Onua is the wise Toa of Earth, while all the Toa Mata are the same age, she acts as an older sister and mentor to the other five. She is quiet, but beneath that is a mind that is always at work, when she does speak, everyone would do well to listen. Onua is kind and understanding, and while Pohatu is the heart of the Toa Mata, she is the mediator, she mends feuds and resolves arguments between the six toa. She is very protective of her Matoran, and will sometimes go to unreasonable lengths to not inconvenience them! Onua possesses great strength and durability, built to work underground in the most punishing of conditions. She can control the living dirt and plantlife directly, bending them to her will with ease. Her Toa Tools are directly integrated into her hands, great claws that can dig through anything that stands in her way!

(The moc here represents Onua as she appears in the Bionicle: Rebuild universe, hence her gender and any changes from “canon”.)

Gorgeous! I actually really like the combination of smooth pieces with the Pakari, and one of my main complaints about HF is the sleekness of the pieces as compared to Bionicle.

I'd say my only real complaint is her shoulders and how they seem unnaturally wide, and how the end of the piece(s?) you used for the shoulder part of the torso juts out and looks all spindly and lonely. Otherwise she's awesome. I really like her breasts and how they're tastefully added, making for a visible change without being overpowering.

I write stories, on occasion. Finishing them... yeah, uh. That's another thing entirely.

Avatar made with the Rayg Kit 2.5, and featuring Lilak, Toa of Lightning.

She is totally, totally not a shameless self-insert. Y'know, except for the part where she is. :D

Thank you very much! I feel that the Mata Masks are a good match for the smooth HF shells, it looks pretty good with Tahu and Lewa, and I hope it holds true for Pohatu, Gali and Kopaka since I haven't really had a chance to compare yet.

I actually agree with your complaint to a degree, I wanted them to be really wide, an by far the widest shoulders of the Toa Mata, but I admit it's made the bit between the arms and the torso just a bit spindly, I dunno if I can really fix that without changing a ton of stuff. As for the breasts, I gotta admit that was unintentional, since I probably won't have much in the way of boobplate for any of my Toa. I'm glad you like it though! =)

Although I appreciate the model and the time and effort put into it, Onua is

not a female. Switching genders on major BIONICLE characters is not a good idea and

should be considered before it happens to the rest of the mata.

Why isn't it a good idea? Please keep in mind this is not meant to be the same character as the "canon" Onua. Much in the same way that the Optimus Prime from G1 is not the same character as the OP from the movies. That goes for all of the Rebuild stuff.

Wow...

Just from the first look, I think that model is absolutely amazing. My only real gripe is the super thin connection between the arms and the body; it makes the model's shoulders look really unnatural. I love the exterior armor, it really makes the model look sleeker.

Are Onuw and Lewa the only ones you've built so far?

Thank you very much! The shoulder issue is probably my least favourite part of the design right now, I might have to go back and fix it before too long.

I've built Tahu, but she isn't finished and I need to Bricklink some pieces before I can finish her. Pohatu is almost entirely done but uses the Phantoka colors since I don't have enough brown for him right now. Once again, Bricklink! =V

Wow, you did a really good job at stylinging the armor, making Onua look very sleak. And the bulkiness totally works for her character. The claws are also a neat design. As echoes above, the skinny shoulder connection is the most jaring bit of the model, but it's kind of hard to fix that using the standard HF elements. Maybe you could squeeze some tires on to bulk it out... depending on if that's a technique you would use or not. :shrugs:

Either way, a great re-design of Onua. Can't wait to see the rest of the Toa team... I'm always a fan of good Toa Mata redesigns!

Thanks! I have been considering trying tires, but that's a building technique I don't really care to use myself, good suggestion, anyway!

I'm working hard on finishing the whole team! I've been working on Kopaka's skeleton today! =)

Really cool Toa! The shoulders, which many others have mentioned, are the only weakness. Just out of curiosity, are you going with Onua, Gali and Tahu being female while the other three are male? I ask because that's actually my personal preferred headcanon for gender-balanced Toa Mata.

That's exactly what I'm going for with Rebuild, glad you like the moc!
