  1. Hey guys! This is part one of a Canon compliant story I'm working on, set in the middle of Chapter 3 of Bionicle Legends: The Final Battle. Hope you enjoy! Pohatu, Gali, and Takanuva flew to the east, skimming over the treacherous swamp water. The Toa of Light was careful not to touch it, having been warned by his fellow Toa about the water’s mutagenic power. As the three Toa soared through the air, Pohatu and Gali brought Takanuva up to date on what had been happening. They had arrived in Karda Nui to awaken the Great Spirit, but faced opposition from the Makuta. They had been at war with the Makuta, and encountered the Matoran of Light, some of whom had been corrupted by the Makuta. The last detail sickened Takanuva. In his time spent alone guarding Metru Nui, he had come to the conclusion that he must have been a Matoran of Light in the past, though those memories were blocked. He was no stranger to amnesia, after all, so he reasoned that these must have been just more memories that he couldn’t recover. I probably worked alongside some of the Matoran the Makuta had corrupted, he thought, they might have even been good friends. I swear it – even if it means Mata Nui stays asleep, even if I have to die trying – the shadow Matoran will be cured. “They’ll pay,” Takanuva said aloud as he flew. Looking downwards, he glanced his own reflection in the water, and a brief moment of fear overtook him. It was easy to forget, but he hardly resembled the Toa he had gotten used to seeing in his reflection. His gold traded for dark gray, his right hand sparking with shadow energy, the Toa of Light was no longer the fresh beacon of hope that Takua had become upon donning the Mask of Light. What have I become? The thought rang through Takanuva’s mind, as all his past adventures came back to him. He had recently seen a world in which he saw the capacity for evil that Toa possessed, and while he had managed to put away his misgivings, the memory still haunted him. “Takanuva!” The Toa of Light looked upwards, and suddenly jumped back in the air. For the briefest moment, he saw the face of Toa Tuyet, wearing her familiar mask of Intangibility. He hadn’t known Tuyet well, but her alternate self had opposed him in a world that she ruled. It shook him to his core, seeing how evil a Toa could become. But this doesn’t make sense! Thoughts raced through Takanuva’s mind faster than light. She died as I left! How is she here? He drew a heavy breath, but only a moment after he had jumped, he saw the face of Toa Gali in front of him instead. “I can tell something is wrong,” she said in a calm voice, “what’s bothering you?” Behind her, Toa Pohatu hovered in midair, watching on with concern behind his eyes. Takanuva hovered in midair, his eyes wide with shock. When he saw Gali approach, he must have briefly mistaken her for Tuyet, he reasoned. He couldn’t help but feel embarrassed at his outburst, but he still couldn’t shake a feeling of unease. The Makuta have perverted my power, he thought to himself, I’ve been hunted down by evil alternate Toa and yet another Makuta. My people, people I’ve never met, are being corrupted and controlled, and I’ve done nothing about it. I’m tired, but the battle isn’t anywhere near- “I’m fine,” Takanuva said, interrupting his own thoughts, “just thought I saw something. That’s all.” With that, he turned back around, and continued his flight. Gali and Pohatu stayed behind for just a moment, and shared a glance at each other. Neither was convinced by Takanuva’s argument, but decided it best not to argue. With a sigh, Gali flew through the air, with Pohatu following close behind. * * * Kopaka, Lewa, and Onua took cover behind a massive tree. As they hid, a barrage of shadow attacks came from the five Makuta hovering by the tree branch across from them. For hours, the two sides had been locked in a standstill. "Any more helpful stories?” Kopaka asked, ducking as a bolt of shadow passed overhead. “I’m starting to feel like a sitting duck.” “I’ve got one,” Lewa said with a smirk, “I call it, ‘Heroic Toa Lewa Quick-Saves Everyone.’ Just watch.” “Oh, this one is my favorite,” Onua chuckled. In an instant, the Toa Nuva of Air kicked off of a tree branch and rocketed up into the air. Kopaka looked on in shock, but before anything could be done, Makuta Chirox had flown off in pursuit of Lewa. Watching as the chase began, Onua and Kopaka turned to each other and nodded in understanding. “He's taking the bait,” Kopaka muttered. As he watched the Makuta chase down the Toa of Air, he drew his Midak Skyblaster, and fired. The ball of light careened just past the Makuta, distracting Chirox and forcing him to retreat. Lewa soared back to reunite with his fellow Toa, letting out an energetic cry as he flew through the air. The three returned to their cover behind a massive tree branch, and then decided that it was Kopaka’s turn. The Toa of Ice emerged from his cover and fired a wave of ice at the five Makuta. His enemies quickly scattered to the wind, only to then fly in formation to converge on him. His unusually joyous expression dropped as the five creatures of shadow flew straight towards him. Turning back, he flew down towards the swamp, and soon found himself joined by another flier. Toa Tahu flew beside Kopaka, wearing a smug grin on his face. “Too much for you to handle, brother?” Kopaka rolled his eyes as the two dodged fire from their attackers. “Very funny. Where are the others?” "I sent Pohatu to find Gali.” Tahu quickly turned around in midair, and flung a pillar of fire at Makuta Vamprah. “What about yours?” The Toa of Ice glanced over his shoulder, and spotted Onua and Lewa pursuing the Makuta. “Closer than you think,” he said. As the two flew together in formation, they shared a rare moment of laughter as the Makuta chased them down. The two Toa weaved in and out of tree branches, flying gracefully as they dodged oncoming bolts of shadow. “Lewa must be so proud,” Tahu chuckled. As the two rounded a corner, they suddenly found themselves backed up against a pillar of rock. They both skidded to a halt, and as they began to fly back, they suddenly found themselves cornered. The five Makuta now hovered before the Toa in formation, and prepared to strike. Bitil’s mask glowed briefly, but before he could activate his power, he was suddenly struck from behind. As he scampered forward through the air, the Makuta turned back to watch as Onua and Lewa lowered to meet them. For just a moment, all was still. In an instant, it was carnage. The four Toa on each side charged the Makuta, firing blasts of elemental energy in every direction. The Makuta were quick to return fire, sending volleys of shadow at the Toa Nuva. Onua raised a chunk of Earth and hurled it, only for it to be brought to pieces by a swift move from Antroz's blade. Tahu fired a blast at Chirox, but the batlike creature parried the attack by launching a Tridax pod. Lewa was able to intercept it just in time, using a gust of wind to send the shadow leeches careening into the waters below. Kopaka sent forth an elemental attack from his blade, but Gorast's mask caused the air surrounding him to crystallize into ice. Moments later, a frozen Kopaka began falling, only to be broken free by Tahu. It quickly became clear which side had the advantage. The Toa were outnumbered and outmatched by the horde of Makuta, but it was clear that they weren't about to quit. * * * As the battle continued in the sky, a bone white, skeletal figure watched from the waters below. Stalking across stones and branches on his long, spindly legs, Krika watched as his fellow Makuta battled with the Toa and sighed, turning his gaze downwards. For just a moment, he considered leaving them to their fate. He had long been harboring doubts towards the grand plan the Brotherhood had been following, but now, the appearance of the Toa of Light in the swamp had all but confirmed what he had long suspected. The Makuta were fighting a losing battle. He looked at his own reflection in the waters below. It had been changed since he arrived, the water had mutated him into the ghastly creature he now saw. Karda Nui had changed him forever, and if he wasn’t careful, it would become his grave. So, he thought to himself, why don’t I just leave? Staring at the waters below, he remembered the stone with the Brotherhood symbol engraved upon it. If he still had it, leaving would be no trouble. He had offered it to Gali before, wanting to give her a chance. Perhaps now he could do the same. Was there still time? Could he leave his fellow Makuta to die, and escape the same fate? No, he sighed. His destiny was here, in Karda Nui. Whatever it entailed, it was his to face. As he began to hover in the air, rising toward the battle, he prepared to accept whatever destiny had in store for him. * * * “Hey! Pay attention!” Tanma cried while linked onto Toa Lewa’s back. A Tridax pod fired right towards the Toa Nuva of Air, but Tanma had been able to bat it out of the way just before it unleashed a swarm of shadow leeches on the two. “Ever-sorry, friend!” Toa Lewa said with his usual gleeful tone as he fired balls of light at the Makuta, using his midak skyblaster. “Glad you’re here, in case I get mixed-distracted.” As the two rolled through the air in circles around the Makuta, Lewa let out a raucous cheer, but found it cut short as a blast hit him in the stomach. Suddenly, Toa Lewa found his arms and legs frozen in place, as though he had been struck by a sudden paralysis. Tanma felt the blast, but disconnected from the Toa just before it hit him. He flew upwards through the air, but looked down to watch as Lewa plummeted towards the roots of a nearby tree. He started back towards Lewa, but stopped himself, as he spotted a monstrous Makuta approaching him. The Av-Matoran thought fast. With luck, the Makuta had yet to see him. He could use this to his advantage. Against himself, he chuckled lightly. This would be a rescue plan worthy of Toa Lewa’s legacy. * * * “Tanma!” The Toa of Air cried weakly, but he found his call to have no answer, as the Av-Matoran was no longer riding on his back. The Toa tried in vain to jolt his head around to look for his companion, but his focus soon shifted as his rocket boosters gave out, and his limp body plummeted towards the ground. Lewa screamed for just a moment, but stopped as he saw the tree roots down below, ready to catch his fall. It could be worse, I suppose, he thought to himself, just before he collided with the ground. His body ached in pain from the impact. Only inches of wood now protected Lewa from the waters below, and the Toa of Air watched helplessly as the black and green figure of Makuta Gorast landed beside him. * * * “Oh, this is perfect,” Gorast sneered, perched upon a tree branch just next to the Toa of Air. “I have always wanted an Air Toa for a trophy.” She pulled back her Nynrah Ghost blaster, and began charging another attack. “Hey!” Lewa just barely found the energy to talk, still struggling in vain to rise to his feet. “Listen-hear close, Makuta, for I have something you may want.” Gorast knew this was a bluff, of course, but felt compelled to entertain him. After all, she reasoned, I may as well offer him this much in his last moments. She lowered her blaster to the ground, and met the Toa’s eyes. “Well? What is it?” Lewa smirked. “A distraction.” Before Gorast could react, something struck her in the back of her head. Turning back, she came mask to mask with the green armored Av-Matoran, hovering in place as his rocket booster propelled him. “Well,” Tanma said, “I suppose this is a story for heroic Tanma?” He rushed out the last word, and quickly flew off towards the other Toa and Makuta. Gorast growled in frustration, before turning her attention back to the paralyzed Toa that lay before her. To her shock, however, Lewa was back on his feet. “Wore off, I guess.” Lewa smirked, and charged forward with his Air Sword. The Makuta blocked his attack with two of her sharp claws, and quickly retaliated with her other two hands. Lewa dodged out of the way just before she could sink her claws into him, and took off into the sky once more. Gorast chuckled, and beat her wings as she began her pursuit anew.
  2. "Gathered friends. Listen again to our legend... of the BIONICLE." I wanted to celebrate Mask of Light's 20th. We all know, I'm sure, that it's not the greatest movie out there by a long shot: but on a personal level it's still one with incredible significance to me. It's one HUGE part of my... well, not really childhood, it just slightly missed that, more like teenagerhood? It came along just after I'd started Secondary School (i.e. UK middle-to-high school) and was feeling very self-conscious about the move up there; having something so new and fantastic from my then-favourite fandom to latch onto... I can hardly overstate what a massive help that was in keeping me grounded. Very happy 20th, Mask of Light; and an immense thank-you to all those who made it a reality just when I needed it most.
  3. No story for this guy, I just wanted to try and convert my old MOC into something cooler. Feel free to comment on MOC and its diorama. What do you find interesting and what 3d parts do you like the best.
  4. What is the meaning behind this dialogue in the Mask of Light movie: Makuta: Well played, Toa. Now, I will protect Mata-Nui from you. Takanuva: Protect him? Makuta: Sleep spares him pain. Awake, he suffers. Takanuva: You - are not protecting him! Makuta: My duty is to the Mask of Shadows! How is Makuta "protecting" Mata-Nui from the Toa? How would Mata-Nui suffer if awake? And what does Makuta mean that his duty is to the Kraahkan?
  5. Hey all, just wanted to get the word out that I've listed the Takanuva set I have on ebay, he's up for bid right now. By the time the bidding period is up, I'll be able to send it out to the lucky winner in time for Christmas, so if you've been wanting to get your hands on one of these (or give him to someone special) now's the time! Ebay listing is linked below. Cheers! http://ebay.us/RGEvhb?cmpnId=5338273189
  6. as always: "TIME TO ROUGH THAT CHUMP TERRY UP GOOD!!!" had this lying around as a sketch since last year and forgot about it. might as well make it a little nicer. all digital since digital lets me ctrl+z & hue shift and i am one lazy man. used clipstudio paint to make it but you could probably do it in most drawing programs just as easily. here's the sketch in case anyone is interested. take care bioboys n girls until we meet again
  7. I see them as Matoran buddies and as Takua becomes Takanuva, and then a year later (not counting the flashbacks years, because thats what they are, flashbacks)Jaller becomes a Toa Inika, and then a Toa Mahri. And Takanuv returns in 2008 as the "Shadow Takanuva" Imagine how cute it would be if they both met eachother, now both as Toa.
  8. I was surprised to see my all-time favourite Bionicle showdown at the Fairview Mall LEGO Store in Toronto this past Saturday. However, I don't know how "official" this is. It says it was built by a Master Builder, but I don't know if this is just a one-off creation for this store only, or if the instructions came from higher up. Regardless, I just thought you would like to see it.
  9. A collab between ...The Chosen One... and myself, this is Takanuva and Makuta having a fancy showdown. And some fancy non-entry style extra individual shots! (Each photo links to flickr where you can see more shots of each) Takanuva (DeeVee): Makuta (...The Chosen One...):

  11. The poll was inspired by this discussion. I'd like to hear your opinions.
  12. Gallery “You are an absolute in these uncertain times. Your past is forgotten, and your future is an empty book. You must find your own destiny, my brave adventurer.” - Turaga Nokama Takanuva is one of my favorite Bionicle characters, and the Avohkii one of my favorite masks. So at Brickfair I commissioned a pearl gold Mask of Light from Modalt and set out to do a reimagining of the Toa of Light, fittingly coinciding with the end of an onslaught of contest Makuta. I've tried to go for the feel of an adventurer, rather than an armored warrior, reflecting the affinity for exploration Takanuva has and the chances he's got for it now on Spherus Magna. It was also pretty fun using translucent pieces to represent his versatile elemental powers. I hope you'll let me know what you think, and enjoy!
  13. This story of Takanuva takes place during his time traveling through realities. Here's where you can talk about it.
  14. TAKANUVA STARS MOC by Toa Imrukii The Idea for this MOC back to me way back when, when the Stars originally came out I always had a curious concept of making proper Stars figures, but had no idea of the means to do such. Now that I have relocated the specific parts from much of the sets (a project I'm still in the works of), and so hopefully in time I can make the others as proper sized figures. Pose Front back Battle part 1 Battle part 2 Battle part 3 Victory
  15. 'Ello there I made another drawing. Well, it's more like a WIP but I don't know when I'll get the chance to finish it. As always, click the thumbnail Click here for Takanuva only, without the background. I must say I'm enjoying making random crossovers with Takanuva. The best part is that he did travel across dimensions for a while
  16. Hey! It's a crossover and it's not about TRON! When I was a child I was really obsessed with Super Sayans from Dragon Ball. I wanted to see a Super Sayan version of everything. A couple of days ago I was thinking that Takanuva is the only Toa who might have a golden aura like them... Then this happened. <-- CLICK ME! I tried to give the armor a Dragon Ball feel. Comments are very welcome, please let me know what you think!

  18. Think about it. First, he also has some ability over shadow. He can do this by sucking the light out of an area, as we've seen Vakama do it before. He couldn't fire bolts of shadow, unless in his Karda Nui form, but he could create fields of shadow, darken a room, and blind someone. Also, in theory, he could make it so he almost never naturally dies by having atoms of his vital organs move at the speed of light, and then back to him. Those is a little sketchier, but it still makes some sense. He also could have superspeed. Running at the speed of light, nothing could outrun him. Who needs a Kakama? I think there are even more things like this. Tell me what you think and some other overpowers.
  19. Hi all! First attempt at fanfiction, inspired by a discussion about the ridiculousness of the Kanohi Faxon. It got me thinking about creative ways one could annoy people using the mask- and what might happen to Jaller if he and Hahli ever had a massive argument. Basically it takes the good old "wife makes husband sleep on couch" cliche in a new direction. A bit fluffy, a bit cracky, and definitely shippy (Jaller x Hahli or Jaller x Hahli x Takanuva, depending on your interpretation)- I thought the style was more like a short story, though it could easily qualify as a comedy, so please move if appropriate. The idea was for a silly fic that was still mostly consistent with the canon "rules". Enjoy! The Argument For the third evening in a row, Toa Jaller was regretting not being a bit more discerning when he bought the furniture for his home in New Atero. Not that there had been much to choose from at the time- Bara Magna’s furniture industry hadn’t exactly been thriving since the Shattering… But if he’d waited a few more weeks for the Matoran to get settled back into crafting, he could have got something much nicer than the battered, threadbare brown couch he was currently stretched out on. It was probably well over a thousand years old, and parts of it had clearly been scavenged for other uses at some point. Something metallic was jabbing him in the back. He rolled over and shoved the wayward spring back down where it belonged. Jaller wasn’t fussy about couches. It wasn’t as though Toa spent much time sitting down anyway, he’d reasoned. And he certainly hadn’t considered the possibility that somebody might need to sleep on it at some point. Or that the “somebody” might be him. Now, beds- beds were a different story. He’d been very particular about the bed. Toa need to sleep properly when the lives of others are in their hands. Perhaps they’d gone a bit overboard with the bed. It was large and strong enough to withstand a bellyflop from a Toa Kaita (which he knew from experience- the Agori furniture salesman had nearly fainted at the sight), and the mattress was very comfortable. It was a great bed. Too bad he wasn’t currently allowed to use it. It was still light outside. He knew he wasn’t going to be able to sleep for several hours, regardless of how much he might want to. Toa really only needed to sleep every few days- they could go for about a week without if they had to- but he’d been helping build the new Great Furnace in Ta-Atero. His muscles ached, and he knew his ability to focus had been compromised. But it wasn’t just the horrible couch or the aches and pains keeping him awake. Takanuva had disappeared off to Bota Magna as part of an expedition led by Onua Nuva over three weeks ago and hadn’t come back- Jaller and Hahli had been out on another mission when Takanuva was unexpectedly recruited, so they hadn’t even been able to say goodbye. And as often as he told himself the Toa of light would be okay, his hope was fading by the day. He was starting to plan a search party of his own, but had no idea where to start looking. And then there was the whole mess between him and Hahli, which showed no signs of being – Click. Jaller sat bolt upright . Click. Rattle. Click click. Yes, that was definitely the sound of a key in the front door. “Hello? Anyone home?” called a familiar voice. Jaller leapt to his feet and ran down the hall. He was startled to see a mottled green figure hunched under a heavy pack trudge through the door, but relaxed upon seeing the familiar shape of the Kanohi Avokhii as the figure discarded his backpack and stood up straight. “Jaller!” cried Takanuva, flinging his arms around the Toa of Fire. “How are you?” “Tired, but a bit better now.” said Jaller vaguely, “More importantly, how are you?” “Good! Yeah, really good! I was-” “Oh? Are you sure? You’re looking a bit… green.” The pun would normally be well beneath Jaller’s dignity, but he was tired, and Takanuva was back, so it didn’t really matter. “Hm? Oh, yeah, the camouflage!” He switched back to his normal white and gold colouration, revealing a thick layer of mud and grime crusting his armour. “Uh… I guess I should get Hahli to squirt me down before I get any further…” “Don’t worry about that,” said Jaller a little too quickly, then had an idea. “Hold still”. He touched one of the dirty patches on Takanuva’s shoulder armour, causing only the surface to heat up without affecting the organic tissue beneath. The muck dried up into a brittle coating that flaked away easily. “You should get Nuparu to make a machine that does that,” said Takanuva, looking impressed as Jaller worked at the rest of his armour. “Water-free bathtimes! He’d make a killing with the Le-Matoran market.” “You’ll still need a bath later,” said Jaller with a sniff. “You’ve still got that boggy smell, but at least you won’t make the whole house look like a swamp-There,” he said when he had finished, handing Takanuva a brush. “Go dust yourself off outside.” Takanuva obliged. Jaller got a cloth and started wiping up the muddy footprints. He wondered how he was going to explain about Hahli… A few minutes later, Takanuva had flopped down on the couch, and Jaller was hearing tales of laser-powered lizards, plant people, and awkward rescues. “So you found him?” “Lewa? Yeah! He was sort of being held prisoner by a tribe of Agori, but he’d sort of made friends with them, so he was sort of happy that we rescued him, but… well, it’s complicated, apparently. Anyway, he made sure Onua didn’t beat anyone up too badly, so I think it went well. He promised them he’d come back to visit now and then.” “And what if they kidnap him again?” “Then at least we’ll know where to find him. Besides, I think they’re all too scared of Onua to try that.” Takanuva chuckled. “So, is Hahli not home?” “Not sure, might have to check,” lied Jaller. “Want some tea?” “Oh, yeah, that’d be great- I can make it if you like-” He moved to rise. Jaller dismissed his offer with a wave. “Faster if I do it.” he said, and then left for the kitchen. Jalle waved his hand over the dry wood in the stove, causing flames to instantly spring up. He filled a pot and hung it over the fire to boil. He could have snapped his fingers and boiled it immediately, but it never seemed to taste quite the same when he did that. Besides, he needed to do a quick detour before getting back to Takanuva. Jaller trudged down the hall, arrived at the bedroom door and thumped loudly on it three times with his fist. “Takanuva’s back, if you felt like being sociable,” he called gruffly to the room’s occupant. There was no response. Well, he supposed that was to be expected given how the last few days had been. He returned to the living room with two mugs of tea, setting them down on the table in front of Takanuva. The Toa of Light looked uncharacteristically serious. “Did… something happen between you and Hahli?” asked Takanuva. Jaller froze. His silence was as good as a “yes” as far as Takanuva was concerned. “How do you mean?” said Jaller warily. Takanuva gestured to the blanket and pillow crumpled in a pile on the couch next to him. “You’ve been sleeping in here,” he observed. “Long story,” muttered Jaller. “Short version?” Jaller sighed. “I’m sleeping in the living room because my bed has been hijacked by a giant blue Muaka.” he said finally. “You don’t need to be sarcastic.” “I’m not.” There was a pause. Takanuva’s eyes widened as he processed this information. “You mean there really is a Muaka?” “Yes.” “On the bed.” “Yes.” “A real Muaka?” “No.” A look of confusion crossed the Toa of Light’s face, but Jaller offered no further explanation. “Can I see it?” asked Takanuva after a few seconds’ silence. “Go ahead. Maybe you can talk some sense into her. Wouldn’t advise getting too close, though.” While Takanuva somewhat doubted his ability to “talk some sense” into large, carnivorous wild animals, his curiosity once again triumphed over his self preservation instincts. Forgetting about the tea, he jumped to his feet and made his way down the hall. Cautiously, he opened the bedroom door and peered inside. Yes, there was indeed a large, feline Rahi curled up on the bed, eyes closed, its massive head resting lazily upon its forelimbs. And yes, it did look like a Muaka, more or less… but there were a few odd features that stood out. Like the presence of two powerful, clawed hind legs in place of treads. And the colouring was all wrong. Muaka were yellow and black- this one was mostly deep blue, with occasional patches of lime green. But most peculiar of all was the pair of little silver fins- tiny and delicate in comparison to the rest of the beast- protruding ridiculously from the creature’s broad, muscular back. Takanuva wondered at first how it could have possibly got in there- it was too big to fit through the Toa-sized doorway, or any of the windows for that matter. His attention was suddenly drawn back to the strange creature’s fins- bizarre and out of place, and yet oddly familiar. His eyes widened in horror as he suddenly recognised the silver appendages- and the creature they belonged to. “H-Hahli?” he choked. The feline Toa of Water opened one amber eye and gave a soft grunt of acknowledgement before getting back to her nap. “What happened-?” Takanuva started, cautiously moving towards her. “Somebody figured out she could borrow the Krahka’s shapeshifting power using the Faxon, and decided to exploit it for the purpose of throwing a tantrum, that’s what happened,” said Jaller bluntly. Takanuva’s horrified expression instantly dissolved into a massive grin. Partly out of relief that Hahli hadn’t had an overdose of Hordika venom or lost a fight with Roodaka in his absence, and partly at the sheer ridiculousness of the situation. Any delusions he’d had about Toa being unfailingly wise, majestic beings untroubled by petty concerns had been dispelled long ago (well, within a few days of first meeting Tahu, actually). He’d seen a variety of Toa sulks, tantrums and hissy-fits over the years- but this… this took sulking to a new level. He had to give points for Hahli’s ingenuity. Although, he supposed, her approach was much safer that angrily throwing fireballs around, at least. “I can’t leave you two alone for a minute, can I?” said Takanuva, shaking his head. “You’re one to talk,” Jaller snapped. Takanuva whirled around, surprised at his tone. Jaller composed himself and elaborated. “We were out for less than a day, and came back to find you’d trotted off to Bota Magna to go frolicking through the forest with the laser lizards for Mata-Nui-know-how-long, and we didn’t see you again for three weeks! What do you call that?” “Is that your way of saying that you missed me?” said Takanuva innocently. Jaller still looked stern. “Besides, that wasn’t my idea… for once… and Lewa sort of needed rescuing. Y’know how you’re always going on about that duty thing I’m supposed to do?” “Mmhm… fair enough…” Jaller murmured vaguely. “Just… just don’t take off like that again anytime soon ‘kay?” It was then that Takanuva realised how Jaller must have worried about him, and how much it had drained the Toa of Fire, though he’d never admit it outright. He put a reassuring arm around Jaller’s shoulder, and the two gazed at the Muaka-shaped Toa occupying the bed. Takanuva noticed that the Kanohi Faxon was now attached to Hahli’s cheek, like he had seen on some of Makuta’s infected creatures. “So,” he said to Jaller, “If you pulled her mask off right now, do you think she’d change back? Or would she be stuck like that?” “I’d be in even more trouble either way, so I can’t say I really care to find out,” said Jaller flatly, looking at the wicked talons on Hahli’s forepaws. “You can try… if you don’t particularly value your life.” Takanuva chuckled, and released Jaller. “Oh, no, I’m not taking sides in this one- ‘specially since you haven’t even told me what you two are fighting about.” A grunt from Jaller indicated that this was not about to change. “But I do want you to get some sleep, and… I want you two to get this sorted out… I don’t like to see you and Hahli fight,” he paused briefly as Hahli yawned and stretched out her forelegs. Her fins gave a comical little flap, and her head swayed from side to side, before she once again settled down, paws crossed, watching her fellow Toa intently. The Toa of light grinned again. “Even if it is ever-so-slightly hilarious.” “Oh, yes. Hysterical.” said Jaller curtly. He glared at the blue creature. “Well, Hahli, I’m glad you’ve found someone who thinks you’re funny. A rare and precious treasure indeed.” “Cheer up,” said Takanuva, nudging him. “I mean, it could be much worse, couldn’t it?” Jaller glowered at him. “She can use all the Kanoka powers of the Rahi Nui, remember?” The Toa of light continued. “Freezing… teleportation… shrinking… I mean, having to sleep on the couch might not be fun, but at least you’re not sleeping on the other side of the planet… Or in a matchbox.” Takanuva managed to keep a straight face for about half a second before the mental image caught up with him, and he burst out giggling. The blue Muaka gave a low, rumbling sound that might almost have been a chortle. A faint smile even tugged at Jaller’s lips, though there was a slight look of worry in his eyes. “Don’t give her ideas,” he told Takanuva, as if possibly ending up one inch tall and being used to light candles was a serious concern of his. Takanuva reasoned that regardless of her current appearance, if Hahli was in a good enough mood to laugh at his jokes, he was probably safe around her, so he plucked up the courage to get closer. “Hello Hahli,” he murmured, crouching down in front of the Muaka’s massive head. The Rahi-shaped Toa extended her neck forward, brushing her snout against Takanuva’s shoulder. “Yeah, I missed you too,” Takanuva told her, and then, resisting all of his body’s natural survival instincts, put his arm around the great feline’s neck. A growl of disgust from Jaller made Takanuva turn around. “I told you, Jaller, I’m not taking sides,” said the Toa of Light calmly. “Look, I don’t know exactly what happened between you two, and I realise it can’t have been good, but I still care about both of you, and that’s not going to change just because one of you has turned into a big, growling, surly sulk-monster and the other one has turned into a Muak- Aaaaah!” For while his back was turned, the beast of the bedroom had struck. A powerful foreleg had whipped around, seized the Toa of light by the waist, and in a split second he found himself sitting upright on the bed, held tight against the Muaka’s torso, like a plush doll being cuddled by a small Agori child. Hahli’s claws had never touched him- he was pinned down by the strength of the huge limb resting across his legs- powerful, but surprisingly light. The feline gave a low yowl at the Toa of Fire. Jaller thought it sounded suspiciously like the word “Mine.” He shook his head. “Great, now she’s started taking hostages.” “Little help here?” gasped Takanuva. Jaller just shrugged. “I did warn you not to get too close” he said, still having not quite forgiven Takanuva for the “sulk-monster” remark. He gave an exaggerated yawn. “Besides, as you know, I’m very tired right now, so if you two are all set up for the night, I think I should go have my nap. Good night.” “I don’t know why I bothered coming back to you jerks!” Takanuva called out as Jaller walked out the door. “I should have just stayed in Bota Magna with the laser-saurs!” And then, as an afterthought, “I didn’t even get to have my tea!” Resigning himself to his fate, Takanuva reached out and grabbed a pillow from the bedhead, stuffed it behind his shoulders, and tried to get comfortable against the wall of armour and muscle that Toa Hahli’s torso currently resembled. Hahli’s enormous head snaked around and nuzzled against his chest. “No, don’t start that, you horrible creature,” he muttered. But in spite of himself, he soon found his knuckles brushing gently against the Muaka’s forehead as he drifted off to sleep. --- Later in the night, Jaller, in spite of his intent on napping, was still wide awake. It hadn’t been fair on Takanuva for him to come back to this mess. Takanuva generally didn’t hang around awkward situations or difficult people very long. If they carried on like this, he’d be gone again before they knew it. And the fact that he was unable to tell Takanuva- of all people- what had happened- that was very telling. It sounded bad because it was. He knew it was his fault. And he had to fix it. He hauled himself off the couch and made his way towards the bedroom. “Hahli, ” he whispered. No response. Takanuva was in the same spot he’d been left in, curled up, fast asleep, but the feline was now stretched out on her back, all four limbs in the air. Jaller wondered how she’d got like that without waking Takanuva. “Hahli!” There was a high-pitched trilling noise, like Pewku used to make when woken, and the amber eyes cracked open. They regarded Jaller with a mixture of curiosity and annoyance. “I wanted to tell you I’m sorry,” he said. No response. “I am. And it’s okay if you can’t forgive me right away… but, I just wanted you to know that.” He pointed at Takanuva. “Just… don’t take it out on him, okay? We’re both being unreasonable idiots towards each other, and we’re gonna end up hurting him as well if we keep this up. But I know I started it all, so… just… don’t become a horrible person because of me, okay?” The Muaka sighed, and gave an upside-down nod. “Okay,” said Toa Hahli. Her voice was slightly growly, but still recognisable. Jaller was caught off guard by the talking Muaka- so much so that he didn’t see its head whip round to knock him to the side. “Oof!” This was followed up by a swipe of the paw, scooping him up onto her chest and pinning him there. “Still gonna be a horrible Rahi for a bit, though,” said the horrible Rahi, sighing with satisfaction at her most recent “prey”. Jaller sighed. At least they were on speaking terms now. The underbelly of the Muaka was mostly soft organic tissue, Jaller found, running a hand around it. Certainly softer than the couch, anyway. He might almost get a decent half a night’s sleep here... provided Hahli didn’t roll on him. The surface beneath his body began to buzz with a low growly sound. It caught him off guard at first, before he realised what it was. “Pretty sure Muaka don’t purr, Hahli,” he muttered sleepily. Within a few minutes, the purr was intermingled with his snores.

  21. This wasn't my first choice for a character. However, it was the only idea that really worked out, so I decided to go with it. Here you go! ^Click for entry picture^ Front Side Pose With Ackar I think this is quite a step up from my usual works. I'm rather proud of how this turned out. (Also, that Ackar MOC was one of my other attempts, and I'll post him in a separate topic later) For now, enjoy! Comments? Criticism? Cookies?
  22. Takanuva, Master of Light (AKA Wacky Tacky-nuva) Was partially inspired by this MoC by a Master Builder of Takanuva vs Teridax found in a LEGO Store (The use of the Gold Mask of Water and the staff design). I ended up building this after experimenting on placing the large torso armour shell on an Inika base design. Like my Trinuma MoC, I really wanted to make it seem like it would belong in the 2015 line by adding similar action features. I also wanted to give Takanuva aspects of all his iterations throughout the years like the blaster (2008) and golden armour (2003). His weapons can be stored on his back. (Click the pictures for higher res) Full Gallery Jimtacular, Protector of Pies Built this little guy out of leftover parts. Thought he looked pretty decent so might as well include him. He has two modes - serious eyebrow mode and moustachio el furio mode (as pictured below). Full Gallery -NotS

  24. My interpretation of Takanuva 2015. Mostly hand-drawn with a couple of small edits in places due to bad colouring on my part I recoloured the eyes on MS Paint (yeah, I know) as they were too dark to see after scanning them. I also recoloured parts of the mask as the yellow blended with grey lines that I had drawn before going over in black felt tip. C&C appreciated for my first uploaded work Thanks guys!
