  1. She looks up, sees a man, and stands up against the nightstand nervously. Man: No! Don't be frightened! I noticed you in the crowd. Kara: Oh yeah! Is that suppose to make me less scared. Man: Sorry! I meant I noticed your limp. Are you injured? Kara: Oh! Um! My dad and I were in an accident just down the road. I sprained my ankle. Man: Oh! Is he alright? Kara: Yeah! I used someone's cell and alerted the authorities in the next town. I'll see him in the morning. He goes over and sits on the bed. Man: Here! He places his hand beside him on the bed. She looks at his hand. Man: Don't worry! I just wanted to check your ankle. Kara: Oh! Um! Ok! She goes over, sits next to him, and gives him her leg. He pulls back her pant leg and looks at her ankle. Man: I'm Luke by the way. Kara: Kara! Luke: Kara. That's a nice name. Ooh! Yeah! It's sprained. You should probably stay in bed. I could let you know when the party is over and you can take the bus back with the others. Kara: I don't know. I don't think the person that stays here would much appreciate it. Luke: I think he'd be fine with that. Kara: And what makes you so sure? Are you friends with the guy? Luke: Yeah, but I kind of have to be. I mean I'm stuck with myself. I can't just leave me. Kara: Oh! So this is your room. Whoa! Luke: What's wrong with my room? Kara: No. Your room's fine! It's awesome, but I don't understand why you would want to live in a cave. Luke: Well, when I was young, I found out I was allergic to the sun. Kara: Oh, that's terrible. I'm sorry! I didn't mean... Luke: Oh it's alright. It's not as bad as you think. I get to live in a cave. Who else gets to live in a cave and throw parties in a cave? Kara: No one I know. So, that kind of makes you like a bat then, doesn't it? Though, I'm sure it can get pretty cold at night. Luke: Well, I guess it does. I'd say this makes me more like a vampire, but I wouldn't say I like to drink blood. Kara: Well, a vampire wouldn't want to bite me, that's for sure. Luke: And why is that? Kara: Well you see I was born with a birthmark that's shaped like a cross, and as everyone knows, vampires don't like crosses. They're the same as a kryptonite crystal to Superman. Luke: May I see it? Kara: Sure. She pulls her hair back and he takes a close look at her birthmark and then he touches it, but she moves away. Luke: I'm sorry, but that is an amazing mark. I've waited so long to see it. Kara: Huh! What are you talking about? Luke: I'll show you! He looks down and then looks up with baby blue eyes and two long fangs protruding from his mouth. Kara sees this and faints. She begins to fall backwards towards the nightstand until he places one hand behind her head and one behind her back for support. He then lays her head on the pillows, pulls back the covers, and puts her legs underneath the covers, before turning to leave the room. When out of his room, he signals to Jay and Kasey to follow him. They smile and follow him to the stage. He grabs the microphone and the dj sees him and stops playing. The crowd stops dancing and looks at them. Luke: Are you all having fun? The crowd cheers. Luke: Good! We want to thank you all for coming, but now the party is over and it is time for you all to give us some of your life blood, but don't worry, you won't remember a thing. The crowd becomes puzzled as Luke and others in the room bow their heads. Luke and the other ones on stage look up with their baby blue eyes and fangs and they all smile, except Luke. Persons in the crowd then look at those near them who bowed their heads as well. They then raise their heads and the crowd becomes frightened. Luke signals for the others to go. The crowd screams and begins to run towards the exit. Two female vampires are the first to the exit who hypnotize two men in the crowd and then bite in the throat. Kasey and Jay then spring from the stage on two unsuspecting victims. Luke stays on the stage and watches. At the exit, people begin to frantically push on the boulder to get it out of the way with no success, screaming loudly. They then turn and you see all the already hypnotized victims and the vampires walking towards them. The victims are still scared even though there are more of them then there are vampires. A strong man, still with a beer in his hand, hits the bottle against the cave wall and begins to walk towards them. Jay walks towards him as the others smile. They get within three feet of each other and the man begins to swing the broken glass shard at Jay, but misses. He tries again, but fails a second time. He gets mad and begins swinging left and right at Jay and keeps missing because of his superfast reflexes. He stops and tries once more and nicks him in the face. Jay just smiles though, as the cut disappears slowly from his face after he puts a drop of his blood from the cut on his face onto his fingertip and licks it. The man's face becomes worried and then Jay reaches forward and grabs the shirt of the man's chest. The bottle drops from the man's hand and then he too drops to the ground and you then see Jay’s hypnotizing eyes. A girl screams and then everyone else begins to scream and run again. You see some fight back, including a girl who punches a male vampire in the face. He falls back and comes back up. Her face becomes shocked because she did not feel that the blow from her punch would have such an effect, but then he comes back up from the fall and she becomes scared again. Man: I like you. I think I’ll let you remember tonight. She screams and he slowly comes after her. She continues backing up until she hits the wall and feels the tapestry with her right hand to the secret room and sees she can enter it. He then, seeing she has nowhere else to go, jumps after her. She screams and goes into the secret room running. She wakes Kara up, who screams as she sees the man grab the girl's arm, and then look at Kara and say... Man: Oooh! Seconds! The girl then tries to get away from his grip and so he pushes her up against the cave wall. As he does this, Kara jumps out of the bed and runs to the tapestry. He sees her, quickly hypnotizes the girl who slides down against the wall, and then goes after Kara. He reaches her and turns her up against the wall. He then tries to bite the side of her neck with the black cross, which in turn acts like acid on his mouth, so he lets her go and tries to stop the pain. While he does, he faces towards the exit and Luke punches him, which forces him to fly backwards in the air. Kara hurries then and runs out and the hurt vampire gets up with an angry face until he sees that it is Luke. He calms downs to a cool and then you can see the acid burn on his mouth disappear slowly. Luke: Stay away from her. She's mine! Man: I'm sorry Luke. I didn't know she was yours! You never join us. Luke: Well you do now and I'm not 'joining you.' She's special. He then turns and goes back out. You see many people lying unconscious on table and the ground and some locked up in shackles hidden below the stage with frightened looks on their faces. Luke: Kara, there is no need to fear me. I do not wish to hurt you. We do not kill. You see her hiding behind part of the boulder blocking the entrance into the cave, scared, but peering out ever so often to see the location of all the vampires. Luke continues to walk closer to her position. Luke: You are a very special person Kara. You have a gift that is like a cure to this curse that we are forced to live. This is why I can't let you go yet. Many vampires become surprised and stare between Kara and Luke. Kasey begins towards the boulder to get her, but Luke grabs her arm, so she backs away. Luke: Before you can leave, though, a ritual will be performed in one week’s time when the moon is full. We must first assemble and when the deed is done, you may go free, but until then, you must stay here. I promise no one will harm you. He reaches the boulder where she is hiding. Luke: There is no use fighting me. You will always lose. He then pulls her out from behind the boulder. She continues breathing heavily as he pulls on her arm. You can see signs of pain from her limp and the "aahs" as she is pulled back into the room. Kara: Please let me go and all those other people too. Luke: I'm sorry, but I can't let you go yet. The others will be sent home tomorrow. Ty! Lee! Two male vampires come into the room. Luke: It's time! He goes over to the nightstand and pulls out a small, old book. He opens it and pulls out some paper that he hands to Ty and Lee. Luke: Now go, so they have time to prepare. They leave and he turns to see her still hiding on the other side of the bed. Luke: Now it's time to see if you are really the prophecy. Kara: What do you mean? Luke: I need a taste. Kara: What? No! Stay away from me. She begins to turn and run to the other half of the room, but his quick speed and high fly jump abilities allow him to get in front of her. She turns again to run and trips onto the bed. She scrambles to get to the other side but he beats her and knocks her nicely back onto the bed and gets on top of her. She uses her hands to try and get him off but he grabs her wrists and holds her on the bed. She still struggles but he holds her hands above her head and pulls back her hair. Luke: Just relax. It won’t hurt but a second. I'm sorry for this. Kara: No. No. Nooo. He bites into her neck and she becomes weak and dazed. You see blood drip from his mouth and the holes on her neck down to the bed. He then lifts up and licks his blood smeared mouth. She still lies there, breathing heavily, as he gets off his bed and heads towards the wall. He pulls a cord which opens an area above his bed where there are sun-intensity lights. He then walks over to the lit area where Kara lay and places his hand in the light. He sees no damage came to his hand so he gets on the bed and lets the lights fill his body completely. Luke: The light of the sun. I've waited hundreds of years to feel its warmth and tomorrow I shall feel it and see its face again. He turns to see that Kara’s blood loss has caused her to fall asleep. You then see her blood covering her shirt, neck, and face. You see Luke later coming out of the room connected to his room. He picks her up off the bed and carries her into the other room, which is a bathroom with an old fashioned, western movie style bathtub. He places her into the tub and you see the blood come from her body and clothes into the water. She then wakes up later to find that her clothes and her are clean. She looks around and sees Luke standing near the bathroom door. Luke: I cleaned your wound and dressed it. Kara: And redressed me. Luke: Yeah! Sorry! But there was no way to get the blood out of your clothes. Kara: Sorry! You looked at my body. Luke: You shouldn't feel embarrassed; you have a beautiful body. Kara: Um. Hhhm! Luke: You have a special gift. Your blood can change our species forever. To be able to walk in the sunlight is a miracle and to see the sunrise and sunset is a blessing that we the undead have been denied for hundreds of years. Your father is lucky to have such a beautiful and gifted daughter. He then walks over to her and sits next to her on the bed. She flinches slightly and makes a cross with her fingers, but nothing happens. Luke: That doesn't actually work. I promise you're safe. She puts her hands down. Luke: You are lucky to be able to experience a world that is both dark and light; both beautiful and terrible. All we see is the dark and terrible. You don't know what it's like to never know the joys of the world and to be held captive to the blood filled hunger that resides in us; one that is never fulfilled. One that starves for more and more until the creature inside us no longer waits for the once human host. You then see her father in a wheelchair at a hospital and a couple of policeman. Officer: We still have not heard from your daughter. She is not the only one. You said she was on a bus with a group of people going to a party. Joe: Yeah! That's what she told me. Officer: All the persons that were on that bus are also missing. You see a guy in the background with a long coat listening to their conversation. Joe: Are there any leads? Officer: We know from one of the kids whose parents didn't let their child go, that the party was somewhere in the desert. We have many officers combing the desert looking for any signs of the buses or the people that were on them. Now we are going to need for you to describe what she looks like to us. He pulls out a notepad to take his description of his daughter. Joe: She is 5 foot 9 with long curly brown hair and hazel eyes. She is wearing blue jeans, sneakers, and a black shirt. Oh, and she has a birthmark of a cross on her neck. Please find my daughter. After my wife died... She is all I have left of her. After mentioning his daughter's birthmark, the man in the background looks even more curious about the story Joe is telling. Officer: Don't worry sir. We won't give up until all those people are found. This isn’t the first time this has happened. They always come back after a day or so, but it’s with no memory of what happened or where they were. The man in the background then turns and walks away after speaking into a walkie talkie. Man: Finally. We found her. They have her though. Girl's voice: Good! Now find their hideout and report back once you have her. Man: I'm going now.
  2. Open with a girl riding an old fashioned bike on the streets waving to people as she goes. She stops when she sees a young girl alone in an alley covered in a blanket looking in the garbage for food. She goes up to a stand selling fresh produce and bread. Girl: May I have a loaf of bread and an apple? Man: That'll be five pence ma'am. She reaches in her pocket and then hands him the money. Girl: Thanks! She then breaks the bread in half. She puts half in her satchel and heads over to the little girl. Girl: Hello there! What's your name? Young girl: Sarah! Girl: It's nice to meet you Sarah! She says it sadly and the young girl notices. Young girl: What's wrong? Girl: You really want to know? The young girl nods her head. Girl: Alright, but first you have to come on out of there. Young girl: Ok! She goes over and helps her out of the garbage and back on the ground. Girl: There you go! She then begins to walk away, but the young girl goes after her. Young girl: Hey wait! You're supposed to tell me why you're sad. She smiles but turns around without it. Girl: Oh right! Yeah! She reaches into her satchel and pulls out the bread half. Girl: You see, I was hungry right, so I bought a loaf of bread, but after a few bites I got full, and my mom told me not to fill myself up and spoil my appetite for dinner. If she finds out I had this bread she will get really upset and I don't know what else to do. She takes a deep breath and lets it out. Girl: So you see my dilemma? The young girl begins to think and the girl sees it. Young girl: Well, I could take it for you and then you won't have to get into trouble. Girl: Oh, would you? She nods. Girl: Wow! Thank you! You don't know how much I appreciate this. Thank you Sarah! She hands her the bread and walks back until she reaches her bike. Girl: I'll always remember this. She gets on her bike and they both wave, as Sarah runs off and the girl drives off. She continues riding with a smile on her face until she goes around a corner and sees many police and news reporters around her house. She speeds up on her bike as her smile turns to worry and fear. She drops her bike and runs up to the house only to be stopped by an officer. Girl: No, that's my house! The air fills with silence except for the breath she releases as she runs to the front door and opens it after escaping from the grip of the police officer. She opens it and sees her parents lying on the floor with police everywhere. A tear releases unto her cheek. An officer then walks up to her, picks her up, and then turns to leave with her, but she looks back and watches, not knowing her life was about to change. At the police station... A man enters the room where she sits, waiting. Man: I'm sorry to hear about your parents. They were well known, giving to every charity in the community. I'm Chief Williams and I promise we will find your parents' killer. It has become one of my top priorities. As for now, it seems you have only one family member close enough that we can send you to until we figure out who your parents placed as your guardian in their will. He is your uncle. Now Mr. Vladimir has been notified about your situation and should be here shortly. He, too, is a respectable member of our society. He has taken in many orphans and made them part of his family as he has no wife to speak of. All your belongings will stay at your home and you uncle plans to stay at the house with you with the other children until everything has been finalized. Vladimir looks through the window of Chief Williams’ office. Williams: And there he is now. The chief stands up as does she and they turn around as he walks through the door. He rushes over and hugs her. Vladimir: Oh you poor child. I am so sorry about your parents. Your father was the best brother ever. Come on dear! Let's get you home! He grabs her hand and uses his other hand to shake Williams’ hand. Williams: I’m sorry it turned out this way for your brother. He was a good man who was a respected member of our dear community. Vladimir: I know. He was always great with getting himself well known through his deeds. I only wish I could’ve saved him. Williams: Seems you and your brother have a lot in common. My only hope is that we can find who did this terrible thing. Vladimir: So you think this was a murder. Williams: So it seems. We’ll be sure to let you know if anything changes in the case. He bends down to the little girl. Williams: I am sorry for your loss. You’ll be in great hands with your uncle. The door of the house then opens and you see about thirteen children waiting for them. Vladimir: These are my other children. None are my own flesh and bone though like you, but I treat them like they were my own. Now, because of your devastating situation, you will be given extra special treatment. So, what is your name? She opens her mouth until… Vladimir: No wait! Your starting a new life now so you should have a new, better name. I’m thinking Charlotte. Girl: I… Vladimir: Ah! No need to thank me. I’m going to take great care of you. You’re family. Now you can go and take some time up in your room. I know how hard it can be to lose your parents. The children and I will work on dinner. She turns and goes upstairs and then… Vladimir: Alright children! Now I want you to cook a most delicious dinner for us tonight and to do all the cleaning. I don’t want Charlotte to have to even lift a single finger. She is not to have to work at all. Am I clear? The children all nod their hands. Vladimir: Good! Then why don’t I see anybody moving? Go! The children scurry off in every direction. Vladimir turns around and shuts the double door with a huge mischievous smile on his face. You then see Charlotte in her room sitting against the backboard of her bed with a quill, ink, and a piece of parchment paper. You hear her thoughts as she writes them down. Charlotte: As I am writing this, my life is already beginning to change. My uncle Vladimir is creating a whole new life for me. I fear I will soon forget my old life and my memories will turn to stone. He seems to be up to something, but as to what, I am not sure. This note will ensure that my memories will remain close to my heart. The key to my locket shall be hidden too, with it protecting the memory of my parents as I keep the locket with me, and the secret of my true name, which has been taken away. I will then be able to find my way home, as I will place it in a secret locker known only by myself and hidden meanings surrounding my new room. You then see her look around the room. She notices a small hole that once held a knob she spots on the floor below. She puts the note and locket in a wall socket covered by a knob. Charlotte: Good luck my dear.
  3. All comments appreciated. Thank you! The Guardian You open with the inside of an amusement park. You see kids and adults playing in all ends of the pools. Some are wearing floaters and others are diving off boards or searching for toys in the bottom of the pool that others had thrown there, as the wade pool pulls and pushes older kids and parents around. You see others trying to hold their breaths the longest and some racing others to get to the other end of a pool. You then see a young girl go up on some stairs. She climbs and climbs until she reaches the top. She then walks forward a little and stops. A holding bar and the beginning of the long twist and turn slide take hold of the girl’s view of sight. She walks slowly towards the starting point. She looks at the water flowing down to the bottom and all the turns that are in the slide. She then notices the short dark tunnel in the middle of the slide so she looks up at the lifeguard with a worried look on her face.Lifeguard: It’s alright honey! You don’t have to go down if you don’t want to.The young girl then looks down again to see her mom and dad waiting for her at the bottom, standing on either side of the slide in the water. You see that the slide goes all the way to the bottom of the pool. She smiles and waves as they wave back at her. She then takes a deep breath and stands up straight almost like she is a gymnast getting ready to start a routine. She then grabs onto the handle, takes one last look at the lifeguard, and pulls herself down the slide. She screams and laughs as she slides down until she sees the tunnel coming closer to her. Before she reaches it, she sees the inside rotate and open at the bottom before the entrance into it. A figure comes out, looks at her, and then dissipates into a puddle of water. She tries to stop, but is unable too. She becomes scared until she enters the tunnel and sees four dark emblems light up. When she leaves, she is laughing again and screaming like she did before, as if nothing ever happened. She then reaches the bottom and goes over to her parents.Mom: So how was it sweetheart?Young girl: It was so much fun mommy. Can I go again?Dad: Of course you can April. We’ll wait for you down here.Young girl: Yeah!April then hurries out the pool and starts speed walking to start the climb up the stairs again. As she does, you head towards the building with the concession area and the shower and changing rooms. You head through the concession part to the front of the building with the persons taking the money or tickets to enter. A whole row of people pay, hand tickets, and listen to which room they should go to. A girl dressed in clothes goes up to them with a piece of paper in hand.Counter person: Hello! What can I do for you?Woman: Um! Yes! Hi! I was given this application a few days ago. A Brianna told me to bring it back today. She told me she would be here today.Counter person: Oh right! She told me about you. Um! One sec.The counter person taps another lifeguard who then jumps to the counter and begins taking money and tickets. She opens part of the counter and lets the woman through.Counter person: Alright, my name is Stephanie. Brianna is on lifeguard duty if you’ll just follow me.Woman: Oh, ok! My name is Elle.Stephanie: It’s nice to meet you Elle. Now let’s see! Ah! There’s Brianna. She’s is over by the diving boards. Hey! Brianna! Your new recruit is here.Ella looks across the pool where the lifeguard Brianna is speaking with another lifeguard. She waves at Ella.Brianna: Hey Ella! Be right there!Ella waves back and watches as she hands her whistle to the lifeguard she was speaking with. He is really handsome and as Brianna walks away, she and he meet eyes. They continue staring at each other after he gets up into his chair. Brianna is then standing in front of her.Brianna: Hey there Ella! It’s good seeing you again.Ella: You too.Brianna: Alright Stephanie! Thank you for your assistance with our new lifeguard.Stephanie turns around and walks away just as Ella gets a really confused look on her face.Ella: Your new what?Brianna: Lifeguard silly!Ella: But you haven’t even conducted an actual interview with me.Brianna: Silly Ella! When you are the owner of a swimming pool and your best friend since like kindergarten finally comes home from her third year at the stupid University of Florida for a spring break and wants to work with her best friend, you don’t need an official interview thing-a-mi-jingy to know that she will be hired on the spot. So what’s new with you Ella?Ella smirks a little.Brianna: Oooooo. Is there a boy I should know about?Ella: No! There was, but…Brianna: Oh no! What happened?Ella: Nothing happened. It’s just that like all the other boys I’ve dated. I go out with them for like three dates and then I find out that they have another girlfriend they aren’t telling me about and that just makes me feel like I’m just the girl guys wanna date when something is going wrong in their own relationships. I don’t think I’ll ever find someone.Brianna: I’m sorry El.Ella: No! Don’t worry about it. I’ll be fine just like all the others I didn’t even get to really know. Hi, my name’s blah blah blah and then ‘BOOM’ there are the true girlfriends.Brianna: Don’t say that Ella. You’re great! Forget about them. Don’t forget what your mom always said. There is always something planned for every person. I’m sure I can still get you finally laid by working here and you won’t have to worry about them not calling you or having another girlfriend. I know which do, which don’t. Which are exactly you type, which have no clue and can’t take a hint. I’ll pick you someone great. In fact, I already took the liberty of picking one for you.Ella: That’s sweet of you Brianna. It really is. Seriously though, don’t you think I’m a little old to be told who I can and can’t go out with?Brianna: Okay! Okay! But I’m still gonna hook you up.Ella sighs and then laughs with her best friend as Brianna throws her arm over Ella.Brianna: Come on! Follow me! Let’s go over the basics of lifeguardiandum or something like that.Ella: Lifeguardiandum?Brianna: It’s a new things.Ella: If you say so.They continue walking back to the office building and you see the unusual shape on the slide from before peering at them.
  4. Here is another story I wrote several years ago. I'll try to add more every day, but looking over what I have for this, I'll have to finish the ending, since I have yet to do so. All comments appreciated. Thank you! Drake Open with scenes of a countryside and then of a car driving down the road.Mother: Now I know that you've never met your grandfather because of his disapproval of your father, but he feels really bad that he never took the chance to get to know you. All he knows about you is what he has seen in those pictures of you I sent to him. He also told me that he missed those letters you wrote to him.Crimson: Mom, I was seven and dumb when I wrote those. Why did he choose now to meet me in person?Mother: Well, because he is getting old and he must want to make up for everything he didn't do in his life, such as spending quality time with his only granddaughter. You shouldn't worry. He is a really great person. He lives in a huge mansion, so I am sure you won't have trouble finding something to do.Crimson: I would rather hang out with my friends, since I have to go back to school in the fall.Mother: Oh, come on Crimson! I mean, it isn't gonna be the whole summer. It's not like it's the end of the world!Crimson: It is when you have to drive an hour and a half to the nearest mall.Mother: Please just give it a chance Crimson.Crimson: Fine!Mother: Thank you! Oh, look! We're here!Crimson looks out the car window as they pull up to the mansion with amazement spread across her face. They get out and a butler grabs her bags, while she grabs her bicycle. Her mom goes around the car.Mother: Alright dear! Now I am gonna leave you, but I promise to call you later. Her mom gets back into the car and rolls down the window.Crimson: What am I supposed to call him?Mother: Grandpa, of course! He'd love that. See you dear! She drives off and leaves Crimson.Crimson: That's easy for you to say. Hmmm! She walks through the gate up to the stairs with her bike, leaning it against the hedge, and then up to the doors. She goes in and looks up and around.Crimson: Wow! Where is everyone? She begins walking further into the room. She sees a small set of stairs lead to a window and a door. Her curiosity entices her to go up and into the room. She goes in, shuts the door, and notices the only glimpse of light comes from the sun through tiny cracks of a covered window. She begins to search for the light switch. She turns it on and sees the room is filled with coffins. She gets nervous and does not realize that there is one of the standing up coffins behind her. It opens and a man walks out, he sees Crimson, and raises his hands to her shoulder. He lays them on her and she turns and backs up between two coffins. They open and she runs next to the window. They leave their coffins and begin to walk towards her. She gets scared until she realizes that there is a window begins her. She rips everything down and they hurry back to their coffins. She then runs out. She runs down the stairs and trips. Guy on the second floor...Guy: Hey! Are you alright? She looks up at him, gets up, and runs for the door.Guy: Wait! Where are you going? He hurries down and chases after her. Once outside, she gets on her bike and goes to leave the property. He comes outside, sees her, and gets on his motorped, which is conveniently located near where hers was placed. He rides after her. When she heads out on the street, a car almost hits her and sends her into the grass on the other side of the street. He gets off his motorped and rushes to her.Guy: Are you alright? She looks up at him.Crimson: Uh! Yeah! I think so!Guy: Come on! I'll help you up.He helps her up and she becomes weak and falls into his arms.Guy: I guess not.You see him pick her up and then her waking up. It's night time. She sees a man sitting next to the fireplace. She gets up and begins walking towards him.Grandpa: So, you're finally awake?Crimson: Yeah! Do you know that there are people in one of your rooms here? They tried to attack me.Grandpa: Yes!Crimson: What? But they tried to kill me.Grandpa: Only because they didn’t know who you are.Crimson: Oh! So what if I didn’t get out of there and they did kill me, would you have cared? Would you have even called the police?Grandpa: No! I wouldn’t have done either.Crimson: How could you?She turns and begins to walk away.Voice: Because I told him too.
  5. I wrote this about 5 or 6 years ago and decided I would share it with you. It's pretty long, so it'll take several days to share it all with you. I accept all critique. Thank you! Black Cross Open with four doctors running from the hospital doors at night to an ambulance arriving with its sirens on. The doors of the bus open and two paramedics and a man emerge as they bring a pregnant woman, covered in blood, out. The man grabs her hand when she reaches the ground and the woman is rushed in.Doctor: What happened?Paramedic: She was bit.Doctor: By what?Man: A man!Doctor: A man!Man: We were at home watching the TV when my wife's water broke. When we were on our way to the hospital, the car died. Since we were only two blocks away, I asked my wife if she thought she could make it, but her contractions were getting closer so we went to the nearest house. I sat her on the porch swing and went in with their permission, but when I came back out, I saw a man biting her neck. She was unable to move and when I went to try and help her, another man jumped out after me, but I knocked him to the ground, so he ran off. The other man followed and then the ambulance showed up.Doctor: No man could make holes like these. They enter an empty room where the wife is situated on the bed and another doctor prepares to deliver her baby as others try to control the bleeding and a crash cart is brought in.Another doctor: Alright ma'am! I need you to push.Woman: I can't.Man: Yes you can Caroline. The baby and you are going to be fine.Caroline: But it hurts so much Joe.Joe: I know baby, but you'll see. Isn't it worth all the pain and tears to bring our child into this world and raise her together, as a family?Caroline: Alright! I'll do it for our daughter.Doctor: Alright then! Push Caroline! Push! She begins to push and scream until the baby comes out and they all smile. The screen then begins to beep after the doctor hands the mother the baby girl and the father holds her little hand. The doctor hands the baby to the father and moves him out of the way with help from the nurses.Joe: Caroline? She drops her hand and Joe moves closer to get a better look at the situation and to consult with the doctor as the baby begins to cry.Joe: Is she alright?Doctor: Please remove him from the room.Joe: Wait! No!A nurse escorts him out of the room, he looks in to see the doctors surrounding his wife, and then you see them a few hours later sitting outside the same room. A nurse confronts him about his wife. You see him begin to cover his face with one hand and the nurse then walks away. He then speaks to his newly born daughter.Joe: I'm sorry baby! It looks like we've both lost someone special tonight, but I'll take care of you. You'll never lose me. I'll always be there for you. You'll never have to worry my sweet Kara.He then puts her near his neck, on his shoulders, and you see a birthmark of a black cross on her neck. You see a close-up of it and then you see her nineteen years later with the same birthmark in a car with headphones on. You see her listening to her headphones and moving her head to the rhythm of her music. Her father notices this in his rearview mirror.Joe: Kara! She hears him and takes her headphones off. You can partly hear the music.Kara: What?Joe: We haven't talked since we left the campus grounds. So, how was school? Did you enjoy your classes?Kara: It was alright. Classes are good. Easy.Joe: Good! Good!Kara: Now can I listen to my music?Joe: No Kara! I haven't seen you since the fall, let alone received a single phone call or an update of how you were doing.Kara: I told you! I did fine! Ok? Now if you don't mind, I just want to relax and listen to my music.Joe: Kara, give me the iPod.Kara: No!Joe: Kara!Kara: No!Joe: Give me the iPod Kara!Joe turns around and tries to take the iPod.Kara: No! Let go! Stop! No! Dad! Look out!Joe turns around to see a deer in the road and he turns the wheel hard and fast enough that the car turns upside down with Kara and Joe yelling inside the car. When it stops turning Kara crawls out and then tries to find her father on a gimp leg.Kara: Dad! Dad! Can you hear me?She goes around to the other side and tries to open the door and rips it off and holds it for a second.Kara: Whoa! Not again! She then throws it out of the way and gets down on the ground.Kara: Dad? Oh, please! She looks in and sees him with his face against the air bag.Kara: Dad?He slowly opens his eyes and weakly speaks.Joe: Kara! Are you alright?Kara: Yeah! I think I sprained my ankle, but I'll be fine! Are you sure you're alright?Joe: Yeah! Lucky for me the air bag deployed and I was wearing my seatbelt, but my leg hurts a little.Kara: I'm so sorry dad. This is all my fault.Joe: No, it's not! I should have been paying attention to the road and just let you relax.Kara: But that's what I meant dad. If I wasn’t so upset about being dumped, this never would have happened.Joe: You have a boyfriend.Kara: Had, until he thought a semi-long distance relationship wouldn't work, but it’s probably because I told him you were a police officer.Joe: Yeah, that seems to work really well.Kara: Dad!They both laugh, but when she turns her head towards the end of the car, she sees it is leaking.Kara: Oh no!Joe: What? What is it?Kara: The car's leaking.Joe: Don't worry. Stay calm. We're fine as long as there are no sparks or flames.Kara: Dad, we're in the middle of a desert in Arizona, one of the hottest states in the United States.Joe: Right! Right! Oh! There was a sign about a mile back there. It said the next town is about four miles from here. It will be dark soon so I think I'll be fine until you get back.Kara: No! I won't leave you!Joe: Don't worry Kara! I'll be fine! Just reach into the glove box and get me my gun.Kara: Ok!She goes back to the other side and opens the glove box. She pulls out his gun and notices his water bottle and grabs it too and goes back to the other side.Kara: Here you go Dad!Joe: What's this?Kara: Well we're in the desert. I'm sure you're going to get thirsty. Oh, and here. Kara reaches into her pocket and pulls out a pack of gum and hands it to him.Joe: Gum?Kara: Yeah! It keeps the saliva going.Joe: Oh, thanks! Alright Kara! I need you to help me down when I unfasten my seatbelt so I can get out.Kara: I can't do that. You'll get hurt even more. We don't even know what's wrong in the first place.Joe: Yes you can! It’ll be alright! I think I just fractured my ankle. I can still move my legs and feet.Kara: Ok dad!He reaches for the belt and gets his finger ready to push.Joe: Ready?Kara: Yes! Now!He pushes it and she holds his shoulder and head as he slowly pushes himself out of the seat to the ground. His leg is bleeding and parts of his clothes are torn and bloody as well from minor cuts. She pulls him out of the car and helps lean him up against the side.Joe: Alright, now go!Kara: It’s alright dad! You’re right! It is probably just a sprain. I can shoulder you the four miles.Joe: Don't worry so much. I can handle myself. Besides, I know you'll come back with help. She stares at him for a moment and looks around to see if a car was hopefully coming, but then bends back down beside him.Kara: I love you dad!Joe: I love you too Kara!Kara: I promise to come back with help. She gets up and begins to hobble down the road.Joe: Good luck Kara! She stops at his words and then continues. You see her a ways down the road with no sign of the accident. She is more tired now because of hot sun and injured leg. She sees the sun beginning to set and behind her in a distance from the road, you see a close-up of a cave. Next you see her at night time exhausted and hobbling real slow like. She then sees four bright lights coming from a school-sized bus. They stop next to her and a man and woman come out of the bus.Woman: Are you alright miss?Kara: No! My dad and I were in an accident. I need to get help.Man: Well, I have a phone on the bus. You can come with us and we can take you into town in the morning.Kara: Oh thank you!Woman: Alright! Come on! I'm Kasey and this is Jay.Kara: It's nice to meet you. I really appreciate this.Kasey: Don't mention it.They let her on the bus first and then they follow after giving smirky looks to each other. After she’s on, she sees that everyone looked like they were going to a rock concert and was acting like it too. She finds an open seat in the back and sits down.Jay: Alright everyone. Let's get this show back on the road.Everyone begins to scream, "Whoa!" You then see the bus move and a ways back down the road she came from, you see her on the bus on a cell phone.Kara: Yes! Thank you! Tell him not to worry about me or my leg and I'll see him in the morning. She pauses.Kara: No! I don’t want to stop these people that picked me up from their plans. Thank you though. I’ll be there tomorrow. She gets off the phone and hands it to Jay.Kara: Aaah!Jay: So everything's set then!Kara: They're coming now. Thank you guys so much. I don't know how to thank you.Kasey: No need to thank us. Just enjoy yourself tonight.Kara: I'll try, but I don't think I'll be able to, not with this leg or knowing that my father is probably worrying about me. Maybe I should go wait with him.Kasey: Don't worry! It'll be fine! Besides we’re already here.Kara: Really? She peers out the window. You then see them leave the road and drive towards the cave. They all leave the bus with Kara exiting last. The bus then drives off behind the cave. You hear music come from the cave and she follows everyone else into the cave. When inside, you see the final persons go in and two men pull on strings that are attached to a boulder to block the exit. She hobbles farther in to the cave and sees everyone dancing with a group playing on the stage. She continues through the small crowd and as she does, you see a man with two women dancing around him and watching her every movement. She gets to the other side of the crowd and notices that there is a long tapestry against the wall that is moving. As she moves towards it you see the same man behind her. She pulls back the tapestry and goes in. she finds a dark room, which appears to be someone's bedroom. She shuts her eyes and rubs her face, signifying her exhaustion when she sees the huge bed. She walks over to it and sits on it and then brings her legs to her chest, and then lifting up her pant leg to see how swollen and red it is.Man: Are you ok? The story continues in Black Cross Part 2...I couldn't remember how to add directly to here, but I got it on the Part 2 one.
