allowing Cole to inherit the powers. The second question comes with regard to an Elemental Master of Ninja with no relation to the present group of ninja-in fact, the question is who IS he related to. I'm referring to an Elemental Master who has been seen wearing a gray helmet, some armor with his brown clothing, and carries a spear. Now, previously I've seen some consider this guy the Elemental Master of Gravity, due to his ability to float in the air, and thus an ancestor of the turban wearing and highly unoriginally named Gravis. However, during the most recent season, when he first appears in a group lineup with the Elemental Masters, Wu's list of acknowledged Elemental Powers includes not Gravity, but Metal. Considering that Karloff, the current Master of Metal, uses his powers to encase himself in metal all Marvel's Colossus style, it makes me wonder if this gentleman may not have been the previous Master of Metal utilizing his powers in a fashion more like Magneto, manipulating the metal he wears to lift himself off the ground. Also, it'd be kind of nice to know how the previous Master of Ice-whose clothing gives me a real Inuit vibe-passed his powers down to Zane, given that Zane's...a robot, while the Master appears human.
  15. This year, I've been going to San Diego Comic-Con. As such, I wanted to add and collect as much new LEGO information as I can from there, for the purpose of reporting, recording, and discussing it. I'll be updating this topic as the days go on. A lot of this is Ninjago themed, as LEGO is really pushing it this year and it's the system theme I personally care about the most, but I'll try to cover everything there is. With that being said, here is my coverage of nearly everything LEGO at Comic-Con 2017: Day 0 (July 19) ------------------------------------------------ Show Floor Unsurprisingly, much of the show floor is themed after Ninjago. The main building area of the booth features instructions for various different Ninjago-themed set-pieces (pillars, arches, and the Ninjago "N"). In front of the main area are three life-sized LEGO Statues: The Flash from "Flash," Thor from "Thor: Ragnarok," and Luke Skywalker from "Star Wars: The Last Jedi." The main displays in the front show off "NINJAGO® City" as well as various Brickheadz (including the 2 exclusive ones). In the corner of the booth is a demo for the LEGO Ninjago Movie Video Game. In the demo level, the players control Lloyd on the Green Ninja Mech Dragon (Player 1) and Jay in the Lightning Jet (Player 2) as they fly through Ninjago City, taking down some of Garmadon's jets as they do so. After 3 dogfighting phases, you switch to Kai (Player 1) and Cole (Player 2) fighting Garmadon's goons on the ground as you attempt to repair the city and get to your mechs. The game launches September 22 on PlayStation 4, XBOX ONE, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The display cases on the side of the booth shows off all the new sets coming out this summer, including one not seen before today: "garmadon, Garmadon, GARMADON!" from the LEGO Ninjago Movie line. It's price is $79.99, and it's a Toys "R" Us exclusive. The shop in the back of the booth features nearly all the new summer sets for sale. Because of my general bias towards Ninjago as well as what I feel most people would find interesting, I took note of all the prices for the new Ninjago Movie sets: If people would like me to get the prices for other sets, I'm happy to do so. I personally bought the Water Strider and a NINJAGO minifig. Day 0 Picture Gallery Day 1 (July 20) ------------------------------------------------ Outside the Convention Center First day of NINJOGA. Not much to say (since I didn't go to this one), other than it's Ninjago yoga. Show Floor The Ninjago-themed builds have been replaced with a building area for Garmadon. There was also a giveaway of small Ninjago Movie sets. Sails Pavillion Personally, this was the part I was satisfied with the least today. The distribution of the tickets for the exclusive Brickheadz set (Spider-Man / Venom) seems to have been completely messed up by SDCC security, as around 300 people managed to jump into the LEGO line before going through the "Everything" line required to actually get into line, leading to many people (myself included) not being able to even get a chance at winning a ticket, and the line closing down 15-20 minutes after the con opening. This didn't happen to just the LEGO line, but Funko too; and I wouldn't be surprised if it happened to the other lines too (albeit to a lesser degree). Hopefully this is fixed for the giveaway tomorrow. The giveaway for the minifigure (Deadpool Duck) was a lot better, going at a more reasonable pace compared to the Brickheadz, and more people getting a chance to win one. I luckily managed to get one of them. Unikitty Panel The new show looks cute, and like it would be plenty of fun for younger kids. The animation style seems to mostly be the same as Teen Titans Go!, however, it also includes some restrictions to keep it grounded in the world of LEGO (Unikitty's legs decidedly don't move, and a lot of the characters are made of blocky shapes to imitate that LEGO aesthetic). It seems like a pretty wholesome, fun show, with a lot of comedy, action, and sentimentality thrown in (It reminds me a little bit of MLP in that regard). It also seems it would get repetitive in tone and general structure very quickly. That being said, I could be quite surprised. Ninjago Movie Panel Now, this is the real meat & potatoes of today. There's a lot to cover here (some of it potentially spoilery), so this will probably be one of the longer sections of the coverage. To kick it off, the panel began by setting up brick-built name tags for all the presenters, with the voice actors having their roles on them as minifigures. After this, the moderator came up and have a short speech about what makes the LEGO films special. Following this, a compilation clip of the 3 LEGO films played, transitioning the audience from the first two into this new one. The producer of the three movies then came out to discuss with everyone what makes the LEGO movies so great, before introducing the different characters of the new movie with a new character trailer. As the voice actors came out, a polybag version of the Green Ninja Mech Dragon was passed out to everyone in the audience. The voice actors were first asked about how they prepare for their roles (The announcer pronounced Nya's name throughout the panel as "Nai-ah," rather than "Ni-ah." This may or may not apply to the a actual film.). Justin Theroux bases his Garmadon off of narcissists he knows in real life, Olivia Munn just does the opposite of everything her mother did, and Abbi Jacobson just relates to the strong, rad character of Nya. Kumail Nanjiani is then asked if he played with LEGO as a kid, to which with some humorous responses he ultimately said "yes." Michael Peña's son is apparently a LEGO fanatic, having been to "LEGO Seminar" earlier today and learning some pretty advanced techniques from it. All Zach Woods could say about Zane is "a robit who wants to be a teenager," and that he looks like "a freshman from Princeton." The film is apparently Dave Franco's favorite project. After this chatter, a new trailer played for the film, which will be released tomorrow. After the trailer, the rest of the presenters talked about the film, before doing a short Q&A session until the end. Here are some of the information from that I found interesting: -All the fight scenes were choreographed by Jackie Chan's stunt team -The film is 2 weeks from being finished -Justin came up with the "Luh-loyd" joke -Michael's seen every episode of Ninjago, and rode the LEGOLAND ride 5 times -The Gold Ninja may or may not make an appearance in the film -The main point of the film is Lloyd trying to give his dad a chance. As such, the back stories for the other ninja won't be as fleshed out. -There's a reason for Garmadon's heavy nautical themes this time around, and it somehow involves -After the LEGO Movie 2, more diverse and varied themes are being considered for films Day 1 Picture Gallery Day 2 (July 21) ------------------------------------------------ Outside the Convention Center Day 2 of NINJOGA. Again, not much to say, as I didn't have time to attend. LEGO has delayed the new trailer's release date to tomorrow; however, it was released before they expected today. Show Floor Today, they're handing out a unique Justice League poster up front. I don't know where the Ninjago Movie poster is available. The Garmadon statue is still under construction. Once complete, it'll stand over 7 feet tall. The LEGO designers of the "NINJAGO® City" set are livestreaming the building process behind it. It can be seen . The line for purchasing the exclusive Brickheadz consistently wrap around the booth halfway. I bought 4 more Ninjago minifigures. Sails Pavillion The set (Supergirl / Martian Manhunter) ticket drawing was a lot better this time around. There were a lot more security measures and people watching to make sure less people jump into the line. The pace was also better, with seemingly more people losing than yesterday. I actually managed to win one this time! The minifig line (Vixen) is rather long, and moving at a rather slow pace. Thankfully, I decided against getting this one, as I wanted to focus more on the Brickheadz. Day 2 Picture Gallery Overall, not much happened today, and I don't expect much will tomorrow, as there were no panels today and there are none tomorrow. Day 3 (July 22) ------------------------------------------------ Outside the Convention Center Third day of NINJOGA. Again, don't have enough time to go to it. Show Floor The giant statue of Garmadon has been finished. Construction has begun on another model this time; that of Lloyd. Today, they were handing out little Ninjago coloring books as well as an exclusive Thor: Ragnarok poster. It's, as well as the Justice League poster's, creator, Tom Whalen, signed both of them as well. After asking the person who's been running LEGO's Twitter, I found out that the Ninjago Movie poster has been given out at some point physically at the Warner Bros. booth. As such, I won't be able to get it. Sails Pavillion The way the line works for the Brickheadz ticket release, as well as most of the other exclusives, was a little bit different today. Rather than have everybody rush to get into the line at once, security grabbed a group of people and put them into the line. Once they passed, they grabbed another group and did the same. I can only assume they did this so that the lines weren't forced to go down the steps, which if opened, could lead to people who weren't in the "everything" line beforehand sneaking into the exclusives lines. Through some really nice luck, I managed to get 2 of the Brickheadz today (Spider-Man / Venom). The minifig line was really long today (Deadpool Duck). I'm lucky to have gotten one on Monday, as to not worry about it today. Day 3 Picture Gallery One more day left! Tomorrow's gonna have 3 LEGO panels (including one on the Ninjago TV show), so it's going to be a lot more productive. I might add a Day 5 to summarize my thoughts on SDCC as a whole, as well. Day 4 (July 23) ------------------------------------------------ Outside the Convention Center Final day of NINJOGA. Once more, I won't have time to attend the session. Sorry about not being able to cover this part for you guys! Show Floor No exclusive posters were handed out today. The large statue of Lloyd was finally finished, and the small statue of Garmadon signed by someone (I wasn't there at the time of signing, so I can't say for certain). Sails Pavillion The line was really well managed... for the first 5 minutes. After this, a swarm of people were let loose in the direction of the LEGO line. Thankfully, there were 2 members of security blocking off the entrance, and nobody had any time to cut in line. I managed to get another of Supergirl / Martian Manhunter sets. The minifig line (Vixen) was just as ridiculous as ever. I decided to go against waiting for it, even though it was the last opportunity to do so. Scooby-Doo Panel The film, Blowout Beach Bash, was okay. It does have some problems (in that the film at times feels overly long, and other times really short), and in general is just okay. Some of the jokes miss, and some really land (mostly the ones involving the fact that they're LEGO), but most of the jokes are standard fair. The explosion, water and fire effects are surprisingly decent. The songs, on the other hand, were pretty bad (thankfully, they only were in the first half). Overall, it's an okay film. I would recommend it if you enjoy Scooby-Doo, but otherwise, I would skip it. The panel, while short, was pretty fun. 3 signed copies of a poster for the film was handed out, and it almost all a Q&A session with some of the cast and crew. The film was released today / is already available. Superhero Girls Panel The film, Brain Drain, I personally think was better than the Scooby-Doo one. If I had a complaint, it would be the final concert scene of the film feels very out of place with the rest of film, and some of the dialogue seems fastly paced at times. However, the film has some pretty decent jokes, and I think it's a stronger film than Scooby-Doo one. The panel was pretty short as well, and really nice. It had some of the writers and all of the main cast on it, and a lot of it was discussing how important strong female characters for girls to relate to are. There was also a Q&A section, and 3 signed posters were given out. The film will be released July 25th. Ninjago Panel Again, this was probably the big highlight of the day. There's going to be a lot to cover, so let's get started. After a short introduction from the Voice Actors (as they couldn't attend the panel) and a short trailer for the season, the first thing covered was the creation of Season 7, The Hands of Time. The design process of the season first began with choosing what characters the season would focus on, in which this case they chose Kai & Nya. For their new story focusing on them, they wanted to try to explore the mystery of "what happened to their parents." They actually had the idea of the elemental masters for a few years now, and only now we're they revealed as a way to tie into this season. The Hageman Brothers really didn't want to do a time-travel season, as all the problems time-travel bring up; however, as they were not involved with this season, the time-travel idea for through. They then moved on to discussing the new Ninja X, and though they didn't give anything away about who it is, they did heavily imply that we may get an answer to it in the next season. The Bermillion were originally green; however, when the name "Vermillion" was chosen (which comes from how they are vermin and there are millions of them), their color was changed to red. They then talked a little bit about the designing of the Fusion Dragon and how that was translated to the TV show, as well as how the disappearance of Wu would effect all the ninja and their lives. The music of each season has a featured instrument in the soundtrack (for example, the feature instrument in Season 7 was the dulcimer). Day 4 Picture Gallery It's finally over! Sorry about the long delay in this final update; there was a lot of information to go through, and there was some things as well that were taking up my time; however, SDCC has ended, and so too has my coverage. I will be staying in California for a little while longer for college trips and grandparent visits, but I am going to Brickfair, and I will be selling/giving away some of the stuff I got. If people still have questions on some of the stuff I posted, or just want to discuss, then go ahead; otherwise, that's that!
  16. I had a question about the placement of a topic I wanted to make. I'm going to every day of San Diego Comic-Con, and I wanted to create a topic recording and discussing all the new information there; however, much of LEGO's presence there is on Ninjago. Should I make it in the General LEGO forum, even though it's going to be mostly Ninjago, the Ninjago forum and cut out the other content, or split it between the two? Thanks!
  17. When it comes to most things I'm a fan of, I'm a bit of a completist, especially in the area of merchandise. As such, if something appeared in the Ninjago TV series, I feel it should appear in set form. Now this doesn't apply to everything-I honestly don't care much for season four's Elemental Masters all that much-but there are definitely a few show elements that I think should appear in set form, such as the following: Young Wu and Garmadon-perhaps a recreation of their epic duel?-and the First Spinjitzu Master.Garmadon's Samurai Mech-that thing was a beast, and it seems a shame that it never got it's own set.The Overlord Dragon-the Golden Dragon was nice, but without its nemesis it seems incomplete. You could even get some extra out of it by including purified/pre-Sensei Garmadon or the First Spinjitzu Master; the latter would enable you to recreate the ancient battle of good and evil.Project: Arcturus-that ship was sweet, and a set version could be really cool. Of course, a figure of its Serpentine namesake wouldn't go amiss...The Preeminent-again, it just seems wrong to finish out a year without releasing a set of the big bad, and the Preeminent would definitely make a nice addition. The Earth Dragon-I'm sorry, but "Cole's Dragon" was garbage, especially compared to other Dragons we've had in the series. I figure we could get Cole, perhaps his dad and the Royal Blacksmiths or Yang's other four students who don't have Minifigs, and maybe even a Seliel fig? She is so cool, they really should put her in the show/toyline.Water and Fire Dragons-the upcoming "Fusion Dragon" is cool, but it'd be nice for the dragons who compose it to get their own sets. The Black Bounty-might just be a recolor of the Destiny's Bounty, but it would give you the chance to get Soto's crew and maybe even the Bizarro Ninja. So, anyone have any thoughts on these, or any suggestions for other sets?
  18. My but this forum is light on topics. So if my calculations are correct, as of the Day of the Departed special eight of the Ninjago series' Sixteen Realms have been identified: NinjagoThe UnderworldThe Dark Realm (where Lord Garmadon got his extra arms)The Cursed Realm (destroyed)Cloud KingdomChimaDjinnjago (destroyed)The Departed Realm As a result, there are eight realms that are as yet unaccounted for, though of course we may see more as the Hageman brothers see fit to use them as a plot device. Until we do, however, there's plenty of speculation to be made as to what the remaining eight realms might consist of. Personally, based on my own preferences and my assessments of Lego in general, I could see the following: Knighton-Nexo Knights seems to have replaced Chima, so it would make sense that it would have it's own realm.DC Super Heroes-whether or not Super Hero Girls would be included or be it's own separate thing is up for debate.Marvel Super HeroesStar Wars-goes without saying that, as one of Lego's most popular and expansive themes, it would get it's own realm.Middle Earth-what with two video games (not counting Dimensions) and numerous sets, it seems like it would have one.Harry Potter-again, Lego's done a lot with it.Elvendale/Heartlake City World-given their similar minifigure types, it would make sense for them to share a world.DisneyGiven the season one reference to Clutch Powers, I would imagine that the Lego City theme fits into Ninjago, along with the likes of Lego Atlantis. Any other themes would probably be bunched in with these realms or else could be described as additional ones beyond the "cluster" if you will of sixteen that includes Ninjago. Of course, the loss of two realms does also open it up to where there could be space for an additional two to fill the void.
  19. I often see topics that are sort of the opposite of this one, asking which aspects of the Ninjago TV show you would like to see in sets. But I rarely see stuff that asks the opposite question: are there things in the Ninjago sets that you wish would appear in the show? One thing I wish was more present in the show is Nya's daggers. They were her signature weapon in the 2011 sets, and both the 2012 and 2016 versions of Samurai X included a version on a pole as a naginata. But neither has been given any equivalent in the show. I know that pretty much none of the ninja use their classic signature weapons as much as they used to, and that Samurai X has her own signature weapon in the show (the boomerang blade), but I think these weapons really suit Nya. Kai's scar is another example. In the sets, Kai has always had a scar over his left eye (except for in the Target Minifigure Gift Set), but in the show this was omitted since such a battle-hardened look didn't fit with his backstory as a blacksmith in a peaceful village. However, that doesn't preclude the possibility of him sustaining a future injury in the show to better reconcile it with the sets. It could even be an interesting plot point from a narrative perspective since Kai is kind of vain and it would be interesting to see what he'd think if the ninja life started to wear on him physically. Can anybody else think of examples of things from the Ninjago sets that could be fun to see in the show?
  20. LEGO has made a LOT of sets containing dragons, especially in recent years. Brickset counts around 70 sets containing dragons, more than half of which were released in just the past five years. So out of curiosity, how many LEGO dragons do you have, and which ones are your favorites? Do you prefer molded dragons like the ones in LEGO Castle, or more brick-built ones like the ones from LEGO Ninjago and LEGO Elves? I'm not sure how many dragons I have from 90s Castle sets, but my twin brother and I have about 25 dragons from the past decade: the Kardas Dragon from LEGO Bionicle, Dragon Bolt from LEGO Hero Factory, twelve dragons from LEGO Ninjago, and eleven dragons from LEGO Elves. My overall favorites are Elandra the Queen Dragon from LEGO Elves and the Master Wu Dragon from LEGO Ninjago. I have a hard time choosing between them. Elandra is bigger and more lifelike, while Master Wu Dragon is more posable. Generally I prefer brick-built dragons over molded ones. A decade ago I might've had a different answer, but today there are lots of great hinge and curved slope pieces for building lifelike, posable LEGO creatures. Feel free to share your thoughts on LEGO dragons!
  21. While I didn't buy any of the sets when the theme initially came out (it was during my time where I fell out of LEGO for a little while, after BIONICLE was first cancelled), and while I didn't watch the TV show as it was first airing, I do remember marathoning it a couple of weeks before the first "finale", and from what I remember, I actually really enjoyed it! With the new movie coming out and BIONICLE's cancellation, I was thinking about maybe getting back into the series, and actually buying some sets this time. However, I haven't followed anything about it since the not-ending, so I don't know if I should pick it back up again. So, should I pick it up again? And if I were to start buying some of the sets, what would you recommend? EDIT: Phrasing

  23. I'm just curious about which one of these themes you all think is the best
  24. So is anyone else perplexed by the whole "Villains United" theme of Ninjago sets later this year? I mean, let's look at the lineup: *Skeletons-makes sense seeing as how they were never destroyed. *Stone Warriors-a little bizarre since the only one we've seen since the end of season two was the big guy in Cryptarium Prison. *Nindroids-again, only ones we've seen were in Cryptarium Prison. *Chen and his Anacondrai Cultists-were last known to be inside the Preeminent...right before she was destroyed, apparently taking everyone inside with her aside from Clouse. Even with that, how are they flesh-and-blood again? Of course, it will hopefully all be explained once those episodes start-though who knows when that'll be since nothing past Skybound episode one has premiered in the U.S. yet.
