If the Ignika never existed, well, long story short, Mata Nui would probably have died during the Matoran civil war that took place, cuz there'd be no way to heal him. As for the other question, if the Ignika didn't exist, then some other way probably would've been created by the Story Team to revive Mata Nui. The Vahi didn't exist for a long time (lol pun not intended ), even though Time was one of the three Legendary powers all along (at least from the start of the artificial protodermis). Other way around -- once they come into existence, you can't (basically) get rid of them safely. But you can safely just not make any to begin with. Ah, I actually wanted to say that these legendary powers are contained on the masks So for example, If one actually destroy the Vahi, the time on the universe would collapse. Maybe it would be like the lightstone charge-up things in the Codrex, although traveling there with even weakened Energy Storms could be really dangerous. However, the GBs probably would have had another power source ... and I'm thinking they may have used some whacky Energized Protodermis thing to make sure the robot didn't fail.
