Go Ninja, go, go Ninja go!
Technically this news is over a month old but I always say it's better late than never. After all, this song is still as good as it was on release! After the Blackout by The Fold who already made the previous Ninjago songs is available for USD 0.99 on iTunes (instrumental version) and Google Play (instrumental version). The song is quite fun and was apparently in the iTunes charts top 20 at some point. If that review on iTunes is indeed from the The Fold singer, it seems they're recording new Ninjago songs now! Have care not to smash stuff in your room with some ninja stunts when listening.

If anyone hasn't heard this song yet and wants to give it a listen or read the lyrics before buying, here it is on The Fold's official YouTube channel. It's a pretty good song. Not flawless, of course (I cringed a bit the first time I heard them stress the second syllable of "city" to rhyme with "see"), but definitely a neat song to set the tone for this year's story.

I concur on this number; it's a good song. It's not without flaws, true enough - for some reason the tempo layering sounded off the first time, and I had to let it grow on me, but it's probably part of its weird charm. :)

One thing I like about these songs is that they are very much Ninjago, unlike Bionicle songs which just felt like standard fare with the Bionicle name plastered on them, and you had to think to make it fit. With these, the opposite is true - you have to work to remove it from the Ninjago context, if you would ever want to. It's more authentic.

Some of the BIONICLE music did a good job incorporating story-related details — "Creeping in my Soul" used the Barraki's "Creeps from the Deep" tagline, and the 2008 Cryoshell songs in particular had very strong and obvious parallels to the sets and story of those years. But you're right, it was never to nearly the same extent as a lot of the Ninjago promotional songs.

Of course, even Ninjago had "A-W-E-S-O-M-E", which is extremely generic and has no really strong ties to the theme whatsoever. That's definitely my least favorite of the Ninjago promotional songs. Then again, some people like songs that are less obviously tied to a particular franchise... within the brony community, I frequently hear certain fan-created songs praised with statements like "you could hear this on the radio and never realize it was My Little Pony—related". In my case, though, I really enjoy songs with a more obvious story behind them, not ones that are characterized by generic feel-good messages or obscure metaphors that could apply to anything. And if it's a song that really speaks to my interests as a fan of a particular franchise, all the better!

I have gotten the song (mainly because it was $0.99) and it's good but they say "Go Ninja Go" way too much in it that killed it a little.

If this the song I think it is then it is a worthy successor of the last theme. I might try to search for it on youtube to hear the full song before I buy it though.

No need to search — I posted a link to the song on The Fold's official YouTube channel in the first reply to this topic!

There's now an official music video!

EDIT: Whoops, didn't pay attention to who the last post was by, so I accidentally double-posted. Delete this post if necessary. :(
