BZPRPG - Ko-Wahi

IC: "Didn't I say we needed to hurt those two earlier?" Brontes thought, it seemed the vortixx and ta-matoran were still thorns in the side of the hospital. They had no time for this now, they needed to be moving, and fast. He saw that the Ko-Toa with the Iden was freezing the air and water vapor around the fighters. With the explosions and fighting, the air was thick with ash and soot, making it a perfect conductor of electricity. It was unfortunate the plant Toa Verulas was caught in the fray. But he was a mercenary, they weren't to be trusted.

He threw a bolt of electricity, strong enough to stun at the ice and snow covered ground below the fighters, aiming to electrocute all of them through conduction.

OOC: You know, guys, Krayzikk is right there, by the original post targeting him. In the future, it's considered polite (and in fact borders on being a rule) to not post up a storm while someone who has a character right there hasn't even had a chance to post once.  ;)

IC:

Throughout all of this, somehow, the massive gray Titan had been forgotten. All the fighting, the chaos, the arguing, all of it had managed to distract all present from the very large being in the midst. Perhaps that wasn't surprising; he had slipped Mortem's cloak over himself as soon as things started to get hectic. For the Vortixx, it was large enough to provide easy cover, even when he aimed his staff; for the Titan, it was just enough to cover his frame.

When Mortem used it, he made tracks; when Krayzikk used his Kualsi, tracks weren't an issue. The depression in the snow where he now stood could have been seen, if anyone bothered to look; but with all the chaos, no one did. Which, for poor old Harnaak, was going to be quite problematic.

Because he'd taken another piece of equipment from the Vortixx he felled.

A staff, with the capability to fire blasts of destructive, and potentially lethal, energy. A staff pointed squarely at the Ta-Toa's back. The head was rock steady, aimed unerringly down the length of the staff. A moment later, a blast was sent flying through the air, where it would undoubtedly connect with his enemy. His foe would have scarcely had time to evade it given prior notice; without it, he didn't have a chance.

He would no doubt turn his flames upon the Titan next. Or he would, if he hadn't warped away the instant he fired, without waiting to see whether the shot connected, his mask carrying him away from his original point. Upon reappearing, still under the cloak, he stood stock still. Waiting for his next chance.

OOC: The equipment was mentioned as taken from Mortem in the first Krayzikk post following Mortem's descent into unconsciousness. As per the rules of foreign tech, it's currently in Krayzikk's possession.

If Mortem can find a way to take it back, despite significant injuries, it'll be his again. :P

IC: "Hey guys, Guard found another one to patch up--" Kellin said atop Cancer, head peeking into the hole from about twice his normal height.

It took him a moment to process the goings-on.

"...I want that back when you're done!" he called to the Titan, dismounting and grabbing his pickaxes, even as Cancer took the unconscious--and SWOLE--passenger to safer, more healing-oriented ground.

OOC: Sorry. Got a little carried away. I'll try to put some more time between posts.

IC: Verulas was about to strike at the Fire-Toa when his body suddenly became cold. Extremely cold.

He looked at his arm as ice began creeping up his body, causing some relief for his burns as it froze the blood trickling from his wounds. He tried to fight through the stiffness of his limbs when an unexpected bolt from who he could only presume to be the Lightning-Toa hit the snow on the ground, the electricity arcing through the coating of frozen water on the tree he had created and eventually entering him through his leg.

His muscles seized up, forcing him to drop his sword as he fell from the branch he was on and landed in a snowbank, twitching uncontrollably.

What... the Karz... Seriously...?

He was going to have words with him... later, preferably when he could stand again.

IC: Raaka

"...and I'll be glad to help."

The words were barely out of his mouth.

Tuft of flame.

Fire Toa swooping down.

Ta-Matoran and Vortixx bartering freedom; being freed.

Toa of Green fighting flying Ta-Toa.

Titan next to him becoming invisible.

Too fast. It was happening too fast.

No.

He was slow.

But he felt the sensation - a prickling in his veins - vision becoming crystal clear - every breath weighted, measured - a step, two, three...

It was speeding up again. Faster. Faster. Veins crackling beneath the skin. The cannon affixed to his left arm pulsating with energy.

A flash from the staff of the invisible Titan.

The Ta-Toa fighting the Bo-Toa. The Titan fighting the Ta-Toa.

What did the Ta-Matoran say?

"We help Mortem, then we leave."

Mortem. Vortixx. No attention paid to him.

Solution: Hostage.

The Skakdi of Sonics moved as quick as the lightning in his veins, eyes forward, focusing solely on the Vortixx, not paying attention. His legs pushed the ground down away from him as Raaka launched himself forward, arms outstretched, ready to tackle.

IC (Mortem)

The vortixx cursed as he caught sight of the place Krazikk was standing, and then turning, caught sight of Raaka.

He braced himself for the impact, but was knocked to the ground, rolling as he hit the floor, but realising that the skakdi was clinging onto him.

He drew back his hand to uppercut Raaka's proud skakdi jaw, putting all the pent up hate and rage and fury into the blow, driving his spiked hand upwards, simultaneously bringing his other fist round from the side.

His eyes were pure black, slits in a face contorted with unimaginable hate.

OOC: Mortem has been freed right?

OOC: Yes, he's no longer restrained. But still significantly injured.

IC: Raaka

Vortixx down.

Hmm.

Blood around the mouth. Wheezing slightly. Internal injuries?

The Vortixx let loose an uppercut aimed directly at his jaw.

Heh.

Your back's up against the ground. Not a lot of power behind that.

The punch connected, clipped his jaw and brought Raaka's head upwards and back - so the next punch missed.

I'll feel that later, but that's enough of that.

Raaka shifted himself over to pin the Vortixx to the ground.

Left knee pinning right arm at the elbow.

Right knee pinning torso - that'll hurt.

Right arm - removed Scythe from scabbard, holding against legs.

Left arm - pinning against neck, angled cannon to point at the side of his head.

That'll hold him.

Now...

The Skakdi of Sonics twisted his head towards the battle behind him and mustered enough energy to project his voice across the fields of snow and ice surrounding them.

"CEASE, OR THE VORTIXX DIES."

OOC: Sorry, Krayzikk. This is my first fight in the BZPRPG.  :D And yes, Mortem is free.

IC: Haarnak (Ko-Koro Hospital)

Krayzikk didn't know that Haarnak's arrows- which were in his quiver, on his back- were tipped with Stralix powder.

All seventeen of them exploded at once when the energy blast hit him.

The resulting shockwave sent Haarnak flying, and he smacked into the side of a building with a sickening crunch, although in the split-second before impact he managed to turn so as to not smash his Kadin.

He slumped down the wall, out cold and with blood trickling from his broken body in thousands of places, but he was just- and only just- alive.

OOC: Okay, Krayzikk is way too OP with a Kualsi and Mortem's stuff.  :lol-sign:

IC: Dayeth.

Once again, Dayeth was watching everything fall apart around her. She ripped her Volo Lutu grappling hook out of Verulas' shoulder in a spray of blood, jumping away from the flames and the ice and the crystal growing up out of the ground and stopping a few bio away, calmly putting away her weapons.

"Stop and look at this from a practical perspective," she said, surprisingly calmly. "Your city is fallen. Your hospital is being evacuated. You can't keep us here, or take us with you. More of us will come, and you will be forced to retreat, or you will fall. You can beat me or Mortem down again, but it won't matter. In the end we'll still be freed, unless you intend to kill us, which I rather doubt. If you let us go now, we won't come back here. Verulas can keep my money, the jolly giant can keep Mortem's stuff, and we can all keep our lives. Oh, and you let us take the wounded fire Toa with us as well."

She waited to see how they would respond to her demand. These defenders were stubborn, but surely they saw the futility of their situation. They couldn't win here, not in the long run, and, Dayeth was forced to admit, she couldn't win here either.

Not alone.

OOC: What a coincidence, Miras. This was my first fight too.

Verulas coughed painfully as he rolled on top of the snowbank, his body sore from the electricity and stiff from the ice. He wasn't going to be jumping into the fray again; the way he landed, stacked with the other injuries he had received, made sure of that. All he could do was watch as the battle raged on.

An energy blast from seemingly out of nowhere ignited his former target's arrow supply (the Bo-Toa really needed more ranged weaponry), taking him out of the fight. He assumed that came from the Titan, as his mask, combined with the Vortixx's equipment, was the only logical explanation for the sudden attack. It was a smart play. Kudos for him.

The Skakdi had taken the Vortixx hostage in order to stop the fighting. Interesting, but it would only pan out if the Ta-Matoran actually gave two Karz about him. Which he doubted.

He would've laughed at the sight of said Ta-Matoran trying to reason her way out if his chest wasn't in excruciating agony.

IC: The Toa Shaydas.

Chavara saw the skakdi, and the skakdi saw her, and she reactivated her mask just in time to block his impact vision attack. And now she could see exactly where he was. Opening her mouth into a wide open smile, Chavara spewed blazing flames right at the skakdi.

Panyk, now limping, saw the two Vortixx coming at him. He ducked as the skakdi's second laser vision blast shot past him and reflected off the ice to fly towards Xxeth. The two parakuka-assisted Vortixx swung out at him, and he used his mask to teleport past and behind them. Turning, he focused his gravity powers on the parakuka, and pulled

Onic saw the ice skakdi dodge Xxeth's arrow and smiled to himself, using his power to rip up the ground in front of the retreating skakdi, showering him with dirt and rock. He advanced, cracking his knuckles. Time to finish this.

IC: Xxeth

"Ah ######..." Xxeth knew what was coming, and had moved his cloak to cover himself as he dived onto the icy ground, the laser blast managed to hit his cloak, burning a nasty hole in it, the disks however flew right over him.

Seeing the Skakdi of ice was now occupied with someone else, he turned his attention toward the three matoran. The little pests... He outstretched his hand and formed a quick mini-cyclone to occupy the matoran as he stood up, reloading his crossbow.

IC: The two parakuka-bound Vortixx were pulled through the air, but, thanks to the enhanced abilities granted to them by the slugs, both were able to turn gracefully in mid-air and extend their staffs before them. Since their reach was much greater than his, they would impale him when they reached their destination.

The sonic Skakdi turned and ran as Chavara's flames pursued him. His attempt to trap the toa before she could regain the focus to summon her hau-shield had failed, and having put so much effort into his attack, he was now left almost defenceless. The heat scorched his back and spine as he ran, but as he got further from the Shaydas leader, he was able to outrun them. Reaching the endge of the courtyard, he pressed his back up against the icy wall, sighing heavily as relief seeped into the damaged tissue. He was joined in a few moments by the Skakdi of gravity, who had returned from the floor below. As the two neared each other, their elemental powers returned, and the gravity Skakdi put his to good use. He reversed gravity around Chavara, causing her to "fall" upwards into the air at an alarming rate.

The ice Skakdi tottered on his feet as the earth underneath him shifted, but as the first few chunks of earth breached the floor, he was able to regain control, and sent his elemental power out into the small area of floor around himself, galvanising the layer of snow there into hard ice, and keeping it strong so that he could have a place to stand amid the chaos. Safe for the moment, he shot back another blast of laser vision. He was aided by the Toa of stone, who was now free of the whirlwind of snow that Xxeth had summoned. He spread his hands wide, and between them appeared a boulder almost as wide across as he was tall. With a grunt of effort, he shot it at Onic.

Xxeth's mini-cyclone stirred up more snow from the ground, whirling it around the three Matoran guards. Still, if there was one thing the Ko-Matoran could deal with, it was a bit of snow. Conditions in Ko-Wahi could often get worse. They scattered in three directions, trying to escape, and while two were successful, one lost his footing and remained trapped by the winds. The other two grabbed another disk each and threw them at Xxeth.

The Toa of lightning backed Kitano up against the wall, her blade poised to strike as soon as he made a move. Unwilling to engage her directly, Kitano used his mask to teleport again, appearing back where he had started. The Toa whirled back to face him and ran at him again, only to meet with the same frustration. Their game of muaka-and-kuma continued on with Kitano escaping each time, just as the guard was about to hit him. The cycle repeated thrice more before he finally broke it, teleporting to a different spot and grabbing a makika ball from his backpack. He dispelled the protective coating and shot it forwards at the lightning Toa.

Outside the prison building, Karemo noticed a change in the debris being thrown up by his tunnelling. Instead of ice and earth, his blasts were now fragmenting metal. He had reached the underground walls of the prison, and on the other side would be the prisoners' cells. Dropping out of the air, he landed carefully amid the rubble of the impromptu tunnel he had made, and started absorbing a large hole in the metal. It was thick, but it was also the last layer that stood between him and his goal.

Thick metal bands come out of the floor, twining around Rorg and binding him in place.  His weapons warp, becoming unrecognizable in seconds.  The same happens to the others with him.  Jalkron smiles to himself as they struggle to free themselves.  It is never wise to try and sneak up on someone wearing an Arthron, he thinks to himself.

OOC: Not sure if anyone else has said anything, but just want to point out that a character's weapons and equipment are considered an extension of the character in question, and cannot be broken/changed, etc. without the permission of the controlling player. I'm also a little uneasy about Jalkron being able to bind three people at once, but I'll leave a call on that to a more senior player.  :)

IC:

"Evidently not," Nika said to this Jalkron. "Now, if you want us to survive the next few minutes, you'll do well to listen to me."

He moved to the edge of the crude shelter, risking a brief glance at the opposition. He couldn't get a good look at the scene, but it was clear that of Echelon's group, the Skakdi, the cloaked Toa, and the brute had remained, the rest apparently having moved on with their objective. The chances that the objective was the acquisition of Korzaa and the termination of Pae and Jin were high. In another life, Nika would have fallen back and tried to find a more well-placed path to his destination.

Not today. He didn't have time today.

He looked back at his three new companions, his voice lowering to barely a whisper. "Priority is to get past this guard and to Captain Korzaa. One Skakdi, appears to specialize in long range attacks. One Toa, possibly Iron or Magnetism, unknown Kanohi. One unknown species, massive, heavily armed. I might be able to distract them for a moment or two, but I'll need you, Jalkron, to keep them busy long enough for us to get past. Can you do that?"

OOC: My bad, then Jalkron just yanked them away.

IC: Jalkron nods, whispering, "Consider it done.  On three I'm gonna absorb this shelter and create blocks of iron above them.  That's when you run.  One...Two...Three!"  The shelter disappears and metal blocks appear above Echelon and his allies.  Immediately after Jalkron creates fist-fulls of metal darts, which he hurls at the group.

OOC: Emissary is right, Vestak. The metal bonds would be autohitting as well, and it's traditionally expected to let the opposition respond before posting again.  ;) That in mind, several parts of this post occur prior to your last one, as otherwise, that would be a period of time in which there was no response.

IC:

Eisen didn't acknowledge Karnakie's words, with the exception of a faint, almost imperceptible nod. The lack of response was, in large part, due to his focus on the task at hand; there was no need for chatter when there was a goal to accomplish. Jalkron didn't yet realize it, but his attempts to pull Rorg's weapons away were countered by his own element, allowing them to stay in place.

A counter that once again reared its head when Jalkron attempted to act. Even as he manifested his element, a moment later, Eisen reversed the effect; the metal blocks were reabsorbed, just in time for his element to stop the thrown spikes. Eisen's opponent needed time to work his own effects; enough time for him to counter with distinct ease. The simple fact was that he could not win a battle with his element; Jalkron's foe was skilled enough to counter anything he might attempt to do, negating it with the simplest application of his own powers.

The dark Toa didn't bother with banter, or with a witty remark; he merely activated his Crast, targeting Jalkron, to send him hurtling at painful speeds to the wall behind him.

OOC: Sorry, I didn't know that.

IC: Jalkron gasps as the breath is driven from his lungs.  He struggles to his feet, leaning heavily on his staff and glaring at Eisen.  When he gets his breath back, he says, "Another toa of iron.  I'd say it's nice to meet another one like me, but it isn't."  Thick metal poles appear right behind him, then bend downwards, less than a second from crashing into the top of Eisen's head as Jalkron's staff morphs into a large war hammer.

IC: Yeah, because they were just going to let them leave after she had tried to kill him and Kellin, and the Vortixx had tried to level the entire hospital. Oh, what? They don't want to fight anymore? Okay. We'll just let them waltz right back into the city so they can show up again in another thirty minutes with the rest of their friends and royally school us...

That made perfect sense.

Sarcasm aside, he didn't see it happening.

Good guys generally loved feeding into their supposed "moral superiority" complex, thinking that they were the next best thing to the Great Spirit because they never broke a rule in their lives, while usually treating everyone else like dirt. Whatever. He was used to that. But surely they weren't gullible enough to just let them go...

Right?

IC: Arabeth

Arabeth cursed as she grabbed Ishi away from the breadsticks.

"Ishi, cut the ######. What happened to your fingers?" She stared down Ishi. Her stare met Ishi's hungry and angry look.

After a few secinds, she let him go. He gave Arabeth a curious look.

"If you don't want to talk about it, fine. If you must know, I was there at the Citadel, and just escaped," Arabeth said as she observed Ishi turn back and start to ravenously devour the leftovers.

"I guess I'm in. I've always wanted to break into a rich man's home."

IC: 'Ahkmou'

"Sounds like an average day in the life," Ishi commented about his companion's near death venture.  "There's not a moment the past few weeks I haven't been dangling by a thread...  I'm no tightrope walker, but if the wind up high is anything like the buffering of action and consequence down here in mortality land I'm sure I'd be ace.  Ambages, hrm," Ishi paused for both thought and to swallow the end of the bread sticks.  Having something to eat brought a clearer sense of focus to his thinking, where before it had been smart at best things were once again escalating toward genius.  "He's a pretty widget and thinks fast I'll give him that, but I doubt his house would be any more guarded than what the right hand of an assassinated island leader would have under normal circumstances of heightened tension during intermediary ruling of his own.

"That is to say we're probably going into a place armed to the teeth with roaches.  Feel up for a little pest control?"  Ishi had a wry smile.  "With luck the largest portion will be off putting out... well... not fires probably but stamping out something like their punitive lives if they encounter any of the attackers in the streets.  Ambages will play it smart and evacuate, I doubt a man who believes his life is worth something would stick around during all of," he gestured vaguely toward the window, "this."

Ishi paused the spinning of the potter's wheel with a well placed toe.  The cyclical motion had created a soft buzz and the sudden silence pleased him.  He clearly heard the destruction outside moving closer with every cold breath exiting his lungs as hot vapor.  Ishi Polzin was working without clear blueprint, lacking the subtlety of a more skilled wet-worker, delving into the danger with insufficient geographical information and opposition of unknown number.  The matoran of stone couldn't help but love the idea.  It was his way, after all.  The thought of Dervish tearing through a small platoon of guards brought a feverish glee, and then the true reason surfaced in his mind, like a fish in a pond begging to be fed with each approaching looker: the komau.

Ahkmou's journal spoke once of Ambages.  Once, and only once.  Ishi remembered the encrypted words, their true meaning burned into his mind as if with a hot brand;

The atheist came tonight, not surprising given Onewa’s now sealed in stone. We are different sides of the same coin, and he is an enemy I would keep the closest. His name is strange, but it seems to fit his modus operandi. I can’t help wondering if it was really given at birth or taken by some indirect means of deception. Although I may regret my decision, I gave it to him. The Po-Koro guard will be sure to check my hut before any other, and I can’t have it compromising my situation with Him. I’m sure he’ll find a way to ambage the rise of Makuta. I’ll have to speak with him soon.*

It hadn't taken much work or outside delving, although the trip to the archives of the Mata-Nui Daily was the linchpin of Ishi's deduction.  The final question was where Ambages kept such a precious object.  Something so valuable would naturally be kept close, where it could be monitored and be readily at hand should the need arise.  What purposes Ambages might devise with its use made a shudder run up the Informant's spine; of pleasure or fear he couldn't say.  If the komau was close to hand, it must be safe, and what was a safer place than the very place searched by the Island Liberation Front and found to be without evil?  Yes, Ishi had realized during his travels and escape from Ryiu Polzin and a meeting with his sister, the komau was located in Ambages' mansion.  Of course, it was a mansion, and any portrait or loose stone could hide a secret safe.  With luck, it'd be in the places Ambages most frequented: bedroom, hallway, solar, office, privy.

The soft boom of snow in great quantity falling brought Ishi from his thoughts.  One of the houses near the opening of the muse was beginning to sag, parts of its roof caving inward.  "I think...  I think it's time we move.  From here we need to take the bridge to the left, cross the chasm to the inner koro.  I take it the main bridge is destroyed?"  He pulled away from the window, letting his eyes gaze across the toa's face.  She was pretty, but hidden away behind the armor.  A double protection, then.  Ishi couldn't help but wonder if someday he could exploit more than just her talents in combat.  Subterfuge and intelligence weren't her specialties, but with a little training...

Yes, with a little training she'd do quite nicely.

IC: Raaka

The Skakdi looked around, more clearly now. The fighting had stopped. The Ta-Toa was bleeding, passed out cold and slumped against a building. The Ta-Matoran was trying to barter her way out of the situation.

He'd seen this before. Fallen for it before.

Paid for it before.

Well. He still had a hostage.

Carefully, Raaka got up off the wounded Vortixx, still pointing the cannon squarely at the being's head.

Thing was, she was right - they were too dangerous to keep around - this was proof of that.

But letting them go was a worse idea.

The recent fighting? That was nothing. Physical banter.

The real battle was just starting.

IC: Dayeth.

Kellin did have a fair point. It was kind of difficult for them to trust her when she'd already tried to kill them once before. But seriously, were these guys stupid or what? They were retreating, their city lost! They didn't have the time or resources to take prisoners. If they stuck around, they would be killed when the rest of Legacy showed up, following the tide of refugees who were no doubt heading this way. There was simply no way they could win this. Sure, they could imprison Dayeth again, and leave Mortem and Haarnak to possibly die, but as soon as the rest of Makuta's faithful arrived, they would be freed again anyway.

"How exactly am I going to attack you with two wounded to look after?" she challenged. "You let Mortem up, and we'll leave. The fire Toa comes with us. That's it. No tricks. Your other option is to lock us all up again, in which case we'll be freed when the rest of our forces arrive. And they will arrive. Letting us go won't change that."

The one time in her life she decided to be honest, and no one believed her. She probably deserved that.

IC: The Toa Shaydas.

Panyk saw the Vortixx turn towards him in midair, and scowled to himself. He hadn't expected them to react so quickly. He used his Kualsi to jump forward, almost running head first into the wall. He recovered, turning around and, with a sadistic smile, increased gravity around the pair tenfold, intending to crush them into the ground.

Chavara felt gravity reverse around her, and with a curse, she began to fall - upwards. There was no way she could stop it from happening, so she did the only thing she could: take advantage of the change of circumstances. Twisting around and pointing her sword down, she sent a blast of scorching heat down towards the sound and gravity skakdi, flinging a fireball from her other hand at the matoran guard still trapped in the icy windstorm.

Onic threw up a shield of earth to block the laser vision, then dived out of the way of the massive boulder. It clipped his side, spinning him, and he fell to the ground with a grunt of pain. But he wasn't going down that easily. He punched the ground, channeling his power into it, causing a whole to open up in the earth underneath him, which he promptly fell through, landing somewhere in the prisons below.

IC: "Or, our... teleporting friend here could... take you two away from the city, preferably somewhere... remote, after your unconditional... surrender," Verulas said through gritted teeth as he tried to stand, his hand clutching his side as he moved to retrieve his sword and sheathed the weapon back to his belt. "That way... we don't have to deal with you anymore, you two can't get your buddies to attack us early, and we can go our separate ways without killing each other if you do manage to escape again. That's the only offer I'd be comfortable giving you."

He glanced over at the Ta-Toa, who was unconcious and bleeding in a snow drift.

"As for him... he's staying here. I'm not done with him yet."

Then he turned to the Crystal-Toa and broke out the sarcasm.

"What? Being evil isn't a good enough reason anymore? There's a headless Matoran downstairs in the morgue who might disagree with that logic."

IC: Razsk

Razsk approaches Ko-Koro, his breath misting in the frigid air.  "Why couldn't they have attacked somewhere warmer, like Ta-koro or anywhere else on this island?" he mutters to himself as he climbs.  By now he can hear the sound of battle clashing in the distance, and the Koro comes into view.  Spotting the gaping hole where the gates used to be, he picks up his pace, grabbing his hammers as he does so.

OOC: Razsk open for interaction.

OOC: Not sure about the logic of your plan there, timeageness. Unless rules are different in the RPG, the Kualsi can't be used to transport other beings, only objects. And the wearer can only travel within their own line of sight at any given time, so it would take quite a few jumps to drag the three of us to somewhere remote, which I imagine would be quite exhausting for the mask wearer. If I'm wrong about any of this, someone feel free to correct me.

IC: Dayeth.

"Why?" Dayeth mused in answer to the Cy-Toa's question. "I actually have no idea. I got here after the attack had already begun. Does the reason matter, though? You worshipers of Mata Nui persecuted us for our beliefs, banished our god Makuta, and wage war on us every passing day. Is it unjust for us to to strike back for what we believe in?"

She turned to the mercenary. "As for you, you're in no position to be making demands. I'm still standing, and you aren't. This Toa tried to help me, and now I'm returning the favour in attempting to negotiate for his life. If you're going to stand between me and that goal, then perhaps you're more evil than I am?"

Penultimately, she turned her attention to the Brontes and Raaka, whose banter was both perplexing and amusing. "shooting us in the knees is both cruel and incredibly stupid when you consider the fact that this one can just tie us up in wood" she pointed out to Raaka, while nodding towards Verulas. "And... she turned to Brontes, "you're just plain confusing. You're absolutely fine with killing us, but think crippling us is bad. You should just shut up, I think."

Shed saved the best for last. "As for you, Kellin, I like the way you think. Get what you give, kill them all, hoist them up a flagpole... you know who you remind me of? Me." she smiled triumphantly, "So, I guess, in the end, Makuta won after all. There is no virtue left in any of you who claim to stand for Mata Nui. You're no better than the rest of us."

Mortem finally spoke up, proclaiming that he would be happy to die so long as Makuta's will was done. Dayeth smiled. He was loyal. Sh didn't say anything to him, though. If he could walk, and the defenders let him go, then he might stand a chance. But there was nothing else Dayeth herself could do.

"Now, if you're all done debating," she concluded, "I'm going to start walking away now. If you want to stop me, go ahead. If not... I daresay we'll meet again."

OOC: Sorry for the long post, but I felt obliged to respond to everyone who had spoken.

IC: Kimala

The stitches were finished. Against further urging, she stood up. "There is a misconception running rampant through the island," she grunted. "That Mata Nui is good and Makuta evil... But this is not the case. Mata Nui is creation, life and light. Makuta is destruction, death and darkness." She took a step toward the Ta-Matoran and waved her hand, conjuring a thin ring of crystals around her wrist, each floating around half an inch away. "Contrary to what you seem to believe, Makuta began this conflict, Mata Nui only fought back. But I believe the forces of Makuta can end this. And that is why I am going with you." It was not a question, it was a statement.

IC: Whatever reaction she expected, he was pretty sure it wasn't laughter.

Which you know, was too bad for her, because the scarf-clad miner was about a step away from doubling over. What kind of logical leaps do you go through to get "kill them all" out of "wedgie them", anyway?

"Whatever you say, sister." he said at length, wiping a tear away from a yellow eye. "Crazy ."

"BRRRT!"

Two quick, sharp claps.

-----------------------------------------------------

IC: That's my cue.

Having safely dropped the Toa of Fire off to where he could be treated, I rounded the corner, cutting oh hey look who it is off before she started, and then the Toa of Crystals piped up an--what

Kellin, did you put something in the water again?

IC: (Mortem)

The vortixx was angered by the loss of his tech and appeared almost sulky as he stalked away slowly, his side burning and throbbing with pain.

When he heard the toa of crystal he shouted:

"What do you want Toa? We shall not accept your offers of a truce, if that is what you are thinking."

IC:

"I think you forget something, Matoran."

A deep voice rumbled, as if the mountains themselves chose to speak. Looming over Dayeth, only a few of her steps away, was the Titan that had disappeared. Blue eyes blazed behind his Kanohi Kualsi, Mortem's staff held in his right hand, the morning star he had used to strike down Mortem held in his left. A faint covering of ice and snow shifted and cracked when moved to look down at her, looking for all the world like a spirit that had stepped out of the gloom. "War was not waged on you. War was waged for survival. The followers of your God were not persecuted, they were defended against. You pick and choose your words, twisted and poisoned, to portray exactly what you want to portray."

"You ignore the Rahkshi, sent against the people of Mata Nui. You ignore the slaughter, the torture, the death, and the destruction. You ignore that in times long past. it was Makuta who first struck down his brother. You are not the victim here, you two-faced, serpent of a . You came to a place of peace, a place of healing, seeking to pervert its grounds for death. All in the service of your god."

"Ko-Koro burns." The massive entity didn't bother gesturing behind him; his point was served for him, the billowing smoke and the screams and shouts barely audible on the passing wind. "How many do you think have died there? Half a dozen? A dozen? More? Before the night is out, the streets of the Village of Ice will run red with the blood of those whose only crime was to exist."

"Your gambit, your way out, relies on playing to our morality. Our good-nature. Perhaps the Toa Code." Deliberately, the tip of what was once Mortem's staff moved to point at the Ta-Matoran's head. All it would take was a single pull of the trigger, and one more Follower would join her god in the void. "You have not earned mercy, you have spurned it. You have forgotten that all we have done, we did because you and your deity chose to push us too far. As you have chosen to do again."

"What is the saying you Ta-Matoran are fond of? Fight fire with fire? Tell me, little Matoran, why shouldn't I kill you?"

OOC: Sorry for another long post; had to respond to three different posts here.

IC: Dayeth.

Dayeth turned back and stared at Kimala. "You want to come with us?" she was momentarily astounded. But then Mortem went and ruined the moment with his sulky refusal. "I am fully willing to accept you," Dayeth said to Kimala, "not merely in a truce, but as a friend." Sure, the healer hadn't rushed to Dayeth's defense or anything, but she had openly denounced Mata Nui in front of every present. That took a whole lot of courage, and Dayeth could sure a karz respect that. Any friend of Makuta was a friend of hers. But if Mortem was going to go on being stupid, she may be forced to leave him behind...

Then came the Titan's words, his threats, his stolen staff pointed at her head. Dayeth was surprisingly calm in the face of imminent death. She believed that she was doing the right thing here. Her belief in Makuta would save her, if nothing else would. "Ah, the ever faithful," she crooned, "so swift to rush to the aid of the one who condemned us to darkness. Yes, you perceive Makuta to be evil.Of course you do. It's all you know. Well all I have known is Makuta. He protected me when your Toa, and your code, could not!" she took a deep, shaky breath. Time to tell her own story.

"Do you know what it's like ,watching your own city burn and sink below the waves on the ocean? To know that the only place where those loyal to Makuta could live freely has just been destroyed? To be forced to hide who you are and what you believe in? To live in constant fear for your life? Makuta is as much a god as Mata Nui is! Stronger perhaps, since he defeated his own brother. They are equals, at the very least. Should not their followers have that same privilege? To live as equals? Yet you have numerous villages to live in, and we have none! I cannot speak for Legacy, but I came here in the hopes of finding a home, among others who believe as I do. Why should I have to hide who I am? Because your sleeping god says so? I think not."

She stared right at the titan, ignoring the staff pointed right at her face. "Now step aside."
