It's a dragoon,A dragoon is an outdated military unit where it would be infantry that would speed up progress of advancement on the battlefield by riding horses, then they would get off of the horses at a safe area and surprise enemy units. They also shot from their horses with carbines as well as fight with swords while mounted. As technology and time went forward, however, they became too complicated of a unit and so were then just made to be cavalry that would shoot. Eventually, they just popped out of existence, like the rest of the cavalry (horse riding) units.
