IC Sharky

"Did ya steal my powers as well, big chin? I was about ta make a 'tall, dark and corpsey' joke"

Wriggling around a little, he managed to massage his shoulder. Being pinned by a rahkshi wasn't too comfy...

IC Forger

Vandal and Enforcer departed. That left Zero, Transient and myself... "Anything else we need to cover?"

...but close to it

IC: Greisk, Cyrena

They're not going to... Sacrifice someone right here, are they?

I think they will. The cultists seem comfortable with it.

Did you notice Miss Creepy McBugs diss us? Well, just you actually.

I did. The newcomer, he looks uncomfortable.

Maybe he doesn't like sacrifice.

Greisk-Toros silently stood guard behind Agrona, as only he could.

IC: One of the guards nodded, and opened the door, ushering Luyn into the Citadel. As he escorted the Po-Toa into the observatory, he said to him "Cause any trouble and you're dead." The guard left, slamming the door behind him. Luyn was left alone in the room, dimly lit by starlight and a few scattered lightstones.

An Onu-Turaga was standing at a table in the center of the room, poring over a map. Maeloc looked up, spotting Luyn. The turaga scrutinized the toa, looking him up and down with his telescopic eye.

"Toa of stone, useful for an excavation, at least." The turaga almost looked bored, leaning on his spade. "Who are you, and what to you do? Impress me."

The times, they are a-changing...

OOC: Luyn's female, actually :P

IC: Luyn

"Not if I kill you first." I teased playfully, right as the guard slammed the door. "###### scrub."

I examined my surroundings, my eyes tracing their way along the room's dimly lit interior until they settled on a lone figure at its center. He looked like your average, run of the mill Turaga at first but when I got closer, he didn't seem so ordinary anymore. It was weird, he had the short, hunched body of the elderly yet he was young and fit, which didn't do it justice in the slightest.

Freak.

For a moment or two, silence reigned and the (old?) man appeared too busy to pay me any attention. It wasn't until I coughed that he spared a glance, giving me the usual up and down look as he inspected every detail of my appearance. The boredom on his face was plain as day, like he was some smug big shot dealing with a lowly peasant. I didn't appreciate that.

"Name's Luyn Kaigal, I'm a mercenary." I said, voice flat. As if this guy wanted me to impress him. How trivial.

Still, I indulged him. Before he could react, a pen on the table zoomed to his neck, hovering inches away from his carotid artery while I had barely lifted a finger. One single thought meant the end for him.

Luckily for him, the pen clattered to the ground.

IC Viima

(Ko-Le-Wahi border, gorge):

Although irritated by being called "little friend" by Tivanu, Viima decided to keep it to himself. What mattered at the moment was getting out in one piece.

"Understood", he said, preparing the berries for the task.

IC: Tivanu

Tivanu reached into his satchel and took out two lengths of ropes. He tied one to jagged piece of ice while the other he held firmly in his hand as he lowered both ends down to Viima

"Tie one around your waist, and the other one through the loops in your bag. I doubt once we get you out of there we are going to be able to come back down."

Eventually the Toa reached the gates, only to find them guarded by six guards of varying species. His red eyes, surprisingly cold in their gaze, surveyed the beings in front of him. He approached the nearest guard, a Lesterin, and spoke, his voice a bit hoarse when he did so. "I am Zenix. I am here to request an audience with Echelon. I am an old comrade of his... For this I request passage into the city..."

He approached the gate, shield in hand, and spoke to the closest of the new... And rather rough looking guards, "I would enter Ko-Koro."

IC (Ko-Koro Gate Guards)

The Lesterin nodded, stepping aside to allow Zenix inside.

"Echelon's in the Sanctum," he said. "You're Legacy, right? The guards'll probably let you in, even if the meeting's already started."

He turned to Kotak.

"Name and business in Ko-Koro?"

OOC: If I've missed anyone, please PM me. Echelon post coming soon.

IC: Lunefeld

The harsh winds of Ko-Wahi blew across the wasteland, turning what was a bad day for Ko-Koro citizens into an average one.

A lone figure, leaning on his staff, trekked across the drifts, heading to Ko-Koro. His tasks were done and he was heading back to report to his... potential benefactor.

The newly appointed Legacy guards came to attention and scowled at him as he approached. He must have looked like easy pickings, with his tattered cloak, hunched posture and rickety staff, but they gave him no trouble when he fixed the nearest one with a cold stare.

"Name and business?" Quick and to the point.

"Magtstrom. Here to pledge allegiance to the Legacy."

Not completely accurate, but it would suffice.

"Alright, then make it quick. You'll want to go the Citadel. Inns are in short supply at the moment, as are innkeepers, but they might provide you with a bunk perhaps," the guard said. Her face was completely obscured by an oversized helm, making her voice indistinct.

Her colleague made a simple note on the tablet on his hand.

Lunefeld nooded his thanks and entered.

He stopped several yards in. Hut were on fire, ash had coated the road and several corpses were unattended to along the roadside, which by now had an underlayer of frozen blood.

He wondered where Hakann was.

IC: Dahkapa (Ko-koro)

He observed Ygolo quietly as he talked to Ira. After a while he decied to ask a question from him: "Who will lead this expedition?" Dahkapa's tone was demanding, as if he was interrogating the Matoran. He had his doubts, for the Matoran was looking for the Sanctum, which had been fortfied by the Legacy. It was likely, he thought, that this expedition was organized by a filthy Makuta-worshipper. "And where can I find this sign? I want to read it."

OOC: Thanks Ghost :)

IC, Zenix: Zenix nodded to the Lesterin guard and walked through the village gates. He looked around with interest. Instead of mostly Ko-Matoran, the village was now filled with Toa, Skakdi, Vortixx, and others, not unlike how Xa-Koro used to be.

Zenix started walking towards the Santctum, curious about what "meeting" Echelon was attending.

IC: Ira

"... The sign's right here." Ira pointed to the sign Ygolo was standing in front of. "Apparently it's being lead by somebody named Maeloc. Never heard of him."

Turning to the newcomer, Ira said "It would be best if you, you know, didn't run out ahead to the group. It might not even be a dig, perse that this Maeloc might be undertaken. Don't want you getting lost or getting into trouble, you know."

OOC: Ooh, my bad. First person can be confusing like that.

IC: "Oh congratulations, you can threaten a turaga. Well done. When you've seen Echelon in action, moving stuff around with your mind stops fazing you."

Maeloc moved around the table. "Anyway, you seem competent enough. You're probably interested in the promised rewards, I take it?"

The times, they are a-changing...

“I would have to agree, the former is starting to sound more like a trap.” Zarkov said to Ira. He noticed the person Ira was talking about and shrugged. “Doesn’t seem like it. How did you get in here?” he demanded.

“Alright, I’ve heard enough. I’m going to go find this person in the citadel. You two coming?” he glanced at Ira and Krakant.

“Oh and loose Mr. Innocent, he shouldn’t be coming along.” He then began to stride towards the Citadel.

IC: (Viera)

Viera rubbed her forehead, then made a disinterested gesture with her hand.

"Yeah, whatever. Just let me supervise, I wouldn't want you to vegitate him. If I needed another mindless follower I'd convert to Ak'rei'an."

Zarkov grinned as he continued to walk. "Doesn't matter who walks ahead of who, my friend." he said as they moved up to the citadel. The guards outside questioned their business.

"We are here to see Maeloc, about his expedition." Zarkov said evenly. "Care to take us to him?" Zarkov questioned the guard.

OOC: Here to see Maeloc as well

IC: Khil'rayu (Ko-Koro)

I follow Eisen with my eyes for a few seconds, before, with a small, pony-like snort, I stalk- I'm amazing at stalking- back off into the streets, where I go to a once-fancy restaurant and flop down on a seat, sulkily ordering a pint from a Matoran waiter.

OOC: Khil'rayu, open to interaction in Ko! :)

OOC: I believe Krakant is with Zarkov, and Ira is as well. Possibly some other Skakdi dude he hasn't posted in a while, maybe Dahkapa and some confused dude Ygolo (hope not)

IC:

"The name is Zarkov," he nodded his head to the Onu-Turaga. "I saw your sign, thought it would work well for my line of work." the Fe-Skakdi grinned now.

IC: Luyn

Ugh.

I rolled my eyes. If anyone was making a bad first impression, it was this guy. Under better circumstances, I would have taught him a lesson in humility but a promised paycheck and his status in the Legacy were enough to deter me.

"That I am."

Suddenly, the door swung open to reveal more goons escorted by the same guard who had brought me here. I flashed a smile and waved, earning a look of cool disdain as he walked out. Scrub.

When he was gone, my attention veered to the rest of the group. Potential coworkers, I assumed. One of them stepped up, a Fe-Skakdi to be specific, and affirmed my guess. I kept quiet and eyed each of them with curiosity.

"Murder is only ever a good idea if you're going to get paid Krakant," Zarkov said. "Besides I was the one saying we should try to keep him alive. But yes, as my dear friend Krakant would like to continue to point out this venture was all his idea, round of applause to Krakant the all mighty." Zarkov then glanced at the female Po-Toa.

"You are here for the same reason I assume?" he asked her.

IC: The onu-turaga smiled. Gathered was enough muscle for anyone to think twice.

"Now, I'm guessing all of you are probably wondering about your reward, and what I have to do with it. As you've probably guessed, I am Maeloc. I am an archivist within the Legacy. I was cataloging the items in storage, when I made a discovery." Maeloc's hand went to the amulet, shining around his neck. "This amulet, one of fifteen, holds a very unusual power. I have learned the location of another, one that only recently was made known. This location is in Ga-Wahi, on an island in Naho Bay."

The turaga looked the recruits over, one by one. "You're probably wondering what rewards are in store. Well, the shrine we are headed to is a reliquary of artifacts. Doubtlessly many of them will be valuable, in addition to I suspect three of these Amulets of Elemental Kindred. I will ultimately decide who gets what, as I see fit. In addition, I will be evaluating your use to the Legacy, so unless you want to cross my masters, killing me get more than your share isn't in your best interest."

Maeloc smirked. "Any questions?"

Zarkov slowly shook his head. "Don't worry, that's not how I do business," he said. "I am not against doing the dirty jobs, but I am still a man of my word." he slowly thought over the information they had been given.

"Does anyone else know about this shrine's location? I'd like to know what we're going to be up against and if you think its going to be guarded by... something."

Ic: Krakant.

"Woah, hold on there, examined for use by legacy? I don't like to get involved in any political events, might make potential dealers put off."

He heard Zarkov talk about a guard to the shrine.

"What, are you scared that there's going to be like... A giant spider controlling an army of spiders there or somethin'?" He said.

IC: Dahkapa (Ko-Koro)

Ira answered his questions before Ygolo did. Dahkapa nodded, checked what the Piraka were doing, and went to read the sign. He returned after a while. "The Legacy organized this as well.." he muttered to Ira. Unexpectedly he got very close to him, and whispered to his ear "Go there and find out what they are doing. Don't join the Legacy, that will cause nothing but trouble. Understand?"

He then backed away, and said "I'm going to continue keeping an eye on them", knowing that Ira understood him, but no one else nearby did. After Zarkov, Ira and others left, Dahkapa extinguished the camp fire with his elemental powers, and went off to find a better place for observing the two Skakdi and their Rahkshi followers.

OOC Sorry for the inactivity. With finals and christmas and whatnot, I've been devoting a lot of time and energy to my IRL responsibilities.

IC Zealot

The philosopher leaned back

Seven sin: vanity he noted

possible issues with vulnerability.

Must investigate further

"Handicapped?" Zealot asked, keeping silent his suspicions, "You have overcome great trials and proved your strength over circumstance." He leaned in, looking past the glow of her mask into her eyes veiled by haze "tell me: how is that handicapped?"

IC: Faora

Under normal circumstances, such a piercing, knowing gaze would unnerve her, maker her uncomfortable. Everything within her told her to look away, change the subject, draw back. But she didn't.

"Maybe handicapped wasn't the right word," she said after a moment, flushed by his affirmation. "But liability? If I get tired, I lose control of my mask and I can hardly see. If I get knocked on the head, I can hardly see." Emotion was creeping into her voice. "If I lose focus for any reason at all, I can hardly see. You think anyone wants someone like that guarding his or her back?" She took a shaky breath. "I don't--" Did I just hear something by the door? "--think so. Besides..." Her eyes locked with Zealot's. "It's comforting to have someone who knows your greatest weakness, but only when it's that one person."

You.

Zealot.

IC Zealot

Zealot looked up, almost shocked at her words

"What..." his words were about as fluid as freezing pond "What do you mean? "That one person?"
His words seemed warm. Or at least, with as much warmth as a Ko Koronan can muster

"Zenix." Before the Toa could turn to look for the source of the voice, it had conveniently appeared next to him in the form of me. Without haste, I matched my pace with his, noting the hump on his back that hadn't been present when he'd last seen the Toa.

"It's Aurum. If I remember you, the last time we met was at the assault on Pala-Koro."

Parakuka. I wonder what other changes other than the physical one has taken place.

"And I see that the rumours you bonded are true."

OOC: No worries, Rorschach. Life should always take precedence. That said... it's good to see you back.  :)

IC: Faora

What did she mean?

She knew, of course, but admitting it was much more difficult. It was much easier to ignore her emotions and focus on other things. But she couldn't do that here. This was too important, too pressing, too... pleasant.

"I mean..." Her voice faltered. How was she supposed to answer this? Her mind was telling her one thing, while her mouth wanted to say something else. But it wasn't just her mouth was it?

It was her heart.

"I mean... you. You are... that... one... person." It was hard to get the words out, but she had to. "And by that, I mean that I..."

Love.

You.

Say it, Faora. Say it.

But why? I just met him, what, today? Yesterday? I can't even remember. Regardless, I don't really know him, now do I? I can't know him, not so soon after meeting him..

You can fool the mind, Faora, but not the heart. You can try, but you're only prolonging the inevitable.

She closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and then opened them again. She looked him straight in the eye and then deactivated her mask. And then, without trying to figure this out logically, weighing both sides as she so often did, she just relaxed and spoke the words.

"I love you, Zealot."

Oh Mata Nui, help me.

IC: Agrona - Ko-Wahi - The Citadel

'They think we don't believe in their power,' Agrona signed back, trying to keep to rudiment words to avoid any confusions. Toros had learned a lot in recent days, but it would be a while before they could get too complicated. The language was still pretty clunky. She tried to search for the word that would indicate Syvra and quickly found how to phrase her statement, 'The cultist you fought, Kini-Nui, had power we knew about though.'

She waited a moment, 'Why were you there?'
