BZPRPG - Ko-Wahi

[Not Quite Dead]

IC: The hospital loomed in the distance, at first no more than a squat and pale shape through the blizzard. Brontes had been using his Calix for nearly ten minutes, pushing his muscles and lungs to perform near the level of professional Kohlii players and other athletes. He saw the hospital now had a hole blown into the wall, and more people. Many more.

 

He was on the far side from the entrance, he rounded the corner and passed near the hole in the wall. "Not good," he thought, fearing that enemies had already attacked the hospital, or that their captured foes had broken loose. He heard snatches of conversation through the hole. "Not good... Sanctum has fallen, or is in the... and the doctors are all loaded with patients... me to deal with this on my lonesome."

 

He walked to the breach and entered, seeing a female Toa and a Ko-Toa with an Iden. They already seemed to be discussing the Koro's fate.

 

"Ko-Koro has fallen. The Citadel and Sanctum are breached. Dozens, possibly even hundreds of enemies are within the walls now, the gate was blown apart hours ago." He told the two and anyone listening. "We have to begin evacuating the hospital as soon as possible. It could be hours or even minutes until the enemy is upon us here."

IC: Xxeth

 

A rock? How original. Xxeth wasn't too concerned about a simple rock, as it flew towards him he merely dodged to the left, his mask giving me a slight boost of speed as well. 

 

The Toa of Stone was becoming quite the nuisance however, his new allies were having similar problems as well. This had to change. Xxeth smirked inwardly as a plan began to form in his mind. 

 

The wind began to swirl all around him, dust, snow, and other debris began to collect and swarm all around him and the Toa of Stone, their vision of each other becoming more and more difficult. Xxeth kept moving, not wanting a nasty surprise rock falling on his head. Soon the Toa of Stone could no longer see him, and obviously kept himself on guard, waiting for an imminent attack. 

 

Xxeth however, had different ideas, while his opponent tried in vain to see through the swarm of snow and dust, Xxeth turned his attention to the other combatants in play. His mask flashed as it activated and he moved quickly so that he was a good distance behind the Skakdi of ice that was attacking Panyk. With one of his crossbows now in hand, he loaded it with a protosteel bolt, took aim, and fired at the Skakdi's head from behind him. The stupid Skakdi was focused on using his laser vision, he'd never see it coming. 

 

Xxeth didn't play fair, he was a mercenary, and a good one at that. 

 

IC: Wraith

 

"Watch my body..." Wraith said plainly to the others as he sat down into a meditative position. "...I'm going to scout ahead." With that he closed his eyes and his mask activated, his spirit separating from his body thanks to his Kanohi Iden. He wasn't quite ready to believe his village was lost despite Kimala and Brontes' words.  

 

With that his spirit, invisible to all, flew off toward Ko-koro. What he saw shook even the normally stoic Toa's heart. Chaos, destruction, death...it was everywhere. Wraith realised very quickly that his village was lost...and the hospital would follow...

 

His spirit flew into the sanctum, his spirit annoying things like walls and other obstacles...then he saw him. Echelon... It didn't come as a surprise to Wraith that Echelon was behind this, but it enraged him all the same. 

 

With nothing else to be done, his spirit began to fly back toward the hospital.

IC Londar

Okay then... So it was going to be like this.

 

This sucked.

 

The Fe-Matoran was flying once again, with a mixture of terror and incredulity on his face. He shot Echelon a dirty look, which screamed both "Just kill me now" and "How stupid can this get?".

IC: Agrona

Agrona walked alongside Londar's levitating body, Toros heeling next to her, "Be careful what it is you ask of us," she sneered, "We may grant your wish in a way you don't want."

IC Londar

"Yeah, you too."

IC: Dahkapa (Near the main gate)

 

As Dahkapa was running towards Zekev, he could suddenly feel lighter, and he lost his momentum. He stopped near Zekev, and the Skakdi swung his frost axe towards him. He didn't have time to block it, and he prepared for pain..

 

Suddenly, a gust of wind blew towards him, and pushed him farther. Zekev's swing missed barely. He soon realized that it had been the green Toa, who apparently was a Toa of Air. He used this moment to strike at the Skakdi, and swung his war hammer towards his head.

 

OoC: New character

 

IC: Dakku (Ko-Koro)

 

The last few hours had been very confusing. At first I had thought that it had been a yet another terrorist attack,this time in the Sanctum itself, but later it was clear that it was something much, much worse. The city was under attack. How did that happen? Wasn't Makuta defeated by brave heroes,  great Reordin among them? I couldn't believe it, and neither could my wife.

 

We had been hiding in our home for an hour now, too afraid to go out. The streets are almost completely empty, silent. Even more silent than usual, which was strange. Ko-Koro was a quiet city, but now it felt like a lifeless one. I was looking out of the window, when I saw someone. At first, fear grasped my guts, but I realized that it was a member of the Sanctum Guards. "I'll go talk with him", I said to Haukka, my wife. She told me to be careful when I slowly opened the door, and greeted the guardswoman.

 

"We are evacuating the city", she said. "All inhabitants must gather at the barracks. Only take your most valuable belongings. We don't have much time."

 

It took a moment for me to comprehend her words. The city will fall.. I couldn't believe it. Wasn't the reign of darkness over? What was going on? The guardswoman interrupted my thoughts, told us to hurry. I nodded, went inside and told Haukka what she had said. She seemed sad, and to be honest, I was sad as well. We both decided to pray for the Great Spirit to help us in these dire times, and started to pack up all of our important belongings. For me, it was tragic to know, that all the buildings I helped to build might be torn down, destroyed. All the work, turned worthless. My wife tried to comfort me by saying that we might return, the battle will be won when warriors from other Koros come to our aid and defeat the attackers. I smiled, and she kissed me to the cheek and we hugged. She told me that everything will be okay.

We soon arrived at the barracks. The Sanctum Guard was fortifying it, preparing for battle. A large group of people had gathered in front of it, full of men, women and children, most of them Ko-matoran. We waited, more people came and soon soldiers ordered us to follow. We went through the outskirts to the city, until we arrived at a metal door I had seen it before, but I didn't know what was behind it. I noticed pools of dried blood near it, but the guardsmen paid no attention to them. The door was opened, and we were led to an icy passage, carved inside the mountain. It was a very long and cold tunnel, and we kept walking in it for a while. Soon we arrived at the Nuju-Marion hospital and academy. Why were they taking us here? My wife told me that we might be evacuated from here. Had the main gate fallen? Maybe that second explosion had come from it. Mata Nui, I hoped not.

 

The hospital was busy, and it seemed like it was being evacuated as well. But soon I wondered, where would we go? Ko-Koro was surrounded by ice and snow, no food for many kios around us. The closest Koro was almost a hundred Kio away. How would we have enough food and drinking water for such a journey? I didn't know, but I hoped that the Sanctum Guard did.

 

OoC: Note: Part of the population of Ko-Koro is being evacuated through the hospital. Dakku is open for interaction.

IC: (Larikon Torchbearer)

 

The slurring in his own voice told Larikon everything he needed to know. Jaaku was right, he would not be able to lead the Brotherhood into battle. He needed a new leader to spearhead the offensive. Rakona seemed able, he would name her Marshal for the battle. He hazily looked down at Jaaku, with a mixture of sadness and confusion in his eyes.

 

"Lady Rakona shall be named Marshal then, I shall find rest inside a building for the time. Sir Jaaku, you shall escort me."

 

IC: (Sukot urn Voyuk)

 

The cold stemmed the bleeding somewhat. He lay in a crumple, the pain had crippled him somewhat. It was however the adrenaline that was keeping him up and conscious. The Nightfall had entered the Sanctum, he watched it happen. The explosion of what presumed was the gate dashed his hopes for victory. Ko-Koro was doomed. He could further fight the invaders, which he could barely do at the moment. He could flee, or maybe he could join the Makuta-worshippers (He presumed they were). As for the latter, it wouldn't have been the first time.

 

The guard, Revekk, still clang onto hope for victory. The kid wouldn't stop, didn't see the village was at the edge of the abyss, and would fly off in a minute. Sukot had been in that position, in his own youth. He felt it within his duty to break the Lesterin's bubble, to tell him run. He had an ounce of honor left, and it was quite honorable to convince the kid to get out of this icebox to avoid slavery, or an axe to the neck. Rising slightly, he gave a sigh, and told the guard in his accented voice:

 

"You have to get out of here, kid. Those little ***** have taken the Koro. Korzaa probably is without a head, and those slimeballs will enter through the gates any second. You're young, you're able, go! Go to the hospital, get your people to Le-Koro or Po-Koro or wherever they won't be enslaved. That is the most you can do, boy."

 

IC: (Thentyle)

 

Thentyle came quietly towards the scene of the battle, coming quick at them. He began to collapse the earth below Dahkapa, forcing it to sink below the Toa's feet.

 

IC: (Rakona)

 

Marshal, thank sounded nice in her mind. It was an honor, to lead the Brotherhood.

IC: Revekk (Citadel)

 

"I... I can't do that. I have to stop them"

 

The Toa's words were reasonable, my brain made that very clear to me, but my heart could naught but ache at the notion of abandoning the fight for any reason. A real Toa wouldn't do that, he would see the odds stacked against him and beat them anyway.

 

"You're not a Toa, idiot"

 

The voice was back, that nagging yelp in the back of my head that kept telling me things I didn't want to hear.

 

"Shut up, I'm living up to the title, not trying to be the species"

 

And yet, without the Toa's assistance I was barred from entering the Sanctum, and from further opposing the Nightfall's forces. For the millionth time I cursed my genes, my very blood and bone, for not being able to reach the potential I had been expected to.

 

Darnit all.

IC: (Sukot urn Voyk)

 

"Being a body upon the Sanctum floor, you won't be able to stop anything," Sukot replied, struggling to rise. "Go. And don't give a care about me. I can find my own way out of this ****."

IC: Well, this was a huge waste of time...

Verulas was about to turn back when a sudden noise from the hallway caused him to jump, his body bumping into a nearby table and knocking over a backpack as its contents spilled out across the floor. He raised his sword defensively and activated his mask, his eyes trained on the door before eventually realising that it was just a rusty pipe.

This place is messing with your head. Get a grip, man.

He sighed, resheathing the weapon and letting the mask deactivate before bending over to retrieve the bag's contents; a few writing implements, some tools, a couple of snacks, some other random items, and a journal. He went to place it back on the table near the body it belonged to when he saw something reflective on the floor behind it. Thinking it was another tool, he went around to pick it up before dropping the sack in shock.

Karz...

Resting on its side and staring lifelessly back up at him was the severed, half-burnt head of the Matoran he brought in only a few days ago.

[The Lorax]

IC: Having been dropped through the floor, the Skakdi of gravity ran for the stairs, taking them two at a time as he went to rejoin the battle.

 

Chavara's blast of flame missed its mark, having been thrown blindly and without really knowing where her target really was. It wasn't too difficult for the guard to sidestep it and continue his barrage of vision beams. He focused on the area where the sword had stabbed through, and the last of the earth fell away, leaving a hole about the size of a bamboo disk. The Skakdi saw the toa crouched inside with no room to manoeuvre, and directed his vision through the gap to strike at her directly.

 

The shivering of the ice wall behind Panyk hadn't been from the lasers hitting it, but had in fact been a subtle use of the Ko-Skakdi's elemental power as he prepared a backup plan for if Panyk had dodged. The ice there had become glassy smooth and reflective like a mirror, able to bounce them beams back and hit the toa from behind. As it turned out, however, it served another purpose - revealing Xxeth's sneak attack. The Skakdi threw himself out of the bolts's way while hitting the mirror with another laser vision blast, this one aimed to reflect and hit Xxeth. The three matoran guards also saw their opportunity to fire on Xxeth without risking a nearby guard. They each threw a disk at the criminal.

 

The Vortixx made their move, striking together at the trapped vako. One staff blocked its way while the second pierced its neck. The rahi thrashed about in pain before dropping to the floor, dead. A short time had passed since their parakuka had activated, but now the two had dealt with the rahi threat and were free to advance on Panyk, moving with all the speed and strength that the slugs allowed them. One jabbed his staff at the toa's head while the other swept a sideways blow at his mid-section.

 

Fighting against the lightning Toa, Kitano found it impossible to find an opening in the guard's defense. He was no slouch with the sword, but he was quickly getting the feeling that she was better. He was barely getting his shield up to block her blows and getting very few opportunities to strike back. He needed to get out of this dead-end situation and find another strategy. Focusing through the scope of his mask, Kitano found a spot well away from the toa and teleported. Her sword sliced through the space where he had been a moment before, and she looked up in confusion, searching for where he had gone. It didn't take long for her to find the black-armoured toa against the snow-white background, and she started towards him again, sword in hand and grim determination on her face.

 

The toa of stone sank into an alert crouch as the snow swirled around him and eventually settled. The toa of air hadn't attacked him while he was blinded, for which he quietly thanked the Great Spirit.

IC: The Toa Shaydas.

 

Chavara saw the skakdi, and the skakdi saw her, and she reactivated her mask just in time to block his impact vision attack. And now she could see exactly where he was. Opening her mouth into a wide open smile, Chavara spewed blazing flames right at the skakdi. 

 

Panyk, now limping, saw the two Vortixx coming at him. He ducked as the skakdi's second laser vision blast shot past him and reflected off the ice to fly towards Xxeth. The two parakuka-assisted Vortixx swung out at him, and he used his mask to teleport past and behind them. Turning, he focused his gravity powers on the parakuka, and pulled. 

 

Onic saw the ice skakdi dodge Xxeth's arrow and smiled to himself, using his power to rip up the ground in front of the retreating skakdi, showering him with dirt and rock. He advanced, cracking his knuckles. Time to finish this.

IC: Xxeth

 

"Ah ..." Xxeth knew what was coming, and had moved his cloak to cover himself as he dived onto the icy ground, the laser blast managed to hit his cloak, burning a nasty hole in it, the disks however flew right over him. 

 

Seeing the Skakdi of ice was now occupied with someone else, he turned his attention toward the three matoran. The little pests... He outstretched his hand and formed a quick mini-cyclone to occupy the matoran as he stood up, reloading his crossbow.

IC (Jin)

 

"That's it. She's gone."

 

I kept my guard up. Was he even listening? This guy was hard to read, to say the least, but maybe I could trick him into thinking for himself for once.

 

"Now, you have a choice. Even if you kill me, it won't bring your captain back, so you can believe me when I promise we won't hurt her, or you can continue this pointless fight until Echelon finds us, and I can guarantee that he won't be making any such promises."

 

IC- Ko-Koro Guard

 

The guard heard her loud and clear, but he did not care. He did not take orders from civilians. Especially not foreigners. Especially not off-island Vortixx. Especially not ones that arrived with the force that was trying to destroy Ko-Koro.

 

Even though Jin made sense, he did not pay her any mind. He had his orders, given directly to him by the woman he most trusted. She was beyond rescue, out of his reach. He could not help her, only carry out her final missive.

 

So he lunged forwards again, feinting a stab with one end and twirling the spear to attempt to hit Jin with its other side.

IC: Kimala

"Mata Nui #### it." She swore. She swung her fist at the wall, leaving a crack where it struck, and sending a stab of pain through her side. "Evacuate... surrender. When... How did Makuta's followers become so strong? To overcome the entire strength of Ko-Koro..."

IC: Wraith

 

"Echelon..." Wraith said as his spirit returned to his body, his eyes opening once more. "Echelon is leading them..." Wraith slowly stood, his usual stoicness betrayed by his slightly shaking fists. 

 

"The koro is overrun...and soon this hospital will be too..." He looked back toward the hospital, "We must help delay these invaders long enough for the hospital to be evacuated." 

 

Without another word he turned to look toward Ko-koro again. there was ice and snow between the enemy and the hospital. Wraith controlled the ice, felt it, was a part of it. He could turn the icy field into a death trap for the hospital's attackers.

IC: Verulas dropped to one knee, his trembling fingers touching the expressionless face before him as he gently closed the Matoran's eyes. He lifted the head slowly, parts of his mind still doubting that it was real as he carefully placed it next to his body and pulled the sheet back over him. His hands gently rested against the table as he hung his head and closed his eyes for a moment.

How did this happen?

The Toa turned his head, spying a nearby clipboard with forms attached to it before grabbing it and rifling through the pages frantically.

The Matoran recovered quickly in the days since Verulas had dropped him off and made his way inside the city. Unfortunately, he was caught inside when it was attacked. Some guards had come across his body later on and delivered him here. Cause of death was decapitation due to impact with a flaming projectile. He had no known next of kin.

His name was Celsakh.

Verulas tossed the clipboard on the table and stormed out, grabbing the backpack on his way back into the hall.

IC: Kimala

"I'll help," she said. "I need to atone for my previous failure." In all likelihood, what was coming would be worse than the single being who'd stabbed her, but she would never forgive herself if she didn't at least try.

IC: Verulas had managed to get halfway down said hallway before his feet refused to move for him and his fist flew through a wooden door, putting a hole in it and leaving his knuckles bloody. If those maniacs wanted into this hospital before evacuations were complete, they would have to step over his corpse first.

He was tired of watching people around him die while he was forced to keep living.

He ripped off a piece of his torn up cloak, wrapping it around his hand before making his way upstairs. He had almost returned to the lobby when he finally bumped into a doctor who wasn't doing anything terribly important (at least not in his eyes) and pointed them in the Toa of Crystal's direction.

"There's a Toa who's been waiting to get patched up for a while now. You might want to go check up on her," he said as he followed them back through the crowd.

OOC: Medic coming Kimala's way, as promised.

IC: Dayeth.

 

Outside in the snow, shivering from the cold, Dayeth stirred. The effect of the poison was beginning to wear off, and her body was desperately trying to wake her up. The defenders had clearly left her here to freeze to death. But they'd forgotten one thing: She was a Ta-Matoran. She wasn't going to freeze anytime soon.

 

And when she did eventually wake up, she was going to be incredibly off. 

[Makuta Miras]

IC: Haarnak (Ko-Koro in general)

 

Having made no headway in his attempt to melt through the Citadel's walls, Haarnak drifted back a few metres to survey the battlefield. It hadn't changed much since he had begun trying to destroy the Citadel's main spire. Spying a complex of buildings a way from the city's gates, he shot over the buildings of ice towards it.

 

Haarnak came upon the bizarre sight of an unconscious Vortixx and a female Ta-Matoran lying in the snow outside the gates of the complex with a large figure standing near them, with many Matoran coming out of a single building inside the complex. A small amount of Stralix powder was spilt on the ground near the two bodies- something which Haarnak grinned at. 

 

He drew a single arrow from his quiver.

He set it to his bow. 

He set the wood of the arrow, just above the head, alight.

He fired it at the patch of Stralix powder.

 

OOC: The Vortixx is Mortem, the Ta-Matoran is Dayeth, and the large figure is intended to be Krayzikk. If I missed anybody out, then I'm sorry, and as for the random Stralix powder, I believe that at some point earlier in the game Dayeth had some- I don't know if she used it all, but oh well. Haarnak likes explosions.

OOC: I think Kellin and Cancer are still somewhere nearby; I'm not sure if they're inside the hospital or outside. Also, Dayeth used up the last of her stralix powder while sneaking into the city - not that it amounted to much since she wound up back outside the city. Oh, and Krayzikk has a Kualsi, which means he can probably still get to you, even though you're flying, so be careful. 

 

IC: Dayeth.

 

Dayeth's eyes fluttered open, and she struggled dazedly against the wood trapping her. High above, she saw a flying archer loose an arrow right down towards the hospital. The tip glowed with fire. An angel of death and destruction, sent by Makuta to aid her, Dayeth was sure. 

 

That only left one question in Dayeth's mind: what the heck was he doing?

Mortem had awoken in time to see the arrow.

This newcomer obviously was here to aid them, but what did he hope to achieve with a burning arrow? Mortem would soon find out...

OOC: Thanks for clearing that up, Nato! It's intended to be fairly near, Silo.

IC: Haarnak (Ko-Koro Hospital/Academy)

The arrow was suddenly blown off course by a gust of wind, and instead of hitting the Stralix powder and creating a glorious fireball, it thumped into a snowdrift some fifty metres away. Haarnak smacked a hand into the forehead of his Kadin, silently berating himself for not taking the fickle mountain air into consideration when he wasted an arrow. Still fuming (Get it? He's a Toa of Fire) inside his head, Haarnak drifted down until he was hovering just above the detained beings' heads. He cocked his head to one side, and said to them, in a perfectly calm voice;

"Well, well, well... What do we have here? A couple of naughty little bad guys caught by some little goodie-two-shoes? Here's the deal, fools: Two hundred widgets and I'll free you. Do we have an agreement?"

IC: Dayeth.

 

"You've got to be kidding me," Dayeth squirmed, trying to free herself from the wood binding her. "You want my money as well? Sorry, no deal. The last person I tried to pay off took my money, then betrayed me. If you free me, and Mortem too, then I'll pay you. After, not before."

As Dahkapa began to swing his war hammer, the earth suddenly sank beneath him, and he fell over.  What the-, he thought before seeing an Onu-Toa moving towards them slowly. Great.. He began to stand up, but his enemies had a chance to strike..

IC: Verulas entered the lobby, signalling the female Toa that the aid she needed had finally arrived. He noticed the two new arrivals next to her, an Ice-Toa with an Iden and a Lightning-Toa wearing a Hau, and was surprised that others where showing up for this shindig.

Four was a crowd, however, so he didn't go back over to converse.

He was good at escaping the notice of others, even when his mask wasn't in use.

He figured he'd be more useful outside anyway, setting up defences around the hospital; it was his job to hold out long enough so the injured wouldn't have to fight, after all. He exited the doors and walked back out into the snow, just in time to see a Toa of Fire trying to arrange a transaction in exchange for freeing the prisoners.

It was good to know there were other people who loved widgets as much as he did.

He drew his sword, throwing the backpack behind a snowbank.

"Are you still on that?," he asked the Ta-Matoran. "You can't betray someone you never hired yourself out to; that's Merc 101."

"You've got to be kidding me," Dayeth squirmed, trying to free herself from the wood binding her. "You want my money as well? Sorry, no deal. The last person I tried to pay off took my money, then betrayed me. If you free me, and Mortem too, then I'll pay you. After, not before." 

 

"Very well. Two things to note, though. One: I have no idea whatsoever about how to use this dagger of mine, so I'm going to burn your cage off of you. Two: If you run without paying me afterwards, then you'll be face-down in the snow with an arrow in your back. As for you, Vortixx... You seem to be enough of a religious fanatic to be trustworthy. We have a deal."

OOC: Jeez guys, give me time to reply. I've had to change my post twice. 

 

IC: Dayeth.

 

Dayeth craned her stiff neck to look at the newcomer, still dizzy from the dose of poison she'd been given... at the hand of Verulas' knife. "You still took my money you faithless son of a rahi-######!" she spat. "How about you give me back the hundred widgets I gave you and I can give it to this kind gentlemen here to set me free," she was talking more to the fire Toa than Verulas now, hoping that the mere mention of money might get him interested, "then I'll give him my other hundred to set Mortem free." 

 

Mortem's shout suddenly caught her attention. "100 widgets to both of you! Now free me in the name of Makuta!"

 

"Okay, now we'll both pay you." Dayeth offered, but the fire Toa needed no more convincing. 

 

We have a deal." he said.

IC: Haarnak (Ko-Koro Hospital)

 

Haarnak floated down gently from his vantage point, vacantly sending a kick towards the Bo-Toa's face, and aimed a small jet of indigo fire at a crack in the wood encasing Dayeth. The wood around the crack began to smolder and blacken, and almost before anyone knew it the wood was alive with tiny flicks of flame shooting up and down its length. His mind fully concentrated on the task at hand and how much Stralix powder he could buy with two hundred widgets, Haarnak extinguished the minuscule blazes, and soon he was rewarded by the wood splintering all the way through to the interior. With a tiny bit more heat, the organic cage fell apart quite literally at the seams, and then as soon as the fragments were clear of Dayeth, Haarnak set light to them, creating a very satisfying inferno which flickered and gleamed in his not-quite-sane lime-green eyes.   

"I'd say that you can handle it from there, employer." Haarnak said, and held out his gloved hand for the money which he had been promised. 

The Fire Toa then turned his luminous gaze on Verulas.

"And Plantlife Toa, remember the old saying: Honour among thieves. You have none.", Haarnak spat at him, with true venom in his voice.

OOC: Last time I checked, Raaka was outside too.

IC: "Watch your tongue, lady. Someone might get the impression that you would like to have it cut from your mouth one day," Verulas said in response to the Ta-Matoran's cursing.

"And I can think of five reasons why that deal would go south," he interjected, referring to himself, Kellin, Cancer, the Skakdi, and the Jolly Grey Giant as he leaped off of the steps and landed about ten feet away. "So I'd do the smart thing and leave if I were you."

He smirked as his free hand unsheathed a poisoned dagger from his sword arm.

"Unless you want to be the newest addition to our prisoner collection, that is."

The Toa of Plantlife barely had time to react to the kick aimed at his head, rolling out of the way as the Toa of Fire freed the Ta-Matoran. His cape kicked snow into the air as he returned to his feet, throwing the knife at his foe's face in an attempt to distract him from the vine he aimed to wrap around his foot. The plan? Yank him into the ground.

"Here you go." Dayeth handed over her second - and final - coinpurse to the flying fire Toa. 

 

She saw Verulas attempt to snag the Toa with a vine, and in a flash her axe hacked it apart in midair. "We help Mortem, then we leave." Dayeth suggested cautiously. She was still weakened by the poison, and knew she wouldn't last long in another battle.

 

It was time to run to live and fight another day.

IC: Haarnak (Ko-Koro Hospital)
The Fire Toa turned his head to one side as Verulas' dagger flew past his Kadin, missing it by millimetres. Or not, seeing as it chopped off the tip of the spike on the right side of Haarnak's Kanohi. He stuffed Dayeth's purse roughly into a pocket, nodded to her in thanks for both the money and the help in dealing with Verulas' vine, and promptly sheared seamlessly through Mortem's bonds in a process very similar to that which he used to free Dayeth's. Haarnak then drew his bow again, and sent a burning arrow tipped with Stralix powder flying towards the Bo-Toa's abdomen- that is, his centre of mass.

While Haarnak fired an arrow at Verulas' chest, Dayeth picked up her dropped knife out of the snow, then pulled her Volo Lutu launcher out from under her cloak. She stuck the knife on the business end of the gun, then fired that at Verulas as well. 

 

She was going to make him pay for what he'd done.

OOC: I thought someone relieved Dayeth of her weapons when she was captured. I'll roll with it anyway...

IC: "Since when did that apply to those you steal from? Besides," Verulas said, eying his foe as the knife flew through the air. "Survival leaves no room for honor."

Before he could react, a flying hatchet cut through his vine, the action immediately causing him to turn his attention on her.

Two can play that game, lady.

Wanting to keep the Fire-Toa off of his back for a bit, a mist-bomb fruit appeared in his hand. He threw it against a patch of ice, the plant bursting at the impact and releasing a green cloud that blanketed the small area around them. His Volitak activated as he slipped inside of it, the arrow cutting through his side as he tried to dodge. Luckily, it did not get caught in his flesh, and instead continued on it's path as the resulting explosion singed his cape. The knife, however, pierced his left shoulder as he went to knock her to the ground with the flat of his sword.

Dayeth's knife hit home with a satisfying thunk, piercing deep into Verulas' shoulder. Haarnak shook his head at how easily the Toa dodged his perfectly aimed arrow, and then proceeded to bathe the entire green cloud which had leapt up around Verulas in flame, expertly directing the waves of heat away from Mortem and Dayeth and concentrating the inferno on the cloud.
"You may have a Volitak, but I have fire, Toa, and fire destroys all. Even your precious plants.", Haarnak shouted, even as the roar of the flames gushing from his hands enveloped his sense of hearing.

OOC: Oh, did they? I can't seem to find anything saying that. I just assumed she was left alone, since she was tied up and was already unconscious. 

 

IC: Dayeth.

 

Dayeth felt her knife impact something, but before she could enjoy her moment of victory, she was struck by a powerful blow that drove her backwards off her feet. But adrenaline filled her veins now, and devotion guided her movements. Lust for vengeance focused her thoughts. She kept a tight grip on the launcher despite the strength of Verulas' strike and fired up the grappel just as Haarnak's flames burst into life around them.

 

Depending on how her knife had stuck into his flesh, the launcher would either brutally rip the knife free, or, if it was stuck, it would yank her towards him. She readied herself, knowing that either option would be really messy.

IC: Kimala - Hospital

Meanwhile, the female Toa watched, confused, as the fight broke out. She absorbed the crystal she had used to plug her wound and let the doctor get to work on it. Stitches. She hated stitches. Working under such unstable circumstances, the going was slow, and she didn't have the patience to wait as the fight raged on.

 

"ENOUGH!" she bellowed, reaching out with her hand. Unable to intervene, she summoned shackles of crystal, attempting to ensnare the fighters. She couldn't pinpoint the location of the Volitak user, but she would worry about him later. Ignoring the doctor's protests, she bellowed. "This fight is pointless, set your debts aside and worry about your necks instead!"

OOC: Well I assumed someone did, as guards usually strip prisoners of weapons. Btw, Verulas didn't completely dodge it Miras; it still ripped through his side.

IC: "Lady," Verulas said as the Toa of Crystal lashed out with both her powers and her words. "I'm always watching my neck."

He could see the Ta-Matoran pulling back on the launcher, but was forced to ignore her, feeling the heat from the surrounding flames approach him, evaporating his cloud of mist. This was starting to get bad.

Karz.

He ducked, pulling his cape around his torso to try to partially shield himself from the blaze as the knife tore itself from his shoulder. He could feel the cloth starting to burn against his flesh as he rolled through the snow in hope that the frozen water would extinguish it, which it did as he escaped the center of the inferno.

"Then taste my steel!," he said as his palm touched the ground, causing a tree to emerge from beneath his now visible, smoking, and bloody body as he shot towards the Fire-Toa, sword raised.

IC: Wraith

 

Wraith, already in a rather unfortunate mood, looked toward the fighters that were causing unnecessary chaos when they needed to be preparing for an attack. They found the air around they dropping in temperature at an alarming rate, ice starting to form on everything around them, including themselves. It was already cold as it was, now it was even colder.
