Cryptozoology

Yes, you read the title right, this topic is on the fascinating world of cryptozoology. Anyone else interested in cryptids? I happen to study them for my thriller epic: Superiornatural. Also, many cryptids may be too scary for younger audiences. Now, let's focus on the important thing.

Any cryptid stories like sightings? Want to share your knowledge? What introduced you to cryptids? Would you like a piece of pie?

I believe in the existence of cryptids. I sometimes think cryptids wander my apartment complex at night. It gets incredibly barren and dark at night in my part of town. I still check to make sure my closet door is completely shut before sleeping. Also, my interest in cryptids has spilled over into an interest in aliens. I was actually close to checking out an alien book at my local library.

Well, you know what to do here! :)

The only one I've seen in real life, was the Okapi. But that is no longer a cyptid. You also see them in After Earth.

My friend is into cryptids, and I saw a book that talks about them and also Ghost Sightings. Some of them were interesting, but his only light bulb was too loose, and the lights went out. Really creepy.

I love cryptids. My favorite has to be the Chupacabra. So many freaky images, even worse is the Jersey Devil. The Poptropica version scared me so much. It was something about its face... On a campmout in New York once, I saw what looked like an oversized squirell. And yes, I would like a piece of pie.

might wanna include a notice that most cryptids are midly scary for younger children in the first post ;) the only Cryptid I've ever seen is Slenderman. to this day, I still will swear that I saw him, and I did. his face looked like a generator, you know the ones they put on power-lines? I thought it was a generator at first, and then I saw another only twenty feet away. and now, every night, I get the feeling I'm being watched. even now O.o

I'm obsessed with cryptids. I went to Mexico a few times to stay a night over there and I wanted to find the Chupacabra the entire time. And sadly, I have to view images like that in order to get a good grasp on the cryptids. And I wonder what cryptid that was (the one you saw)...

Gotcha. And I am Slenderman! Except I have tanned skin from a Hawaiian vacation... And I have a full head of hair... I guess I'm a Californian Slenderman. :D

I'm actually interested in finding Slenderman.

Worst idea ever dude. If you try to fight him off, know this: Slenderman ALWAYS wins, no matter how big of a gun you're packing or how long you look at him.

EDIT: ()_() Oh God, I will never look at squirrels or monkeys in the same way again after seeing this.

I just want to see him. Then run away and scream like a little girl.

I looked for a split second. Be careful, kids!

I just looked up the Beast of Bray Road, and I'm going to love taking him down in Superiornatural.

I read a story from my inspiration about him in case I would ever make a chapter about him. It's an interesting cryptid.

A good friend forced me to watch it. He betrayed me that day. Although we lived across the street from each other, I ran home at full speed.

Oh God, the Lost Tapes. Watched one episode and stayed up for 24 hours or more. Hated it. I might go back and watch it again though, I think that I worked my courage back up when my dad showed me Jurassic Park when I was six...

who hear

HERE! HEEERRREE!!! IT'S HERE!

anywho, I've never heard of any cryptids in my immediate area, but I have heard of Bigfoot in my general area (roughly 500 miles)

Bigfoot's over here in CA, too. But I live nowhere near a forest! :(

Big fan of cryptids here! Although the only one I really sorta-believe in is the thylacine, but I am open to the idea of stuff like Bigfoot.

I'm also quite fond of drop bears, but I fully acknowledge that they're almost definitely extinct.

  • 2 weeks later...

While I was away on hiatus a few weeks ago, I saw a movie on Sci Fy called Camel Spiders. I have no idea if they are real or not, but those things can kill.

Anyone near Wisconsin or in Wisconsin should know the cryptid called the Beast of Bray Road. Some say it's a werewolf, some say it's not. I don't know, but if I do get a chance to go over there, I better be armed.

I'm not sure if cryptids exist or not. I believe it's possible, but I'm not for sure either way.

In my old house there were things that seemed ghostly, like loud, threatening pounding, random objects shaking, but no one actually died. It was worst from 12-1, and 3-4, at night obviously. Happened every day, and the severity of the stuff seemed to be connected to the number of people in the house, and the amount of noise we were making.

It was worst when there were few people making a lot of noise. Thankfully this thing, if it existed, wasn't as vicious as the Poltergeist from my Superiornatural chapter. No one got injured or killed, objects didn't move much, and no one saw it. Well, except my niece. She cried and pointed at the window, but she couldn't talk very much due to a vocabulary of about 30 words. At one point she seemed to be saying it was standing right behind me.

I remember that there was a large black cat believed to be a panther in my town a while back. We seem to get a lot of them. It could be something more, though.

Geez, that's a way to stay at your old house! Good thing you never told a TV ghost hunter guy, or he'll kick you outta your house!

That could be the Appalachian Black Panther, seen in West Virginia, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, New York, Alabama, and West Virginia. Live in any of those states?

I also have a minor story. When I was 12 or 13 (back when I took SybreNetX seriously), my family was renting a house from a vacationing family. It was an old house, and I swore I was being haunted whenever I was home alone. The worst of it was disembodied noises like faucets, but that wasn't the cherry on top. One time, I was doing schoolwork at the dinner table (I began being privately home-schooled when moving into the house), and I was scared outta my life. Basically, if you walk through the front door and look to the left, you'll see the dining room. The right side of my head was facing the living room and entrance. So, I was working, and out of the corner of my eye, I see a grey, womanly figure walking toward the door. I swung my head in that direction, but saw nothing. I never saw it again, but I disliked staying home alone ever since. To this day, I still refer to the grey woman as "She". I currently await our next encounter. Then again, I recently discovered my body was slowly trying to kill me through a series of events, so that may be the case.

I hear somethings in my house, but was never like Axilus, or saw strange people. I always here the wooden floor panels crack, (because that's the noise they make) or sometimes water just come out of the shower head. My dad says it's water that's stuck in the pipes, but for some reason every time I head to my kitchen, I always think someone is looking at me.

The lights are off except for my room's, and the sunlight, but it doesn't give off much. Anyways, I have this huge plush mountain leopard/teddy bear that I won at Six Flags here in SA when I was... what... 8? Every time I walk into or out of the kitchen, and I look into my living room, I have this feeling that it's head is going to turn and eyes glow red. Plus he's sitting on a chair .

okay...I sleep in a loft bed, and I go to bed around 11. sometimes I stay up till one derping around on the internet. so I get in bed, and unless my cat is there, I hear breathing. every single night, I hear sighs. to add to that, I always, and I swear always, feel like someone's watching me from the foot of my bed. I can't sleep well unless my cat is in my bed. and then everything just goes away. throughout the house when i'm alone, I always feel like i'm being watched. when I get out of the shower, I unlock the door to the actual shower room (the bathroom is broken into two areas, one shower/toilet area, and then the sink with toothbrushes and such), and then I rush out like i'm being chased. i'm terrified until I get out of that room. the worst part? we only built my house about two years ago, so no way it can be haunted

Walking 50 yards down to the street at night to take the grabage cans out is so freakin' scary to me. There are a ton of wildlife noises because we live out in the woods and I swear that I've seen eyes watching me through my window. Seeing Blink (From Doctor Who) didn't help at all, neither did Alien.

@Damaracx: Well, I just wanted to share my interests in a topic that originally had no existence. You're welcome.@Phantom: I used to hate taking out the trash, whether it was in the garage or out to the street!

I still hate watching exerpts from the Alien trailer! So much creepiness from the actual movie. And someone made it worse by building a 1:1 scale LEGO Facehugger! Now I will have dreams of stepping on a LEGO and watching it build up into a facehugger, latching onto my face, and lay eggs in my body.

Okay I quote this entire thing, that they found the answer to the Loch Ness Monster.

The Loch Ness Monster may never be found, but it may finally have been explained. Italian geologist Luigi Piccardi has posited that the mysterious appearances of the mythical Scottish beast, said to be accompanied by tremors, swirls and bubbles, can actually be attributed to an active fault underneath its namesake lake. "There are various effects on the surface of the water that can be related to the activity of the fault," Piccardi told the Italian newspaper La Repubblica, adding that Nessie sightings have coincided with periods of increased seismic activity in the Great Glen fault system. Who knew underwater earthquakes looked like shadowy long-necked aquatic reptiles?
