  2. So like, the other day I was sitting by myself and I remembered that I didn't ever do that squeal to VA that I promised. So instead of going back to Gilead, which I promise I'll get to one of these days, I decided to write this instead. Main topic: http://www.bzpower.com/board/topic/24141-the-war-of-the-roses/
  3. This tale chronicles the exploits of the Kanohi Force after the conclusion of Vanquished Alliance. Review: http://www.bzpower.com/board/topic/24142-the-war-of-the-roses-review/ *** Describing it as eerie would simply not suffice. This setting was beyond eerie … almost stomach-churning. The sky was purple with black clouds agitating and swirling around within it. Faint white stars could be spotted through the occasional gap in the clouds, however the did not provide any comfort for those who were there … not that they needed any. The buildings were tannish, designed in what we would know as a Pueblo style on Earth. Purplish mists flew about with the wind. Floating chunks of rubble would occasionally ram into each other in the torrent of chaotic storms overhead. Two beings faced each other in a clearing between two buildings. They were each covered by long flowing robes with hoods over their heads and strange masks covering their faces. “Vainglory,” said the first one with a nod of its head. Vainglory, who was more hunched and withered than the first, nodded back. “I’m sure you know why I am here.” “Yes. Greed has kept me informed,” replied Vainglory. “So what’s your intention in regards to this situation? The gates have been opened by our operative.” “Which one?” “Petewa.” “Ah, the duplicate. Yes, I remember now. Was it not merely a month ago when that happened?” “Correct. We still have an informant in Dimension 3. According to them, the Kanohi Force is marshalling a fleet to try to close off the gates.” “Then we must act quickly.” “Yes. Lust and Sloth have already prepared their fleets, while Wrath and myself are almost finished. Gluttony and Greed are still rebuilding theirs from their recent conquest of Dimension 76.” “So I presume you’ve come to ask for my assistance as well.” “Yes.” “I will do what I can. I will likely not be able to join Lust and Sloth on their first strike, however I will give them some auxiliary.” “Thank you, Vainglory.” “Likewise, Envy.” The taller of the beings disappeared in a cloud of green and black energy. The shorter one, now alone, reached into the pocket of its flowing jacket and pulled out a long gray tendril. At the end on it was a purple rose flower. He held it above his head and muttered a word in a long forgotten tongue. The urbanized landscape in front of him melted away into a flat plain of stone like dust in the wind. An ocean of swirling purple and black energies rushed in from the sky, filling the desolate plain. The waters then separated into several individual pools and lakes, and divided further into a seemingly infinite sequence of tiny puddles. The puddles then began to rise from the ground and took on the shape of humanoid beings. The purple and black swirling mass then hardened into solid features. Before Vainglory was an almost endless army of identical beings. Each was clad in a metallic silver and purple armor, with the crest of the Darkness^Lords implanted on their helmets. They each carried a long rifle with a purple bayonet on the end. “The gate has been opened. We must now walk free from exile,” said Vainglory. “Arise my compatriots, the hour of victory is near. Soon the Darkness^Lords shall fly our mighty banner over all of existence.” The wizened being breathed in a sigh as he willed into being an enormous fleet of starships overhead. They lowered gangways onto the ground, which the newly created soldiers climbed up. Once they were all loaded into their vessels, they turned around and flew into the sky. There were about fifty of them. Once they were out of sight, Vainglory repeated the process. *** Irrie stirred from his sleep. He snatched himself awake and gasped, hitting his head on the underside of the bunk bed on top of him in the process. “It’s coming,” he whispered. He heard Kovika groan and roll over in the bed on top of his. “What are you talking about,” he muttered, half-asleep. “I … uh … hm.” “Go back to sleep, it’s 5 in the morning.” “Yeah. I was just about to do that.” He, however, could not go back to sleep. Something was nagging him, but he didn't know what it was. Or how to make it stop.

Our series will include things like: MOC reviewsStory reviewsComic reviewsInterviews with KF members, and perhaps some other BZP members, providing they have access to Skype or Google HangoutsLet's-play videos, in which Ghidora will review various video games (LEGO ones included)Announcements of contest and other special events hosted by the Kanohi ForceAnd possibly some monthly podcasts. The club was first brought together on December 6th of 2014. So, in honor of our one-year anniversary, Ghiddy and I have made our first official video. If I told you this one went off without a hitch, I'd be lying. This was a pain in our backsides to figure out, but we can only improve from here, I say. On to the video! We will regularly update this topic with new videos and announcements, so remember to check back! Independence

Hello BZPower, this is my first epic! It revolves around the adventures of the Kanohi Force in the 2004th Dimension as they gain greater intelligence and freedom from their unjust overlords. The story largely takes place in that dimension's Metru Nui, and so all of the Matoran characters use the MetruToran build. Anyway, I guess I'll post the first chapter now. Review topic Independence - Chapter One The green Matoran dashed through the streets of Onu-Metru, breaking several laws in the process. Firstly, all citizens of Metru Nui were to be powered off at this time of night. It was also illegal to leave one's Metru without permission from a supervisor. Lastly, on-foot speed was not to exceed two miles per hour. The hulking figure lumbering after the Mahiki-wearing outlaw made note of all this information and sent it back to the Onu-Metru police headquarters for future reference. Steam hissed from several exhausts on the pursuer's massive arm as it ratcheted down to grab an instrument from its torso. The giant flicked a switch on the cylinder and aimed it at the swift Le-Matoran. It watched, dumbfounded, as the criminal continued on unaffected. Checking The Code out of preprogrammed habit, the robot confirmed that the runner now qualified as defective. A hatch slid open on the robot's right shoulder and a small turret emerged, automatically locking on to the newly branded defective. The Matoran realized that the guard had entered Phase Two and tossed the tablet he was carrying into the nearest window. As he rummaged for something in his satchel, he could only hope that the tablet was now in the correct building and that the inky black sky had prevented the guard from noticing it. Finally finding what he was looking for, the Matoran hit a few buttons on a rectangular object while dodging laser fire. An orange portal appeared, hovering above the street. The Le-Matoran dove into the portal moments before it disappeared entirely. After performing scans in all imaginable spectrums to ensure that the perpetrator was not hiding, the robot began the walk back to the Onu-Metru police subdivision barracks. * * * The next morning at 5:00 AM, a Matoran powered on. This was a notable occurrence; Matoran usually awoke at 5:30. However, the government was lenient in some cases such as this one. This particular Matoran was a Le-Metru inventor. He wore a black Kakama and had green and black armor. Like the rest of the Matoran, he had no name besides his designation code: T1S. The pack on his back was slightly larger than the variety on most Matoran, seeing as he was an inventor. He was in Onu-Metru on a sanctioned business trip to pitch new inventions, but now it was time for him to return to his own Metru. He had powered on early so he could use a transport before the main rush. As he gathered his Akilini disk and the unsuccessful prototypes, he noticed something odd on the floor of his second-story apartment. He knelt down and collected a small stone tablet. One side was blank, while the other said, WAKE UP. What could this mean, and who was it from? he pondered with his slightly advanced brain. Supervisors always gave very specific instructions, which they then relayed to the antennae on the Matorans' backs. It couldn't be from them. The only logical solution he had was to present the tablet to a supervisor. He carefully put on his satchel before subjecting himself to the five minute screening process required to exit the building. * * * In the Onu-Metru underground, a Matoran sat at his desk, neatly recording every minor news story of late. As he copied down an article about the curfew being extended by a minute, his antennae began to hum. He tapped a button on the side of his mask and he heard the raspy, monotonous voice of a supervisor. "Loremaster unit IRE, report to Onu-Metru supervisor office 4 immediately." Using the button to toggle through options on an HUD, IRE confirmed that he had received the message and would follow the instructions immediately. As usual, heads turned as he walked to the office. It was unusual for a gray Onu-Matoran to wear a Kaukau. When he reached the office, a tall, thin supervisor with a purple shoulder patch was waiting next to a Matoran. "IRE, you will be travelling to Le-Metru with T1S to analyze an object he discovered. Our forensics department was unable to find out anything, but we feel that your extensive knowledge of history could prove useful." "Affirmative, supervisor." The spindly, black being then took T1S's Onu-Metru pass and handed IRE a Le-Metru pass. The pair made the short walk to the transport terminal in awkward silence. * * * In Ta-Metru, a Matoran sat on a bench and carefully watched the traffic. If he had been anyone else, he would have been labeled defective and dragged off. However, this Matoran was a previous Chronicler, one who had the privilege of travelling the city and recording important events. This position was gradually phased out and replaced with the numerous Loremasters. As such, he now did whatever odd jobs the supervisors assigned him. Suddenly, he received a message. "We only have one unit in forge 7. Head there immediately." When he arrived, he found an orange-and-blue Matoran hammering a red-hot sheet of metal. "Greetings. I assume you are the unit the supervisor sent to help?" the forgemaster asked. "Affirmative." "Excellent. Our task is to create some new armor for that guard unit." He gestured towards a massive black figure standing in the corner near some tools. "Hmm.... I think we need to get that cannon to retract before we can apply the plates. Can you turn him back on?" The former Chronicler nodded, and then walked over behind the guard. He removed a panel from the back of its head and was presented with several switches. He flicked what he assumed was the power switch and the forge was filled with sound. "YOU CLUMSY FOOL, WHAT DID YOU DO?!" the forgemaster shouted, just barely louder than the noise. They heard laser fire and started looking around frantically. Quickly the two discovered that the gunshots went with the sound, and that the sound was part of a video! They intently watched the projection on the wall, first in amazement and then in horror. "Why would this guard record himself shooting a Matoran?!" the Chronicler cried out. "I don't know, but we need to show a supervisor," the forgemaster said. As they headed for the office, they saw two annoyed-looking Matoran at the transport terminal. "Do you two know which supervisor office is best for reporting something?" "No," the gray one said. "Why do you ask?" The pair of Ta-Matoran made sure no one else was around. "We found a video of a guard shooting at a Matoran." T1S remembered the strange note he found. "You two are coming to Le-Metru."
  8. Hello, BZPower, this is Dallior, the Kanohi Force's public relations chairman. This is just a quick poll to see if you know who the Kanohi Force are and what you think of us. Vote and comment below your feelings about us!
  9. Anybody that's been keeping up with the Wiki has probably seen the page I've been working on relating to the Darkness^Lords. I'm planning on doing some further works relating to them in the future. But only after I finish with Gilead. “What is it?” “It’s an oil drum, obviously.” “Yeah, but what’s inside of it?” “I dunno, open it up.” Irrie and Bonkle stood in the middle of the sand dunes of New Po-Wahi. They were en route from New Po-Koro back to BZ-Metru, as had just served as representatives for a business meeting with a group of merchants who agreed to buy stocks in the Kanohi Force. The chute system was currently over capacitated, so they decided just to walk to the next city, which was New Ta-Koro. Irrie knelt down and unscrewed the cap on the edge of the drum after turning it upright. He tilted it over ever so slightly and allowed for a small bit of the silvery liquid to pour out. “Energized protodermis?” said Bonkle. “Looks like it. But I wonder what it’s doing here in the middle of the desert.” “Maybe somebody was transporting it on a vehicle and it fell off?” “Maybe. But EP is sort of a rare commodity, you’d think that they would ensure that they had it securely attached to their transport before moving it across the desert like that.” “This is changing the subject, but I wish we’d remembered to have taken a vehicle of some sort,” said Bonkle. “Agreed. But it’d have to get outfitted for this part of the desert. It’s not like it is over in the west where it’s just a hard clay floor, there’s a lot of loose sand particles here that could get inside of the machine’s mechanics.” “Well, no point in pondering about it much longer. It’s time to get out of here.” The two Kanohi Force members left the drum in the sand, continuing on their trip back to civilized country. They would continue on their travels through the sands, eventually finding themselves in the foothills of the mountains of Ta-Koro. Unlike the forested mountains down south, these ones were barren and devoid of most life other than a few Rahi who somehow existed without needing the base of their food chain. They arrived at a chasm carved out by a slow moving river of lava. A narrow bridge connected the two sides. Bonkle was the first to cross, since he was lighter than Irrie. “I’ll go and scout ahead,” he said as he ran out of sight between two large boulders. Irrie shrugged and took a step onto the bridge. “Not so bad,” he murmured as he carefully walked across. “I’d even wager that-” He stopped speaking when he heard an odd noise behind him. He turned around and saw a strange shimmering in the air. He walked forward and held his hand out, however he didn’t feel any heat. “Well that’s strange.” The shimmering became more rapid until it formed into an oval-shaped object. It turned darker until it was a completely black sheet floating in the air. “Cool, a portal!” Without knowing why, Irrie walked through it. Everything around him melted away into darkness as he drifted into the interdimensional void. The next moments for him were rather confusing, but he eventually found himself entering into another portal. He stepped onto a rocky surface. Once he emerged completely from the portal he found himself in a barren landscape. There was no grass growing on it, nor was there any visible dirt. The sky above was black with purple clouds swirling in a chaotic pattern. He saw movement from behind one of the nearby boulders. Running over to it, he peered behind the stone. As soon as he did he felt something jump onto him. Screaming, he pulled the thing and threw it off his face, sending it rolling onto the ground. He readied his weapon and took a few steps back, waiting for the thing to emerge again. When it did, he saw that it was a Matoran, but a dark one. A Kra-Matoran with a mask of repulsion. “State the reason for you hostility!” he said. The Matoran backed away slowly, hissing with a purplish tongue lolling out of a gap in its mask. “Alright bugger, you wanna play it that way?” Irrie stomped his left foot onto the ground to tap into the earth beneath him. He churned up the soil all around the area, causing waves of dirt to ripple through the ground. He planned on using this as more of an intimidation tactic to get the Matoran to go away so that he didn’t have to hurt it. And it seemed to work, as he saw the tiny being turn around and flee, climbing over craters and boulders to escape from the new Toa. Irrie was about to celebrate his rather trivial victory as he turned around to look for a place to sit down. But rather than seeing the boulder again, he saw something rather odd. A being about the same height as him had appeared, clad in a streaming black cloak with a hood that concealed its face in a shadow. Two pale circular eyes peered out from the darkness, both of which conveyed absolutely no emotion. “Excuse yourself, sir,” said Irrie. “I believe that it is you who should be excused,” it replied. “Oh, I apologize. Excuse me, ma’am.” “What...no...I believe that you are the one at fault here.” “Really? I didn’t know that there were any earthquakes happening nearby.” “What?” “Stupidsaywhat” “What?” “HA! GOT EEEEM!” “Shut up!” “Shut what up?” “Stop talking!” “” “Thank you.” “You’re welcome.” “I said not to talk.” “Manners before mandates.” The figure took a step backward while he placed his hand on a belt that wrapped around the outside of his cloak. He grasped onto a handle drew from its sheath a sword that looked similar to a claymore. “Tell me, what are you doing here!” he said. “I would love to, but not even I know.” “You are not from this dimension, are you?” “How can you tell?” “I can sense the lack of darkness inside of you. You still have some light left.” “Implying that everyone else here doesn’t?” “Exactly. Tell me, what is the name of your home dimension?” “Dimension 3, home of the esteemed BZ-Nui and the inhabitants of said dimension.”- “Dimension 3! Sir, you must be very ignorant to willingly speak of your origins in this land.” “And why is that?” “You are within Dimension 1, the land of darkness and the realm of the Darkness^Lords! Dimension 3 is the home of an entity that killed one of the top ranking officials within our government!” “Look man, I don’t want any trouble. Who’s this person that you are talking about?” “His name is Petewa. He was the top advisor to the Darkness^Lords before he was killed by his Dimension 5 counterpart. Do you know of any of D5’s wearbouts?” “Uh, nope. Sorry, never heard of him.” “Don’t try to deceive me, Toa of dirt! I am Vainglory, one of the seven Darkness^Lords and the King of the Seventh Realm! Tell me everything you know about Dimension 5 Petewa!” He swung his claymore in the air as it crackled with purple energy. “We work together! He’s an associate of mine at my job!” “Where do you work?” “As an author, for a group called the Kanohi Force.” “The Kanohi Force,” echoed Vainglory. “So...can I go now?” “No! You will be taken to the capital city of the Seventh Realm and have your memories downloaded into our computers. From there you will be sent to an area of labor that best suits your needs.” Irrie’s backed up slowly. He turned around and broke into a sprint. It was just his luck that he felt the air around him shimmer and dematerialize as he stepped into the void. “Just my luck!” he exclaimed. “Fortune smiled on me today, as it’s rare to get a portal this size, let alone right in front of you when you need it most!” “I don’t think so!” He spun around and saw that Vainglory had followed him into the portal. Irrie quickly banked to the left and entered into another portal. He emerged into a grassy field that was very familiar to him. “Dimension 6: Cucumber Land,” he said. He summoned a floating chunk of earth from the ground and shot it into the portal, expecting for Vainglory to emerge just as it reached it. However he never did. Irrie’s mind reeled as he thought of why he hadn’t appeared. “He’s headed for Dimension 3!” Irrie exclaimed as he realized what had happened. He leapt back into the portal just as it closed back. When he arrived into the void once again, he saw Vainglory hopping into a portal that had the number ‘3’ carved into a plaque above it. Irrie quickly followed him into it. He found himself in the deserts of New Po-Wahi. “Vainglory! I challenge you to a battle!” The being turned around and faced him. Surprisingly, he accepted it. “The victor determines the fate of D3,” he replied. “Fair enough. En garde!” Irrie was, literally, blown away as Vainglory fired a wave of purple energy from his sword. He floated back onto the ground, where he then sent a line of ripples through the earth, knocking the Darkness^Lord off balance. Irrie used the break in the fighting to bring the earth below him into the air, where it swirled around and hardened, forming a gigantic humanoid being. Controlling it, Irrie launched the giant at Vainglory, who blocked the strike by the creature by forming a barrier of energy around himself. He then withdrew the energy back into his sword and shot it back out in the form of a blast, which disintegrated the giant. Irrie sent a ripple through the ground, which launched him forward, delivering a strike of his jō into the being’s torso. He spun to the side as Vainglory jabbed his claymore back at him. He then spun the staff over his head, which hit the Darkness^Lord in the back. He used his momentum to slide the jō down and around the being’s body, and jabbing it back into Vainglory’s face. He realized that he didn’t actually have a solid head, and the staff kept on gliding through the hood and tearing a hole in the cloth to emerge from the other side. Vainglory, who had seemed to have taken a huge hit from this, fell to the ground and screeched, which was a truly horrible sound. He sent a beam of energy from his sword into the ground, which launched him into the air, landing about twenty feet away. Irrie noticed that Vainglory was standing next to the oil drum that he and Bonkle saw earlier. Vainglory, who had exhausted his darkness energies, turned to a much more direct method. He picked the drum up over his head and hurled it into the air. Irrie was shocked by how quickly it moved, crashing into the Loremaster almost as soon as Vainglory had thrown it. The barrel collapsed upon striking the Toa of Earth, spilling the contents all over him. Vainglory collapsed to the ground, panting. He was surprised by how weak he was, normally he could have defeated ten Toa of Earth back in Dimension 1 without breaking a sweat. There must have been something about being in an alien realm that weakened him. He needed to return with greater numbers soon. He walked toward where Irrie lay, covered in a silvery liquid. He raised his claymore above his head, ready to drive it into the back of the Toa’s head. He drove it down, however rather than plunging into his brain, it bounced off and landed in the sand. Suddenly, Irrie rose from the pool of liquid. Vainglory knew that something wasn't right. As the liquid oozed off of him, he saw it. His Kanohi Kaukau had been replaced with a Kaukau Nuva. A new lining of gray armor was lined across his broadened chest. Newly formed muscles ripped through his arms and legs, while his jō had been replaced with a spearlike Yari. “Toa of Earth, what have you done!” “I am not a Toa of Earth, creature of evil! I am Irrie Nuva, Toa of the elements of Earth and History!” “I don’t care what kind of Toa you are! You’re all the same to me!” he shouted as he leaped into the air with his sword extended. Irrie jabbed the bladed end of the spear into the cloak of Vainglory, simultaneously blasting his newfound energies into him. This sent the being back in time, thousands of centuries before the Dimension had even been created. However little did Irrie Nuva know, Vainglory had not been defeated. In fact, when Irrie Nuva entered into the same portal that had originally sent him to Dimension 1, Vainglory had been waiting among the rocky slopes of the mountainside and slipped in behind him. He had been wandering the wilderness of BZ-Nui ever since it was created, waiting for a portal to open up that would take him home. His ancient and decrepit body was too weak to attack the Toa of Earth as he followed him through the void, and he hid among the landscape of Dimension 1 as his energies returned to him. He watched the battle between his younger self and Irrie from afar. Once they entered into the void, he contacted the other six Darkness^Lords and told them of his banishment into the past of Dimension 3. And for the first time, the Darkness^Lords know of the Kanohi Force, and now swore vengeance against two of their members. Irrie returned home and told the others of his adventure. He was now Irrie Nuva, the first Toa to control two elements, Earth and History.

    Gilead

Review Topic: http://www.bzpower.com/board/topic/20289-review-gilead/ "With every civilization of sapient species you will always have individuals who exceed expectations and advance beyond all others for the progression of their society. These people eventually disappear into legend and myth, the tales of their exploits and achievements slowly becoming more and more heroic as they are passed on through the years. Dimension 3 is no different, and the lore of BZ Nui tells of an individual named Garmatus, a brave and noble Toa who created amazing works of literature, architecture, and music. He was also known for his deep connection with the sixteen elements and his desire for solitude in his life. "Garmatus was a Toa of an unknown element who wore a mask of elemental energy and light blue armor. After he published the epic, the Konkistaholm, which accounts the adventures of a fictional Toa of Light named Konkist, his success became renowned throughout the entire island. Alas, only one copy of Garmatus’ Konkistaholm was ever made, as it was delivered orally by the author himself. Many people would gather around the city square to listen to him read out his masterful work. After publishing Konkistaholm, Garmatus founded a school of fine arts. He enlisted sixty members of the island and taught them wondrous amounts of knowledge relating to literature, painting, architecture, music, the sciences, and other areas of knowledge. "However Garmatus soon grew tired of living in BZ Metru, as the Hand of Garmatus (the name of his school) was constantly bombarded by aspiring students seeking his instruction. Thusly he and his sixty students left the city and fled to a small island on the northern coast of BZ Nui. There he and his students built a city made entirely out of quartz. Garmatus himself named the city Gilead, and made it to be a refuge for him and his students to live in quiet study for the rest of their days. But alas, Gilead soon fell into ruin. The Hand of Garmatus began to disappear over time, as did Garmatus himself and the Konkistaholm with him." *** Bonkle drew his eyes from the book and looked up at Irrie, who was sitting across from him at the table. “Wow, that’s quite a piece of history,” he said. “I know, it’s amazing!” exclaimed the Toa of Earth. “Think about it, the lost city of Gilead is still out there somewhere, waiting for somebody to find it. And if they do, imagine all of the rich and ancient lore and treasure that they’ll find waiting for them! All it would take is a short trip up to the north and some rummaging around.” “Alright, alright, hold up a bit. You’re not seriously thinking about going through with this, are you?” “Well why shouldn’t I? I myself am a Loremaster, and Garmatus was essentially the very first one despite the fact that he was never given the official title. And the Konkistaholm! The Konkistaholm, the greatest work of Bionicle-related literature to ever be conceived in our dimension could be within our grasp if we embarked on it. Think about how amazing that would be!” “I mean, it sounds exciting and all, but I still don’t know. Don’t you think that if it was easy enough for us to find, it would have been found already?” “Incorrect! That’s what they all think, and that’s the notion that deters all people from achieving their goals, the prospect of somebody else having beaten them to it!” Bonkle’s BZPad began buzzing with a notification. “Well, how about I think on it. In the meantime, let’s get back to BZ Metru to watch the Glatorian fight.” They places all of their recently retrieved books into their bags and went downstairs to check them out at the circulation desk. They then left the library and climbed down a series of stairs carved into the side of a cliff to where a ferry boat was waiting at the bottom. Several other Toa and Matoran also got on the boat as well. The ferry took them from the Creative Archipelago to the shores of the main island itself. There they boarded a long-distance personelle transport chute, taking them to BZ Metru in a mere fifteen minutes. After arriving they made their way to the Arena, located to the west of the Coliseum. The reason for the event on that day was the annual BZ Metru vs BZ Koro Glatorian battle. The Metru and the Koro had had a long-standing friendly rivalry with each other, and they often got to express it through their Glatorian fights. This year it was to be hosted in the Metru, giving them a home field advantage. They met up with Kovika, Dragon, and Dallior at the front gates. The others couldn’t come for a variety of reasons, most of them involving the Duct Tape Incident that happened the previous week. The group of five showed the attendant their tickets and then went into the stadium to take their seats. “Anybody got money on this one?” asked Irrie. “75 widgets for the BZ Koro rep,” replied Kovika. “Betting with a guy who lives over at Comic Land. I’m hoping that I’m able to catch him and get him to cough up the money before he makes his way back there.” “What makes you so confident that the Koronans will win? I’ve got 50 widgets on BZ Metru,” said Dragon, “and I’m betting against Dallior here.” With that, the announcers introduced the combatants. From BZ Koro was a fighter named Ronnix. He entered the field clad in a light suit of armor with a mace in one hand and spiked chains in the other. The fighter from BZ Metru was named Sasstun, who had a full suit of armor and a broadsword with a thornax launcher attached to the hilt. They then paused as the crowd rose for the national anthem of BZ Nui. After delivering their patriotic duty to the glory and splendor of Dimension 3, the battle began. The referee walked onto the field and raised the starter zamor launcher into the air. He fired off the empty zamor sphere and the game began. Sasstun was the one to make the first move, charging across the sandy field at full speed. When he was within striking distance he lunged forward with his blade sideways while simultaneously firing his thornax launcher. Ronnix jumped into the air and did a full front flip over Sasstun landing a blow from his mace into the small of his opponent's back when he hit the ground. Sasstun spun around with a fluid horizontal slicing motion of his sword, but Ronnix was able to jump back before it penetrated his armor. He then brought his left arm into motion, swinging his spiked chain around in the air. Sasstun took this opportunity to retreat back to the middle of the field where he loaded another thornax fruit. Ronnix followed him and eventually had him cornered at the edge of the field near the entrance gates. Sasstun fired the fruit at his arm, but Ronnix lowered the spinning chain ever so slightly, causing it to prematurely detonate before reaching him. Taking the opportunity, Ronnix swung his chain around and it hooked onto Sasstun’s armor around his lower sides. The rest of the chain then flung around and around his body, entangling him in the mess of iron links. Ronnix then, with surprising strength, pulled Sasstun to him, where he landed a strike to his helmet with his mace. The warrior of BZ Metru collapsed to the ground, unconscious. Unlike the Kanohi Force members present, the majority of the crowd wasn’t there to win bets, but to support their home representative, and they were not at all pleased to see their highly decorated champion thrown to the ground by a simple chain maneuver. They started booing and throwing cans and batteries onto the field. “Let’s get out of here before the fights break out,” said Dallior as he got up and adjusted his fez. “I’ll catch you guys later,” said Kovika, “I need to go hunt down that guy and get my money before he slips out of here.” “Speaking of, pay up,” said Dallior. Dragon reluctantly gave him 50 widgets. They waited near the entrance to the arena for Kovika to return. While they waited, Irrie and Bonkle told them about the legend of Garmatus and his city of Gilead. “Guys, don’t tell me that you’re going to go looking for this,” said Dragon. Neither of them responded. “It’s too late, they’re both committed,” commented Dallior. “Well look, if you guys are going to go off and find a city that may or may not exist, you’re going to have to tell the rest of the Force about it tonight.” “Does that mean that we can go?” “I’ll have to talk it over with the rest of the Leedurz. If you two are leaving, that means that our revenue from epic production is going to tank until you get back.” “Ghidora said that he’s about to publish one of his, right?” “Well yeah, but that still leaves us with only one source of epic-related income rather than three. Like I said, I’ll talk it over with the rest of the Leedurz tonight and we’ll let you know our verdict.” By this time Kovika had returned with a bag of freshly earned widgets and then the group headed back to the Kanohi Force Tower. They spent the rest of the afternoon doing work around the tower until it was time for them to eat. That evening, the Force decided to eat in the dining hall. They had chicken teriyaki and lasagna with a side of raw makuta fish imported from new Ga-Koro. Each wore what their opinion of being fancy was, since the first friday of every month was fancy friday at the Kanohi Force Tower. “Attention everyone,” said Dallior as he tapped his wine glass with a spoon in an ever so eloquent and sophisticated manner. “Attention. Yes, so Irrie and Bonkle have an announcement, I believe.” “Yes we do,” they both said as they stood up at the same time. “Bonkle, will you read them the excerpt from the book?” “Certainly.” Bonkle then went on to read the section from the book to the rest of the Force that you just read at the very beginning of the chapter. “That guy sounds like Homer, Da Vinci, and Confucius all rolled into one,” remarked Jakura. “He was an amazing teacher with unquestionable talent,” replied Irrie. “And it is because of this that we want to go on an expedition to find the lost city of Gilead.” “But would you ever find it?” said Pohatu, “I mean, the way this is sounding is that the tale was exaggerated so much over time that maybe this guy’s private countryside house that he went to visit every summer eventually became a gigantic city of quartz.” “Ah, but think about the benefits of it,” countered Bonkle, “if we did find this, then we would be the proud finders of Dimension 3’s greatest treasure! The name of the Kanohi Force would be known on every corner of the island, as well as their amazing exploits!” “Alright, that’s enough,” said Ghidora. “This was already discussed earlier at the Leedurz’ meeting. We voted and decided that we would sponsor your mission, Irrie and Bonkle.” “Under one condition,” interjected Shadow. “What’s that?” “You must keep a detailed record of what you encounter as you go. The north western part of BZ Nui is one of the least explored places on the island, and even after this place existing for so long there are still things up there that we aren’t aware of.” “Can do,” said Irrie. “However we’re not going to let you two go run around up north by yourselves,” continued Shadow. “So we will let you choose four people to accompany you.”Irrie and Bonkle exchanged several whispers, clicks, and odd hand gestures. “We will take Dallior, Petewa, Kovika, and Dragon.” “Good. Now go pack your bags, you’re leaving tonight.” “Wait, tonight?” “Yes, tonight.” “Why tonight?” “Just a subtle way to get back at you for making us to have to work overtime to compensate for the lack of revenue in the tower.” They then quickly finished up their meals and scampered up to their dorms. After hurriedly packing a backpack filled with seemingly random household items, they went back downstairs and said their goodbyes to the rest of the Force. “Just before we leave,” said Irrie, “how many of you, aside from those who are going with us, believe that we will find anything?” Nobody raised their hands. “Right. Okay. Well, see you guys later!” The six went over to the parking deck where they each went to their own vehicle. After engaging in a rather unnecessary revving competition, they sped out of the parking deck and into the streets of the great city, the twinkling and dazzling lights of the metropolis guiding them as they drove northward, hoping to one day find another city.
  11. Title card that's too big to fit onto this page Review topic: http://www.bzpower.com/board/topic/18931-review-vanquished-alliance/ This epic is about the Kanohi Force, but if any non-members want to make an appearance, I'd be more than happy to include you. Just shoot me a PM with your character information. A cold breeze blew through the night. On a grassy hill stood a figure clad in a lavishly decorated scarf that streamed in the wind. Poised upon his face was a silvery Miru that gleamed in the dead of the darkness. His name was Finbarr. He opened the palm of his hand and gazed onto it. He beheld a lone pebble. It was the last surviving piece of the Kanohi Force headquarters since its destruction. He remembered it well. It was the day after he had submitted his application to the force. Nobody had seen any of the members or leedurz for over a month, and so the only way he was able to apply was by throwing the paper into one of the windows in the form of an airplane. Of course, the next day involved several explosions happening from within the tower and an army of replica Bohrok marching out of the structure (said Bohrok had coincidentally disappeared from a storage building a few weeks earlier). Then many of the Kanohi Force members began to engage in elemental combat, followed by some more explosions which eventually toppled the whole thing over. The moderators had to bring in an entire squadron of Kranua, the most elite of the Vahki models. And even they had a hard time containing the situation, the conflict extending all day, into the night, and was done by daybreak the next morning. The end result went down like this: Three of the leedurz, Pohatu, Gukko Lord, and Dallior were captured by the Kranua and incarcerated. Arzaki escaped from the carnage and was never caught by the enforcement. Jakura was killed in among the conflict. T1S and Ghidora disappeared earlier that month and have not been seen since then. As for the Kanohi Force’s other members, things were not too different. Petewa and Sharkydane were found within the tower’s sub-levels while the law enforcement was scavenging through the wreckage. They were arrested, however no public files have been released on their status. Irrie was seen leaving the tower a few days before its falling. Kovika also left the tower, however this was later, during the battle between the leedurz. Both of them have been spotted at different towns throughout BZ Nui, however neither have stayed there for long, and they haven’t been seen together in the same place. This left Dragon and Tahu. Dragon escaped into the wild in a fashion similar to Arzaki in that he hasn’t been seen since his disappearance. Tahu was the only one to not escape, be killed, disappear, or be incarcerated. He was questioned by the law enforcement, however didn’t provide enough information, and was released back into the public. He then pursued a job in the growing medical and pharmaceutical industry and spent his days looking at gross bugs through a microscope and watching a weird skinless being hover in front of him to display how the circulatory system works. Now why did Finbarr know about all of this? Was he a historian that was obsessed with learning as much as he could about a long-forgotten organization so that he could write a bestselling work on it? Nay, he was simply curious, however extremely so. But it wasn’t his fascinations with disbanded factions and guilds that grasped his interest. No, it was the very composition of the tower itself. You see, after the Kanohi Force was scattered, the tower was destroyed by the Vahki. All remains of the structure were incinerated in the furnaces. All but this pebble, which Finbarr found wedged between two cracks in a sidewalk that was just outside the former location of the tower. But why this pebble? What was so special about the building? When Finbarr first picked up the pebble, he felt something odd about it. Not odd in a way that one can describe, but just...different. He took it home, and being the inquisitive individual that he was, sampled it. Finbarr has a master’s degree in geology, so he just had to have a testing kit lying around, which is both convenient for him and the plot. After doing intensive diagnostics of the stone, he made a most disturbing conclusion. The rock wasn’t there, none of the analyses that he did yielded any results. He began to research more and more into this interesting phenomena. Over the course of three years of diligently looking through old dusty books that had a bunch of boring stuff about rocks in it, he discovered that the rock was really there, but it was the energies within the pebble that weren’t. They were energies that came from the void between universes, a place only accessible via a Kanohi Olmak. And the only Olmak in the BZ Nui universe was within the palace of the moderators, a place heavily guarded by all forms of security. What did the Kanohi Force, a band of comedians formed in the depths of the Creative Archipelago, have to do with interdimensional travel? Finbarr set out to learn more. His first goal was tracking down Tahu, seeing that he was the only remaining member that was active in society. However that was easier said than done, as Tahu worked in a very obscure section of the pharmaceutical business. Finbarr decided it wouldn’t be worth the effort to schedule a meeting with him, since he didn’t want to be too conspicuous. So he started with the two ones that roamed the wild, Kovika and Irrie. He had received notification from an old acquaintance of his that there was a strange rahi spotted on the outskirts of the Legends of Chima Discussion section of the ‘Nui. That part of BZ Nui was largely deserted since the ending of the Chima line decades ago, now the only folk that travel through those lands are criminals and social exiles. One of Finbarr’s friends that was involved in BZPower’s sketchier side had gone to that part to look out for any signs of the former Kanohi Force members. Of course, his friend did this in exchange for a pet dermis turtle named Vlastimir, the Destroyer of Worlds. And so here we have Finbarr, standing on a grassy hill on the outskirts of the civilized lands of BZPower. He turned his back to the city’s burning lights and walked into the wind that came from the wild. The wild. A realm that is whispered through the walled cities of BZPower, a land that has developed into mere myth and legend. Many citizens of BZ Nui took to taking populated roads and highways in order to go to the different forums, but seldom does one venture into the wild without a malicious intent in their mind. Children are raised to fear for the wild, rumors about horrible things that happened to those who didn’t return spread like wildfires. Such is the reason why the moderators did not send their Vahki patrols out after the escaped Kanohi Force members, as they saw no need to. They were probably dead anyway. But that was not how Finbarr saw it. Nay, he perceived this as an opportunity. He began to trek over the grassy plains that was the border between the civilized and wild lands, the sounds of ferocious and untamed rahi howling into the wind. But he kept going. He saw silhouettes of Kavinika walking about on distant hills against the moonlit sky. And yet he felt no fear, as he knew that they wouldn’t dare come near him if he didn’t try to steal any of their food. He kept on walking deeper and deeper into the night. Hills upon hills he walked up and down, his legs growing numb from the constant sensation of grass swishing against his knees. Hours upon hours of walking continued, his shoulders slowly beginning to ache more and more from the weight of his pack. He then saw the sky in the east begin to glow yellow. By the time the yellow disk of the sun emerged, he was fast asleep in among the tall grasses, hidden from sight. He slumbered through the day and awoke at dusk. He gathered his meager belongings and sat off once more through the wild as the sun set and the moon rose. He could now see something in the far distance. It was a hill, but a little taller than the ones around it, and it seemed to have something positioned upon it. He grinned. This was what he was looking for.
