Hapori Tohu
Christian Faber recently updated his blog with a couple of cool pictures. He created some Hero Factory MOCs and then added them to some scenery from the past few years of the theme's story. They really showcase Faber's building ability and serve as a reminder that LEGO is in great hands with Advance and Hero Factory should have some great things ahead of it. Vorahk1Panrahk2
Heh, nice use of the much loathed (or are they still?) blue pins. The creations are great by themselves, but I almost love the "sets" and photography even more. They breath a very strong life into the creations. Great stuff. I should really spend more time on his blog. Quote BZPRPG Profiles
Toatapio Nuva
It's amazing how Faber can make even something as bland as Hero Factory sets to look actually cool. He's really amazing. Kopekemaster
I gotta say, I really like the first picture. If all of HF was that epic, I might be more into it. Faber did a really good job with all of these. Quote My Writing Blog (more writing coming soon!) Wazdakka
If Hero Factory was like this, then I'd buy all of the sets in a heartbeat. Love the beefiness of them and the detail. Aanchir
These are some great MOCs and great photos, but I disagree with a lot of the comments about how "I wish HF sets were like this". What makes a good set and what makes a good MOC are different things. I think if these WERE released as sets, we'd see a lot of complaints about their color schemes not being exciting or cohesive enough and their builds being repetitive. They DO have some amazing traits, though, like really good proportions (they have this in common with a lot of sets), some neat techniques for the lower legs, and of course their impressive bulk. The custom heads in the second photo are simple, but have a lot of personality. I'm not so fond of the weapons, which feel a bit unfinished, but conceptually these models really feel exciting, which is helped by their dynamic poses and immersive backgrounds. I'm also impressed with one thing nobody's commented on — the little "Hero Factory MOC Shop" logo he came up with!
