IC: Drome

It seemed like Kadon had some sort of plan in mind, so for the moment I was going to just have to go along with it. I tumbled aside with the sudden shift of kadon's mass pulling me aside. I couldn't tell what was going on, let alone figure out what was going on around me. Now I was getting filled with the rage of a blind Nui-Rama. And while it couldn't see, it was still really, really angry.

Then came the orders again, but this time it didn't seem like it would be all that bad. I'd get to break his arm, and get my sight back at the same time. It was a win win situation. But, if I broke his arm, them he could only carry one of his little hook things, and he was used to fighting with two. And this iron guy had already mentioned some Sarsi, which meant that fighting with an off-his-game sidekick really wouldn't be good.

"Better idea. I do this." I found when the metal stuck to his hand, wedging my own into any creases left open by the shape, and tore the plate from my face. His hand might feel a little crushed, but it was better than losing an arm. Probably. You never really could tell with Kadon. But I knew he was going to complain about it anyway.

But at least I could get rid of the extra weight. Now it would be a real fight.

IC: Theriss

It had been quite a while since the last nice she had been to, and even longer since it had been with someone else that wasn't part of her loan business. And after the chaos of the past few days, it had been a pleasant diversion. She had also gotten the chance to learn quite a lot about another member of the team she was going to be leading into heroism.

The distance from her home really wasn't that far, and she was more than capable of dealing with any problems that may arise. Plus, there were a few people she had to speak to before the night was up. She had a few loans that weren't quite paying, and needed a little reminder. But all the same, her saying no would probably sting quite badly for LoJak...

"Certainly."

The wind was knocked out of me when Drome landed on me, and my arm was in an extremely painful position, but I didn't think anything was broken... yet. I grimaced, prepared for some serious pain.

However, I found myself pleasantly surprised. Drome, for once, showed a glimmer of intelligence and found a way to remove the metal without breaking any bones. It still hurt, but it was better than the alternative. "I don't suppose you grabbed my sickles," I groaned.

IC: Geklan

Geklan stood outside in the fresh air, breathing deeply. It was nice to escape from the paperwork, from the confines of his home. Sure, he was just standing in the street, but it was better than nothing.

He'd chosen to wear his Kanohi Huna on his walk. He wanted to get away for a bit, and being a little uncomfortable was worth escaping the attentions of anyone he might happen to run into. Slowly, he made his way to a portion of the street that had a decent view of the ocean and stared at it, thinking.

Sales for the merchandise were beginning to level off. Not necessarily a bad thing, but before long he'd need something new, something fresh. The Lesterin sighed as he cycled through ideas. Maybe he'd have to visit Theriss tomorrow... he needed something, anything that could sell. That Team Theriss and Team Barthel idea still had some merit to it...

IC: Barthel Deliresi

They had managed to dodge my attacks, and were in the process of removing what stuck them together. I quickly used my power to return my chakram to me, only to see that they had become separated. My advantage had just disappeared. I threw all four chakram into the air in front of me, making them hover there. I needed to keep some distance, or else those psychopathic pursuers would kill me. My next move was clear. Bluff.

"Do you two goons truly believe you can best the great Deliresi? If you care for your lives, you had best leave now." My bluff would most likely have gone better if I hadn't been screaming for help just a short while ago. But who knows, they could be just stupid enough to fall for it.

LoJak escorted the leader of the Sarsi to the restaurant's door and the pair began walking the streets of Ga-Koro. Theriss was right, it had gotten quite late. There was no one else on the streets and most of of the buildings had extinguished all their candles and covered their lightstones. LoJak and Theriss walked in darkness, a half moon and the stars shining a faint light onto the two Toa. The gentle lapping of waves onto the village's structures was the only sound they heard, the recurring swoosh of the water easing those few awake into a deep sleep. It was a peaceful.

Here's hoping this can last, thought LoJak.

Finally, they neared the destination and the two Toa stood outside Theriss' house.

"Look there" LoJak said, pointing at the sky above the other side of the street. He tapped into his elemental energies, channeling them into a dozen burning embers far away. He fueled them with a sudden surge of power and then they burst, flying into the sky and exploding into millions of sparks of varying colours.

"Fireworks. Now, that is how you end a date" LoJak said quietly. He turned back to face Theriss. "Thank you for indulging me and allowing me to walk you home, and for joining me for dinner. Have a good night, and I'll see you in the morning." With that, LoJak began walking back to his apartment for a few precious hours of sleep.

"Well dang Vail... I am surprised you actually got the little guy. Thanks."

Vail snatched his glass as it slid to him across the counter.

"Anytime." he said, a genuine smile tugging at his lips. It was a nice smile, one that he only showed on special occasions. "You should've seen the other Ussals. They put up quite the fight."

He shivered visibly as he remembered Mama Ussal's soul-ripping screech.

"But he's in much better hands now. Do you know what you're going to name him?"

Vail nodded in understanding.

"So have you heard any word from the others? I haven't seen anyone except you for the past two days. I wonder what everyone's been up to." The Ta-Toa's fingers tapped at his glass rhythmically. "You think Theriss will announce a new mission?"

IC: Crasaro

"Well, it wouldn't be that bad getting the other Tarakava, but I have a feeling that by now other rahi have eaten it up. A shame, really, since that was the one I killed that is in the woods..." Crasaro sighed. His bride stung slightly, only because he felt he had worked so hard to kill that Tarakava...but it didn't matter.

"We could go see if the thing is even there still."

IC: Kahlynn

The door of the Great Takea swung open, sunlight peering in through the gap over the shoulder of the being swaggering in through the door. All those at the bar could see was a silhouette until the door shut, revealing a poncho-clad Skakdi with a cigarette between his lips and a fiendish smirk across his face. His strides were deliberate and slow, his face angled so that it was shrouded in shadow, only the pulsing orange glow of the cigarette managing to cast any light upon it. His clawed feet scraped along with his thudding footsteps, slowing moving forth towards a stool at the bar.

The light of a candle light up Kahlynn's face as he took a seat and looked up at the Skakdi behind the bar. Taking the cigarette from his mouth, he took in and unleashed a puff of smoke which dissipated amongst the foggy light of the inn. Baring his teeth in a familiar grin, he nodded his respect to the barman and took his order: "Vodka Martini," he croaked. "Shaken, not stirred."

Before the barman could turn away, Kahlynn went on. "Oh, and tell Rhow I'm home."

Vail chuckled lightly.

"Of course," he said, still grinning. "The place to find a Sarsi is at the bar, drowning their sorrows in the good stuff."

He raised his cup as if toasting himself, then downed it in a single swig. The empty glass slapped loudly back down on the counter as he finished.

"It is rather odd that no one's here already though. You'd at least expect to find Barthel or Crasaro moping around." He turned his head about to double check his accuracy. "Hopefully they haven't gotten themselves into too much trouble."

IC: Liano

"I don't know..." Liano said, masking his tone with doubt in an effort to conceal the fact that he simply didn't want to go. Other Rahi had probably gotten around to eating it already, and he wasn't prepared to potentially waste any more time and effort for another hefty sum of cash, which honestly didn't feel necessary considering how much they'd just earned.

That's when an idea struck him. Or rather, an excuse.

"Why don't you go back to the inn and buy yourself a few well-deserved drinks? I'd join you, but first I'm going to get myself healed at the hospital before the swelling gets any worse."

IC: Crasaro

"Hah, after the last time I had a few 'celebration drinks', I don't think I want any more." Crasaro chuckled. "It would be a good idea to get that checked out. I'll go see if the Tarakava's still out there, and bring it back."

With that, Crasaro went out, back to the woods where he killed the Tarakava.

It didn't take long to find the body, as it had started to smell. Crasaro found the body soon after entering the clearing, and nearly puked when he saw it. Flies buzzed around the carcass, and it was very clear other rahi had found it. Large chunks of the great lizard's body were missing, and it was not a very good sight to begin with. Crasaro sighed. His work had been for nothing.

Vail wasn't sure whether or not Voulge was joking or not. Sure, Barthel could be annoying and was quite the oddball, but Vail couldn't help but pity him.

"Oh, give him a chance. I know he can be very.... different at times, but I feel like the rest of the team doesn't give him enough credit. I wonder what caused him to be the way he is. He must've gone through a lot to cause him such mental instability."

"I see what you mean..." Vail couldn't seem to keep his hands from fidgeting, so he resolved with tracing his fingers along the grooves of his glass. "However, I think he'll change eventually. After all the shame I'm sure he's gone through, there will come a day when he can't take it any longer. He'll fight back."

Vail placed his chin in the palm that was unoccupied.

"I wish everyone else would open up more. Even now that we're all a team, there's still significant distance between us... Come to think of it, you're the only one I've actually held a significant conversation with."

The tavern's crowd ranged from Skakdi to Matoran, and Vail observed some of the activity that was happening on the other side of the room. A muscular Lesterin was laughing heartily while conversing with a Toa of Plasma.

"We need something to bring us all together. Otherwise we'll just fall apart." His brow furrowed in determination. "You know, I'm going to try and continue doing favors, for you as well as the others. That way I'll get to know everyone better."

"Well, all I could get outta the Abettor was something about star charts. You wouldn't happen to have any, would you?"

"Actually, I do," Gravus says. "Copied down in my journal." He turns around to walk back to the Inika.

"We need to set sail soon," he calls over his shoulder. "I'll be belowdecks, come get me when it's time."

IC: Liano

Just as Crasaro went his separate way, it was time for Liano to do the same.

The walk to the clinic was short, and the wait even shorter. Only a couple of injured shared the lobby with him, though in a matter of minutes, they were gone and he was left alone to wait his turn. Eventually, they called out his name and he was led to a smaller room where again, he was to wait by himself. Silence stretched itself out almost indefinitely as he stood there, eyes discerning every detail the room had to offer until there was nothing else to see, which then incited him to start counting down every second that passed.

Approximately two minutes and twenty three seconds in, footsteps echoed down the hallway and once they reached his room, the door swung open to reveal a female Toa clad in green and white. An easy smile played on her lips, giving off a look of genuine warmth, something which suited her profession just fine. She was pretty, to say in the least.

By the end of the session, Liano walked out good as new, courtesy of a mask of healing, and the best part was, she had asked him out to a coffee date, to which he gladly obliged. Truthfully, he doubted whether working with the Sarsi would leave enough time on his hands for any romantic pursuits, but it was worth the shot in his opinion.

All in all, it was a good day indeed. A successful hunting trip, some bonding time with Crasaro, a hefty sum of widgets and a date? Why, the only thing missing was a good night’s rest, though that would have to wait, much to his disappointment. A sharp cry for help rang in the distance, its voice distinctly familiar, inciting Liano to head towards it. A moment later, he found Barthel (of course it was Barthel) facing off against a pair of thugs.

"Do you two goons truly believe you can best the great Deliresi? If you care for your lives, you had best leave now."

The great Deliresi? Liano hoped he was bluffing; Barthel was already eccentric already, the last thing he needed was delusion.

“Hey, settle down, all of you!” the hunter ordered, his voice firm yet not unkind. He flashed Barthel a look, before he stepped up to address the other two.

“Go home. We don’t want any trouble.” Again, another look at his colleague. "Right, Deliresi?"

IC Jarkale and Lai Lai

(Ga-Koro, The Inika):

Jarkale grinned and looked at Ignitus and his crew hastily preparing to finally set sail. They were well-prepared, having loads of food and drinkable water stored underneath the deck and every type of supply one could imagine scattered around the ship. Although it had mostly been Jarkale's money that had got the ship to them, it was the enthusiasm of the team as a whole that made him glad and proud to be here. Here they were, about to embark on an adventure in order to uncover a great mystery. They had no guarantee they would find the answers they sought, but it would still be a great voyage at sea.

Jarkale was less enthusiastic about the sea part. He was a Po-Matoran, who naturally felt uncomfortable around water, for they could not swim. Jarkale was one of them, he couldn't thread water to save his life. But he was still confident that the ship would keep them all on top of the sea.

Lai Lai, on the other hand, felt really good around water and the sea. She couldn't believe her fortune. She would be the first member of the press to write about this voyage. If they found something useful, it would be all the better. She was sure the voyagers crew would achieve something great.

"Time to go", Jarkale said with a smile. Lai Lai nodded.

IC(Ignitus, Gravus):

"Then to sea."

Within an hour, everyone is on board the Inika, and we're pulling out of the docks. We stand on the deck, staring at the island we leave. For some of us, we're leaving our homeland; for others, our refuge from destruction. For all of us, we're sailing into the unknown, perhaps never to return.

Finally, I break the silence. "Gravus, which way?"

"Due west."

And so I steer the ship towards the sunset, into the future, into the unknown.

I don't know what we're sailing to. I don't know if we'll find what we're looking for. I don't know if we'll ever return.

But I do know one thing: Wherever we go, we are sailing towards our destiny.

And perhaps our fate.

"I suppose... But still, strength comes with numbers." Vail motioned for the bartender to pour him another drink. "If we don't find some way to work together as a team, the Sarsi are bound to fall apart."

Vail found entertainment in watching Voulge's new pal scuttle around on his head.

"But you're right, you and I are a team now, and not much can change that. Even if we're both drifters, I know I can vouch that I've got your back."

He shot his friend a half smile.

"I know I'm not the cleanest slate, but I can do a job right." he said, slouching back down to rest his chin in his palm once more.

IC: Zarok

It had been so, so long. It had taken far too long to get out onto the ocean. But they finally had done it.

They finally were headed out into the great blue yonder, headed out to solve the riddle of the Red Star. It was enough to make Zarok happy for the future.

He stood on the deck, and looked out, out behind him toward the receding landmass of Mata-Nui. Maybe they might find another place like it. Maybe they would simply circle the entire world. Zarok didn't know.

It was an adventure, and that was all he cared about.

IC Jarkale and Lai Lai

(Endless Ocean):

Jarkale watched the receding shores of Mata Nui solemnly, pondering about what had happened in the last few days. He had originally met Rerus in Po-Koro and ever since had been uncovering the mysteries of him and his teammates who had been showing up everywhere the duo went. They even claimed to have come from another island, someplace called Torren. This had filled Jarkale with suspicion at first, but finally setting out to sea was more than enough to suppress any negative emotions. After all, whatever the Red Star Voyagers found, whatever they did, it would be something no one else had ever done. And Jarkale would be there all along, recording this moment to the future generations to read with awe about.

Jarkale wasn't the only person recording the adventure. It was also the duty of Lai Lai, though for a very different purpose: spreading the news across the island as soon as they returned. While Jarkale wrote with archiving in mind, Lai Lai did so with a touch of artistic license, hoping to create the best news article ever read by Matoran eyes. She watched the crew around her celebrate their departure and smiled. She didn't know anyone on board well, but was certain she would get the chance.

The sea was welcoming them all into its embrace.

They had begun.

IC: Kadon

Apparently, Drome wasn't going to tell me whether or not he'd grabbed my sickles. Whatever. I could make do with my elemental powers. Another witty comment popped into my head as Angry (as I liked to call the green Toa) made a rather hollow-sounding threat (he'd just been screaming for help, after all), but just as I was about to say it, someone spoke up. “Hey, settle down, all of you! There was a pause as the newcomer shot a look at Angry, then added, “Go home. We don’t want any trouble. Right, Deliresi?"

I narrowed my eyes. Was this one of the people Angry had been trying to attract with his cries for help? The newcomer certainly seemed to know Angry. Either way, Newcomer seemed to be somewhat reasonable, unlike his apparent friend. Still, I scoffed at the idea of just 'going home.'

"Go home? Yeah, maybe that would have worked before this 'great Deliresi' started throwing whatever the Karz those disk things are at us and doing his best to bind me and my friend here together with metal bands. But now? Now we're way past just going home. So, if you'll stand aside," I said, grinning menacingly at Angry, "we have some business to finish."
