Most of us know that Hero Factory has very bare storyline. Factory build hero robots capture villains and so on. So I am asking have any of you made your own headcanons about Hero Factory, its characters or places?

Me and bunch of my friends from Finnish Bionicle community Bioklaani have made our own story for the first year of Hero Factory, when we were not creating our own take on Bionicle universe called Klaanon. We had a thing called Viktorpedia were everything was centered around Doktor Viktor Von Nebula, dentist and spacebaron.

Story in short.

It all started during WWII when American troops set fire on Von Nebula's mansion in Switzerland. Viktor's father, Hektor Von Nebula survives, but his wife and Viktor's mother Adelaine Von Nebula dies in a fire and this seeds some hatred for Viktor. Years later Viktor graduates from dentist school (like his father) and creates new toohtpaste brand known as Teridax. He becomes wealthy and starts his own moon projects.

Meanwhile the world's technology has created new Hero units. William Furno and Bill Furno are the first, made by the US, but  then Companies such as Nokia, Apple and Microsoft make their own hero units. Soviets join this battle too with their own hero unit, Natalie Breeznikova, which acts as an agent for Soviet Union.

viktorsmall.jpg

Characters:

Hero units:

Preston Stormer (Pekka Myrskyisä in Finland) is a Hero unit from Nokia. They later upgraded it with 2.0 software update and it was marketed as Preston Stormer Comes With Music. Later Nokia created a new Hero known only as Rokka. He was named after popular Finnish war hero from Unknown Soldier book byt Väinö Linna.

EVO is Microsoft's Hero Unit. We didn't really made him any personality at all.

iNex is a Hero unit from Apple. It has some issues with other heroes because of the different softwares. We didn't really bothered with him.

William and Bill Furno were the prototypes of a Hero Unit. They were market faces for new motorbikes and energy drinks. US goverment made a lots of money with these products and made other Hero units after Furno-line. Bulk, Stringer and Surge were the others not-so-succesful lines.

Natalie Breeznikova is Soviet Union's agent and Hero unit. She is armed with maatuska grenades and others stereotypical russian weapons.

Villains

Doktor Viktor Von Nebula is a dentist and a spacebaron who has a Moon Laser and an Earth laser. He has his own space programs and has a space train known as Mr. ChooChoo. Viktor is last from Von Nebula clan and he wants to get his revenge from the world. He became very famous with his highly radioactive Teridax toothpaste and has made technology empire known as the VictorTech. He has a ###### son who he doesn't even know and he adopted Vladimir Rotor.

Vladimir Rotor is a former orphan streetboy from Stalingrad whom Viktor raised as his own son.

Tavish McThunder is a Scottish master-mind and he wears McThunder-clan's colors. He has replaced his right hand with a robotic hand model Großen Handschuh from ViktorTech. He is a drunk and he claims to have fought against even the Loch Ness monster on one of his many drunken nights.

Maurice Corroder is a French master thief, former baker and he has a big moustache. His favorite weapon is a pistol hidden in a baguette and he swears a lot in french.

DJ XPlode is a Swedish DJ and electronic artist. He is specialiced in explosions and some times kills people attending in his concerts.

Vincent Vapour is a Canadian meteorologist and martial arts master. He has helped Viktor with his space program.

Michael EggTimer is Viktor's secret son who believes to be QUADAL-model robot. He is sided with US heroes, but when he finds the truth about his real father, no one knows ho he will act. His real name is Michael von Nebula.

Lord McFire is a British and a leader of his own group of villains and some times he works with Viktor on his plans. He is a founder and leader of McFire Oil corporation and has his own gang. He has a son known as David "Drilldozer" McFire and he has his own criminal gang. He smokes a lot cigars.

David "Drilldozer" McFire is Lord McFire's spoiled son who smokes a lot Cuban cigars. He is armed with a giant drill.

Jamais Jetbug is a South African bug specialist. He works with McFire Oil because he knows all about bugs and insects which may harm workers and stop drillings.

Nicholas Nitroblast is DJ Xplode's insane cousin from the Netherlands. He works with McFire Oil too and became insane watching too many cartoons. which damaged his eye too.

We didn't really create good storyline about our characters and created this as a joke. I hope this kind of topics are allowed.

So, post yours shall you?

Ah, I'd heard plenty from Klaanon, but not yet anything HF from you guys. This is pretty nice too. The villains are hilarious. :)

(However, I think it very well crosses the line from headcanon to fanfiction. :P)

I dunno, I don't personally like to reimagine lighthearted stories as serious, gritty stories or vice-versa. So I don't have any "headcanons" of that sort.

For a while in 2011, I did want to write a secret agent story where Breez, Nex, and Surge ended up cooperating with the Hero Recon Team while the other heroes were on Quatros. But I never got around to it, and while I fully knew there'd have to be some kind of mind-wipe at the end to keep it from conflicting with future stories, I still never thought things through well enough to make it a story worth telling.

Okay, I have quite a few. They're more headfanons though.

Evo is female. I have no idea why I think this, but I just can't think of her (AGH) him as male. Maybe because his helmet looks like Samus's?

Rocka acts and talks like a dapper Englishman. He has gold armor, a lion theme, a bow, and a MONOCLE! Seriously, what were the writers thinking to not do this?

Von Ness was exiled from the HF Force for corruption, after he was discovered selling restricted Factory weapons and taking bribes to "accidentally" fail to turn in criminals.

Aldous Witch was in on it with him, but faked his death before his involvement was discovered.

These are some intriguing ideas indeed! Teridax toothpaste sounds like a unique way to build up a technical firm, and Heroes' personal lives sound like a fun path to explore. Also, Von Ness' acceptance of bribes, as well as Aldus' involvement make a lot of sense. Poor, poor Nex and his sudden non-existence.

I've had this sneaking hunch for the longest time that Von Ness/Von Nebula is not the only member of the Wave I villains to have once been associated with Hero Factory. Most of the criminals of that era whom the Heroes arrest seem to hold some kind of personal record with Stormer, and seem well acquainted with his presence. I know that someone on DA did a strip a quite a while ago about Corroder's past with them(Which I've sadly never been able to refind), but to me Xplode was always the more likely candidate as he seems to have a particularly strong disliking for Stormer, and a deeper desire than the other secondary villains to see him downed. Granted, this is mainly for the purpose of establishing that Stormer is quite talented and has been at his post for a long time in the lives of young heroes and citizens alike, but it still struck me as an interesting turn of events that could have been exploited.

Secondly, the cool-headed portion of Splitface's two personalities was also a Hero. Here's where things get really murky in my own personal territory, more like fan fiction and less just straight theory.

I have this pet thought that once upon a dream, the 'Hero' side of who would become Splitface was a condescending and unpleasant, but outwardly popular team leader at Hero Factory. He had a tight-knit and talented team, but only about four of them, himself included, were ever recognized for their efforts. Amongst the forgotten was a lowly demolitions expert who, despite his knack for strategy and seeing the big picture, was constantly the butt of everyone's jokes due to his position. But with the rise of new up-and-comings such as Preston Stormer, the team was forced to share the spotlight and even work together with others. Actually run missions with rookies?! How humiliating! Or at least so thought the team leader. And what was worse yet- this 'Stormer' fellow actually took the time for the losers in the group. Meanwhile, the demolitions expert felt hopeful; here at last was someone who would listen and understand, someone who might be able to stand up for those crushed beneath the limelight. Things seemed to be looking up...

But a mission gone awry changed everything. The demolitions expert gave advice- the ground was too unstable, he said, and no one member of the party should go after the criminal without backup. The team leader, in his typical fashion, ignored this and ordered the demolitionist to plant explosives throughout an exposed quaza mining site that ran straight beneath the villain's lair.  Furthermore, he split up the team, which included the rookies Stormer and Von Ness, in order to comb the territory more effectively. He found the crook, a battle ensued in the lair's lab, where the combatants were surrounded by illegal chemicals and caged mutations of the local wildlife, and in the heat of things the leader ordered the explosives fired, thinking they were safely out of range and hoping that the sound would throw his quarry off. The demolitions expert, who had laid the charges with hopes of preventing another argument between them, but not anticipating their actual use, protested, climbing down into the mine to deactivate them. But a member of the team freshly returned followed the insistent cries of his leader, and activated the explosives, igniting the mine with the demolitionist still inside. The aftershock tremors shook through the unstable ground, and the lab was torn asunder, all of its chemicals and equipment enveloping Hero and villain alike. The two beings were merged, becoming Splitface. The demolitionist, meanwhile, unbeknownst to the crew, survived the subsequent fiery cavein and remained conscious long enough to see the team leave without him, without even bothering to search for him. I imagine one of the last conscious memories he retained was of a young Stormer simply walking away, without a glance in his direction. In the mine he lay, exposed for an uncalculated amount of time to the raw quaza and other elements lodged there, some of which bore naturally explosive properties. Gradually they warped his physical form, as well as his mind, and he too began to change. Crystals charged with unstable energy grew from his body, and, left alone in the dark with nothing but his anger and frustration to keep him company, he chose to blame Hero Factory and his former bastion of hope, Stormer, for all that had happened. Why did they do nothing to protect the lesser Heroes from the abuse they suffered beneath their peers? Why did no one even bother to search for his remains? How could Hero Factory, a beacon that shone outwardly for hope and good, be so deceptive and hypocritical of its own teachings within? When he at last did manage to gather his strength and crawl his way to the surface, he vowed to wipe out the cancerous plague that was Hero Factory, or at least be as big of a thorn in its side as he could manage. Taking the name Xplode as a mockery of all the cruel jokes at his expense, he outfitted himself with new armor and began a lasting reign of sabotage and thievery across the galaxy, earning a reputation as one of the most wanted criminals still roaming.  As he viewed Stormer as a sort of physical manifestation of the Factory's hidden evils, a broken promise tempting others with its lies, his acts became more of a personal vendetta against the Hero, and he sought to destroy him at every turn, partly as a demonstration, a cutting of one of the snake's many heads, and partly for personal revenge. Stormer, simply doing his duty, continued to suffer through it, simply bringing the maddened mutant to justice again, and again, and again...

Also, is it just me, or is Mister Makuro awfully prejudice about why he tosses someone out of the Factory? I mean, wanting to at least try to fit yourself with a quaza core, or chickening out in a major fight are not reasons to be labeled criminals and banished from the immediate galaxy. Sure, being discharged is one thing, but sent packing from the planet? Accepting bribes and being in on villainous schemes would surely be of much more merit than simply,"Oh. You messed up. Now I give you zee boot!" Because if some of these fan cannons are not true in one way or another, I'd also hazard a guess that Mister Makuro is not the wise, benevolent leader he seems to be. Tossing someone out into the far depths of space with a restraining order is not how to deal with psychological problems in your staff!

Ooh, really interesting ideas. I didn't know Splitface was half hero, but I guess in my headfanon there's no obvious connection between him and the other two former heroes. To edit my previous I guess, Von Ness must have been found out by Stormer, explaining his hatred of him. That might even have been a boost for Stormer's career, adding insult to injury.

Another thing: Black Phantom is no common criminal but a revolutionary extremist (and according to some, terrorist) who believes the HF Force's system of capturing criminals to be dealt with by the law systems of the worlds they protect is injust. He deliberately allowed himself to be captured embedded with anti-security systems head to foot in order to stage the Breakout, not realizing that he himself was set up by a greater foe of Hero Factory who used the Breakout as a distraction while the Evil Brains began taking over.

My own personal "headcannon" is basically the complete overwriting of most of the official canon--so it's more of a very opinionated "fix-fic", really. (That sort of thing is called "fix-fic", isn't it? I'm pretty sure I've heard it called that.) It started out pretty simple, but it's gradually gotten more and more continuity-laden over the years. At this point, it's probably best described as being something like the DCAU Justice League Unlimited, with the occasional dash of darker material.

Just a few examples of my many alterations:

--My siblings and I have expanded the cast quite a bit. Some of our original characters are just the later versions of Heroes we already had in an earlier set form (for instance, the Brain Attack versions of Furno and Stormer became Igor Bolt and Ian Tane, respectively, because we already had a Furno and a Stormer), but others are completely original MoCs (such as Grace Overdrive and Lauren Crossfire).

--We've attempted to flesh out everyone's personalities (and, particularly in the case of villains, their backstories) a bit more. One of my favorite examples of this is our Toxic Reapa, who was brainwashed by a cult, and now believes himself to be the physical manifestation of death. He also is technically called "the Reaper", but his Louisiana-ish accent leads several of the Heroes to deliberately mispronounce his name as "Reapa" just to goad him into losing his temper and getting careless. Which, now that I stop to think about it, is mood-whiplash of the highest order, but I suppose that could be said of most of my headcannon.

--The story is completely different, but all the best bits are all tangled up in continuity, and I am not about to try to translate that into something coherent.

Really, the core premise is pretty much the same as the official HF story--an organization of Heroes fighting loosely affiliated villains in a galaxy-scale sci-fi setting. All the big differences are in the particulars. I mentioned a few earlier, but I can't list them all in the time I have.

I guess we do have a central antagonist, since Witch Doctor seems to be behind a lot of the villainous activity--not everything, but a fair amount. But that's the only big change that could be considered a part of the premise.
