_Artakha_
Greetings. It has been a long while since the last time I posted a MoC, or even visited BZP for that matter, but I randomly dropped by, saw this contest, and wanted to join. Sadly, my gaming experience is limited, but I asked a friend who has played more games than I who I should build. He suggested Dog from Halflife 2. This is the result. Chro
I think you did a very nice job with recreating the shaping of the original (especially on the arms). Due to the use of the Kakamas on the faceplate, I did initially mistake the top Kakama for his face, but there isn't really anything you can do about that. Great MOC! 2 Quote save not only their lives but their spirits
Phovos
Oh neat! It can come along and squish my Headcrab MOC! Did you not have enough Kakama masks to make them all the same colour? 1 Quote Click here to read The Bohrok-Kal's Ramblings! I put way to much effort into detail I redesigned the left arm and left leg a billion times (that may be an exaggeration). I was quite concerned right at first what I was going to do for the face. I haven't played the game, but in looking up vids and pictures for reference I was worried I wouldn't find a way to do it. Then I realized I had three Kakama and used those. Oh neat! It can come along and squish my Headcrab MOC! Did you not have enough Kakama masks to make them all the same colour?I unfortunately don't have another brown Kakama just pretend the upper one rusted a bit more Thanks for the reviews! Makaru
I was planning on making d0g as well for the contest, but that fell through. Solid use of colours and "junk" for the appropriate limbs. I want to give you guff for the head, which is the weakest component on your design, but having put hours of consideration into it myself, I honestly could not tell you what you should have used. All in all, a solid entry for a solid character! 2 Quote Spoiler Alert

This design is legitimately the best that I can do with my collection of pieces. Quote Check out my Lego Ideas Project!
Rumpofsteelskin
Very well made. The arms are quite beautifully done. Out of all the MOCs in this contest, I think it's the most accurate to the 3d model it's based on.
JAG18
This is pretty good and bares an overwhelming resemblance to the source; what really helps create the resemblance IMO is your creative use of parts. The way you made the arms is also particularly well done. Yeah, great job and good luck in the contest.
Torran
Looks like a bunch of junk slapped together... which is to say, it looks very, very much like Dog. I considered him as well for the contest, but couldn't think on how to make him -- you've done a wonderful job, and I especially admire the use of Kakama at his head. Well captured, and a great game, if you ever get the chance to play it. 1 Quote flickr - Brickshelf

Aka, late nights annoying my family with the sound of digging through my legos for that one piece I know I have somewhere. It somewhat felt like slapping junk together a few times, as I was largely using the remains of a couple recently deceased MoCs. Brown isn't the most common color sadly. My friend who suggested DOG was also quite pleased with the Kakama as the face. I think the fact that I happened to have 3 of them is what made this MoC possible, otherwise I don't think I could have done anything else for the face. Quote Check out my Lego Ideas Project! Obsessionist
I'm not familiar with the game, but from the reference image you sure did get a lot of things right. There are a few areas where I feel like a single Bionicle piece would have captured the shape of the original well, for example, his right hand/wrist thing just seem to be screaming for a Metru body, and some of the leg joints would have been beautiful with wheel elements. Your solutions look great, though, just not as cohesive as some other possibilities. Then again, I guess "cohesive" would be a bad look for this MOC, right? I love the way you did the torso, particularly good building there. Nice PU in general to represent the different pistons and such, I would have been tempted to just use a bunch of axels, but that wouldn't have matched the source as well.

As far as the wrist goes, are you reffering to your right or his? If yours, I can see what you mean. There were a few redesigns that included the Metru body, but I was going for articulation accuracy as well, and that just didn't give the wrist the movement I wanted. I'm honestly not sure what you mean by "wheel elements", so I can't say for sure if I could have done that. I am somewhat disappointed by the right (viewer's left) leg, it could've used a bit more work, but I was running out of time so I glossed over it. I do believe "cohesive" would not have been as true to the spirit of the character. Thanks about the torso btw, I had a good time designing it. Quote Check out my Lego Ideas Project!
