The Tempter and Corruption Skull Villanis by Toa TimeLord, on Flickr "I'll give you a good price on that soul of yours..." "I once was like you... now I am nothing but... corruption..." Just two fun G2 style MOCs.
After Makuta dragged Kulta back from the dead to serve as his envoy, the Skull Grinder began using the Mask of Creation to raise an undead army. However, he was initially untrained in the use of the mask, and his first creations weren't as successful as the latter additions to the Skull army. At first, all Kulta wanted was raw power - and thus the Skull Choppers were born. These massive beings were fused from the bodyparts of multiple corpses. While one of their hands was barely noticeable, small and weak, their other was an overgrown abomination of power and muscle. The Choppers were fueled by infinite rage, so much so that they would attack anything that moved - even other members of the Skull army. Kulta himself had difficulty overcoming a Chopper, so he decided to abandon his first creations. A handful of Skull Warriors were used to lure the few Choppers who were in existence into a outskirt district of the City of the Mask Makers, which was then sealed. The Choppers then proceeded to hunt down the warriors, and prowled the district, fighting one another. Had the Toa and Ekimu not defeated Kulta, the Choppers would have eventually broken out. Without Kulta to maintain control, the corpses collapsed back into the dust. The Toa were lucky not to wander into the sealed off district - or their tale would have been a much shorter one. This model was more of an experiment than anything else. I tried to make the large arm as non-gappy as possible while still making it look "good". It retains some mobility, such as at the wrist, and the elbow bends. However, the shoulder is more or less fixed, though limited motion can be achieved. The arm-swinging function works thanks to the friction method seen in 2016 Ekimu. The biggest challenge was coming up with a foot-design that could be made with the limited parts I had access to, which supported Chopper enough for him to pull off multiple poses without needing external support, and didn't look horrible. I tried to justify the use of hands and toa-feet on his feet with him being a fusion of multiple corpses, but oh well. I wanted to make his axe larger, but that was simply too much weight. The model was somewhat inspired by the elite mutant psychos from Borderlands. Finally! After a long hiatus of not building anything (that collab project I did really did drain my creativity for a while afterwards ), I'm back with a new MOC. Though I may well have made it just to show off my latest rare acquisition... Kulta's mask in Pearl Gold! Surprise, surprise - it's another original creation Skull Villain from me. Skull Smasher, a hugely successful wrestler in his previous life during the age of Steampunk and given new life by "mysterious forces", is an eloquent brute who towers above even Kulta, and could "accidentally" squash a Protector underneath his feet and throw Toa around like they were a dog's chew toy. Even Kulta himself dares not underestimate Smasher's sheer power, as Smasher could crush Kulta in an instant in one of his huge hands. But don't think Smasher is all brawn and no brains or class. Smasher is incredibly vain as far as Skull Villains go. He never goes out without wearing his feather and velvet robes, held together with his lucky golden bone. Show him a mirror or give him a camera (he'll stop mid-fight and take a selfie of him crushing his victims) and you'll probably distract the titan enough to get past him... or land the killing blow on him. Selfies are dangerous things! Anyway, onto some full pictures then! An interesting side note: He got named "Smasher" not because of his giant hands, but due to the fact that I was listening to a lot of the rock band The Offspring while building him, and they have an album named "Smash". So there you go This is actually the first time I've ever tried to do something even vaguely Steampunk themed (though my second creation done in this sort of colour scheme, the first being my dragon, Golden Furious), so it's probably not perfect. Comments, upvotes and obscure references all appreciated I might enter this in BBC#71, but it's not really Halloween-y, plus I have an idea for a horror hound for that contest anyway
They fear him. The villagers fear him, the Toa fear him, even Kulta fears him. They know as soon as they see him, it's too late. Because once he's upon you, all you can do is scream. Don't cross the Skull Ripper. Insane in life and death, Skull Ripper could care less about masks. Instead, he decapitates anyone unfortunate enough to encounter him. He collects their skulls with his deadly dual-ended blade and keeps them as grisly trophies. Skull Ripper with his blade and chain Skull Ripper without any weapons Action pose The whole idea behind this MOC started out when I was building RolloutReviews' 2015 Akamai. I removed the eyestalks from the Toa heads to attach to the sword, and I imagined Kulta standing on a mound of those heads. The idea evolved from there into a new villain, and, seeing as Water didn't have a Skull villain, I made him blue. If you have any questions or want more pictures, I'll see what I can do. is this too dark?
