IC: "That is for you to decide Toa. I am not here to judge you on your past. Only on your present. We all make mistakes. I have made my share and so has my friend here I'm sure. Though I suspect nothing as dire as forcing a whole Koro in a wave of oppression in the name of the Dark one." Doseki stopped as the sound he had been tracking was silent. He started to look around like he had dropped something on the ground. He then turned back to Vyrtha Vena. "Now I am not here to tell you how to live your life; as short or as long it is going to be is up to you. Revoke your past and look to the future and atone for your past mistakes. You mentioned about a price for taking us to Le-Koro. Well now that you have our attention perhaps we can talk about that. My friend here as business to attend to there. Standing around on the ground in hostile jungle is not my personal idea of a fun time."

I grunted, sheathing my sword.

 

"I concur. Business seems to be a preferable subject of conversation than morality at this point. What do you think of my offer, Doseki of Po-Koro?"

OOC: Just going to move things along by making Fulmen act out of character.

 

IC (As Fulmen): "Doseki. I hate to rush you, but we have to run." Said the matoran of lightning. "We can't take her along, what if we get robbed and killed on the way to Le-Koro? What if she destroys the village when we bring her there? The two of us would be arrested for assisting a criminal and we would be trapped in the shadows of a small cell with this psychotic killer." The Vo-Matoran looked back up at Vyartha Vena. "Sorry, Pride, the deal is off, we're moving to Le-Koro on our own."

OOC: Po-Matoran Doseki

IC: Doseki did not even get a chance to reply to Vyrtha Vena before Fulmen spoke up. It would appear that a decision was made. Doseki was hired to get Fulmen safely to Le-Koro and as the contractor he had the final say as long as it did not directly put him in harms way. "I am sorry Toa. It would appear that our business has ended. My friend here has made his wishes of not wanting to travel with you well known and we must be on our way. While we cannot stop you from traveling to Le-Koro yourself or following us on our way." Doseki straightened up his gear and looked once more at the Toa of Fire Vyrthan Vena. "Remember what I said. Think about making amends for your crimes and turning your life for the betterment of others. You are a Toa after all; a Hero to our people. Even if you have lost your way and your path jaded, you are still around to change. You must be willing to however. Nobody can make you or do it for you."
 
With that last word to the wayward Toa Doseki gave a nod to Fulmen that it was time to go. While he was up the tree Doseki though he saw a path that maybe could lead them to their destination.

IC (As Fulmen): "Don't forget about the rope. I'll watch your back, it's the least I can do for you." Said the matoran of lightning as he held the climbing claw in front of him. "Like my friend said, I can't control your actions, so whether you want to destroy another village or restore your former glory, I can only hope for the best."

With a final wave, I closed the door and went back inside, flopping onto the sofa. For a long time, I just sat there, listening to the silence of my own home, thoughts about the other night running rampant in my mind. It was strange I thought, maybe even a tad surreal considering my luck. Heck, I had just finished watching Trava walk through the door, gone like a rubber duckie lost to the sea, and already it felt like a distant memory.

 

I should have been smiling, feeling all good about myself now that I spent the night with a total hottie (ten out of ten) that I’d probably never see again. Instead, I was suddenly too busy mulling over the idea of going back to my job, doing the same old boring patrol work. Sure, coming out on top in the middle of a nasty beetle crisis was fun, the party being a major bonus, but things would simmer down and stay quiet for a long time until the next big thing.

 

Well, I didn’t feel like waiting for the next big thing to come find me. It surprised me that I only realized the night before how being a guardsman wasn’t for me. The job was stable, paid well, played to my strengths yet its strict, rigid nature felt like an anchor, a stark contrast to how I used to live: always on the move, doing whatever that looked like fun.

 

And let me tell you, I was flat out broke most of the time.

 

Apparently, that appealed to me.

 

And though I had every reason to stay, I found myself on my best friend’s Vohu's back, his insect wings buzzing madly as we flew towards a future that had DESERTER written all over it.

 

Maybe AWOL if I played my cards right.

I made no immediate reply to either Fulmen or Doseki. They had made their decisions, both to go ahead without my protection and to make a final plea for the path of atonement. Neither was, in my particular opinion, a wise choice on their parts, but it would be up to them to suffer the consequences; not me.

 

"You may hope as much you both like," I finally said, turning away from the duo. "But your path is not mine."

 

I nodded once to them, curtly.

 

Then I turned and walked away.

IC: Doseki stopped his departure to turn around and address Fulmen. "You are right. We may need it." He then looked over at the Toa of Fire as she turned and walked away. "I am sorry Toa. He I may be in charge; but he is the boss. Perhaps our paths will cross again." Waving his hand over the ground in a sweeping motion Doseki turned to face the tree. Flipping his remaining climbing claw once in his hand before he quickly started up the tree. He used his prior holes in the trunk to support himself as he made the trip to the branch in a much quicker fashion now that he was not carrying any extra weight. Once he reached the top he looked down at Fulmen. "Stand clear... It is coming down!" Without a Further word Doseki took his claw and removed the rope from the tree and watched as it fell to the jungle floor below. He then yelled back down to Fulmen. "Start rolling that up for me and store it in my pack. I'll be right down!"

I was hanging (HA) around in one of the ladders leading up the masts. Six inches tall me was enjoying the view a lot better than fullsize me could, and the view was G O A T.

 

"I dunno what any of that means, but I've heard it lotsa times"

IC (As Fulmen): "Rolling it!" Called out the Vo-Matoran as he picked up the rope and coiled it into a small bundle. "Be careful on your way down!" The matoran of lightning shouted as he packed the bundle into Doseki's pack.

IC: Doseki looked out to the forest floor to see if he could spot the road he had noticed before. Seeing the path off the way he made a note of what direction it was then started back down the tree trunk. Being carful to hit the foot holes so he wouldn't fall to his death. Eventually he reached the bottom and retrieved his gear from Fulmen. "Thank you for that. Now I seen a path due, that direction." Doseki stated as he pointed off the way. "It looked almost to be a main road. Unless we run into any more distractions or Bandits, we should be safe to travel it until we reach Le-Koro."

Fulmen asked as he remembered that he ran from the tan scorpion after a wild muaka got angry and tried to attack them. "It's pretty slow to travel on foot and I'm kind of concerned about your companion." The Vo-Matoran looked around, wondering where the scorpion could be.

IC: Doseki looked over to Fulmen when he asked about Scorpio. An interesting question and one Doseki was not expecting to have to answer. Even though the two of them had possibly grown to be friends, they had only met a short time ago. He didn't really want to reveal all his secrets to the Vo-Matoran. Especially if that Fire Toa was still around. Though a simple answer would suffice he thought. "I appreciate your concern Fulmen but I would not worry too much about Scorpio. He is a Nui Jaga after all and a Predator rahi. He is capable of tracking a target for quite some distance." Getting real close to Fulmen he pointed off in the distance. "He may already have." Doseki wasn't really pointing at anything visible above the ground yet barely noticeable the soil itself around some plants looked as if it was disturbed recently. "Now we should be off to Le-Koro. We don't want to get there only for the shops to be our of the herbs you need."

IC: A small smile appeared on Doseki's mask. "No I suppose not. I am sure he will follow behind us and be keeping a watchful claw on our progress." Doseki followed behind Fulmen with his Kolhii Stick in hand as the pair walked towards the path that would ultimately lead them to Le-Koro.

[Naota Takizawa]

IC (As Fulmen): "Hey, Doseki. If we're lucky, there could be some jobs in Le-Koro that I could take to pay you back for escorting me." Said the Vo-Matoran as he kept walking alongside the Po-Matoran. "If not, then I'll have my widgets ready by the time I'm done searching." The matoran of lightning rummaged through his bag and saw his money. *I'm starting to run low...*

"So, what do you think-say? Pretty neat, huh?" the Le-Matoran said, grinning up at the Toa.

The dark Toa started pacing back and forth again, but stopped after another 30 minutes of being alone with her thoughts. Her eyes spotted a bird descending through the tree branches and down to the edge of lake Pala. Slowly, she started walking, following the Rahi to the water. 

 

"So, how do they usually kill time in this place...?" she mumbled, asking no-one in particular.

 

OOC: Very much open for interaction with Rewera. Anything to get her back into some action ^^

ooc: well I can offer some interaction. My character(s) are possibly within the area of Lake Pala. Is Dark a reference to your personality or color pallet? Don't really want to put my companion into another possible evil Toa conflict.

IC: Doseki's thoughts paused a moment as he was walking along the road with Fulmen. For a second there it sounded like the Vo-Matoran would not be able to pay for this trip. Great Doseki thought to himself This guy freaks out at the Sight of his Nui Jaga almost starting a riot, then challenges Mata Nui itself and summoning a Muaka that attacks them. Then flees in terror only to get the both of them hopelessly lost. To continue down this path of bad luck they come across a Follower of Makuta, the Dark God himself. To possibly make matters even worse if at all possible; he tried to provoke the Toa putting not only his own life at risk but Doseki's as well. Now with their trip nearly halfway done the realization that maybe Doseki is not going to be getting paid sinks in.
 
After being lost in his own thoughts Doseki snaps back to reality. "Yes, getting a job would be a welcome prospect. I remember you saying you were going there for Herbs in the Market. So are you a medic of some kind?"

IC: Scorpio had resurfaced finally after traveling so far in search of his Master Doseki and his delectable new follower. He had found himself near a Lake and quite thirsty. Coming up to the shoreline Scorpio dipped his head into the surf to take a drink.

"Alright, though what about after we check in with the Marines? I'd like to have our course of action prepared a few steps ahead of the current step. Prevents us from wasting time trying to decide 'what next.'"

OOC: Hey Vesok's Friend, I searched up Rewera and I got Aitua. Can you explain the story behind that? 

IC (As Fulmen): "I'm not a medic and I don't know anyone willing to teach me how to use them, so I have to buy them to teach myself." Replied the Vo-Matoran as his eyes lit up. "Hey, you're a guard right? Do you get basic medical training?" The matoran of lightning looked at Doseki. "I can buy whatever herbs you need as a payment for you protecting me." Said Fulmen. "How does that sound, friend?"

The jungle held no more excitement for me. Even Sloth, wherever she was, could not keep me here.

 

So I walked.

 

I do not recall for how long.

IC: "Yes in fact I did receive some minor field medic training. Though not enough to make too much use of raw herbs. Basically enough to stint a broken limb or patch up an open wound. So I wouldn't have much use for such weeds." They had been walking down this road a while and every turn seemed to be identical to the last. Until finally there was a sign just up the way. "The widgets would be better as then I could use them for a variety of needs. such as filling our empty bellies." Doseki stopped to look at the sign that read;  -   . After reading the sign Doseki looked over at Fulmen. "It would appear our trip may be at its end."

The Vo-Matoran looked up at the sign above the gate. "Well, I should get going now. I can't thank you enough for what you've done for me." Fulmen straightened his kanohi. "Farewell, Doseki. I hope we can meet again, friend."

IC: Doseki willingly accepted the payment for his services. then looked at the great Tree that housed the HUB of Le-Koro and the elevator Pods that would bring himself and Fulman into the actual village itself. There were two Le-Matoran guards near the root of the tree and sitting between them was a single elevator pod. Doseki could hear music coming from the canopy. "While our trip may be at an end there is no reason we need to part ways just yet. It has been quite some time since I have been in Le-Koro. I think I will join you." Walking over to the two guards and the elevator pod Doseki greeted them. "Hello there, we need safe passage into Le-Koro."

 

The Two Le-Matoran guards looked at each other then moved their spears from baring Doseki and Fulmen's path. Doseki thanked them before boarding the elevator and waiting for Fulmen. "Are you coming Vo-Matoran?"

IC: *GASP* I think it is *pulls and falls back* wow a bar of gold, I never thought I'd come across one of these, I'd best show it to the village, wait if you do they'll probably just try and take it, best put it in the old backpack, now let's hope nothing bad happens on the way back home.

IC: Doseki willingly accepted the payment for his services. then looked at the great Tree that housed the HUB of Le-Koro and the elevator Pods that would bring himself and Fulman into the actual village itself. There were two Le-Matoran guards near the root of the tree and sitting between them was a single elevator pod. Doseki could hear music coming from the canopy. "I heard that the musicians of Le-Koro are amazing at creating beautiful tunes with their instruments, I really want to hear them play." Said the matoran of lightning as he looked down out of the elevator. "Ohh, we are quite far... Above... The ground..." Fulmen stepped back and blinked before returning to normal.

IC: Doseki smiled beneath his mask when Fulmen commented about the height of the village from the ground. "Yeah it keeps the villagers safe from the more dangerous ground rahi that inhabit the Jungle. I am just glad the only one we managed to run into was a single Muaka." Once the elevator stopped Doseki departed and looked around the platform.

IC (As Fulmen): "The view is amazing from here..." Commented Fulmen as his eyes gazed upon the treetops and saw the volcano from Ta-Koro that dominated the landscape. "Hey, Doseki, I was wondering, what did you do the last time you visited Le-Koro?" The matoran of lightning asked curiously.

Maybe he stopped by to do some trade with the other Koros in the market but that seemed to be about it. "You know I cannot quite remember the last time I actually came to Le-Koro, or what I did for that matter. I remember helping out during the attack on the Nui-Rama hive but other then that I would guess I just came here to the Market to trade wares with Matoran from other villages."

IC: Doseki had to think on Fulmen's question; he really had no idea when the last time he was in Le-Koro was. He vaguely remembered being here for the raid on the Nui-Rama Hive(As an unnamed NPC) But not really anything after that. Maybe he stopped by to do some trade with the other Koros in the market but that seemed to be about it. "You know I cannot quite remember the last time I actually came to Le-Koro, or what I did for that matter. I remember helping out during the attack on the Nui-Rama hive but other then that I would guess I just came here to the Market to trade wares with Matoran from other villages."

 

IC (As Fulmen): "Nui-Rama hive? I would rather get airsick from flying on a kahu than go anywhere near a Nui-Rama, let alone an entire hive!" The matoran of lightning exclaimed. "Where's the musicians? Have they already finished playing for the day?"

IC: And then the party got crazy.

The next morning, one slightly more scruffled-looking Su-Toa stood at the village gate, belongings all pack-no-manced into a respectably middling in size travel bag. Unless he was going blind (not likely) or half-stupid (admittedly a little more likely), it looked like he was the first one here. Cool with him, and was really only proper. He'd set this idea up and all, right?

Itching a spot on the side of his head, he thanked himself for not getting too caught up in the drinks the night before.

He knew there was going to be at least one person coming along who wouldn't be able to say the same. He wasn't sure how much he really wanted to see that already snippy Ba-Toa hungover.

IC: Doseki had a short laugh, "No I doubt if they are done for the day as there is always music in the trees of Le-Koro. Music is the lifeblood of a Le-Matoran.
