  1. Years ago I created 2 versions of my self moc, and haven't returned to the concept ever since. While looking back today I do think my concept at the time was a bit... edgy, I decided to stick to the designs but give them a much needed overhaul. Toa Poraru Aderyn You can find more images of them both on my Instagram feed.
  2. The Matoran variant of my self-MOC, Poraru. Poraru was a craftsman in a small village on one of the many unnamed islands dotting the Southern Isles. Though kind-hearted and witty, Poraru was more introverted than most Po-Matoran. While for those Matoran leading less dangerous, more comfortable lives in the lands to the North avoided adventure and peril, those living in the Southern lands more frequently struck out to explore, thus Poraru had many adventures before eventually becoming a Toa. 3. Thought I'd make a Self-MOC that’s representative of an in-universe species that’s not yet-another-blimmin-Toa, so here’s a Skakdi (Piraka). Had a blast with the colours, especially the Metallic Blue, and blocking the black to represent skin – these abs are plastic-hard.
  4. In terms of build, Toa Poraru is mostly a color-swapped Emperor clone with some minor changes, but this is deliberate since they're the same character, technically. Their torso may seem the most variant, but the structure is actually 100% the same, however instead of Armor Poraru just uses fabric to cover it up. One "non-canon" difference is that Poraru is one unit shorter - The Mata head limits posability when using a 3-length axle, but the neck looks comically long with a 4-length, however with the Emperor, I could use the cape to compensate. In Poraru's case, there is no cape and he'd look really stupid with a longer neck. However, "story-wise", Poraru and the Emprero are the same height. Backstory: Toa Poraru was once a completely ordinary and uninteresting Toa of Stone. He had some misgivings about the Toa code and sometimes was vocal about this, but other than this, he was a by-the-book Toa doing his duty. He and his Toa team protected their small village somewhere in a minor island of the Southern Isles. His life was entirely unremarkable until a few centuries before Teridax's uprising, a Makuta went mad on the Northern Continent (presumably due to a poorly conducted experiment) and went into a crazed rampage. The Brotherhood wanted to contain him, but were unsuccessful, and fearing a controversy, instead "lured" the Makuta southward. Poraru's team heard in advance of what was coming their way, and planned to intercept the enraged Makuta in a region far from their village. They succeeded in this endeavor, and together the six of them even managed to defeat the Makuta, however it was in a complete blood-rage and wouldn't give up. Poraru's suggestion to "put the Makuta out of its misery" was repeatedly rejected by the leader of the team citing the Toa Code. However, their attempts to contain the bestial creature failed, and after escaping, it headed straight for their village. By the time the Toa arrived, the village was in ruins and the Matoran massacred. This was the last straw for Poraru - the Toa Code which in the past had merely inconvenienced him, was now directly responsible for the death of those he swore to protect. Desiring vengeance, he set off to kill the Makuta, and was joined by two other Toa from his team who shared his views, while the other three remained and effectively exiled them. They tracked down the Makuta, and since they now fought to kill, their change in strategy caught him off-guard, allowing them to injure him severely. Alas, once again, their prey got away. In retaliation for the injury, it swing back to the ruins and ambushed the three Toa who refused to hunt him down. Blaming themselves for the death of their brothers, Poraru and the other two Toa swore to finally end the rampage of this crazed Makuta. On their third confrontation, thanks to the injury, they finally killed him - however only Poraru survived the conflict. Having lost any purpose in life, he began wandering about the Southern Isles. At one point, in a seedy inn, he overheard a boastful merchant from Stelt bragging about finding a source of Energized Protodermis which wasn't under the control of either the Brotherhood of Makuta nor the Hand of Arthaka. He "persuaded" the merchant to reveal the location of the font, and travelled there immediately. He knew that anyone coming into contact with energized protodermis is either killed, or, provided they yet have an unfulfilled destiny, changed. If he dies, so be it, but if this would give him a new purpose, all the better. Upon arriving to the cave, he was surprised to see that the merchant did not mislead him, and plunged into the pool. When he emerged, he saw his reflection on nearby crystal formations - he hadn't changed much, but the color of his armor was now black and silver. In his mind floated, ever present, two words - "Emperor" and "Unity". He was compelled to return to the site of his former village. On this journey, he began making some realizations. His control over Stone was gone, replaced by telepathic, telekinetic and teleconductive abilities. Then, he realized he can revert to his old form at will, and then his control over Stone returns at the expense of his new abilities. In dream, he realized his new purpose in life was to achieve absolute Unity across the known world. For this, he'd need followers. During his journeys, he sought out disenfranchised warriors, exiled Toa, former Dark Hunters and any other beings who would follow him. They returned to his old home and founded the United Southern Empire. Planning his expansion, a single problem constantly returned - Metru Nui. He hadn't the military force to conquer it, and it would never join the Empire willingly so long as it was governed by a Turaga and overseen by a Makuta. If he'd push northward gradually, annexing and conquering smaller lands and working his way up, they'd make note of the threat and send an army of Toa against him. However, he had one advantage - everyone who knew he once broke the Toa code was dead. As far as Metru Nui was concerned, Poraru was still Toa Poraru. And thus the plan was born - he alone would venture north, while his lieutenants would continue the conquest of the south. He, as Poraru, would infiltrate the Toa order, while as the Emperor would gain the support of other factions, so that unwittingly all players in the north would further the imperial cause. His plan was upended by Teridax's uprising against the Great Spirit, and during his Reign of Shadows, the Emperor fought alongside the Toa Resistance against Teridax's forces, all the while ensuring the secret of Poraru and he being one and the same didn't get out. When Teridax fell and Spherus Magna was united, the Emperor led his people to a new home, from which they would endeavor to unite this new world. Flickr Album: click here. As always, comments and criticism is welcome!
  5. Flickr My self-MOC, more or less. He's been in progress for months now, so it's gratifying to get him posted here at last. Enjoy.

  8. So, me and [NAME CHANGED] are working on a little [bLOCKED] featuring [bLOCKED], although octopus [bLOCKED] [bLOCKED] the G2 Toa Mahri [bLOCKED]. Got all that? Just kidding. I wanted to browse the forums and find out what you BZPeeps identify as for your self-MOC. Like a Ta-Matoran, a Vortixx, a Toa of Stone, etc, for future reference. Just post below what species your self-MOC is.
  9. Wow, it's been a while since I posted any of my MOCs here. I kind of fell into the habit of keeping them all on Flickr, but I've been meaning to post some of them in BBC for a while, so let's get to it. First up is Onuku, Matoran of Copper: Flickr Gallery Onuku here was my entry to the April 2015 Flickr Banner Contest and has become one of my two Self-MOCs. His build was based on an old concept of mine mixed with a fantastic design for a Toa of Copper built by Lol-Pretzel on Deviantart, and Bionicle 2015 gave me just enough dark orange to finish him up. I had been wanting to use that amazing Steampunk Akaku customized for me by Modalt Masks that has turned into my avatar on most other websites.
  10. From the icy peak: Toa Araun, Master of Ice So this is Araun, my self MOC. His story as a MOC is far from mundane. Originally, I had got a white Kanohi Hau in a mask pack when I was younger. I imagined this mask to belong to another Toa of Ice, who was originally called Aaron - yes, a human name. However, before I got the chance to build "Aaron", a school peer stole the mask. I was distraught. Flash forward to a year ago, when I was making a wage and had a debit card at my disposal. I suddenly remembered the plight of my white Hau, and what I had in store for it. I hit up Bricklink, and lo and behold, the mask was mine once more. Enamoured with the prospect of G2, I build the first version of Araun last year using the CCBS. It felt good to finally have him in the plastic, even if he wasn't as originally planned. I used a gearbox design pioneered by ToaLeewan (Which I like to call the LW1), and used blades from the second - and last - wave of Chima CHI figures to give his weapons a very ornamental look. When 2015 rolled around, Araun got a little upgrade. Introducing: Araun V1.5 Bulked up with broader shoulders, Araun's character was really starting to fill out. However, those 5M shells over the knees were only place-holders for the new armour addons that came along with the G2 sets. As soon as those came out, I could build Araun V2 - the current version. As you can see, this version's mask is painted white, so as to be in keeping with the current sets. However, he still uses the exact same LW1 gearbox as the first version had hooked up to his shoulders. To me, Araun feels really finalised, as if he were a set I bought in the store - and I wouldn't have him any other way. But, he wasn't quite the Toa I imagined when I was younger... This was. While now he's been decked out with period-appropriate sockets and has the Mata head and gears of old, the original "Aaron" that I imagined back in 2003 is finally here with me. I'll end this with a couple more photos of the current version of Araun. Enjoy! This is the first version of his G2 mask. I painted another MoF lately, which has a much slicker paintjob than this one. Here he is from the back. Here he is in his signature pose. Araun V1.5 wearing the Kanohi Vahi. A golden doppleganger of Araun V1 that I built for... No particular reason.
  11. Long ago on the mythical island of Okoto, the villagers were guarded by a mysterious being, older than time itself. He was known as the Protector of Life, as no inhabitant of the island knew his real name. The watchful sentinel resided in the mountainous terrain of the region of ice, his cavern like home filled with strange artifacts like none other found on Okoto. He has not been heard from since long before Ekimu was put to sleep, the mantle of 'Protector' becoming a tradition for the villagers to honor him. --- Gallery when public. -- Hey there! This is a moc I just recently created using a G2 Kopaka and various other parts from my collection. It's also sort of a self moc. The idea behind this creation, as you may have guessed from the lore-blurb at the top, is that Matoro from some version of the G1 universe ended up traveling through the different dimensions before ending up on Okoto. So join me as I take you through some of my design processes and ideas. Front View The torso is essentially a G2 Kopaka torso [Mostly cause i'm super bad at custom torsos and limbs.] with different armoring, and the main inspiration for the armor silhouette was a very knightly, almost MMO Paladin style armor with the very large, drooping shoulder pads. I decided to use the Matoro Inika mask and head because of two reasons, one - I'm actually a pretty big fan of how the Matoro Inika mask looks, and two, I couldn't figure out a reliable way to get a metru / mata head onto a CCBS torso without using rubberbands. Side View Not much to say about the side view, other than that I chose to use the old Y joint style hands because to me, they scream 'BIONICLE' when I see them. Back View The back view shows off that Kopaka's gear function is still active and functional, and also shows more of the bulky, tank type armoring. I decided to use the Inika Matoro feet mostly because I personally liked how they covered the back. Sword Pose So for the sword I wanted to make a weapon that wasn't silver, although I originally did toy with using Matoro Inika's blade. I eventually settled on this double edged sword using Pridak's feet, which I think have always looked good as a sword. Winter is coming. The MOC's arms and sword were specifically designed to be able to pull this pose off, and I'm glad it worked. Cave of Relics. Setting up a cave display for him was fun, and it is in no way done, but placing a bunch of stuff that he might have found around different dimensions was fun, almost a trophy hall sort of deal. -- Thanks for looking at my MOC! Feel free to comment if you want.
  12. Toa Fordian is a Toa of Sonics. While he is one of the smallest Toa out there, he is not very fast despite having long legs in comparison to the rest of his body. What he lacks in speed, he makes up for in power. He can manipulate Sonic energy, energy which he draws from the tuning forks on his shoulders, directly through his arms and packs a deadly punch. This is my self-MOC. I tried to make him relate to IRL me as much as I possibly could, even including a "watch" in the form of one of the shell add-ons. His legs are long because my legs are long, and he is indeed small compared to my other characters. Album can be found here. An album of Fordian with his Toa Tools can be found here.
  13. Alright then...I come back from a very long inactivity on here, despite what I had intended. I figured the best way for me to be active on somewhere is in the MOCing section, as that's what I tend to do. A lot. To the point, I have a story I'm currently writing, and this is essentially a MOC I made to represent the character based off of me. It can be considered a Self-MOC, and I do consider as such, although the actual Ekorak MOC is still around, and I have no plans to get rid of him. Anyway, enough talk. PICTURES! Full Album on Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/129915383@N03/sets/72157652864905808 As a short explanation, although I have not actually posted pictures of the updated modes, this character is meant to be a "blank slate" for various alterations to his body. One such mode is "Tesla Mode," as an example, which turns certain areas of his armor into...well, teslas. He also has Burst Mode, which causes some areas of his armor to emit flames, as well as a few others that I'm still fleshing out. Also, for people who don't get his name, I'm aware. It's rather unfitting. First of all, however, as a character that represents me, I am obsessed with the concept of chaos and disorder. I have no idea why. Second of all...well...story spoilers? There's a reason in the story as well. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this. I'd be happy to hear your thoughts on him, too
  14. https://imgur.com/a/jHMsN#0 This is me, as an Okoto villager. basically uses styles from the protectors of Ice, Water, and Jungle, plus my own little flair. I recolored the Air Elemental Flame Bow, and designed my own pistol that connects to the little guy's left thigh. The Bow is the Protector of Jungle's bow, just recolored, so it functions the same way. The pistol fires by rotating the barrel. I did some slight reworking of the armor, as you can see in the "Vitruvian" pictures, and the arm construction is completely different from the Protector of Ice. I know it's not that impressive, but I always wanted to built myself as a matoran, but the Matoran builds were always either really impersonal, or just odd. Thus, I finally worked up the strength to take apart some of my protectors and just build this. Any criticism would be very welcomed, as this is just my second MOC on BZP.

  16. My first physical MOC (a self-MOC, also) that wasn't either a reskin of an existing set, something almost entirely experimental, or something I found terrible or weird. (Please excuse the quality of the pictures) Toa Gabirod A Toa of Iron that was formerly a Nynrah Ghost who rebuilt his body to that similar of a Toa's to protect his fellow Fe-Matoran from foes. Later on he was given a Toa Stone from a mysterious Olmak-wearing Skakdi who acquired it from "a Matoran marching band from another dimension" and claimed he was sick of people trying to kill him for it. Toa Gabirod used it to become a proper Toa. Gabirod fought his fair share of battles alongside other Fe-Matoran that also rebuilt themselves to be stronger. Over the course of his battles he got quite damaged and had to patch himself up a couple times, much to his dismay at having to replace his broken orange armor for new red armor and having to use blue patches and bits which "wrecked his color scheme". Equipped a Kanohi Akaku (formerly a Kadin), a pair of mechanical wings he built, a sword he crafted himself out of Protosteel and a shield made by a friend with a strangely built Zamor Launcher attached to it. Some say the design of his Zamor Launcher was based on the blasters of a popular book series in Metru Nui known as "Hero Factory". 17. This is, I believe, my third topic in BCC, and it's a self-MOC. Introducing the one, the only, Makuta Miras! Current Version (3.5): Front: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Makuta-Miras/MakutaMiras/Miras31-2/img_0062.jpg Back: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Makuta-Miras/MakutaMiras/Miras31-2/img_0065.jpg Front (Wings furled): http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Makuta-Miras/MakutaMiras/Miras31-2/img_0067.jpg Version 3.0: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Makuta-Miras/MakutaMiras/Miras3/img_0050.jpg (I apologise for the bits of Rahkshi on the sides. ) Version 2.0: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Makuta-Miras/MakutaMiras/Miras2/img_0033.jpg Unfortunately, I couldn't find the ancient 1.0 and 1.5 versions, so you'll have to be happy with these. Anyway, the difference between 3.5 and 3.0 is the fact that 3.5 has better chest armour. 2.0 was kind of a low point, as Miras developed a bit of an 05 titan look, which didn't really work. Also, in 2.0, his wings were static. Which isn't good at all. The 3.0/3.5 torso is definitely one of my better ones, as the Rahkshi backbones really give it some shape. Comment, criticise, and above all else, be prepared to be disintegrated, critics! (That was a joke, by the way. I wouldn't do that. A Guurahk might, though. Except I don't have one. ) [Edit] Okay, version 3.5 has been entered in BFTGM!
  18. So, this guy was uploaded towards the end of August/beginning of September. Got erased due to the downtime. I've been wanting to re-upload the MOC because I feel it's one of my few tangible accomplishments when it comes to MOCing. He's also my Self-MOC. Moving on.... Remember him? MOCpages Brief backstory: "All Lumi must die. When a Lumi has fulfilled his purpose in this Universe, his Vessel form is taken to the birthplace of his Ancestors, where he is given enough energy and time to carve out his own burial chamber. No-one else is there to grieve his death, and he passes on, unlamented. Our tragic hero, after being "killed" in Phantom Terror's The Adventures of Sandstorm, is taken to his Home Planet, where he witnesses the deserted ruins of his Predecessors, marvelling at the sights of the enormous structures they had constructed in the peak of their civilization. He journeys on to his House's burial grounds. He sees his Wall, the wall he must tear down to bring his weakened body to eternal rest. He picks up the Hammer, the sacred artifact that the Lumi use to destroy the wall, which is rebuilt as soon as the Lumi is in his chamber, and has closed his eyes one last time. However, the Hammer disappears in a blinding flash of light. A light that even a Being of the Light cannot bear to witness. He is transported to a massive, dark, dome-shaped chamber, with only a pillar of light in its center, shining at a statue that bears significant resemblance to our hero. Much larger in size, and with mysterious-looking armor of crimson and gold. A thunderous voice breaks the deafening silence. "You have not yet fulfilled your purpose, Sevla. Now, don the Paladin's Armor, and rise to your Destiny." Baffled, Sevla looks around frantically to try and locate the source of this sound. Another flash of blinding light takes him by surprise. Suddenly, Sevla is Reanimated. In his hand, a glorious Claymore is held. It has the word Belligerence engraved upon its blade. Sevla now knows what he must do to finally fulfill his purpose, and save the remaining Lumi from the fate that awaits them." This is a little different from the previous back story, but I feel that this one is written in a slightly more mature style. Now, onto the MOC. I really love what I've done with it. There are many techniques I've used here unlike anything else I've ever done. This is thanks to a Bricklink order that I've made at the start of last summer. I now have plenty of pearl gold, as opposed to none at all previously The proportions kind of remind me of Optimus Prime for some reason. Don't ask me why I said that. Just in case someone says something about the freakishly long legs (Which I actually happen to like on this guy.) I was very pleased with how he ended up looking, but I still think there's room for improvement. Perhaps stronger joints and a bit more streamlining will do him great. I'm eager to know what you guys think, so C&C as always! Stay tuned for more MOC's till the end of January, including a PBZP and an apology MOC (Chro will know what I'm talking about)
  19. Hey guys, it's been a while since I posted, and I probably should've posted this sooner. But life gets in the way of stuff. (The images link to larger pictures) Oh yeah, this is my Flickr March contest entry, so please vote for me!
  20. Tarsus, Toa of Light V3: (For more images, click the picture above.) Version 3 of Tarsus, my self-MOC. The only designs that are the same as V2 are the upper legs and lower arms. This time, I went for a more bulky look, as opposed to the thin look of the last version. The upper arms are based on Chro's Pirai. Feedback appreciated.
  21. This is my Self-MOC, Makuta Sardrox! Notes: His name means, "Light's bane"He kills Hero Factory heroes and upgrades himself with the parts he acquires.Weapon: Shadow ExcaliburMask: Kanohi Skatten, Mask of Black Holes. It allows the user to create Black holes, but it takes quite a while to recharge between uses. Skatten is a corruption of Schatten, the German word for Shadow. I know he's mainly made of HF parts, but I'm kind of new to Bionicle, so I don't have many parts available. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/MakutaSardrox123/Sardrox/img_0506.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/MakutaSardrox123/Sardrox/img_0507.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/MakutaSardrox123/Sardrox/img_0508.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/MakutaSardrox123/Sardrox/img_0509.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/MakutaSardrox123/Sardrox/img_0510.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/MakutaSardrox123/Sardrox/img_0511.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/MakutaSardrox123/Sardrox/img_0512.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/MakutaSardrox123/Sardrox/img_0513.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/MakutaSardrox123/Sardrox/img_0514.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/MakutaSardrox123/Sardrox/img_0515.jpg Sorry about so many pictures. 25. Hello everyone. This time I'd like to showcase my first self-MOC to be posted here, and while he doesn't share my name exactly, he is one of my favorite MOCs to date. While I do feel like some gaps need to be filled up, and some angles need to be changed a little, I don't have the budget to keep on making Bricklink orders to my desire. Nevertheless, I do intend that by the time I leave for summer I will have gotten me some more pieces for revamp as well as for other MOCs. Holding Halberd Back Curved Daggers Weapons Action Pose With a Friend A little backstory: He is one of the last of his kind, a race of supernatural beings called The Lumi (pronounced LOO-MAI). He is an extremely elegant fighter, mainly uses a halberd and some curved daggers for close-range melee, and has an array of supernatural powers, including short-range teleportation and energy projection. He has secret ties with iconic characters from all around the Multiverse, and is a member of an underground alliance to which this guy and that guy also belong. They are all plotting to take down HAEMATITE, a titan ruler of a faction of the Multiverse's finest Dark Hunters. Story update in progress.... Note: This character features in BZPower Member Phantom Terror's Epic: The Adventures of Sandstorm. More story (unless someone else has any ideas) coming soon. Slideshow! Lemme know what you guys think! Edit: Added a picture of his weapons for clarity...Story update coming soon
