Makuta Miras
Not quite sure if this should be here or in S&T, so forum leaders, whoever they may be, please feel free to move this if necessary. So, in the Original/Cancelled Storylines topic in S&T, someone said about how after 07, instead of Matoro sacrificing himself with the Ignika, the Inika were originally intended to do the whole Karda Nui battle arc thingy in order to save Mata Nui's life, and what I'm asking is, would you have preferred 08 to have the Inika again in different forms, or are you happy with the what we actually got? Here's the link to the aforementioned topic: http://www.bzpower.com/board/topic/13109-originalcancelled-storylines/
Aanchir
I'm happy with what we got, honestly. 2008 was one of my favorite story years. I'm sure I would have enjoyed it plenty if it had been another year of Jaller and his team and then one or more years of Toa Nuva, but no telling whether I'd enjoy it more or less. fishers64
I thought it was poetic to bring the Toa Nuva back. I thought it was a long time coming and made sense. Still, you can count me as not a fan of the Mistika sets that resulted. The Phantoka were pretty good, but the Mistika were just not a thing. Still, they probably would have made those ugly things even if the Inika/Mahri were involved. And having the Inika/Mahri back would have been contrived and bogged down the story still more. So I'm glad the Nuva came back in 2008. It was needed. Quote Hero Factory RPG | Bionicle Mafia XXIX: Storyline & Theories
Click
I agree that it was a better decision to bring the Nuva back. Without that, we wouldn't have had Matoro's sacrifice, the most emotional moment of the Bionicle story, and the year would just be yet another with the Inika. Two years in a row is fine. The Nuva were destined to awaken Mata Nui anyways, and it would be odd to change that last minute. Sure it was a little odd trying to get the Nuva there and the Inika back to Metru Nui (convenient teleportation all around, plus the odd Adaptive Armor as an excuse to get new forms), but I liked seeing them again. Wazdakka
I couldn't imagine anything else besides the return of our old friends, the Toa Nuva. Quote Steam Name: Toa Hahli Mahri. But yes - it was poetic, plus they actually fulfilled their destiny (unlike that fake reawakening at the end of Mask of Light). Quote BZPRPG Profile: Vesun. Subtlety is more powerful than strength. Toa Smoke Monster
I'm happy that the Toa Nuva returned for the Karda Nui saga. It was their destiny to awaken Mata Nui, so it would've been weird if the Toa Mahri woke him up instead of them. And besides, the Nuva returning allowed us to see their training with the OoMN in Bionicle Legends 10. Quote Everyone is one choice away from being the bad guy in another person's story. Sir Kohran
I'll never understand why Lego told us the Nuva would return after the Metru Nui flashback, only to have the Inika/Mahri shove them out of the promised spotlight, and then just when we'd sort of gotten used to that, have the Inika/Mahri shoved back out of the spotlight by the suddenly rather weird and ugly looking Nuva. I would've preferred one group or the other to have had all three years, really. Edited July 4, 2014 by Sir Kohran
