Ic: Modera was poised to devour her gyro when Motini made the remark, and then she cocked her head at Mot. The server gave Mot a double-take as he went back to the counter before moving on. "If you're calling me a liar say it straight, Mot."

Chivinix nodded to the Toa before him. His wings fluttered vaguely behind him before he spoke
"Chivinix needs.. Guide?"
Posted Jan 10 2014 - 01:00 AM
Chivinix made a wide gesture with his four hands indicating everywhere around him
"The world.. Explain.."
Posted Jan 10 2014 - 01:44 AM
Chivinix nodded slowly
"Yes.. Chivinix came from... Cavern in place of shadow.. Not know of Big world.."

OOC: Krayne from Ko Wahi
IC: Krayne The Rainmaker (Ta Koro)
He landed his hoverboard on top of a tower. He adjusted his cloak and scanned the area. The Vortixx jumped off the tower and landed safely on the ground.
OOC: Krayne is open for interaction.

Chivinix seemed rather confused as he heard the toa before him ask his question. Judging by the slouch of Chivinix's wings one could vaguely tell he was vaguely perturbed by the words
"Does.. Toa know where to start?"
Posted Jan 10 2014 - 03:32 PM
Xerrand chuckled a bit, "I'm sorry master Chivinix, I did not mean to confuse. We can start right here in Ta Koro. What what questions do you have about this place?" He said as he gestured to the city around him
Posted Jan 10 2014 - 04:07 PM
Chivinix looked back towards the city and his gaze seemed to linger for a long time on the style of buildings. He seemed amazed just merely because of the buildings for he had never seen a building before.
"Why do so many live here? Does your people not fight to survive?"
Posted Jan 10 2014 - 04:58 PM
"All creatures fight to survive" he replied, "the people of Mata Nui stay together because there is strength in numbers. All of those loyal to the Element of Fire live here in the volcano, the village of Ta Koro. We all provide services to help each other. Some collect more food than they need, so that others can spend their time making clothes. Some make enough weapons for everyone so that the guard can devote all of their time to protecting the city."

Chivinix looked back from the toa and looked rather stunned
"That is fool way... Why not strongest have everything? Chivinix killed his whole kind for right to survive and to explore this world.."
Posted Jan 10 2014 - 05:27 PM
Xerrand looked deep into the creatures eyes and thought to himself
Such death. Yet such innocence.
"But aren't you terribly lonely, being the last of your kind?"
Posted Jan 10 2014 - 05:48 PM
Chivinix shook his head though his wings fluttered gently behind him
"If chivinix did not fight chivinix would be food in another chivinix's stomach.."
Posted Jan 10 2014 - 05:54 PM
Xerrand looked out at the city before them,
"Well it is one way to survive. But here, we have the right survive and explore without having to kill each other. We have Unity."
Looking at the Chivinix he couldn't help but feel an admiration. It was roughly the same hight as a Vortixx, quite intimidating. One of these creatures could do significant damage in battle. And this one had managed to slay all others of its kind. What a magnificent creature
"But we are not without conflict." He followed, "here we have something called War. That's where one city of people all fight against another city" thinking back to thine time of Makuta he added "or all the cities against a single threat"
Posted Jan 10 2014 - 06:01 PM
Chivinix nodded slowly. His silver carapace captured what little sunlight there was and seemed to reflect it
"What do you do to those you Defeat? Eat them like chivinix's kind?"
Posted Jan 10 2014 - 06:34 PM
Xerrand's expression changed. He looked solemnly at the creature, great sadness hanging from his eyes, "no Chivinix. No we do not eat them. Some winners enslave, exploiting citizens for their services making them work for nothing. Some would like to take all valuable items, and leave the losing side with nothing." Shifting his head he took a big sigh, before following "there are good leaders too. Those who would like to set the people free from evil rulers. Those who care.
As Toa, it is our duty to care about everyone. All the matoran in every Koro."
Posted Jan 10 2014 - 06:59 PM
That same confused expression returned
"Matoran? What is matoran?"
Posted Jan 10 2014 - 07:06 PM
"Matoran re these" he said gesturing to the whole village, "the villagers. They were masks like Toa, but only as symbols. Not for power. They are the inhabitants of the island. It is they who build these Koros, it is they who rule them.
It is the Duty of the Toa to protect them"
Posted Jan 10 2014 - 07:16 PM
Chivinix seemed to consider these words for quite sometime. It was as if he was trying to dissect them
"So matoran are small and powerless.. Toa are strong and have power.. Why toa no rule them.. or eat them?
Posted Jan 10 2014 - 07:27 PM
Xerrand was intrigued at the creature's naivety. "Follow me, my friend, and I will show the good Chivinix."
He lead the insectoid to a great wall, the Wall of History. He assumed the creature would not have the ability to read it, but it was magnificent to look at all the same. "This tells the story of the matoran. How they were brought here by Mata Nui, and given dominion over the island. It is their destiny. Just as it is the duty of the Toa to protect them." Then turning his back to the Wall he lifted both hands outward towards the thriving city. "You see this? This village, this glorious city was all built by the Matoran."
The spot was, of course strategically picked. The Wall of Prophecy had an unbeatable view of the city. None could look at it with anything but awe. "Do you see, mighty Chivinix, the Matoran were brought here to build good things, and to do good. It's their duty. As it is mine to ensure that no one takes that away from them."
I love what you are doing with the Chivinix! This is exactly how a creature would react if it could speak and question the Matoran civilization.
Posted Jan 10 2014 - 07:37 PM
Chivinix looked down at the village and he could not deny it's wonder though he still seemed to hold questions
"So Matoran build and rule island. But only because... Mata-nui? allows them? So they are his slaves.. And what is Mata-nui?"
Posted Jan 10 2014 - 07:52 PM
"No, they are not his slaves. He is the creator of this island. He created the matoran and brought them here. They named the island Mata Nui in his honor."
Then, as if suddenly brought back from reality, Xerrand's charming smile faded, "but he's been asleep for a long time now. His brother betrayed him, and ruled this island with shadows. That is why there are Toa; they were created to stop the Makuta. The Toa Maru, the six strongest and most powerful Toa, have banished the Makuta. But mata Nui still sleeps." Looking up in hope, that charismatic smile returned to his face "but when he awakes, the matoran will find peace once more"

Chivinix held up two of his hands rather fastly and his wings seemed to flutter with annoyance
"Makuta.. Explain him."
Posted Jan 10 2014 - 08:55 PM
"Dark one," Xerrand replied "master of shadows. He is selfish, doesn't care about anyone. He wants to make everyone his slaves. He succeeded once with the rahi, but the Toa stopped him and freed the island. He's gone now, only his legacy remains."

"You must be confused.. Makuta created Chivinix and kind."

Xerrand looked up at the creature, a bit of shock in his eyes. But not even a hint of disdain. "Is that so? Well that is most engaging my friend. The Makuta did create many rahi and beasts before his betrayal. That was the duty his brother gave him" Xerrand moved closer to the creature, reaching gently to pet it as he spoke
Posted Jan 10 2014 - 11:43 PM
Chivinix's reaction to the petting was not one of acceptance. Using just one of his arms given his two hands he latched onto the arm. One hand gripped the elbow while the other gripped the wrist. He then proceeded to twist the wrist to the point where any more twisting would break it. This all happened rather quickly while Chivinix's free arm was completely free to do anything. His large black eyes stared down at the Toa with anger
"You do not touch Chivinix. Chivinix is not animal."
His voice held a dangerous edge to it that did not hide the fact that he would break the toa's arm given the chance
Posted Jan 11 2014 - 12:19 AM
Chivinix seemed to consider this and merely nodded
"Accepted.. Don't touch me ever."
Posted Jan 11 2014 - 01:29 AM
Xerrand took a step back, raising his hands up as he did "Of course, my friend, of course. Whatever you say." Xerrand was a little hurt, but he still smiled lovingly at the creature. "I'm your friend Chivinix. Friend."
Posted Jan 11 2014 - 02:07 AM
Chivinix seemed to consider this for a few long moments and nodded
"Friend is ally right?"
Posted Jan 11 2014 - 02:40 AM
Suddenly there was a deep sound that seemed to emanate from Chivinix's stomach and he looked at Xerand with an almost hungry look
"What do toa eat?"

There was a pause after Stralix knocked, a silence from within the office.
Normally, visitors were announced by his secretary before they got to the door. Which, in this cas, meant that the security was either incapacitated, or had been ignored. If the latter, there was no issue. If the former... The question was answered, however, when the secretary piped up with a tone that spoke of annoyed resignation.
"Specialist Stralix, sir." The Ta-Matoran said loudly, just barely audible within the office. A chuckle emanated from within, accompanied by a sigh of relief, though that was less pronounced.
:"Come on in, Stralix."

On this eve, the thirtieth anniversary of that first colony, many are left to wonder; is the world fast approaching a breaking point?

The door opened, and the Po-Skakdi entered giving a weary salute, wincing slightly as he moved bruised muscles. The inventor's fatigue was obvious in his posture and expression.
"Permission to sit, sir?" he said, with an aura of friendly (but tired) sarcasm.
