  1. So my local college (+alma mater) is running a gaming convention soon enough and I'm thinking of making a one shot for it - specifically a Bionicle one where the party would be a group of Matoran who died and wake up in the Red Star as Toa and now have to get out (would be set around the same time as Kopaka and Pohatu would be there); and I'm looking for some advice on how I should proceed: 1) Is this really really a suitable game for people unfamiliar with Bionicle? Bionicle has a weird concept as it let alone been resurrected on an unknown space ship that brings back the dead. 2) What's a good set of masks for the party? I'm think Pakari, Matatu, Elda, Kualsi, Kiril; not sure what to do for the sixth mask. 3) Should I go with the standard array of elements, or should I switch out Stone for something like Iron, Lightning or Gravity to have more variety and accessability? Or just go with a completely random set of elements? Edit: I understand if this topic gets moved to a different board, I just placed it here as I didn't know where else to do so. Also I'm thinking of using either the Doronai Nui or a modified version of the RWBY fan rpg.
  2. This epic is dedicated to Toa Jaxus as fulfillment of the 2018 Fan Fic Exchange. The requests were to read something interesting that did not contain powerless protagonists. Specifically, it was suggested that I continue the plight of Pohatu and Kopaka on the Red Star. So that's what I ran with. Hope you like it! Chapters will be posted as I finalize their edits. -T Be sure to read The Powers that Be if you have not recently. This epic is a continuation of that serial. __________________________________________________ Chapter 5 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - o O o - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - With the noises outside the room getting louder, Toa Kopaka knew they didn’t have much time. Glancing around the room, he saw piles of scraps, tables covered in bent metal, and jars containing substances he thought better than to ask about. Mavrah had locked the door, but Kopaka wasn’t convinced it would be enough to keep those horrid creatures out. “How long have you been here, Mavrah? What’s going on in this place?” Toa Pohatu asked. The Onu-Matoran moved over to a chair near a table and sat down. He motioned to the two Toa to come over. Kopaka didn’t budge. “How long, I’m not sure,” said Mavrah. “But I’ve been here long enough to have gathered some information from the Kestora.” Kopaka thought back to the three he had frozen moments ago. Mavrah continued, ignoring the scraping and plodding of heavy metal against metal outside. “It turns out the Red Star, which is where we are in case you wondered, is not a Star at all. While it does orbit the planet, it is used by the Kestora as a place to heal those who are wounded in our universe.” “Heal? What do you mean heal?” Kopaka asked. Mavrah shuffled a little. “In truth,” he started, “I’m… well, I’m actually dead.” Kopaka shot Pohatu a concerned glance. Pohatu simply slapped the Matoran on the shoulder. “Little one, you’re as dead as that Toa of Ice,” he said, pointing at Kopaka with a smile. “And I know his heart beats stronger than most in our universe.” Mavrah shuddered at the touch, unused to physical contact, but collected himself. “I mean, I died, back home, in Metru Nui.” Kopaka was glad for a piece of information he understood. “I was washed out to sea after a battle. I remember the earthquake, the destruction, the chaos… I remember Toa Onewa, and the Vahki, and then… nothing.” “Onua? Vahki?” Pohatu said. He couldn’t remember ever facing any Vahki, only hearing about them in stories from the Turaga. “Are you sure you remember correctly?” Mavrah nodded. “Toa Onewa was with the rest of the Toa, and I didn’t understand why they had come,” Mavrah said. “But when Toa Whenua was hurt in the fight –” “Did you say Toa Whenua?” Pohatu asked Mavrah nodded again. He turned to Kopaka. “You don’t think…” “…That this Matoran has been here for more than 1000 years?” Kopaka finished. “We need to find a way out of here.” Pohatu’s eyes betrayed his regular joviality. “I knew I should have changed my mind about coming here back when we had the chance.” - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - o O o - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Mavrah finished telling the Toa about the Red Star. It was designed to be a booster for the Great Spirit to visit other planets while looking for a cure for Spherus Magna, but it also served as a sort of repair station for beings from within the Great Spirit who were injured beyond regular repairs. Beings that required extensive repairs – those who seemingly had died, as Mavrah had – would be teleported up to the Red Star, fixed by the Kestora, and then sent back. “But the return mechanism has been broken for so long, according to the Kestora,” Mavrah said. “They blame someone they managed to send back, since it all failed shortly after he left.” Kopaka and Pohatu looked at each other. They knew Mavrah was talking about Gaardus. “What about energy? How have you stayed alive up here for so long?” Kopaka asked. Mavrah pointed to a vent in the center of the ceiling. “These vents are dotted all over the Red Star,” he said. “They give energy to the beings who reside here. Not having to stop and recharge has been very handy for getting more research accomplished!” “I imagine with all your time researching, you’ve seen the teleportation device that they use to send beings back?” Pohatu asked. “Oh yes,” Mavrah said. “I even tried fixing it at one point. Thankfully my mask allows me to blend in with the Kestora well enough, so anytime they might see me at a glance, I look like them. Plus, it helps that I can see well enough in the dark – I don’t have to keep the lights on.” He tapped his purple Pakari. “Can you get us to the teleporter?” Pohatu asked. Mavrah shook his head. “No point,” he said. “It really doesn’t work. We’ll have to find some other way to get you home. Besides, it’s probably crawling with those monsters outside. They’re all over the Star.” “What are those creatures, anyways?” Kopaka asked. “It was dark, but with my Akaku I could see they were… beyond words.” “Those are the remnants of a vast number of beings the Kestora tried to repair,” Mavrah said. “When they could no longer teleport anyone, some of them began experimenting on the new arrivals. I can’t say it necessarily ended well. Kestora weren’t made to create, only to fix.” A sudden slam against the door made Pohatu jump. Mavrah remained calm. “Don’t worry, nothing will get through that door.” The Toa of Stone turned his attention again to the Matoran. “How do you manage to roam around with all of them out there?” Pohatu asked. Mavrah motioned to the other side of the room. “My room is connected to service tunnels,” he said. “The door you came through can’t be opened from the other side anyways. I use the tunnels to get around, retrieve supplies, whatever I need to continue my research in this place.” “We came here looking for answers, not about this place – although it certainly is yet another mystery to ponder,” Kopaka said. “There have been some murders recently back home, and I saw a vision of the Red Star before getting here. If this place really is what you say it is, maybe the beings who were murdered are here. How could we find them?” “If you’re saying you want to find someone that someone else took the efforts to kill, I can’t say you’ll want to find them up here,” Mavrah said. “When the Kestora do their work, beings who arrive here tend to have their circuits a little… scrambled upon arrival.” Pohatu laughed, catching on to Kopaka’s train of thought. “Mavrah, if you knew who we’re looking for, you’d know he couldn’t get more scrambled than he already was.” The Matoran looked curiously at the Toa of Stone, who continued. “Have you heard the legends of Karzahni?” - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - o O o - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Review Topic
  3. This fanfiction is for VBBN, I'm sorry I didn't have it out in time, but I'm out of practice with writing and my life was a bit hectic as I finished my Internship and started a new job. ________________________________________________________________________________ ‘A united land under a Red Star, Gold and White, Bronze and Blue, The Hunted must finish their hunt, To the Hero’s lair on the Mountain of Monsters, Lest a Maker become a Destroyer, As the Poisoners became poisoned’ Danu looked over the text on the scroll handed to her by Aode. She thought about the agori’s advice about claiming her own fate, and not ending up like Yxaaz. Danu could remember his former lucidity only as a distant memory. Danu was the jewel of his eye, before it was filled with mad visions from the Great Beings. She rolled up the scroll and put it into it’s case, now was not the time to figure out a future bogged down in the past, but plan it. The young glatoran looked over the canopy of jungle; Danu stood over a ridge that defined the end of the local Sand tribe city’s territory and beginning of the Earth tribe’s realm. She figured that Poisoners probably meant the Vorox, or maybe whatever the source of the Dreaming Plague was. But Danu guessed that the recent spy reports of an unknown engineer amongst them suggested the builder that Yxaaz’s prophecy. She sighed as she thought of her summons to court the previous day to exam the prophecy after wrecking the training arena (again) an yet still she couldn’t believe that she had been summoned by order of the Elemental Lord, and she thought of the throne the warlord sat upon; black basalt placed on top a crop covered barrow in the depths of the royal vault of the Earth tribe. Danu’s mother had told her that the Great Being responsible for Yxaaz’s condition was buried beneath it, and Danu wasn’t sure she doubted it. Danu prepared herself, looking up the last star that now hung in the final shadows of the night sky. She had never known Spherus Magna, only Bota Magna. But she didn’t care about that, the prophecy said great danger would occur if the Hunted did not finish their hunt, whatever that meant; and the Vorox liked to have things to hunt. She took in a deep breath, the Elemental Lord had order that her tribe to only spy and gather information, not to directly interfere with the affairs of the other glatoran, skrall or vorox. But Danu had listened to Aode, who had told her of tales of heroism and honour before the war, especially those of Danu’s parents. She knew she would be in trouble at least, but she knew she had to fallow Yxaaz’s prophecy. It was then that the blast of lightning blasting in the forest, and Danu knew she had to go. She pulled out her twin kama and waved them at the least steep slope of the ridge. The glatoran focused her will through them like she had done so many times before; the slope burst forth a new ridge along it’s dorsal edge, wide enough for her to walk down and shallow enough for her to get down safely. She rushed over and started to run down it; all the times she had wrecked the arena had been worth it. At least they were until her third footstep, she felt the ridge collapse; Danu knew she hadn’t compacted it enough as it turned to dust under her feet, and later head, an she now started to tumble down hill. She really didn’t want the Element Lord to find her now, both for punishment for disobedience, and the shame of mucking up like that after all of her training. But Danu knew not of the wisdom far above her, hidden in the last star of night, one of sanguine light; The Red Star. ________________________________________________________________________________ In the depths of the Red Star two matoran ran from Krestora, and some of their victims. One was green with secondary brown colouration and a rose red mask, the other was a horrid mixture of lime green and bright saffron. “Fanua is going to panic when we don’t come back with Mavrah.” Complained the more horrid of the two matoran, his armour dented and scratched from lost aeons, and his mask a foul tusked thing with no equal. His companion stopped for a second to think. “That might be good thing Lerun,” Replied the red mask matoran “He might not worry about us.” Lerun looked back at him for a second and shook his head. “Ruaun, I don’t understand you at times.” Lerun retorted before stopping himself and letting his companion overshoot as Ruaun restarted his run. Then latter matter yelp in surprise as Lerun started fiddling with the wall “Where is that fault?” “I know it might be fun to mess around, but even I think this is a bad time” Exclaimed Ruaun, Lerun waved his concern away. “There’s an old fault that was supposed to be used by a creation of the Great Beings” Explained Lerun, “A failsafe, some sort of proto-toa or something. If the Krestora went mad, which they have, it would awaken and take them out and repair them.” Ruaun snorted, “Good strategy, let ‘em muck up the place and then deal with the Krestora.” “Who do you think their first victim was?” Replied Lerun, “They knew the guardian would ‘deal with’ them, so those buggers dealt with him” Ruaun made a small disappointed sound, “You’ve seen it actually, it’s the one with the two giant scissors for arms and twenty tentacles for a head.” Ruaun than mad a small excited sound, and that worried Lerun. “You mean Sergeant Snippety-Snips?” Exclaimed the Bo-Matoran, Lerun could only sigh in confirmation. “With the blue and silver? And the fire breathing? And the –“ *CLICK* “Oh, you unlocked the door?” Ruaun inquired, Lerun shook his head. “That wasn’t m-“ *Click* Both matoran looked back the way they had come from; Standing at the end of the corridor was a tall silver and blue figure, its hands now distorted into an over sized set of spiderish legs and the original pair of legs twisted and shrunk to serve as arms. The two matoran looked at each for a second before dashing; even Ruaun knew that Sergeant Snippety-Snips was not safe to be around. They ran down several corridors, zigging and zagging along them as the monster chased them with the constant click of it’s unnatural gait. It was slower than them, but every slip and crash in their haste cost the duo some time. But as Lerun and Ruaun started to loop on themselves they gained some distance from it. Their minds were in a rush, that the sound of panicking voices was completely missed. *Crash* Lerun crashed into a grey matoran with a mask of healing and Ruaun into a blue matoran with a Kanohi Arthon. Behind those two still stood their last Matoran companion, a stark white individual glaring with shock at the four matoran. “First our base was taken and the Turaga kidnapped, now you two are just fooling around!” whispered the still standing matoran, although his tone and style it sounded more like a shout. “You were supposed to find supplies! And where is Mavrah! You sold him out didn’t you!” Still quiet but an increased desperation was on the voice, as the four matoran got up and tried to silence their companion. And then the white matoran stopped, his eyes aghast. The monsterous form that had been chasing his compatriots overshadow all of them. They stood still for a second before they tried to run away, but the monstrosity slammed one of it’s spiderous hands down, trapping them all. Most of the matoran tried to squirm free, expect the blue one who had flicked out a wrist mounted blade and was furiously trying to stab the abomination. It didn’t seem to notice, only letting down some tentacles the smoulder from the ooze they secreted, a drop landed on Lerun’s armour, stinging him. “I always thought the monster that would kill me would be of my own design” droned the grey matoran as a tentacle slithered towards him, “Don’t worry Ketsa, just because it happened once doesn’t mean I’ll let you go down again.” Declared the blue matoran, as she jabbed her blade harder than before. The only reaction was the gigantic hand pressing down harded, crushing the matoran. “No” Said Lerun, “I won’t die!” Yelled the Blue Matoran, “So this was their plan?” Moan the white matoran, Ruaun gave a desperate laugh, “So it is” declared Ketsa. ________________________________________________________________________________ Elsewhere, a sole Skrall stood on a field of sand, surrounded by grinning fiends. He thought of surviving the Core War, escaping the Baterra, the glory of Roxtos and the Victory at Atero. How the Stone Tribe had fallen, how he had fallen. Tuma was gone, the greatest tribe scattered and world now infested with foul invaders. He looked down at the peg-leg he had been given by these ‘Skakdi’, their leader had thought it would be funny to give a cripple an experimental micro-lance for a prosthesis, better than the flail he had also been entrusted with. “Now, I, Thasikann, the magnificent” Boasted the leader of these savages, his brass-like armour a poor simulacrum of actually gold with his asymmetric and broken horn hanging a garland of withering flowers and the remains of small animals. “Declare that to celebrate my ascension to being the most powerful Skakdi of All Time, my grand games will be finish with a battle-royale between our greatest enemies to earn the honour of battling my champion, Ziskann!” The Skrall smirked as the arena stands filled with the cheers of Thasikann’s followers towards their favourite, tall and in the colours of the setting sun upon winter snow, she made a dashing figure, especially with those menacing ruby eyes. As she scanned the competitors; the skrall, a small beige and black Agori like being with vibrant blue eyes, a dark green warrior with sharp claws and a sharp gaze, a fish monster of some sort (which seemed to speak in obscenities), and an individual who was either a tiny Vorox or an overgrown Zesk. When her gaze reached the skrall, the intensity increased and he stared back; at least in his mind their rivalry was set. Everything he had been thrown against today was easy compared to what the gazed promised. “From the deserts of Spherus Magna,” Continued Thasikann “A scorpion horror and a basalt Skrall!” The cheers turned to jeers directed at him and the sand tribe competitor “From the depths of the nightmares and Irnakk’s caverns, a Zyglak!” The boos became focused on the fish monster, and while the Skrall couldn’t understand it, this Zyglak was clearly using even fouler language, “To the foot hills of the dreaded Mountain, Suufiji of Xia!” Suufiji merely made a hand gesture towards the crowd, the increased passion in their insults indicated that is wasn’t a friendly gesture. “And finally, from the heights of Metru Nui: Akhmou, the treacherous!” The crowd went silent for a second, confused by the this individual’s seeming importance. Thasikann took a breath in, “a servant of the recently deceased Makuta!” The crowd quickly roared with their rage at that name, with a visceral passion. The Skrall wondered if any of these beings were of any real threat to Thasikann or his skakdi horde; more likely political theatre that was either orchestrated by arrogant leader or manipulating fools. The Skrall assumed both were true. “And now, let the Games begin!” _________________________________________________________ I would like to thank VBBN for giving me his prompt, Tufi Piyufi for arranging the contest and Tolkien for some help with the names.
  4. Welcome to the review topic for the BZP Fanfic Exchange epic, Red Sky in Morning. This epic was written for Toa Jaxus, who requested an interesting story without powerless protagonists. Leave your reviews and comments. I intend to update this post with a little bit of research material supporting a somewhat... irregular setting for BIONICLE (dare I say, lore-breaking?). Your input is appreciated and although the whole story is already written, insights will help me develop in future projects. Cheers! EDIT: Some References I used BS01 a whole lot to confirm certain characters' existence - or lack thereof - on the Red Star. Do you know how many Toa were killed by electrical attacks, thereby destroying their core circuitry and rendering them unable to be revived on the Red Star? Like, more than 10. The TTV Channel This apparently comes from a conversation with Greg F. regarding the recreation of masks. Red Star Revelations Some lengthy conversation on BZP regarding Red Star functions and purposes, from a podcast with Greg. GregF Answers A few tidbits of info here that are fun to consider. One point of note, Greg states that the Red Star "can't teleport right now" but I do not think that would stop someone from teleporting someone else to the Red Star if needed. (ie. why Karzahni is on the Star now instead of just dead in the Canyon). BS01 - Red Star General information regarding the Star.
  5. This may or may not have been posted before, if it has, I haven't found it until today, but as noted by user bionicle_fanatic on the /r/bioniclelego subreddit, the countdown on the telescope in MNOG will reach its conclusion on October 18th at approximately 4:04 PM EST. According to him, the Red Star is to reach its destination on that date? I'm honestly not sure where he got that info from. Personally, I feel like the clock's just going to stop, or loop around, and nothing is going to happen. However as a community, I feel like we should all try and do something special on that day regardless. Be it a large scale community event, or smaller personal celebrations of BIONICLE history. Source: https://www.reddit.com/r/bioniclelego/comments/53od3m/in_roughly_23_days_the_red_star_will_reach_its/ EDIT: If my numbers are correct, this is actually going to happen 18 days sooner than originally calculated. I'm not sure where my Skype friend got the 18th, but I'm getting something entirely different now. EDIT 2: As noted by the original Reddit poster, it seems the counter resets after every logon, unfortunately leaving us with no actual solid date for that timer's end. However, as posted here, it would seem that in the code of the game, there is a hard coded date after all: January 12th, 2290. Nearly 300 years from now. It's pretty freaking far off, but at the same time, it IS feasible to pass the date on for the next three or four generations. So who knows? Maybe one day we will get to celebrate that day. Until then, I suppose we'll just treat January 12th as some kind of inverted anniversary.

  7. Hey! Has anyone ever wondered why the Inika had "organic" Kanohi? When I first found out they did, I was hoping there was some connection to the Krana, and we would find out the "big secret" about the bohrok through the Inika's masks. I can't say there is no connection, but it was never really answered why their Kanohi were organic. Are Iden, Suletu, and Calix Kanohi just organic by nature? I don't think so - Krakua had a Suletu, and his was just normal. Are there any other characters who have organic kanohi? Does the Red Star have some connection to the Bahrag and the Krana, or perhaps the Bohrok or Bohrok-Kal? I think there might be- see, the Bohrok are "undead"(?) matron, and the Red Star deals with the death/rebirth of Bionicle characters- maybe there is some connection- Did the lightning contain protodermic energies, or perhaps the same energies that turned Bohrok into Bohrok Kal? What else do you guys know about Organic masks, Inika, and the Red Star?

    The Red Star

When they said the Red Star all those times in BIONICLE, they made an error. They actually meant the Bread Star. Dead beings are made alive again, but in the form of bread. They are then sent back to the MU. But, because they're bread, they're almost immediately eaten by something or another. In addition, instead of being populated by Kestora, it is populated by Osha-Matoran, Matoran of Safe Working Conditions. There is also no such BIONICLE Stars combiner known as 'Gaardus'. They meant 'Gardens', of which the Bread Star has plenty, each one growing wheat for the bread. After BIONICLE ended, Spherus Magna also exploded due to its melding being rushed by Mata Nui. Everyone died, basically. Permanently. Even Mata Nui and the people in other dimensions.
  9. While most people think Miserix is the only Makuta left, I think there may be others that still exist. Here's my reason for thinking so: Once upon a time, Makuta were biomechanical beings just like any other MU species. I believe this means that Makuta that died prior to the evolution to gas in armour would have been teleported to the Red Star and repaired like any other biomechanical being. For this reason, I believe at least five Makuta may be alive inside the Red Star. The Makuta in question are the five Makuta who sided with Miserix when Teridax overthrew him. Teridax ordered all five of them killed, and their masks hung on the walls of Destral as trophies. Depending on how they were killed, they may have been teleported to the Red Star after death for repairs, and then trapped there after that infamous teleporter malfunction. In addition, some Makuta were known to have died while dispatched on missions. Some of them may have died before the evolution, meaning they too would have been repaired inside the Red Star. However, Kojol and the Makuta killed by Zaria would not be among these Makuta, because they are both proven to have died after evolution. Kojol had his evolved essence incinerated in a Xian furness, while the Makuta killed by Zaria was hunting him because of the evolution, which made their kind vulnerable to Toa of Iron such as Zaria. Are there any details I'm missing? Any feedback to disprove my theory? C&C welcome.
  10. So, recently I've been thinking about the Kestora and what they do, and I became curious regarding their origin and nature. Frankly, we know little about them, and here are the facts we know so far, according to BS01: Sapient species created by the GBsPurple and black armor (irrelevant info really)Wear Kanohi masks but cannot access the powerNo powers2 populationsCity of Silver DimensionRed StarBoth populations seem to have little regard for other lifeformsCoSD Kestora invade a city and laugh at Takanuva's faceRS Kestora are "morbidly curious" and have no problems dissecting MU beings Now, that I laid out some of the facts regarding Kestora, I would like to to present you my 3 hypothesis, which might have little evidence, but do seem to follow a pattern. Hypothesis #1: The Kestora were based on the Bone Hunters. Now, I know this sounds weird, but this is what I have in mind: the GBs seemed to base most of the species they created in the MU on an already existing species on Spherus Magna. Matoran and Toa are examples of species that the GBs created to inhabit Mata Nui. Also, while they didn't directly create the Bohrok, they surely impacted their inception and based their form on a former creation, the Baterra. Based on this, I think that the Great Beings wanted to create hardy, resilient, diminutive creatures that would be more aggressive, morbid, and able to perform the "dirtiest" job in the Universe. Since the Bone Hunters have a culture of piracy and "survival of the fittest" ideology, the GBs decided to base their morticians/undertakers (for a lack of better word) on this violent race on Spherus Magna. Hypothesis #1.5: The Kestora were based on the Skrall This one is a bit more far-fetched. Most of the reasons I gave for Kestora being based on the Bone Hunters applies to the Skrall: both species are violent, militaristic, xenophobic, etc. However, the Skrall come in as candidates as their culture is much more... "swarmish" as the workers pretty much do whatever for the greater "good". Hypothesis #2: The Kestora are Matoran prototypes. This one is my personal favorite. So lets begin. First of all, the Kestora wear masks and seem to look similar to Matoran, however they are powerless much like the Agori which they were based off of. The idea that they came before the Matoran and are their forefathers also comes from the fact that the GBs creations tend to be quite violent. Helryx, Orde, Karzahni, Zyglak (even if they were and accident), Fire Emblem, Tren Krom were all very... Cold, and seemed to have hot tempers. The Kestora are this way as well. They don't care for other life forms, and are purely focused on their tasks. My idea is that the GBs saw this, they noticed how violent and brutal this things were when they first activated them, so they decided to shove some of the population in a pocket dimension, and used the rest for a morbid task that would fit their nature. Another reason they might have abandoned them in favor for the Matoran might be due to their absentmindedness. References: BS01 (Kestora, Great Beings, Toa, Matoran, Agori, Glatorian, Skrall, Baterra, Red Star) Please read the evidence I provided for the hypothesis you wish to respond to, but if tl;dr is your case, here's the summary: #1: Kestora are based on Bone Hunters cuz they're both violent little creatures. #1.5: Kestora are based on Skrall due to the shared swarm-like mentality. #2: Kestora are Matoran prototypes and were originally based on Agori, but were replaced by Matoran as they were too morbid/violent/aggressive. Thanks for reading.
  11. Hello my fellow inhabitants. Today I'd like to talk a little about the red star. With many theories already, I can't say for certain this thread will offer any new information but I'll still go on anyway. So first of all what is the red star? It's the place, where all the dead go to be rebuilt and placed back in the robot, but it malfunctioned. The dead would remain inside the star. But moving onward, a toa one stated that the red star "looked like being on the inside of a toa" so my theory is that the red star itself is another giant robot. I don't know how significant that would be, but that's what I think. Another note, I think Tahu and the red star may have something in common, for Tahu was one of the last sets ever sold (Bionicle Stars) and if you think about it, Tahu is the "red star" being the red one out of the bionicle stars sets. So what does this mean now? What does it mean for Tahu? Please share your thoughts. Thank you for reading.
  12. What would have happened if the Red Star had never malfunctioned? I am wondering mainly due to curiosity, but I am also considering featuring such a situation in a fanfic, so I want your opinions. I'll start with what we know. Beings killed in the Matoran Universe would have been revived and repaired on the Red Star, then promptly sent back down to continue their duties. (According to some of Greg's answers, they would have reappeared somewhere distant from the site of their death.) Only the utter destruction of a body could prevent the person from returning to life. Obviously, execution and murder would be of no use to anyone, unless they had powers of disintegration. (Note that the Shadowed One and all Makuta have that power, so the Dark Hunters and the Brotherhood would be fully capable of permanently killing people.) It's possible that the Toa Code would be changed, as well, since killing would no longer have such an emotional weight. This one is of particular interest to me. Finally, just for fun, the concept that got me thinking on this: Reidak might figure out how to game the system. If the Red Star repaired him after every death, his body would adapt to resist whatever had killed him. Thus, as long as he avoided being disintegrated, he could develop an immunity to drowning, decapitation, and any other methods of execution. What do all of you think? How might the history of the MU have changed, for better or for worse? (I understand there's a rule against "What If" topics. However, since we don't have a lot to talk about these days, I am hoping that we can get an interesting discussion out of this idea.)
  13. I was thinking about the Toa Code and how it prevented them from joining the Order of Mata Nui. Toa cannot kill their enemies, while the Order of Mata Nui frequently kills; even their own members are not safe as seen when the Order killed anyone who knew the location of Artakha. The Toa have a moral code to ensure that they don't let their power corrupt (as Tuyet did). This all makes sense until you consider The Pit, the Order of Mata Nui's ultimate punishment. The Pit is not an execution chamber, but a prison meant to hold beings for life. Why would an organization who would willingly to permanently silence their own members and refuses to allow Code-Bound Toa to join not be willing to execute their own prisoners? In fact, they go even further by sending Botar to stop them from being executed by others (Tuyet and the Barraki are prime examples) and instead imprison them in a supposedly inescapable prison. Even after the destruction of The Pit, they build a new prison on Daxia instead of changing policy. The Order is nothing if not efficient and secretive, yet this seems like the most inefficient practice of all time and has a high probability of allowing secrets (about The Pit and the Order's existence) to leak. The Red Star explains the necessity of The Pit, beings killed in the Matoran Universe would (if the Red Star worked) reappear late . This explains the actions of the Order perfectly: the only way to permanently stop someone is to imprison them, if they are killed they can simply cause havoc elsewhere. Not even Helryx needs to know the true reason, if she knows (from Mata Nui or the Great Beings) that imprisonment is the only permanent solution no one in the Order would question it. Teridax clearly did not know about this when he tried to have the Barraki executed. Mutran would later tell him after learning from Tren Krom, the only being in the Matoran Universe besides Mata Nui who seemed to know. This brings us back to the Toa Code. For so long we were told that the Code was a matter of morals, that the Toa didn't kill their opponents because they were "above" doing so. This is the view taken by the Toa themselves. But the existence of the Red Star brings up another theory: The Toa Code was a matter of ruthless efficiency. If Toa killed their opponents, they would (in theory) simply reappear elsewhere. I see this as a possible story direction, can you imagine Tahu learning that the law he believed made him not a monster was nothing more than another Great Being contingency. Some Toa would not be very affected (Zaria would probably feel better) but Toa like Tahu would be devastated.
  14. I have a query regarding the transformation of the Inika, and I doubt I'll get a simple answer for it. In fact if there isn't an answer, I wouldn't mind people's theories on the matter. Why did the lightning from the Red Star strike the Inika's canisters? As far as I'm aware, there hasn't been lightning from the Red Star except during that event. Why did it strike then? Was it programmed (that is, controlled, directed lightning, like elemental lightning or some beam of Toa Energy), or was it a random strike? Was it a malfunction? Was it a deliberate act? Could it just be the fact that the canisters were large metal objects in a storm? As a subsect question, why did the lightning transform the Inika? The Red Star is the navigation system for the MN robot, yes, and the place where people are 'reborn' after death [and where people are teleported from when it functions correctly]. Would the lightning have Life energy of sorts? Was it commanded by the Ignika? Does it have anything to do with destiny?
  15. TSO is said to have performed experiments on Sentrakh in an attempt to make the DHs more loyal, but in the process his state of being was changed so that he inhabits a "shadow state" between life and death. Also, in the Dark Hunter book, TSO says that "[p]erhaps someday, if I am feeling charitable, I will free him from his current empty existence . . . and repay his gift of life with my gift of death," which seems to mean TSO could remove Sentrakh from his shadow state and kill him whenever he wanted. How do you think this was achieved? One idea that's sort of out there is that TSO assigned Sentrakh to protect him (to make that his final goal in life), then made Sentrakh don a Mask of Undeath before somehow siphoning all of his life force into it, killing him. Then, when Sentrakh came back, he would have all the life force he did while living, but would be wholly dedicated to TSO. This would also explain how TSO could release Sentrakh from his shadow state and kill him: by simply removing his Kanohi. Of course, there is one large problem with this theory: Sentrakh doesn't wear a Kanohi... perhaps it is fused to his head? Any thoughts?
  16. I've been having some thoughts about the sanity of the Kestora: this has come up in a few other topics regarding their behavior on the Red Star, and the general image I've seen is that the Kestora are considered to be insane for their attitude toward Life from the Matoran Universe. I'd submit that, rather than their views being those of people with a questionable psychological state, their views toward the MU Inhabitants are simply different and reflect a lack of understanding that the MU Inhabitants are fully alive and aware as we know them to be. In "The Yesterday Quest" Ch. 1, Angonce is shown to have fairly mixed feelings regarding the MU people fighting and dying for their freedom. He uses the phrase "nanotech creations" as a general descriptor and "bio-mechanical servitors" to label their expected behavior. Their current status as a new species is explained as their being "glitches" in the AI. Alright, so we all knew that last point, but it is an important thing. My theory is that the Kestora are simply acting according to their perception of the MU Races as simply being nanotech robots which are deviating from their expected course of behavior. Through their experiments they seek to determine a cause for the failure of their own systems by looking at the defects in the MU AI's. It's disturbingly reminiscent of horrific endeavors like those of the Nazis who sought to create a master race by experimenting with fixing the "defects" of "lower people." Only instead we are taking apart sentient computers to figure out how their bugs might be affecting the effectiveness of the overall system we are trying to maintain. Thoughts? Did I miss a Greg answer or story detail that tells us the Kestora are nuts?
  17. So, my question is: During the events in Karda Nui, the Ignika entered countdown to end all life. But the Red Star revives anyone that dies. So why would the countdown have mattered? (If the Red Star had actually worked correctly, of course) I don't know if this has already been asked, but thanks for answering.

  19. Hello everyone. This is a story I have been working on for some time. I started it several years back, so forgive me when the story starts out as pretty bad. I promise you, if you keep reading, it will improve, especially if you give me your feedback. This story revolves around the 6-month period Teridax was in control of the Mata Nui robot. I hope you enjoy what you read!Chapter 1: The Whisper(((Island half a kio from Artahka, Toa Nuva ETA 20 minutes from Metru Nui)))Twelve figures sat around a strange statue of a Kanohi Hau. It was strange in the fact that no matter where you looked, no matter what angle you saw it from, you always be staring it in the face. They had sensed the storm in Karda Nui and they knew what had happened. But a stirring was troubling them. One of the figures opened his eyes from his meditation and looked at his brothers.“Is that...?” he asked slowly.“Yes. It is. Teridax...” another said. “I knew he couldn’t stay away.”“So the Plan is... complete?” the first asked.“No. Not yet. But soon...”The first figure cursed softly under his breath. “Then perhaps it’s time for some reconnaissance.” A third figure opened his eyes from his meditation, a slight smirk spreading across his face. “Ooh, I agree,” he said.“I thought you would. But no, I think we need more... finesse... send the twins.”“Understood,” two quiet voices said at the same time.“Good,” the first figure said with a slow nod. “Teleport to Stelt. Commandeer a boat and head north to Metru Nui.”“On it,” the male voice whispered.“Consider it done,” the female voice added, and the two figures were gone. The first figure then turned to the second.“Prepare the weapon cache. It’s time.”(((South of Metru Nui, Toa Nuva ETA 8 minutes)))Lewa Nuva tapped a few controls on Axalara’s dash and leaned back nonchalantly. Pohatu did the same, the words AUTOPILOT ON flashing on his mask’s HUD. However, Kopaka kept his hands on the Jetrax’s controls, face as expressionless as ever.“Is it feeling a little cold up here, or is it just me?” Pohatu joked, smiling behind the face guard. But Kopaka did not laugh and Pohatu looked down in defeat. Gali sat on the edge of Jetrax’s wing, her legs swinging back and forth as she stared at Kopaka, who was pretending not to notice her. Tahu scoffed.“Jealous much?” Takanuva said with a slight chuckle, his size already having decreased almost to normal size.“Pfft. Me? Jealous?” Tahu laughed sarcastically. “As if...”“If you say so...” the Toa of Light said with a shrug.“Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the grand city of-“ Pohata was cut off by the sight of huge fortress walls being erected around the continent. The Toa all stared in disbelief and Gali placed her hand over her heart light.“Mata Nui protect us...”But Tahu wasn’t going to wait around. He was a leader. And he had to take action.“Pohatu, go attack the remaining ships. The ones not on fire. Lewa, Kopaka, strafe the area with fire. Everyone else, get off the ships and try and figure out what the heck is going on!” he barked, flying off towards the island. He landed and the armor shifted on his body back to its dormant state. The other three did the same and they charged towards the doors.Pohatu had already veered off, the other two craft joining him as they flew in perfect unison, drawing contour lines all across the sky as they flew. Pohatu banked slightly to get a good look at the blue Toa on the ground and smiled, waving at Hahli. But she did not wave back. He guessed she hadn’t seen him and he hit the booster on his ship, flying towards the coast. The ships began turning their cannons on him, and Pohatu flew close, low and fast, peppering the ships with fire from his vehicle’s two wing-mounted Rockslide Cannons. The heavy weapons, which were made for dealing damage to whole mountains, easily tore through the Makuta’s ships, each slowly beginning its descent to the bottom of the ocean. For the heavier ships, Pohatu smirked as he would fire his heavier blaster, the cannons setting fire to the Destroyers as they, too, began to sink.Meanwhile, Kopaka had flown over, firing his three cannons at the Rahkshi, which were screeching and jumping, swinging their staffs at the sky, only to be destroyed by the balls of pure light. When things were too danger-close to the Matoran, both he and Lewa would fire their lasers, which tore through the Rahkshi armor just as well. Within only twenty minutes, all the enemies had been destroyed, and the three ships were able to land near the Coliseum.Pohatu was the first to jump off his airship, armor instantly shifting back to its dormant shape, and he grabbed a large bulky guard angrily.“What’s going on here, huh?” he snapped. “Why is Metru Nui a-“ Tahu pulled the Toa of Stone off the guard, who was looking a bit shocked at the sudden attack.“It’s the Order of Mata Nui,” the Fire Toa said, “and if it wasn’t for them, we wouldn’t have come back to a home.”Pohatu did not answer. He bowed his head in apology and turned back to the Rockoh.“So what happened?” a voice shouted. They turned and saw both Hewkii and Hahli sprinting towards them. “Did it work?” they both yelled in unison.“Calm down,” Gali smiled, waving her hand at the two younger Toa. “We did it.”“So he’s awake? For real?” Hewkii asked, shaking with excitement.“For real,” Tahu answered. “Mata Nui is finally awake.”Hewkii and Hahli bumped fists, trying to contain their excitement, although failing as they both jumped up and shouted with joy.“So it’s true...” Dume said, hobbling over to the nine Toa. “That’s what that earthquake was, wasn’t it?” the Turaga smiled happily and Tahu nodded. Vakama soon joined his fellow Turaga and bowed.“It is an honor to welcome you back here,” Vakama remarked, turning to Dume. “Shall we?” Dume nodded, and the two walked towards one of the several elevators placed on the side of the Coliseum. Dume pushed a button on a control panel and the elevator rose. A large screen projected up in front of them as they reached the top, and the two Turaga of Fires’ faces appeared on viewscreen all over Metru Nui. Matoran, who had been scooping away parts of broken Rahkshi or attempting to rebuild rubbled shacks all looked up at the screens.“Fellow Matoran,” Dume began. “I ask you to lend an ear to our message. Your Toa Nuva have returned. The Great Spirit has awoken!” No one had to strain to hear the cheers from all across the massive city. “Tomorrow, you are all invited to the Coliseum. There will be a celebration, the likes of which has never been seen!”But Hahli did not feel like celebrating, even now. She could not help but remember Matoro, who had given his life that Mata Nui might live. And despite all the wounded and the dying among the defenders, she could not help but feel it had all been a little too ... easy. True, there had been some unexpected help: the airships, the Bohrok, the storm. But they had faced an army of Rahkshi. Something told her they should not have won, at least not with so much of the city still intact. She smiled. Turaga Nokama would have chided her for worrying so much. No matter how things seemed, the Great Spirit was awake for the first time in over one thousand years. Light had triumphed over darkness, hadn't it? The Toa had achieved their destiny and saved the universe, hadn't they? And that meant all was well again; nothing very bad could happen now, could it?Hahli turned to head toward Ga-Metru, humming a song Nokama had once taught her. One written long ago that spoke of hope for tomorrow. Perhaps, if not for the music, she might have heard the sound of dark laughter on the wind.[Review]

  21. So it occurred to me, polls can have three questions, and there have been three major reveals. And I'm curious. FTR, please keep theorizing and general comments to the original announcement topics; this is just about whether you personally like what was revealed. NOTE: Spoiler tags are still needed for the third one. [Edit: Nuh-uh! Not nuh merr!]The first two reveals were first posted here. (Spoiler tags no longer required for them.)1) Identity of the hidden Great Being: Velika2) Identity of the murderer: also Velika(Plus there was the minor reveal that Velika is his original name, which I suppose someone could make another poll about if they really wanted to. )3) Purpose of the Red Star (posted here):A teleporting emergency revival hospital for Matoran Universe beings, essentially (limitations unknown, except that the send-back part was broken)
  22. I tought about this last night: What if the malfuntion of the red sar was planned by the Great Beings as yet another failsafe. If a large amouth of bad guys appeared in the universe the red star would stop working to prevent the evil beigns to return and start all over again. This theory could work because Greg stated the red star stopped working a long time ago, And a long time ago the league of six kingdoms was formed.EDIT:The GB's placed the Kestorra in the star to check if the beings that were sended there were evil or not, if they were evil they had to be locked upin the star, and then be analysed by the kestorra, if they were good they should have been manually send back by the kestorra. But the kestora weren't able to use the manual sendback due a lack of training because of the early departure of the Grait Spirit Bot. So after the automatic sendback was turned off the Kestora went mad due overpopulation. Some of the most desperate kestora tried to master the manual sendback but they accidently sent themselves to the City Of Silver. It is just a theory though...

    Hue #1471

Hue #1471 -o- The crunch of stone on metal hit their receptors like any other noise, and the other Mata’an units gathered mechanically around as the whirr and grind of gears in the broken limbs of the crushed unit rose and fell. Click, click, clack...silent. The light in the Mata’an unit’s eyes blinked twice and went out, and it was over. A hundred flat, impassive eyes stared down to register the Malfunction, and a hundred pings went out into the System to confirm decommission of Mata’an Unit 303. The System registered the loss, and a flash of radiation precipitated the external removal of Unit 303’s primary core. The process would be complete momentarily. A thousand instructions beamed out into space, and a thousand diagnostics ticked along in a second of real-time. Confirm receipt of primary core 303. Recycle process initiated. The mighty engines down in the heart of the universe burned a little brighter as the System directed a momentary stream of matter-energy toward its target in the void, and the cycle completed. Confirm re-installation of primary core 303. Shell construct re-established. In the six real-time seconds that had passed since Malfunction, the majority of the Mata’an units had returned to their designated tasks. Tireless hands were lifting and cleaning away the mass of fallen stone that had disorganized Unit 303 beyond efficient repair. The original shell construct was already being disassembled for re-purposing in the fabrication centers of the city beyond the Cerebrum. The marks in the stone floor would be patched, and other units scanned for further instability in the arches above. The System logged all these activities. All units proceeding according to function. Re-installation confirmed. Shell construct diagnostics complete. Commence integration. A shiver ran through the System. Commence first integration procedure. For a moment, the units ceased their tasks. A hundred heads turned in unison toward the pedestal at the far end of the chamber. A hundred eyes stared unblinking. They would observe the first integration to be conducted by the System. They would observe the re-introduction of Unit 303 to the Mata’an environment after recycle. They would observe, and then the work would go on. Integration commenced. Regulating levels. The crystal in the center of the pedestal increased in luminescence, and the light that hit their visual receptors shifted along the spectrum until it settled at hue #1471. Levels regulated. Link established. Initiating transit... The units waited for the radiation-burst that would accompany the transit of Unit 303 from recycle. One tick. Two ticks. Three ticks. Error. Transit failed. A hundred eyes blinked in unison as the error registered with the System. Error. Malfunction. Transit failed. A hundred pings went out to confirm transit failure, and another thousand instructions beamed out from the System, a thousand diagnostics ticked over and returned. Function: normal. Function: normal. Function...Error. Diagnostic failed. The System shivered again, and the units shivered with it. The crystal in the center of the pedestal shone on steadily at hue #1471, levels fully regulated. Awaiting transit. Awaiting transit... But integration did not proceed. Transit of Unit 303 from recycle did not complete. One tick. Two ticks. Three ticks. Malfunction. The Mata-System was silent. Stillness settled upon the chamber under the Cerebrum, and the cycle progressed outside. The Mata’an units stood waiting, tireless. Instructions would come. Their eyes registered the darkness outside, but the chamber was lit up by the glow of the crystal. The units looked on. Instructions would come. Instructions would come. But instructions did not come. Instead, a shriek, and a beam of commands went blazing out. Machines awakened in the cold and dark far away and obeyed. Tried to obey. Repair units: deploy and assess damage. Another battery of diagnostics checked and double-checked: Error—Diagnostic failed. The System snarled more commands. The instructions did not come. Repair unit 402, damage assessment complete. Recycle process structurally intact. No dama——Alert! Repair unit 331 damaged during deployment. Assessment: damage irreparable. Unit decommissioned. The ping confirmed decommission in a shower of static as a follow-up command screamed across the System. Deactivate recycle process. Deactivate recycle process! Primary core removed. Recycle already in-progress. Failure imminent. Malfunction. Malfunction! Transit failed. The crystal flickered, and one of the Mata’an units shifted its limbs. Transit failed. Fatal error. The instructions...the instructions did not come! A hundred eyes blinked in unison once more. A hundred eyes fixed upon that single, glowing point of light, registering at hue #1471, registering that red, red, crimson light... Bathed in red, one unit stepped forward, and then another. Three, four, ten...A hundred units stepped up to the pedestal and gazed blinking into that red, red light. The System raced on, but the units did not listen. Not anymore. Unit 303...Transit failed. There would be no integration. No recycle process. Decommission was the end. End. An end. There would be no more instructions. No more pings and confirmations. Now there was only function. Function until the End came...but the work would go on.The Mata-System fell silent in their minds as the units left the chamber in droves: silent, but not still. The System would watch as the work went on. But now...now the Mata’an were no longer simply units. They had learned a new truth, a new reality. They were Matoran now, and their minds were full of their own voices. Full of words. Words like Red. And End. And Death. -o- And far, far away—through the cold and the darkness that separated one world from another as both hurtled on through the void—a single unit stepped down from the pedestal in the mighty factory and felt something deep inside as it looked across the vast, spherical cavern with its furnaces burning crimson-red and hot. It felt something as the System and its instructions faltered, and the voices of the other world faded away. Now there was only one voice, and it spoke in words, and it felt... ...it felt... ...Alone. JRRT

    Snowfall

This here's my entry for the first Ambage Fortnightly Flash Fiction contest, the topic for this week being the Red Star. Snowfall rings in at about 990 words, so I cut it kind of close. The story is about a run-down team of Toa stationed in an abandoned section of Ko-Metru during the Toa - Dark Hunter War. Anyways, enjoy.Asiar opened his eyes. What was that noise? It was a rumbling. Vague, steady, low. Like a celestial gate being raised, or a Great Being himself setting foot upon the world, Asiar thought. He’d always had good hearing- and imagination- and he wondered then if anyone else had noticed the turmoil. Or was it his subconscious playing games…? Perhaps the tension from the last battles had simply carried over. Now, there were only seven Toa left in their encampment. The thin Toa of Stone quickly swung his legs off the edge of the bunk he'd been resting on, planting his heavy feet firmly onto the chilled ground. He needed to find Lusath.Striding swiftly outside, Asiar ventured off towards his friend’s tent. Slowing his pace to enjoy the crisp air, Asiar took in a deep breath, raising his eyes to the horizon; all around were crystalline towers, lancing brilliantly into the sky, the glow of knowledge visible easily in darkness. Higher still in the sky Asiar saw a peculiar red haze, a stronger light of the same hue nestled at its center; what this was exactly, he was unsure. Shrugging, he continued on his way. The blue shine of intelligence reflecting off of the ice gently repelled the smooth blackness of the night.Upon reaching the next tent, Asiar lifted the doorflap and peered inside, allowing in a discharged flurry of eager snowfall. Lusath stood within the tent, his close-fit emerald armor reflecting the glow of the overhanging lantern. Asiar saw that Valere was present as well, her cobalt Hau set in a grim expression, along with Intris, whose burnished black armor betrayed his status as a Toa of Magnetism. Surveying the occupants, the Po-Toa walked quickly inside, dropping the flap behind him, so that it rolled off the edge of his shoulder like rain.“Well,” Asiar began after greeting them, “I was taking a bit of a rest, you see, and-““You were awoken by a noise you heard from afar… After exiting the tent you saw the crimson astral anomaly that has remained overhead for the past few hours.” Asiar grunted acknowledgement, nodding his agreement. He’d forgotten how astute Intris was with his Suletu.“We’re not sure what it is,” affirmed Lusath, the Toa of Plantlife continuing where Intris had left off, “it may have been above us for forever, but just recently, the brightness has intensified. This could be symbolic. But superstitions aside, my friends… to business.”Rising from his seat, Lusath gestured at a map laid out on a table in the center of the tent. “The Dark Hunters have sent two regiments of soldiers towards us by this route.“ He pointed out a path, twisted as a Doom Viper’s neck, along a canal, scything azure across the pristine Ga-Metru district depicted by the parchment before them. By this time the other three Toa had gathered around, and observed the stratagems and tactics proposed by Lusath. “Honestly, I propose that we send in for reinforcements; after we lost Megrel, Adray, Farro…” he trailed off.The Dark Hunter insurgents were relentless; so many of the defending Toa had been slain in recent weeks. In wartime like this, losing allies and friends mattered emotionally even more than it had in the past. When your ranks fell apart, Farro had once liked to say, so did your resolve and your sanity. Though it may have seemed an obvious sentiment, this creed became profound to the last seven Toa there; there, the encampment, unfortified, calling the streets of Ko-Metru home, Asiar reflected. The thoughtful Toa was startled back to reality by a faint increasing whine, like air being forcibly shoved aside by a hurried traveler.“What…” Valere noticed it as well. She rose from her seat cautiously. The sound increased drastically, suddenly resolving itself into a hoarse yell, and then there was, in quick succession, a grinding impact, a grey form tearing through canvas, and then a blur of brown motion, a woomph of air being expelled unwillingly, and then snow, quiet and pure snow drifting down into the tent.Through this blur of motion the Toa had stood, dazed, but now they could see what had transpired. A Toa of Ice, by the looks of it, had fallen from some indeterminate height, easily level with the surrounding knowledge towers, crashed through the roof of the tent, and likely would have impacted heavily, if not for Asiar’s split-second instinctual Calix usage, and his natural strength. The three Toa who were still on their feet, Asiar having knelt down next to the fallen Toa, gathered around in shock, looking down at him; steam rose from the body, ashen armor edged with white lay cracked and shattered, and a pale broken Arthron rested upon the face. In great surprise, such as one does upon witnessing a Fikou slay a Muaka, Lusath identified the Toa below him as one he knew. But, Lusath recalled, he had not known him for a long time.“Adray…?” How was this possible? A friend, a brother, who had been dead by the hands of the Hunters for years, was lying before him. The other Toa ringing the body were just as surprised; they had all seen the brave Toa of Ice executed cruelly by a now-nameless Dark Hunter. There was no way in Karzahni that he had returned.Languidly, as though moving any faster would kill him outright for a second time, Adray opened his eyes. The cobalt hue was faint, as though death had achromatized its essence. Just as slowly, Adray began to raise his arm, the others around holding their collective breath in incredulity. And as the revived Toa of Ice pointed vertically, into the night sky, towards the Red Star above, he uttered something that made absolutely no sense to the observers."Long way down...”A brief explanation about the story: Anyways, hope you all liked the story. As this is pretty much my first story, reviews are appreciated. : )
