IC:

About fifteen minutes ago, Sylus had walked into an adjoining hallway; he then walked back out of it, dragging a wooden chair behind him that no one could remember having been in the Sanctum before. He promptly set it up next to the closest wall and began happily lounging in it.

"Singing ... person," he said casually. "What's your name, again?"

IC Sharky

"Name?"

Tim the Kid was born Tim Wade, better known as Tim the Shark or Sharky. A lone wolf from the outset, the young Tim was given up for adoption after birth, and after a misspent youth, moved to Le-Wahi to make a new life for himself. Often referred to as the Gold Coast King, a reference to a period of time he worked as a loan shark on Le-Wahi's gold coast, the name Sharky comes from a childhood spent in pool halls hustling for money on tables, a name which later ironically represented his work as a loan shark. His name is symbolized by a shoulder tattoo that displays a shark holding money. Other notable tattoos on Tim’s body include the words “self-made” tattooed across his knuckles  and “No retreat, no remorse”,  tattooed on his arms, in reference to his famous court battle in 2002. He also has the words “Army of One” tattooed around his neck. His reputation on the Gold Coast as a “gangster-cum-mafia” type figure was borne out of numerous accusations of violence during his years as a loan shark, many of which were raised but never proven in a court case against his company Shark Financial Services. Many have also speculated on his involvement with underworld activities and well-know mafia figures. In 2002 a court case deemed Shark Financial Services to have been involved in illegal business practices, and as a result Tim was ordered to pay $270,000 in fines relating to many of his loan contracts not being in compliance with Le-Wahi law. Shark Financial Services’ interest rates were said to vary from 156% to 208% per annum, rising to as much as 360% if payments were late. Shark Financial Services was said to have thrived on lending money to those in dire financial need, supporting illegal drug habits, or perhaps even drug dealers themselves.

Sharky is well-known in Le-Wahi for his flamboyance and flashy Ussal-driven carts, and at one time he owned yellow Lambonkleghini, a white Lambonkleghini and an orange Lambonkleghini. Although it is said that many of his assets were seized during the court case, he still owns a property and nightclubs in Le-Koro. He has since gone on record as saying all that stuff is “fake, worthless ”.

Since his arrival in 2009, he has become a staple feature of the town of Ko-Koro, with many tourists seeking him out for a picture pose. He spends much of his time in the gym, both training hard as he has done since he was sixteen, and showing younger guys how to sculpt out a powerful, ripped physique. Among locals Sharky is known as an animal lover, and is regularly seen feeding dogs. His love for animals stems from a childhood as a relative outcast, something that has compelled him to protect the most vulnerable in society. In his own words, “I grew up on the streets. I never had parents. That was a big part of it. I was picked on when I was a kid.  A boy brought me home with him and his parents pulled him inside and slammed the door.  I was that kid.” Since Sharky's move to Ko-Koro and subsequent presence in intra-koro bulletin boards and on social networks, his notoriety has grown. Interest in his past continues to gain momentum, and he has attracted an island-wide legion of fans who view him as somewhat iconic; a modern personification of the Alpha male. Soft at heart Sharky may be, but a having led a life of hard-knocks he remains a force to be reckoned with. Even at the ripe age of [citation needed], he doesn’t shy away from a challenge, and in recent times has thrown the gauntlet down to a number of keyboard warriors who have ‘called him out’ online.  To date no one has taken up his offer of a 10,000 widget fight challenge.

He took and shook the hand.

"So, how'd ya get into this kinda business? Hard to imagine a prettyboy like ya self falling in with the schlubs of Ko-Koro."

He briefly considered asking what the that rubbery thing on his face was, be he decided towards prudence. It might be a sore subject for the Toa and he didn't want to offend.

IC: Xxeth

...

"You know,  threatening the guy holding the crossbow is a pretty gutsy move. If I wasn't such a nice person I'd have shot you in the leg." Plus, he'd have to drag his screaming body the whole way to the sanctum if he did that, such a hassle.

"But alright, I'll amuse you for a moment. Since we have some time before we reach our destination..." They started to walk again. "They call me Xxeth, Xxeth Daring. If you hadn't figured it out, I'm originally from Le-koro, born and raised there. Believe it or not I come from a family that was about as self-righteous as you can get, all in the name of Mata Nui and all stupid ######. Of course in their self-righteousness my parents got themselves killed by a horde of Rahkshi, leaving their three children orphans." Xxeth didn't sound sad when he spoke, or even angry, it was more of a tone of indifference.

"Growing up, I suppose I could be called the 'black sheep' of my family. My brother..." No, that wasn't the correct description anymore. "...err, sister rather, Skyra. She took it upon herself to become as self-righteous and judgmental as possible, joined the Gukko Force, became an officer. While I took a liking to...much shadier work, I started taking jobs as a mercenary, didn't really care who I got the jobs from, or what they were. It wasn't a problem till Skyra started to secretly investigate my actions, used me to bust an entire operation. She got a promotion, and then banished me from the village." When he spoke of his sister, you could almost sense a silent rage.

"Thankfully, I'm good at what I do, I've done a number of jobs for Echelon in the past, it was easily enough to join this little cabal of his. As long as I can stay here, get good pay, that's all I need." Xxeth turned to look at Ambages. "Well, you satisfied with that? Enough to get you to shut up about it the rest of the way?"

OOC: Well, moving on then.

IC: Xxeth

Before they knew it, they had arrived at the citadel, where the Nightfall was awaiting their arrival. "Well, isn't this exciting? Old guy in charge gets to meet the new people in charge, truly a historic moment! Why I wouldn't miss this for the world!" Xxeth said with mocking enthusiasm, he had no idea how this would play out, but it certainly would be interesting.

"Ladies and gentlemen! May I present to you...Ambages! The guy that we took an entire city from!" Xxeth announced as he walked in before the assembled Nightfall, Ambages in tow. "I'd take credit for his capture but...he literally walked right in, of his own free will! Isn't that something?"

IC (Rorg)

I halt my exit; I turn and walk slowly back to the assembled group.

A Matoran stands before us, small and helpless. So this is Ambages himself, former ruler of Ko-Koro? He seems unafraid; that quality alone is what allows me to believe. No ordinary man would stand before the likes of these without fear.

Closer. I scrutinize his face. He does not appear hurried or out of place, which activates a twinge of caution in the back of my skull. The former Akiri would not come alone (if what this guard says is true) if he had no plan. I do not see the strings, but that does not mean they do not exist. Too many variables obscure my sight. The patterns are not clear.

I ready my weapon. That alone is a pattern I have faith in.

IC: Chivinix

The insectoid continued surveying the remains of the Market. Anything of worth had been picked clean by now, but alas what Chivinix considered valuable varied from the common person's definition. For him it was knick-knacks and trinkets that intrigued. Things that while lacking in monetary value often held value to someone, or things that are just so odd that no one wishes to waste time with them. But what he enjoyed the most was the potential stories these items had.

From a snow covered bowl he dug out what looked like some bracelet, each wooden bead carved crudely and in a rush it seemed. His eyes scanned over the rest of the booth, trying to find something to compare the craftsmanship to. Alas nothing remained but a few broken bits and pieces. He brought it closer to his face, noting small gashes within some of the beads.

Perhaps the owner of the booth had a family, child even. Child wishing to take after parent craft this and give it to parent to sell. Parent knows item will never sell, but adds it anyway for child's sake.

Carefully he laid it back down atop the booth, placing the bowl over it to conceal the item.

Maybe one day the booth owner will return and find the item still present, knowing not even thieves wanted it for free. Hopefully dissuade child from wasting life on craft they fail in.

IC: Arcturia

"True," she mumbled, "But I'd rather not risk my neck to confront those whom I'd not bother with in the first place."

IC:

"Our time in this world is marked by our impact on others," I say, recalling a similar sentiment being conveyed to me by Doseki of Po-Koro, those many days ago in a time and place most unlike this one. "You would wish to limit yourself and your legacy?"

IC Sharky

Unchecked self interest was an ugly thing.

"Only thing I'd think he was sellin' is a thesaurus." He scratched the back of his head, reluctant to ask, but... "Speaking of sin, what is that ugly as sin thing you've got on your face?"

IC:

Sylus' eyes widened in mock surprise, bringing one finger up to point innocently at his mask.

"What, this?" he asked, a smile slowly creeping onto his face, bringing his hand down to support his chin. "This is what Hakann was selling, friend. S'called the Kanohi Elda. Heard of it?"

"Can't say I have, what does it do, give you headaches? It looks awfully tight."

Tight might not have been the word to describe it, constraining or clingy might be a better word. It looked like some sushi had stitched itself together and latched on to his face, squeezing the life from it's would be eater.

IC (Kohra):

Well, well, well...what have we here?

The Vortixx didn't turn, instead listening from where she was sitting. No doubt Ambages had come to talk to Echelon. It seemed this was not his lucky day.

"No Matoran would dare come here and risk their life, no matter their social standing. Not unless they assumed themselves to be in a position that allowed for negotiation. For your sake I hope your assumption is correct."

There was a silence, cut through by a drop of molten water hitting the blood-stained wall of prophecies...

-----

(Traveler)

As soon as the dark Toa spotted his target, the traveler vanished from sight, using a combination of his control over air and the Kanohi Volitak. He followed the mercenary Toa escorting Ambages inside the sanctum. He had no plans to attack anybody, only to make sure the architect did not die. He had made a deal and was merely upholding his end of it. And that meant staying close to Ambages.

Kale Ironshaper- Ko-wahi- Koro Gates

IC: A frozen breath was expelled from the Metal Toa's lungs as he paused before the gates of the semi-recently conquered koro of Ice. The plans had been made and were now in motion, it was time to see if their disguises and the pair's relative anonymity would hold up.

A quick glance to the Toa of Sound extended the silence a moment longer before Kale called out.

"Ahoy the gates! A pair o' mercenaries here to see if there is any money to be made!"

"I serve the weak. I serve the helpless. I am their sword and their shield. If you want to strike at them, you must go through me, and I am not so easily moved."

IC: Skyra - Ko-Wahi Wilderness -

We'd made it into the cold wilderness that was Ko-Wahi without incident, it was as harsh and uninviting as I remembered. As we marched through the snow I was glad I'd put a decent pair of boots on, getting snow inside your boots was simply the worst. Running through the snow hadn't been quite as taxing as I had expected it to be, though I soon realized that was probably because of my new mask. I was still getting used to it's powers, but so far I was liking it. We continued through the region until we were able to see lights in the far distance, indicating that Ko-koro was near. This was where Krayn and Kale continued on and the rest of us remained and made camp. We were able to gather enough wood and start a fire, and we had blankets with us as well. Anyone who didn't come prepared to a place like this was just asking to die.

The wind had long since stopped blowing against us because I had stopped it. The cold was a lot more bearable when it wasn't blowing against your face. I had settled down by the fire, relatively alone with my thoughts. It was rather out of character for me. I was one of the louder and more outspoken individuals you could meet, but I had a lot on my mind. I knew that Krayn and Kale would more than likely have no trouble getting inside the gates, but I still worried. What if they were found out? Would they be killed? Or worse? Would the hostages be killed too? I'd never be able to live with myself if that happened...I...didn't want to lose Krayn...

Krayn...I had to think about that...it was odd...but somewhere down the road he'd changed from being someone I really didn't like to a dear friend. How had that even happened? Did he even know I considered him a friend? What if he thought I still hated him? I also needed to really apologize to him...god what if he died before I was able to do that?

I shook my head, I really needed to stop thinking about this, it was driving me crazy.

"You're right." I said in agreement, looking at the fire wistfully as I pulled my blanket over myself a little tighter. I let out sigh. "They're better men than I could ever hope to be."

It took me a bit, but I realised how that sounded, considering that I used to be an actual man. "I meant that figuratively." I'd actually forgotten I was a woman for a moment...I decided to blame it on the fire, it was making me sleepy.

I nodded. "Alright, obviously the most important thing is what to call ourselves. I'll be calling myself Kinerya, merc for hire who is about as morally grey as you can get, works strictly for coin..." I paused, thinking about other details to add. "Since we're going to arrive together, we'll be partners who have worked together for so long we've lost count. And you get protective whenever some creep tries to hit on me, because I really don't want to deal with that." I said that last part a bit awkwardly, but I figured it would be better than letting whatever scum that roamed Ko-koro think they could approach me.

Rynekk nodded slowly, a sardonic smile flickering on his face. He flipped down the hood of his cloak and adjusted the straps on his bracers; it was always tricky wearing someone else's armour. God knew, he'd been doing that for the past year and a half.

"Sounds good to me," he said, looking over at Skyra -- Kinerya, he corrected quickly. Couldn't risk saying the wrong name at the wrong time, now could he? "In that case, I'll be Libero: mercenary and part-time worshipper of Makuta. I've got knowledge on the subject and it might make us look a little better in there."

"RIght, right. Or you could be like me and just worship money. You can both worship and do your job at the same time then, very convenient." I figured I might as well start getting into character now, get plenty of practice before it was our turn to enter the city.

IC: Cyrix's mouth twitched. He wasn't doing anything useful. He slung his crossbow onto his back, and walked over to the roof hatch, tightening his scarf. Korero would likely be a while; he could afford a little recon duty. Activating his Volitak, the Le-Toa slipped up the ladder, opening the hatch. Snow poured past him, and he crawled onto the roof of the abandoned building, and ran to the corner, resting behind the short wall on the edge. Under the cover of his Volitak, he observed what he could of Ko-Koro.

The times, they are a-changing...

TheKo Toa sat alonein his room. He had no way of knowing how much time had passed, only that the broken remnants of spent tobacco clung to the air, filling his vision with a cloudy fog. His mind was similarly clouded, blurred by the unchecked emotions that he was meditating to freeze.

The floor was skewed with half open books, scribbled papers of old memories and half formed thoughts.

Essence.

Accident.

Form.

Being.

Passion.

Emotion.

Memories.

Love.

The Zealot was haunted by concepts such as these. He had been here, toiling over these fragmented thoughts for Mata Nui knows how long.

His heart ached and his mind throbbed.

He needed to find solace.

His room was decorated in ancient homage to the great citadel. A shrine to the sanctum where he worshipped. A temple for his own heart.

The sanctum where he had once found peace was now a place of sacrilege.

The desecration of the temple.

Exactly as prophesied.

Veneras prayed he would not live to see the day.

And now Zealot stood in it's wake.

He needed peace.

He needed rest.

He needed a drink.

IC Yeri

Mac's Place had been under construction for weeks, and now finally the Obsidian Outpost had it's own in house bar. Yeri sat behind the bar cleaning glasses waiting for his first customer, singing to himself the familiar tune,

"OY!

I sailed my ship down to the bay,

awaaaayy, down to Naho.

I sailed away to find my stay

down at Naho Bay.

I had me a bottle of Po Pale Ale

down at Naho Bay.

I docked my ship and tossed my line

awaayy down at Naho

I drank my ale and i found my stay

down at Naho Bay.

I filled my sails with wind and ale

down at Naho Bay.

Awwayyyy down at Naho."

He was about to begin another chorus when a white and blue Toa came stumbling in. "'Ello loddie, 'ad a bit too much of the predrink 'ave we?"

The Ko Toa simply plopped at the stool, head in hands

His request: "Vodka" was his only word.

OOC both Yeri and Zealot are open for interaction
