Hapori Tohu
BZPower member Infrared reports in with a LEGO Cuusoo update. It seems that two projects: Female Minifigure Set and League of Legends of LEGO have both hit the 10,000 supporter goal! The projects will now enter the review stage to possibly be made into a set. I'm looking forward to see what LEGO decides!View the full article Quote News Forums Q&A
Toa of Nerds
I'm really excited about the League of Legends Lego project. I'm a super LoL fan and I hope it passes review. Ektris
As cool as they made the models look, I don't have hopes for League because of a demographic issue. And the Famale Minifigure Set...? Just seems like a somewhat strange suggestion to me, but really can't think of any reason for something like it to be denied. But it's been so long since anything's been taken out of review, so who knows when we'll hear anything on these.~|ET|~ Quote E-T... Phone home. "He walks among us, but he is not one of us." Neelh
Female minifigures are what really interested me. We need more equality in the minifigure department, despite the fact that the recent Minifigure line is helping bring the numbers up. If I'd had something like this when I was a kid, it would have helped me learn that I can be whatever I want, including the things that people consider 'masculine'. Although I wish the best for Friends, young girls have a tendency to think two ways: that you need to be girly and pretty or shun all femininity and try to become a boy. Something like this would encourage them to understand that you can be both. Van Hohenheim
the only problem I an see with LoL is the T-rating of the game. Quote Previously known as Aiwendil.
~garnira returns~
Cool beanz. Perhaps not the most interesting lineup of cuusoo sets, but certainly not bad. Quote "Copy and paste me into your sig! Nukaya
The female minifigure set is great! The designs are well thought out and they would not only be cool to put into a town or city MOC, but also to just display on a shelf. Though, one thing that bothers me a bit about the project is that again, it's something that begins to state that girls need to only aspire to really high level professional jobs in traditionally male roles and nothing else. The Friends line is doing a better job giving examples of traditional and non-traditional gender roles that girls can aspire to for their future careers than this potential LEGO set is. What if a young girl (or boy) wants to become a stay at home parent, a teacher, a homemaker, a hairdresser, a childcare worker, a nurse, a secretary, a cook, a waiter, a receptionist, a salesperson, etc., all jobs that can be considered traditional female roles? It would nice to see some equality in these sets and understanding that if you want to become a stay at home parent or a nurse, that's great, but if you want to also become a paleontologist or astronomer, or even some kind of combination of traditional and non-traditional gender role careers, that is great too because there is nothing wrong with aspiring for those careers either! TL;DR: Let children aspire to be what they want to be. But also we want more female minifigs, please. Quote My MOCs ~ Mishaps & Bubblewrap
Mr. Cup of Fail
I have a good feeling about the "Female Minifigure Set" it look like something i see in a set; but the Chemist don't look like it gong to have that look of body with the small legs and the Tiger don't look like something we see today with lego plus with Mechanic, Fire fighter & Construction worker look like a good idea to add hair to their hat. I think i am going to like the Robotics Engineer. OK if lego say yes to the "League of Legends" with all that purple i think i'll scream like a girl. Taipu1
I don't know how the female minifigure sets will work out with all the extra bits with them. They seem too much to be like the current collectible minifig series, too little to be a set in their own right. I guess if they packaged them all together... As for LoL, I know nothing about it, except that its abbreviated as such because I've heard friends talking about it. The purple thing looks pretty cool though.
