Best Hero Factory Character?

Recommended Posts

I'm not particularly good at "favorites" questions. My favorite character is probably Bulk or Breez, but I have a hard time choosing between the two. Both have pretty reliably high-quality character designs. And they get a nice amount of character development even in story arcs where they don't play a central role (particularly Bulk in "Savage Planet", whose character development was incredibly heartwarming for those who were familiar with his defining character flaws in the 2010 story).

Evo is another favorite of mine in terms of design, but his characterization in the TV episodes has a tendency to jump about, and that knocks him down a few pegs. The "Hero Factory: Face Off!" guide book helps to explain his character development somewhat, but it's still hard to appreciate him from the TV episodes alone, and he doesn't tend to play a substantial role in other media.

Nex is unquestionably the funniest character, but he hasn't appeared in media too frequently so he has very little character development over the course of the series.

I'm not a big fan of the series because of it being so poorly written, but if I had to choose...

Best character story wise: Stormer or Von Nebula, they actually had a backstory

Best personality and combat skills: Bulk, he cracks the occasional funny joke (BULK SMASH, etc) and he is one of the most kickbutt members of the team.

You may going to change your mind about "Best Personality" because in IFB, Bulk was being sexist and didn't even listen to Breez at all. Let me just show you something I said in that Worst Hero Factory Character topic.

Anyway, Bulk was formerly my 2nd favorite Hero Factory Character but of what have happened in IFB, I'm new 2nd favorite character is Breez.

How was Bulk's attitude in IFB sexist? I don't think his skepticism about Breez's ideas and trigger-happy approach had anything to do with Breez's gender. They had to do with his prejudice against the beasts and his trouble thinking of them as anything more than giant, dangerous monsters.

But anyway, Bulk has a pretty great personality. It's rare that you have a series where the strong character feels self-conscious about being thought of as dumb muscle and turns to individual study as a means of self-improvement.

Did you watch the video linked to that post? Breeze made a plan that worked and talked for several seconds explaining it, then Evo carries it out and Bulk mis-attributes the idea to Evo, when it was clearly Breeze's idea.

It could have been an honest mistake, but it comes off badly in context since Breez made half the plans in the episode, and none of the guys ever gave her any credit.

Sounds to me like the screenwriter screwed up and nobody caught it, not that they were trying to portray Bulk as sexist. If they wanted it to be seen that way then they'd probably have called more attention to it (like having Breez shout "Hey!" or something like that) — the screenwriter himself has enough experience to know better than to expect this show's target audience to pick up on something like that on their own.

Fair point.

Surge even if he did not appear at Savage Planet or dose not have a xl form he is awesome especially in Brain Attack.

Is it because Surge became Michael Surge Jackson  :P

Someone should make a ten hours film of that. :P

Also someone should make a Stringer-stop motion music video, because he is the best character ever and deserves it. :P
