I knew that body was a bad sign.

The thought was the only personal commentary within Sinshi's head; the rest was action. When the call went out, the Menti instantly sprang into action, both of mind and body. Her first thought was of Hanako; the Herupa was below-deck, so there was no immediate threat to her. That left the young Umbraline free to take counter-offensive action; her ascent once more to the deck was swift and agile, her Calix enabling her to move through halls with ease despite the rapid traffic. Her feet beat a rapid rhythm against the floor below her, one that culminated as she practically lunged up the ladder and onto the upper deck.

She didn't stop moving as her eyes took in the scene, noting the details around her. She had been preceded by the Commodore, Arisaka, and the Datsue she had met at the party. A decent fighting force, under normal circumstances; judging by the tentacles rising from the water, this was not a normal situation. The creature was already beset by Arisaka's fists, but its location was not one that Sinshi could easily reach. The tentacles above water, however, she could. Her hand moved for her rapier, out of instinct, but she knew that was not the right choice. This creature threatened not only Lady Hanako, the woman she was charged with protecting, but the entire ship and her own life as well. The situation was drastic; drastic enough to warrant her very best.

Her hand moved away from the weapon at her waist, and like its twin, took a ready position in front of her body. A single smooth, deep breath stilled her mind, replacing rapid observation with quiet resolve. She had an enemy. She had a purpose. All else was irrelevant, and did not, should not, factor into her world. For the moment, all that mattered was the ship, the beast, and herself. The tinges of blue psychophysical energy wreathed her hands for a single moment, before flaring to life.

The Umbraline stood on the deck, a glowing hook sword in either hand. Her feet shifted, bringing her into a low, stable stance. Her eyes were fixed on the rising tentacles, waiting for one to make a move.

"Both." The Le-Toa answered, following close behind the Ba-Toa, the corner of her mouth quirked upwards slightly in amusement. "Jaron's name should never be invoked, and I'm a doctor."

IC: Soraya [The Chiisai Ryu]

It was so nice, really, having a chance to get out on the deck again.  Fifty-ish days of being cooped up in a submarine was a first for Soraya, even if she had been pleasantly surprised by how not-jerkish the majority of her crewmates had turned out to be.  But it felt good to be outside, to feel the sun beat down on her shoulders.  She'd come abovedecks later than she'd hoped - she'd drawn short straw and gotten stuck with helping out on the weekly engine checks - but at least she was out there.  It was even less crowded than she'd expected, though there was a trail of water leading from one of the guardrails to a hatch.  Something happen?

Well, whatever it was, nobody had yelled for her, so she was probably safe for the moment.  She stretched herself out and looked around the deck; not the biggest thing, but she could do a few small laps to warm up.  Then she'd start with sit-ups and go from there.

WHUM.

Airborne.  She couldn't recall any of her routine being airborne before-

The back of the deck met the back of her back much harder than it had any right to, and for a few seconds she could do nothing but lay there and gasp for air like a dying fish; she was vaguely aware of people streaming onto the deck around her.  Okay, she thought to herself as she started to push herself up on her hands- what in the name of - THAT METAPHOR WASN'T SUPPOSED TO BE LITERAL

"Battlestations!"

"Oh, you don't say!

The thing - that was the best her brain could classify it as, a thing that was way, way larger than things had any right to be sent another tentacle crawling up the side of the hull.  In the back of her mind, a voice started going oh eff oh eff oh eff on repeat, just to keep an appropriate background level of panic.  She grabbed at her coat and came up with a wrench instead of the sword that, she realized not for the first time, she had left back in Kentoku.  The voice kicked the volume up a notch, just to be on the safe side.

Think, Sor, think - there's got to be something you can do -

She looked down at the wrench in her hand, and the back-of-the-head voice temporarily switched away from screaming to point out that it would probably be really, really bad if this thing did enough damage to the engines.

She turned, leapt down into the hatch, and was sprinting down the hallway in seconds flat.

"Mechanic! I need a mechanic who doesn't suck at their job right now!"

IC: Wherya (Ga-Koro)

Ga-Koro; where the sun made eternal lovey-dovey eyes at its own reflection, and the people did that and more to each other, yours truly included. I hadn't been here in a while, but it'd hardly changed. Oh, sure, some new faces and buildings and whatnot, but the energy of the place remained the same, and as always it was a refreshing change from somewhere like Onu- and Po-Koro. I guess it's not like I dislike those places and what they bring to the table, but there's all its own about how you can lose yourself here. Sitting with your thoughts at a beach is a step up from doing the same in a desert, that much is certain; just add water and you're good.

I certainly didn't have to look far for creative stimulation, take for example the Skakdi and Toa I'd just walked by. It had to take some serious amounts of devil-may-care attitude to be that upfront about it. I scratched down some quick ideas I got in my notebook, maybe this would catch the interest of some eccentric collector of niche sculptures.

I guess you could call me an artist, I make some sculptures at least, and they put food on the table sometimes. It's not much to speak of, but it's a living, one of many I maintain.

First and foremost, though, I'm a seeker of fortune, ideally with a nice side dose of adventure along the way. I had actually come to Ga-Koro for that very reason, looking for something to fill the void after my last go at it blew up in my face.

If my trek down the docks didn't yield anything, I'd probably sweep by the market and relieve some of the bigger spenders of their money. Another living I maintain.

I was cut short, however, when I suddenly bumped into someone, having had my attention drawn away by pondering over my notes.

"Oh, my mistake" I said with a needlessly innocent voice. Pure reflex at this point from years of bumping into strangers and rifling their pockets, only this time it was actually a mistake, not to mention my words died in my mouth when I got a look at the guy I'd bumped into.

IC: Tyrus / The Ga-Koro Prisons

"Well, I doubt that the Marines would ever turn down a helping hand," Tyrus said, placing his hand on the Toa's shoulder and giving it a slight shake. He didn't smile, but his expression had certainly softened from his time with Flynn. Maybe it was just the fact that he wasn't trying to beat this Toa senseless. In Tyrus' experience, that tended to have a major impact on relationships.

"Well, come on then," he continued, leading the nameless Toa down the hallway. "I have an appointment at the HQ anyway-" he held up his charred hand "-so I figure you can register yourself while I'm getting stitched up."

IC: Daijuno / The Chisaii Ryuu

This isn't good.

The Commodore's shout carried far, even down here, where there wasn't far to carry. Mako sprang right into action, his speed surprising for a guy his age. Not to mention embarrassing for me, the young woman who'd just been left in the dust of a God-knows-what-genarian.

Well, let's change that, shall we?

"Tie down the cargo!" I barked at the workers around me. "Keep it secure! I don't want a single scuff on these boxes by the time we get out of this!"

Presuming we do get out of this.

I brought one hand to my knife, and with a final glance back at the ship hands, I bolted for the upper decks. Maybe I didn't want to be one to fight whatever was worrying the Commodore, but I couldn't just sit down below without knowing what we were up against. I hurried past the Plangori who was shouting for a mechanic (I sure hope Aki can hear her from up here), clambering onto deck to get a look at--

"Oh."

IC: The Angler / Streets

Looking at the woman who had just bumped into me, I was starting to wonder if there just something about Sudo and I that attracted people into walking into us. I mean, I've always prided myself on having a magnetic personality, but I never anticipated such a metaphor being so literal.

"No problem, miss," I said, giving this Toa a reassuring smile and raising one hand in greeting--

And OH! I did not intend to raise the hand with only three fingers on it, that's probably not a good thing. Quickly and sheepishly, I hid that hand behind my back, repeating the greeting with my other hand.

IC: Akhulii

Ahkulii glanced over at the visitor and recognized him as the Ko-Toa he had met earlier. What was his name? Ah Ryzen, that must be it. The one who looks like he was dropped on his head as a child. Akhulii bounced over to Syvra's side. The scope on his mask automatically zoomed into Ryzen's face. "Ah, hello Mr. Ryzen, nice to see you here. Do you have any business here? Or have you decided you would like to join us on our epic expedition to span continents? Excellent! Then you can hold my suit case since Syvra won't!" Akhulii beamed. He didn't even wait for Ryzen to answer before already jumping to conclusions.

"We ought to get going then. We can have snacks as we walk! I have an all too good bag of grapes just waiting to be eaten!"

The ship heaved to the side and a loud crashing sound could be hard from Ryuu's underside.  Soraph was knocked into the wall, just barely keeping herself from falling onto the ground.

The next moment Dashi crew women were running all around her, heading for their designated work areas. One Dashi repeated an order from Ayiwah.

"Everyone to Battle stations!"

Soraph rushed to the staircase, clinging to a wall rail until she reached it. She made a slow ascent, knees sometimes buckling from another attack on the crystal submarine. She was now warrior; she had no illusions of being a hailed solider on the battlefield, scores of dead traitors by her feet. And at sea, she was even less able to participate in a fight, other sailors much more experienced in fighting on floating vessels amidst a roiling sea. But the Vilda princess could help, she could contribute.

Soraph reached the the top deck, blinded as her eyes adjusted to the bright sunlight. When she recovered,  she saw a fearsome sight. Menti with Soulswords drawn, including the Commodore, facing down half a dozen frighteningly large tentacles reaching atop the boat. As big as they were, Soraph knew that what they had to fear was the creature they belonged to, which must be much bigger. She reached with her mind, attempting to make mental contact with beast.

It was like trying to stop a river with small bucket.  Thoughts coarser by her consciousness, buffeting Soraph away.

"Aaaaahhhhh" she screamed in pain at the effort.

Hunger. Darkness. Hunger. Hard. Sharpness. Shadow. Hunger. Fish. Hunger.

"It thinks we're foooooooood!"

IC: Syvra

Syvra just looked down at Akhuli, and without any real emotion he uttered the simplest of words

"No."

After such a plain expression he walked over to Ryzen, gave him a once over and turned back to Akhuli

"You either choose one or the other. I will not be working with this coward of a toa of ice. I have worked with him in the past, and will not do so again. Now however I have more important things to tend to and am on a schedule. I thank you Akhuli for your services and as payment have this."

Syvra reached into his satchel to pull out a vial of what appeared to be a greenish, almost blue, liquid that he handed down to the matoran

"This is a vial of poison specially crafted by me. I will not tell you what went into it, nor how to make it except that you would require a toa of plantlife to make more. The poisons acts as paralyzer, but must be injected directly into the body else contact with air will significantly lessen it's effectiveness."

And with payment handed over, he attempted to walk out the door, uttering one last thing unless he were to be stopped

"I shall be in Onu-koro for a short time. You may be able to find me there."

When battlestations! were called, it took every Aki had not to immediately jump up on deck and start handing out free samples of ######-whooping. But her place was inside the sub, keeping an eye on all the... breakable stuff.

She ground her teeth, keeping an eye on the instruments. That monster was breakable too, if only she could get a chance to get her hammer on it...

"Mechanic! I need a mechanic who doesn't suck at their job right now!"

The Dasaka spun around to see a familiar face (but really, who wasn't a familiar face these days? the sub was hardly bigger than her old shop) frantically waving a wrench.

"Alright now, calm down," Aki said, although her heart was hammering fast enough to disagree. "What is it? I'm kinda busy here."

Mechanic! Oh, yes, mechanic was good.  Soraya quite literally skidded to a stop in front of her, slightly out of breath.  "Okay! Okay.  Long story short.  Giant sea monster.  Uh, what else.  Probably going to hit us on the engines.  Can't do much up there.  Thought I could down there.  Didn't think much past that.  What else what else what-"

She looked down at the wrench again.  There was a small wheezing noise that she was pretty sure came from her.

"Aaaaaaand this morning I was spotter on the engine checks and I think the person in charge said there was something that needed replacing on engine 2 but I can't actually remember what it is but I'm guessing we probably should replace it before our big fishy friend gets a direct hit in right?"

"I'll bet as well"

That was the first thing I said after I had gotten back on track. The Lesterin who was missing two fingers didn't help much, but at least he didn't look like he was planning to attack me. No, somehow he appeared like he had something more sinister in mind.

Getting a good look at the three, I had already scribbled down an extra idea in my notebook before it disappeared in my backpack, I didn't feel like presenting an open book to complete strangers, so to speak.

So instead I decided to run with it and have a little fun, it wasn't like I was going anywhere.

"Five widgets says you're not quite as attractive as you think you are, and you could probably make do with three or four more people bumping into you" I said with a light-hearted smirk.

"I take it you're going somewhere? People always seem to do that when you bump into them"

Always trust Ga-Koro to be full of crazies, a wise man once told him. Perhaps now was one of those times?

Whatever, keep the ball rolling.

"Yeah, about thirty feet down the dock." he flatly intoned, jabbing a finger forward. "We're already at three, so at this rate five is certainly doable."

A small smile appeared on the Toa's mask as he nodded and followed behind the Lesterin. The dust and sand from his torn and tattered clothing had blown away from the gukko flights.

"I don't really know how to fight... But there is training available right...?" The host said quietly as his thoughts drifted back to the duel.

"Admirable optimism, I gotta say." I said.

"Does it come without the deadpan or is it a package deal?"

I looked in the direction the Le-Toa pointed, leading me down the docks again and presenting me with a collection of naval vessels of varying shapes and sizes.

"So, you're going out to sea. What's the occasion?"

IC:   "Ah, I gotcha I gotcha..." Ehkann replied as his mouth began to creak open into a yawn. Alright! This is boring as karz. No need to insult the matoran, yeah? The Skakdi mentally scolded himself for doing so, snapping his jaw shut the moment it opened.

Ehkann knelt down on one knee to meet the Matoran at eye level. He did his best to give him a sincere smile, and he was sincere for the most part. Skakdi just weren't all that known for smiling unless they had their prey trapped in a corner. "You seem pretty beat up, my friend. I'm having trouble believing they survived this crash that you were in. If you want I could... escort you to someone who'd make you new stuff, eh?"

IC (Ayiwah):

The first tentacle had been followed by a second one, and a third - Ayiwah kept counting as they crawled up the sides. The Ryuu's hull moaned in low tones that were more felt than heard as it was constantly rocked by smaller pushes and bumps from the giant creature that had latched on to it. But that didn't stop its crew from moving, readying defenses.

Vilda Mako was the first to answer the call followed by Arisaka.

:Ready and able, Commodore:

The Datsue had barely finished the words, when Arisaka's fist connected with the first tentacle. The mass of metallic muscle and suction cups bulged under the impact, the skin buckled and purple blood spread underneath through the bruised tissue. The tentacle jerked back instinctively, but it was only one part of a larger organism and another of its many started coming for the Menti, either to seize her or to crush her against the deck.

:Sinshi! Now!: Ayiwah ordered the dual-soulsword wielding Menti, then called out to the rest of the crew: :Attack at will! Seems that thing can't see us up here at the moment so it has to guess or feel for prey. Keep moving and keep the arms away from the deck gunners!: , before turning to Mako.

:Coordinate with Soraph, she could use the assistance and if we can attack the things mind directly, all the better!:

All crewmembers aboard would easily be able to pick up on the commands transmitted via ideatalk. In the meantime said deck gunners were getting ready to engage the giant squid as well. Dashi and Saihoko sailors barked out orders automatically, without Ayiwah having to direct them. They knew exactly what to do. In teams of three they hurried across the deck and flipped open rows of rectangular hinged panels along the sides. Stowed below these hatches were crystal launchers, projectile weapons mounted on powered mechanical folding arms. Two Suihei readied each weapon while the third seized the handles, preparing to fire as soon as their crewmates had the launcher prepped. In the meantime the other crew not tied to any critical station were handing each other blades, spears and other weapons to fight off the other tentacles, that were moving across the deck slowly and deliberately for now, trying find any living thing. If Soraph was right and the cephalopod was just looking for a meal, they would make sure it would be the most bitter meal.

:Engineering: Akimoto, Soraya, I need a status on those engines asap!: Ayiwah mentally called out, continuing to coordinate the defense, while simultaenously directing her psyonic rapier to keep another tentacle away from the Suihei setting up the launchers. Out of the corner of her eye she noticed Daijuno standing frozen in front of the main-hatch, staring at the rising tentacles.

:Look alive, Suihei!: she snapped at her, trying to get her moving.

If they were lucky, maybe they could cause the creature enough pain to make it retreat. But while her primary concern was the defense of the crew and the ship, a part of Ayiwah couldn't help but wonder what had driven such a deep-sea dweller to the surface...

IC Asa

While everybody else had rushed outside, Asa had hung back near the hatch of the ship. Her fighting skills were nothing to boast about, and the crew needed the medic alive so she could treat everybody else, so she stayed in the hatch, poking her head out regularly to check on the others.

IC: Vilda Mako (Chisai Ryuu)

:Got it: I called back, running over to where Soraph was writhing in agony. The Wolf's paws drummed a primal rythm in my head as I reached out towards Soraph, both physically with my hands and through the mind.

Immediately, I was overwrought with feeling the presence of the squid in my mind as well, and it was unlike anything that'd ever run through my head before (quite an accomplishment, given the kind of things I wasted my time on), and I had to groan myself as well.

Regardless, I knew how to shape up and hold tight, and that's what Soraph needed.

:Soraph, come out, I'm here. Now show the overgrown tadpole what we're worth:

IC:

Nihi had followed Ayiwah up onto the deck at the start of the attack, but the Commodore had been quickly lost in a swirl of activity, leaving Nihi to stand dumbly alone in the midst of the impending crisis. Shocked, uncertain of the best course of action, Nihi had been unable to do anything but watch as first one, then two, then five, then more tentacles, huge suckered whips thicker around than her waist, had exploded out of the water and quickly set about feeling blindly for Dasaka aboard, presumably to feed the creature they belonged to.

Nihi was suddenly very much aware that she was unarmed; not that her staff would've done much good against the tentacles, but as a warrior she felt naked without it. A terrible noise from the foaming depths around the Ryuu made her feel even more vulnerable. Somewhere between a waterlogged foghorn and a beating bass drum, the bestial rumble, a prolonged and predatory growl, emanated loudly enough from the water that Nihi could actually feel its vibrations in her knees. Not even her Kanohi Rau could turn the tentacled beast's cry into comprehensible words; instead, Nihi felt the creature's instincts, full and primal, as loudly as though they'd been screamed in her ear. Anger. Hunger. Pain. Fear.

Fear?

Before she could contemplate that anomaly for too long, a lashing movement before Nihi's field of view caught her attention. One of the tentacles had crossed the deck and shoved a Saihoko sailor off her feet, sending her stumbling inexorably over the edge of the Ryuu's railing. The sailor fell for a half-second, a gut-wrenching half-second, before Nihi regained her senses and acted. Invisible hands caught the Saihoko mid-fall, and carried her back up to the deck, depositing her roughly but not unkindly back onto its surface. As Nihi exhaled in relief and dropped her hands - which tended to rise sometimes when she used her power without thinking, a habit from the Yards - the Saihoko turned and met her eyes.

It was the same sailor that Nihi had shoved off the gangplank on the day of the departure, seemingly ages ago. Somehow, Nihi hadn't seen her over the course of the whole voyage thus far. The Saihoko recognized Nihi too, and nodded brusquely in her direction. Thanks, the nod said. But there wasn't time for Nihi to smile back; the tentacles continued to thrash about. The beast was not dispelled.

Soraph gladly welcomed the relief Mako provided, however slight it might be. The weight of the monster's mind was still immense but now Soraph could keep herself standing up, unbearable pain transformed into a heavy throb. She steadied herself for moment using Mako's outstretched arms, then released the Vilda Datsue.

"It's all right, I can stand" she mumbled.

Soraph sought out Mako's mind on the mental, both their consciousness joining in the fight against the sea creature.

:It's mind is too vast to dominate completely: she told Mako under the torrent of impressions and feelings. :We have to ... divert the direction of the beast's thoughts. Make it think we're a rock. A sharp rock.

"Commodore, don't attack it! We can deal with we just...." Soraph swallowed deeply, struggling to split her attention between the fight and talking aloud. "We need two or three more Willahammers, maybe a Sighteye!"

.:Understood.:.

The single word floated over the mental plane, quiet, and likely unheard. It didn't matter. It wasn't relevant. Ayiwah's order had been two words, only one, truth be told, but a switch had been flipped; almost of their own accord, her muscles bunches and released, sending her sprinting forward towards the tentacles reaching for Arisaka. Her eyes flared, fixed on her target.

Within a few feet of her enemy, she lashed out, one of her hook blades looping around and biting into the foremost tentacle. It was not merely an attack, however, as a single tug pulled her forward, cutting a few seconds off of her arrival. Abruptly, she ceased the existence of her blade and brought her hand back towards a stable stance, returning the weapon to reality as soon as it was clear. Each tentacle was clear within her vision, a tangible threat. Her stance was solid, her awareness sufficient; her mask would enable swift enough reaction times.

And some focus had been taken off of Arisaka. Initial objective accomplished.

IC: Arisaka

...

Arisaka was characteristically silent as Sinshi came to her aid. She would have acknowledged her, but she was too busy trying to avoid getting crushed by tentacles.

Sinshi had successfully pulled one tentacle away from her, but another was still coming towards Arisaka. She didn't look concerned however, she waited for it to get closer...

WHOOSH! Glowing energy beamed to life as her soulsword came into existence, in the shape of a mighty sword. She swiped at the tentacle as it came within reach of her blade, using her Pakari to make the swing as strong as possible. She did enjoy sushi after all.

IC: Akhulii

Akhulii took a few steps forward towards Syvra when he left but stopped. He just frowned and his eyes followed him out the door. He felt insulted to an extent, but very intrigued as to the exact nature of Syvra's anger. He seems to have a knack for making enemies and getting crushed by rocks... Akhulii decided they would meet again, but Syvra had made it clear that he would not be working for him.

Akhulii turned to Ryzen and said, "Well since your rash fellow Syvra is out of the deal, I believe you can fill the gap. I am looking to hire for a trip to various parts of the island to collect fauna and herbs to expand my business of alchemy and brewery. So I suppose you'll be needing this," Akhulii's smile returned as he plopped the bulging suitcase into Ryzen's arms.

"You can be sure the pay will be good, but for now we ought to get going I suppose; that bag of grapes can't wait forever you know."

IC: Syvra

Syvra took one look back at the hut and sighed. He felt sorry for turning his back on that energetic matoran, but he could not have Ryzen getting involved. To hurt a matoran or risk everything, well the answer was fairly simple. And with that he headed for Onu-wahi, and a meeting with the ussalry.

OOC: Special delivery!

IC: Priicu - Carrier Rahi from Ko-Wahi

A small winged Rahi drifted down from the sky, lighting in the village, near a guard. It raised its leg, a small paper message attached to it. "To Akiri or Guard" was written on the outside.

The writing on it was quick and sloppy, evidently written in a hurry.

Ko-Koro under attack. I do not know who our assailants are, but they are ruthless and powerful. They have Toa, Skakdi and Vortixx attacking civilians. A tower of the citadel has been destroyed by an explosion of their design.

The Brotherhood of Ak'Rei'An' has joined the attack, though whether the initial attackers are working with them is unknown.

Mata nui help us all.

IC: The Seventh

"Thank you for your patronage."

Seven sighed as she paid the shopkeeper, exiting the hut to meet the warm sunlight of her village. In her hands was an apple, one that she had impulsively bought before she even realised what she was doing. Everything felt so ... empty these days, or maybe it was just her. Things had never been the same since her time as a Mark Bearer, not had they improved after ... Wraith ...

She rose the fruit to her mouth. Behind her powerless Hau, the Ga-Matoran and seventh-oldest Jaliax sister sighed melancholically. There wasn't really any point. Where was the spark in her life nowadays? Wasn't she supposed to be the brave and awesome one?

OOC: Seven open for interaction.

IC: Soraya [The Chiisai Ryu]

"I'll follow your lead."

Okay, good, right.  They could handle this.  "Engine 2, come on!"  The pair turned and dashed down the hallway; Soraya tried to dredge up what exactly had been the issue with that morning's check-up.  Zuto Nui, this was like, textbook karma.  Morie would be telling this one to all the little Plangori if Soraya made it back to tell her.

"Here!"

The two stopped at the door to the main engine, and Soraya threw it open.  Inside, it seemed to be puttering away even as the submarine rocked about.  Was something off? Too loud? Too quiet? Anything look like it was gonna blow-

:Engineering: Akimoto, Soraya, I need a status on those engines asap!:

A noise not quite unlike a shelf of dishes collapsing, except as a voice, came out of her mouthUh, um, possible issue with engine 2, we're investigating it, Aki's handling it! She turned back to the Dasaka.  PLEASE TELL ME YOU CAN HANDLE IT, she mouthed.

OOC: Moving these other two chars ahead.

IC (Rhow):

It was a bit hard talking to Iraanus while the telepathic Toa did his music thing. Rhow looked like she was only half paying attention to him, after all, the Toa had caught the Skakdi while they were about to move out, but on the other hand she was slightly bobbing her head along to the rhythm.

After Vakua had finished, Rhow nodded. "Not half bad." she grumbled in typical Skakdi fashion, though not unfriendly. "Feel free to come and entertain the guests. All tips you get you keep."

"That's all I can say for now. Anything else we'll have to discuss when we get back."

She shrugged, before redirecting her attention back to Iraanus.

"Taoki here got the idea to find out what makes a Rahkshi's gears turn. I decided to assist him before his experiments finally sink this place and we get stuck paying off the rest of the mortgage. Wanna tag along? We can always use an extra blade."

IC (Leah):

The dark walks were indeed as thoroughly cast in shadow as their name implied. And walking through that darkness were two of the Maru, chosen by fate to carry light into such shadowy places. In Leah's case, it wasn't just a metaphor at the moment: The Toa Maru of water had taken a light-stone out of her satchel and hung it from the crimson ribbon tied to her bo-staff to light the way.

Next to, Reordin Maru, Toa of ice, casually twirled one of his pickaxes. Being on the lookout for anything crawling in the dark that might be waiting for a chance to launch an ambush was necessary down here.

Always keep your eyes open.

The two Toa continued on their way towards Mangaia, to find out what the Piraka had been up to there.

OOC: Leah and Reordin to Kini-Nui.

IC: He shrugged. "Never said we're it. You are gonna need to sign a contract, though."

IC: Wherya (Ga-Koro)

"I guess I can't argue with that," I replied, shrugging noncommittally (five syllables, not bad) as I offered my hand, making sure to extend the Lesterin my right hand.

"Name's Wherya"
