Bionicle Heroes PC weird issues

I recently got a copy of the Bionicle Heroes PC game. The game works in general, but has a few quirks...

 

First of all, music is completely disabled. The sounds work alright, but no changing of the settings make the music play. This problem renders the cutscenes without any sound at all as well. Any idea how to solve this?

 

Whenever you collect the required amount of pieces, you automatically go into the Hero mode and stay that way until you use it up on a gold construction. Is this supposed to be the case? In the demo version of the game you need to press space bar to activate hero mode and it only lasts a limited time.

The Hero Mode was indeed changed to be an instant trigger and to last until you used the golden constraction function.

 

As for the sound, is it only affecting the game? Does sound work for other things?

Yes, sound works otherwise alright. Just the game music is muted.

Can you check the game files to see if the music is even there?

The music is there, I've checked. As individual files they play all right.

Ah, that would be because the devs were idiots who thought you'd prefer to just be invincible for the entire game, as opposed to just a limited thing with an actual purpose.
