Bionicle Return?

Yes but, unfortunately.. it honestly wouldn't be the same believe me, it would turn into something more kid friendly with a simple storyline, like Hero Factory for example. It wouldn't be this legendary (Que the symphony music) story we love, this almost, scary tale. "I think it's best that we keep Bionicle alive by just remembering it, and the nirvana that's come's with it".

Thanks Makuta Miras, I should have been here a long time ago, as I was a huge fan from the start even when they first came out back in 2001.

Lol on the YouTube part you said, but that reminds me, I have recently bought a BRAND NEW 8534 Toa Tahu Mata (My favorite Duh) and will be unboxing and building it at YouTube and post pictures for it on my DeviantArt page too :)

I agree. As a half cynic I believe that if lego brought bionicle back they would dumb it down to such a low level that all the people that are screaming for its return will be screaming for its exit.

You might not realize it, but the early BIONICLE storyline was VERY simple and kid-friendly. There were no character deaths prior to Mask of Light, and no permanent character deaths prior to Legends of Metru Nui. BIONICLE's first year had fewer named characters than Legends of Chima's first year, regardless of whether you're talking about the story media (28 named characters in 2001 BIONICLE story media; 42 or more in 2013 Legends of Chima story media) or the sets (18 named characters in 2001 BIONICLE sets, 30 in 2013 Legends of Chima sets). While the storyline was spread out across a lot of different media, that was one of the only especially complex things about it, and there were lots of useful online resources like the Lexicon to help keep track of who was who and what was what.

Ninjago is definitely kid-friendly, but it's not really all that much simpler than BIONICLE's storyline was in the early years. The tone ranges from lighthearted and humorous to dark and epic. A character was destroyed on-screen in its very first 44-minute TV special (Samukai, the ruler of the Underworld), and there are a number of other confirmed character deaths. It has had lots of great characterization and world-building. And did I mention that it's been wildly successful? It was the LEGO Group's strongest launch for a new product line of all time in 2011 (though it's possible subsequent themes like The LEGO Movie might have broken that record), and it's already looking at at least a six-year run, with new TV episodes confirmed for 2015 and a movie in development for 2016.

I think it's entirely possible for a revived BIONICLE to stick close to Ninjago's tone and storytelling style, especially since Ninjago has been such a knockout success. The assumption that a BIONICLE revival would be "like Hero Factory" ignores the diverse range of storytelling styles that the LEGO Group has demonstrated in recent years, many of which are not much different than BIONICLE's early storytelling style.

Aachir, yes exactly, very good way to explain, but to make things clear, it's the style that Lego is taking now, previously being something like Lego factory, and now this lego chima and ninjago trends (which I like sure -Lego Movie = Amazing) that if so be it, Bionicle would now turn into this style. Like Makuta Jester said, and my thoughts as well, same fans that keep bothering Lego to bring it back, would be "Screaming for it's exit".

Umm.. yah I'm new so I'm not sure how to reply to comment, hopefully you read this I guess.

I agree, some people will be bothered by any changes that are made, even small ones. But that's not something new to BIONICLE. BIONICLE has always had fans who preferred things "the old way", even before the theme ended. Whenever something in a franchise like BIONICLE changes, some people grumble about it, or even abandon the franchise entirely, while others just learn to adapt to the changes.

I think when BIONICLE comes back, there are going to be a lot of people in both camps. But there will also be a lot of NEW fans, who have never known BIONICLE to be different than it is now, and they will be there to provide some much-needed perspective and show that maybe things aren't so bad after all. I'm excited by the possibility, honestly.

BIONICLE in 2015 won't be the same as BIONICLE in 2010. We know that for certain. But BIONICLE in 2010 wasn't the same as BIONICLE in 2006. BIONICLE in 2005 wasn't the same as BIONICLE in 2001. The franchise and its fans have been through many changes. I think they can survive one more.

Aanchir, you are the one person who understands this :) great. There is allot I have to say, but I'll shorten it down, first of all, yes I just love the.. I guess the original story, and yes all through out till 2010 you said it wasn't the same, kept changing, but It WAS the same as in it continued from the story. Of course it always bothered me how the models changed, they used to be so beautiful but I still loved Bionicle either way, regardless of changes.

Anyway yah some might follow it again and some might leave out... this is a perfect example of Teen Titans, the original series was left out, and was brought back as Teen Titans Go! Big Changes! First people hated it, the fans, but then, me myself, I loved it lol it was genius, and it's actually funny.

But I still highly doubt that Bionicle will be back, unless I'm missing out on something we'll just have to wait and see what happens, and hope for the best.
