As inhabitants of the MU are half bionic half organic could and EMP wave shut them down? Also would it be posible for an inhabitand of bara magna to make a EMP then go on a killing spree agains People from the MU?

As long as there is one bionicle fan out there there is still hope for bionicle to return. Keep faith. Bionicle is amazing.

It's confirmed that MU beings don't run on electricity, so I don't think the would be any more vulnerable to EMPs that humans really. For things like the Vahki, I don't think we really know how they work, so maybe for them it would be a threat. But no, EMPs wouldn't really work.

It seems like MU inhabitants run on more exotic power sources. It's implied that actual "life energy" plays a part (the kind of energy the Ignika uses). I'd imagine they do have electricity in them, like humans, but not as a major feature, like humans.

It depends on how the brain works (we tend to theorize that is organic, but it isn't confirmed, and Greg has declined requests to specify), and things like the "audio receptors" and eyes. The confirmed non-organic parts are pistons and gears and joints and the like -- which is why they're called "biomechanical", not cybernetic. I think the ears/eyes are probably not electronic, and I personally go with the organic brain theory. So I'd think that's a no.

And possibly this very consideration might be precisely why the GBs opted for a biomechanical design instead of standard cybernetics.

Same answer, but that makes me think of a related question -- if SM implants did tend to be electronic. Which I have no idea.

Actually it's confirmed they use advanced clockwork type mechanisms. It's possible the power source might be affected, though, if it isn't from a protodermic power (but I suspect it is).

We have seen Matoran being shocked with electricity and survive, so no, they are not fried by electromagnetic pulses like computer parts would be. Judging by the way that poor guard in one of the Bohrok-Kal animations was shaking, however, they are still susceptible to involuntary muscle spasms like other organic beings are when shocked.

If anything, EMPs could potentially mess with the MU inhabitants' senses somewhat, maybe temporarily mess with their vision or hearing or disorient them, but it's very doubtful that they would have any major affect on them due to the fact that they're not electronic in nature.
