IC:

Oh my. Oh my goodness. Lookit my shocked face. Wow. So much shock. Whaaaa. Oh em geez, no way.

Actually, amend that; way. I wasn't sure if I wanted to know how exactly Sky-fly was actually Sky-guy (I mean, on the one hand, there were a lot of details that probably didn't belong at the dinner table, and the Scarf Monster ain't nothin' if he ain't the type to introduce to your parents; on the other hand, part of me reacted to the gender issue with BIO-curiosity - see what I did there?), but the fact that Dor was involved in all the wrong ways with a pseudo-dude wasn't as much of a surprise to me as he prolly expected or wanted it to. Let's all remember that he never stops talking and thinking about a certain Toa of Shadow...

So while Neefer Madness cracked up at the premise of some hot manwiching (and I didn't blame him; manwiching is a silly word) I was able to keep my ducks in a row as I heard Dorian "Gayzed and Confused" Shaddix's grand announcement. Inside my bubble - physical and metaphorical; I've led a life sheltered from more-than-bro hugs - I grinned and shook my scarf-wrapped head back and forth with cheerful disappointment. "Oh, Dor-dor-dor-dor-dor," I clucked. "You've never had the best taste - I mean, look at your apartment; look at the stuff I got you hooked on; look at these scarves I've been forced to wrap myself in to make an artistic statement - but this, this is somethin' else. I mean, look, creds where they're due, he can clean, I'll give him that... but settling down with him? You can do better. He looks so tired!"

Wink wink, nudge nudge.

IC: Casanuva smirked. "Ooh, scandalous!"

The Fa-Toa leaned against the wall. "And no, we're not a couple. Though we could be."

"I'm working, sir. Now is there something else I can help you with?"

"You could say that. You got twin beds?"

"Sorry, sir, we do not."

"How about bunks?"

"We have one queen."

"We'll take that."

The times, they are a-changing...

IC: Bohrei [Ta-Kini]

"Coroner lady" suppressed the urge to roll her eyes as Dorian left.  It was going to be an experience working with him.

Oreius took to one of the guards and began questioning; she didn't know how much they would have to say that wasn't already present in the initial report, but perhaps the Toa would get lucky.  In the meantime -

Still keeping one eye on Oreius, she crossed the room to the guardswoman who had accompanied Dorian.  "Miss - Flay, isn't it? I don't believe we've worked together directly before.  Bohrei Tantarus; I work with the guard as coroner.  I'd like to get up to speed on the current state of the investigation."

IC:

Hearing her name called, Flay perked up for a moment as she turned towards the speaker, who promptly introduced herself as Bohrei. Nodding, Flay reached over for a handshake. She'd seen the Skakdi before, back at the Guard Headquarters. Though she wasn't familiar with the freelance investigator, the eye catching signature black jackets were a memorable sight.

"Well, guess no need for longer introductions. Do you have an iStone? I could send you the information I have right now. Otherwise I guess we could go the old fashioned way of speech explanations...."

OOC: No time to post all the info through speech :P sorry for the short late post

IC: Lunefeld

Lunefeld seemed to ponder for a second.

"Oh, why indeed. Let's see now... I am a... Knowledgeable man. When I talk to your boss, I could mention some things that he would be... Displeased to hear about."

"What're you flapping about, square?"

"Oh, I'm not flapping, but you might."

Lunefeld slowly used his gravity powers to increase the pull of the soil around Jarko. Moisture started to seep upwards.

"Let's see. Maybe that one, no, five times you happened to give a certain gang called the Cardinals in Ga-Koro certain information that would pertain to the secret passages to your hideout?"

"You're lying," Jarko snarled.

"Really? Let's see," Lunefeld stepped forward.

"Fourth dumpster in a back alleyway along Second Vakama Avenue, the one with a sticker advertising free joint lubricant. The big pool to the west, near its eastern edge, a rocky outcropping with the vague shape of a Miru. A manhole under the waste bin of the head custodian of the hospital, the one who never comes to work and is on indefinite leave because -guess what- it's actually Iiasmir in disguise."

"How do you think I know all this?"

"H-hey now, wait a moment-"

"And it also seems that you've been... Playing around with someone else's missy. The tan-armoured Lesterin, who currently lives in Ga-Koro?"

Lunefeld was glad he operated a network of information gatherers.

"Now, that's not true," Jarko stammered. He was visibly frightened.

"Who's to say what happened that night at the Lavapool- before it was blown up, of course."

Lunefeld was gambling at this. Gambling that Jarko drank at the Lavapool, and that he was too intoxicated to remember if he had done anything to someone's "missy"(who even thought up that word?)

Jarko was now sweating a lot. Not just because of the heat.

Lunefeld tapped his chin.

"But of course, if you get me into the base peacefully... Your boss need no know this at all."

OOC: So sorry I bunnied Jarko's little responses, otherwise this interaction would take forever. :)

IC: Natharius.

The joke seemed to be going a little too far... Surely Grokk realised that everything Dorian was telling him was absolute ######, and that none of it was true? For someone who seemed as attuned to lying as Grokk was, he was terrible at spotting when other people were lying to him.

Unless he was playing along...

OOC: Where is Zaara? Did she stay with Naishe and Marda or go with Casanuva and the others?

OOC: We'll let you decide. :)

IC: Marda and Naishe

Marda smiled over at the Su-Toa.

"Well, that was a fun way to get back into things. You know, friends are always welcome at my bar in Po-Koro, the Dal Riata." she said, but Naishe cleared her throat.

"Actually, Miss Marda, the Dal is currently...inaccessible. All of Po-Koro is under bombardment by an endless sandstorm." she said. Marda frowned.

"Darn. Well, you can still travel with us, if you'd like. What do you say, sweetie? Stick with us?" she asked.

IC: Akhulii

Akhulii bent down at the rocky and dark stone beneath his feet. His mask zoomed into a large glowing red mushroom with yellow spots on it. He unveiled his small notepad from his bag and took a sketch and some notes on it before carefully plucking it out of the ground and relocating it to his satchel. "I've never seen this type of lava mushroom before. A truly remarkable specimen, I must say. Perhaps it would do well for an ointment, I would imagine it's disinfecting properties are grand." Akhulii paused for another moment before he jotted down a few more quick notes.

"Now about what we should do next... I propose we either make a small camp or make a final rush towards Ta-Koro. We could get a room at some inn and a proper meal. Grapes are delicious, but I assure you that I have no plans to live on them for the rest of my life. And I have not the slightest clue as to what wild toa eat. Though I fear we may not have the daylight to get there..."

He took a few more random steps around and lifted his head up to analyze the charred forest surrounding them. The sky was a hazy grey and the burnt trees curled around like dying arms reaching for the last glimmers of light. He shuddered and added, "But to be perfectly honest I'd love to get to Ta-Koro as soon as possible. If there's any place Makuta scampered off to, it's here..."

IC:

Repairs were progressing steadily in the Village of Fire, and the streets were nearly clear of rubble. The minor spots of damage had been repaired, walls patches, and light posts repaired. Entering the village, the outskirts of the village were almost as good as new, with scarcely a sign that there had ever been a struggle. The Guard's repair teams worked fast. However, as one progressed towards the center, Ta-Koro was still a hive of frantic activity, all centered around the deep, black scar upon its heart. The Lavapool Inn had been leveled, and its ruins stood as a testament to what had been lost. Guards walked the streets, medics still frantically moving from field stations to the hospital, and Investigative Corps members still combing the scene for evidence and victims.

The city was alive with a determined energy, but the Ta-Koro Guard Fortress was eerily silent. When Jaller returned, assistant in tow, a storm crept in after him, the air crackling with a tense electricity. The Akiri had been impassive, but there was no mistaking the almost predatory nature of his movements, each step the precise coiling and unleashing of energy, calculated for maximum efficiency. He had spoken one single statement to the secretary in front of his office, an order for all personnel and resource reports, as well as after action reports, to be on his desk immediately, before entering his office and closing the door behind him.

A short time later, when the secretary brought the requested files along, the Ta-Matoran had been seated at his desk, materials scattered across his desk. Handwritten notes, files he'd had on hand, and a letter that had been delivered with a crate (the crate was situated in the corner of the room, its contents carefully returned to their proper place), and a pen in hand. He had thanked his assistant for the folders, and almost instantly, returned to his ruminations.

"... Sir?" His assistant asked, an hour now passed from that time. The Matoran stood uncertainly near the doorway, gauging the atmosphere of the room. It was quiet, save the the occasionally rustling of papers, but there was an undercurrent of energy; it ran up his spine the moment he set foot within the space, almost as if he were a lightning rod. The Akiri hadn't seemed more calm in hours, and yet, to see the Ta-Matoran so restrained was almost more worrying than the agitation that had been clear before. "Sir, you've been working for hours, you need food. You need to rest."

"Enough time for that later." The reply was polite, but firm; it was issued in a tone that would tolerate no dissent, and for the briefest of moments, it gave his assistant pause. The moment soon passed.

"Sir, I insist that you at least drink something."

"..." For the first time, Jaller looked up from his papers, the fire in his eyes quite clear. Not directed at his subordinate; no, his rage was focused, channeled into something productive. Something he could do. "... Fine. Bring a pot of coffee. And I want Stralix sent to me, as soon as he returns from his trip. Captain Angelus is to be sent to me at once, as soon as someone figures out where the Karzahni he is."

"Yes sir."

"One more thing." The Ta-Matoran's eyes practically burning. "My visitors are to be screened. If they're not Guard, and it's not important, I'm not to be disturbed. I have work to do."

OOC: Lenat from Po-wahi

Lenat- Ta-koro- Jallers Office

IC: The sturdy doors in front of Jaller's secretary groaned as a pair of unseen hands pushed them open. The black head and chest of a Vortixx become visible as the doors continued to open. Green arm plating followed shortly after as the doors opened fully and the being could be seen entirely. A worn leather carrying pouch's strap crossed his chest and a pair intelligent green eyes took in the room.

Walking up to the secretary Lenat spoke.

"Greetings, I am Lenat of the Mata Nui Technology Emporium. Yes, I know that sounds pompous. I was a bit at a loss when I came up with it. If possible I would like to meet with Akiri Jaller. There are a few things I would like to offer that I'm sure he would enjoy."

"I serve the weak. I serve the helpless. I am their sword and their shield. If you want to strike at them, you must go through me, and I am not so easily moved."

NPC- Ko-Koro Messenger

As Korero exited the prison where he had just dropped off a few thugs, he suddenly came face to face with a stark white Toa he could have sworn wasn’t there a moment before. It only took Korero a moment to discover an explanation for the Ko-Toa’s sudden appearance in the mask of speed he wore.

The Kakama-wearing Toa gathered his breath and looked right at Korero’s eyes, a hint of desperation in his own. “Toa Korero,” he gasped, out of breath, “Gather the rest of the Maru. Ko-Koro is about to fall.”

“Echelon,” he explained, pausing to breathe, “and his followers have breached the gates. Dozens of Makuta followers assault the village from without. We cannot defeat them without your help. Please, Maru. We need you.”

IC: Kouyran (Outskirts of Ta-Koro)

The door of the inn suddenly flung itself open, and a short, Matatu-wearing Toa of Ice was thrown out onto the stone pavement by a Toa of Iron. Thinking quickly, Kouyran, the Ko-Toa, encased the Fe-Toa's head in a ball of solid ice, an inch thick on every side. The Toa began choking, his hands scrabbling manically at his iced-up throat, and, quite suddenly, stopped moving. He toppled over backwards, so very slowly, and just before the corpse's head hit the road and alerted the whole Koro with the sound of smashing ice, he grabbed onto the Toa's head with his Matatu, and gently lowered him to the ground. Kouyran looked around, with darting, fearful eyes, the eyes of an animal which has suddenly realised that it is another's prey. He didn't see any Ta-Koro Guards, thankfully, but a way down the street, he spied a Toa of Plasma walking, wobbling unsteadily towards the centre of Ta-Koro.

"Hello there, friend! What brings you to the lovely city of Ta-Koro this fine day?", Kouyran shouted at the Toa.
