IC (Edubard, Ta-Koro):

Edubard walked into the Magma Lounge right behind Edubard, only to notice the reaction that Gunner had upon seeing one other person in the room, the reaction that person had on seeing Gunner, and overall, a very tense atmosphere instantly springing up out of nowhere. He glanced sidelong at Gunner, before speaking quietly, similar to what Taleen had just done.

"I take it you must be friends."

"Boredom is irrelevant, I am on duty and have responsibilities to tend to. As do both of you. Private, I'll escort you back to the Captain's office so you do not become lost again. You should come to, Elisabeth. We'll find you something productive to do."

Productive of course meaning "fun."

"I'm ... guessing from your unnerving silence that you haven't forgotten our ... incident--"

"You left me stranded on an island!"

"Circumstances arose! And I apologized afterwards!"

"You sent me a card two months later."

"That doesn't make the apology any less sincere."

"An. Island. Stranded."

"Islet. And it was only a mile away from the mainland."

"Have you ever tried to swim a mile?"

"You punched me in the face afterwards; I'd say we're even."

"That only covered half of the mile! As for the other half--"

"EDUBARD!" I shouted, already back-pedalling out of fisticuffs-range and up to the pool tables -- and higher ground. "Why don't you grab us some drinks and I'll rack up for a game! Buy some drinks for these fine people too, while you're at it! Especially the lady in blue!"

I hurried up to the pool table, eager to -- as Raknar would probably say -- "get the heck outta Dodge."

Edubard frowned, watching Gunner and Plagia. Eventually he stepped up to Plagia, holding a hand out for a hand-shake. "Hi," he said, smiling amiably. "I take it you and Gunner have a history, yes? Think it's possible that could be set aside for the time being, with the payment of a drink of your choosing? We came here to relax, mainly, and, well...hopefully not anger people or get into a fight."

IC (Mariko):

"I've been all over." the dark Toa simply said, then sat back in his seat, watching the scene unfold. Apparently it was a day of many reunions. Most of them not of the happy variety. And if all of them required the working through of personal issues, he calculated the task-force would depart for the village of ice withing a fortnight. Give or take.

He looked at the glass in his hand, watching the liquid swirl around slowly.

Bottoms up.

My scowl -- which I hoped was something pretty fierce 'cause I don't flip those out for nothin' -- lifted almost like a flash of lightning as Gunner's buddy offered his hand, replaced by one of my grade-A pretty-as-###### smiles. I grabbed his hand and shook lightly, but firmly.

"Don't worry about it," I said brightly, but keeping my voice low enough so that Gunner couldn't hear me. "I might be sore about it, but I'm sore enough to go swingin' at anyone in a public place. Just wanted to put the fear of God into him, if you know what I mean."

"Oh, I'm sure we all need that sometimes," Edubard replied, waving Plagia's comments off. "But please, at least in an attempt to help him atone for his previous mishaps, I'd still like to buy you a drink."He grinned.

"It'll be with his money, anyways."

getting his friend to try and buy me a drink

gunner's final vengeance

"I'm good, really," I said, and I'm pretty sure I heard everyone mentally gasp. "If, however, you wanted to spend his money on any of my friends' drinks, well ... I might look the other way."

I smirked.

And to think I was so happy this morning.

Edubard grinned again.

"Wonderful! So, what would  you folks like?" Edubard asked, looking at Plagia's companions, and fully ready to have all of this put on Gunner's tab.

Don't send me to cover for you when you've made a mistake, man, that's just poor form.

"And as for you," he said, turning back to Plagia, "Sure you don't want me to buy you a drink? I'll even spend my own money, other than Gunner's. Just to try and be sociable."

Elly opened and closed her mouth with a slight pout, until she heard the tone behind the word 'productive'. Oh, this was going to be good. Hopefully. If not, oh well, gave her something to do at least.

IC: "Oh really?" he replied, visibly perking up a tad. "Thanks-- I mean, thank you, Ma'am. I appreciate the help." he rattled off, a bit more fluently than previous transitions to proper formality.

"Although it was more like she sent me on a snipe hunt than me getting lost..."

Nonetheless, he fell in line behind the pair as they proceeded towards Angel's office once more. This Solvi...

She seemed pretty taciturn and frosty at first, but,

He smiled slightly.

She's actually pretty alright.

"Welcome home, dear." The warm, welcoming statement drifted down the stairs as Saeva climbed them, bringing the faintest hints of a smile to her face. No one was cooking, this time; instead the kitchen was still and orderly, Saeva's mother seated at the table, regarding the doorway. The sun was past the horizon in the window behind her, shedding only the last rays of red light into the warm abode. Most of the room's illumination came from carefully placed candles, casting flickering shadows with their vibrant light.

The Fe-Toa had a mug cupped between her hands, from which the keenest of nose might pick up the notes of mint and chamomile wafting. She smiled when her daughter filed into the room, setting her mug on the table.

"Are the others coming?"

"Yeah, they'll be up in a second. Red needed to get through the door."

A shadow of confusion crossed her mother's face, a faint furrowing of the brow. "Red? I don't believe you had someone named Red with you..."

As if on cue, the monumental Onu-Toa finished climbing the stairs, Erzu just behind him, and Torana a moment later. He wasn't so large that the room was uncomfortable, in fact he fit rather easily, but his towering height was undeniable. Mrs. Sareta, to her credit, seemed unfazed by his presence, though her eyebrows arched faintly as they entered.

"Ah, I see your friends have multiplied. Shall I prepare another cot?"

"That'd be great, Mom." The Ta-Toa said, hands in her coat pockets. "Offered him a place to stay. Didn't think you'd mind. Sorry I didn't ask."

"It's fine. Friends and family need never ask." She rose smoothly, pushing her chair and circling around the table to reach the group. Her eyes moved perceptively over the quartet, lingering on her daughter who looked awkwardly away. The Fe-Toa pursed her lips for a moment before smiling again, holding a hand out to Red.

"Seems my daughter's friends have multiplied. I haven't had the pleasure. I'm Saeva's mother."

My stomach was empty and this nice man was offering to pay for me. I shrugged.

"Might not be a drink, but I'll take a basket of wings, some fries on the side aaaaaaand, um...actually, I'll have a glass of water too. Thanks."

This guy was persistent. Jeez.

"No, really," I said, waving him off with a smile. "If you wanna get me anything, you can get a basket of fries and some Bula. But that's it. Any wings I need, I can mooch offa Alfon."

IC:

"It depends on who's asking!" I shouted over to the one-eyed fellow by the bar.

IC (Edubard, Ta-Koro):

Edubard turned to the bartender. "You hear all of that?" he said, asking about Alfon, Onuzek, and Plagia. When the bartender nodded, Edubard told him to hop to it and then turned back around.

"So, how'd the whole stranded-on-an-islet thing go for you? In terms of getting off, I mean." Meanwhile, he was thinking something else entirely.

She either doesn't trust me - not likely, because she's letting her friends order various things that I pay for, and she's ordering something other than a drink - or she might not drink.

You know, that's probably healthy. I wonder if I should take it up some time.

Woah - Makuta in the Legend

This woman was half-responsible for Saeva Sareta?

But...but that could only mean...

By God, she was just as awesome!

Is this happening

Red felt like the world was letting him plummet right beneath it for about a quarter of a second before he shook Mrs. Sareta's hand with a warm, personable grin.

"Red," he greeted. "Ex-semi-Ussalry. Your daughter's the coolest, you know."

A head whipped back to present, eyebrows semi-raised. Its owner decided, very quickly, that she would have to ask about that later. Her mother, meanwhile, nodded slightly at the Onu-Toa's handshake and introduction. Her smile widened when her daughter's name come up, crossing her arms in amusement. "Not the most typical statement about her, but I appreciate it."

"I hope you don't mind sleeping on a cot. Most of the furniture is taken, I was making sleeping arrangements earlier."

Red had spent a few months sleeping on hard earth, and years before that sleeping on cold stone six inches above hard earth, but that wasn't something you mentioned to Saeva Sareta's mom - or to Saeva herself, who was already looking at him in a new light which may or may not have been positive. He shouldn't have been so casual with the namedrop.

"It's really not a problem," he insisted genially. "I'm fine with whatever can get spared."

"Great. Just a moment." The Fe-Toa turned and took a few steps away, towards the doorway to the next room. She rolled her shoulders almost lazily, stretching her muscles and bringing her hands up loosely in front of her, fingers outstretched. As though she were a conductor, bits of metal started to appear in front of her, almost fluid in their movements. The material moved languidly, taking the shape that it was willed and flowing smoothly into position from the ether. For her part Saeva's mother was quiet, almost relaxed, as a cot frame took shape in front of her. In moments it was complete, and with a flick of her fingers gliding gracefully into the living room, depositing itself in an open patch of floor.

Meanwhile its creator walked briskly to a closet, retrieving a few pillows, a thin mattress, and a collection of sheets.

"Do any of you want anything to eat or drink? Tea?" A beat. "Hot pack for the wounds you don't have?"

"There weren't any sharks on that side of the island," I told Alfon, "and I was so angry that whenever I tried to build a raft, I kept imagining Gunner's face on the sticks I was using and ended up smashing 'em into kindling. So, yeah. Swimming seemed like the next best option."

IC:

"Come up here," I called to the one-eyed fellow, leaning on the pool table, "and I'll explain."

Soon enough the bartender came out with everybody's drinks, and a glass of water for Edubard, who actually had yet to order anything himself yet. "I'd be more worried about the currents than sharks, myself," he said in response to Plagia's story. "Sounds like you'd make a pretty good sport swimmer."

"So, question for the Plaster Man." Skrihen asked, cocking her head slightly. "Why ain't anyone taken a Mask of Healing to you? You aren't in critical condition anymore, and your injuries should be simple enough to understand if they can be expected to heal with time. Couple of sessions with one of those... Well, you wouldn't be right as rain, but you'd be at partial health at least."

IC (As Fupa): "You'll have to lead the way, I can't find a place that has fresh water available." The jungle Lesterin said as she looked at a guard. "Or I could find out where to go, just wait here." She ran up to the guard and asked for directions. After coming back, he pointed at Lavapool inn. "There's a tavern in there, the two of us could go there to get a drink."

IC: Naohi [Ta-Koro]

Her Eyes lit up ( evenmore than usual) at that last sentence,

"Ooooh, I Looooove taverns!" She said, in a blissfully childish tone absolutely nobody uses when adressing taverns.
