Last year at BrickFair Virginia, BZPower hosted a party featuring laser tag and delicious pizza open to members of the site. Everyone had tons of fun, so of course we wanted to do it again this year. Not willing to settle for merely doing the same thing again in 2014, we thought about what we could do to make it better, not just for the people at BrickFair, but for everyone on BZPower! With that in mind, I'm pleased to present BZPower's first crowdfunding campaign! Read on to see what we have planned!

I have added the option, for in-person pledge levels only, to pay via cash or check. You can either send your payment via the mail or pay in person at BrickFair.

 

If there is sufficient demand, we may open up the payment options for the online pledge levels as well.

Another question, though - when is the party actually happening? Monday again? I'll only be in VA for two or three of the five days, and I want to know if I'll be able to attend it.

Hmm... As much as I love interacting with BZP folk at Brickfair, I'm not that much of a party person, and depending on what stage of the BrickFair Emotional Rollercoaster I'm on at that point, the BZP party could be anywhere from a dream come true to a nightmare.

I might pledge, but at this point, I just don't know...

This is a really cool idea. I've gone ahead and pitched in $5.00 since I'm not in need of all those perks. As for the perk of having my name in the credits of videos, will this be my BZPower name or my real name? I'd prefer the latter if possible. Good luck towards the goal, BZP!

Question regarding the t-shirt: Is this a new design, or the same as the one from a couple years ago?

 

I ask because I've already got (and will be bringing) that shirt, but I'd most definitely spring for the shirt pledge level if there will be a brand new design for this year.

Todd has posted a preliminary schedule for BrickFair Virginia, and after looking through it, here are my thoughts on when we could have the party:

• Friday between 4PM and 5:30PM, maybe later but I'd like to avoid overlap with the Live Auction
• Friday between 7PM and 8:30PM, maybe start sooner so people have time to get back to check on their silent auction bids
• Saturday between 4:30PM and 7PM, depending on how long it runs this could overlap with Yard Sale 2, but Yard Sale 1 is on Thursday

Anyone have any thoughts? Does anyone remember how long we were there last year?

 

Of course, this is all pending on Shadowland having space for us during one or all of the times.

I'd much rather either the later Friday option, or Saturday, so as to avoid overlap with the Live Auction.

All of those work for me, but I feel like the Friday options would work better as the Yardsale is usually a popular event. But I know some people also like the auctions, so it's either/or. Getting it done before the Life Auction makes sense, seeing as the silence auction goes on after that too.

I was just looking for blocks of time that could be used. Like I said, I don't quite remember how long it lasted last time, but I feel like it was 1-1/2 to 2 hours.

We will send a note out to all the backers to determine what they would like to appear.

We do not have the bricks yet, as they have not been ordered. They will say "BZP Lasertag" in the same font used for the BZPower logo.

It's specified that the meals are at BrickFair only. In your case it would be a Skype call instead, saving him a plane trip.

Having someone's cellphone number does not mean you can have a conversation with them. If I had George Lucas' number, I'm pretty sure he'd hang up once he realized I was some random person who happened to be a fan.

 

Anyway, no one is making you donate anything. The levels are there so that people who want to help us have an awesome party and make more videos for our YouTube channel can do so. If you're not interested in that - fine. But there's no need to get angry about it.

I got my Backer stuff today.  Too bad I read things wrong originally, I thought the Set backer included a polybag.  But only included the laser brick, which is cool.  I just never had any of the old polybags.  :-(  I'll enjoy my old Barraki and Mahri sets though!

Sorry about that, I thought I made things pretty clear in the descriptions. Don't worry though! We still have a lot more Bionicle polybags, so there will be ample opportunities to get your hands on one in the future!
