Some Elements too OP?

A skilled and corrupt Toa of Air would be terrifying. Ways they could kill you:

Vacuum out the air in your lungs

Force the dissolved gas in your blood out of solution if you're organic, like an extreme case of the bends

Manipulate air pressure to cause poisonous gases to form (this is possible)

Burst your lungs by increasing pressure inside them

Crush you with air pressure

Cut off the air flow around you and cook you with your own body heat

Use air currents to strip away all your body heat

And yes, explode you by lowering pressure.

Yeah, some of these elements are way OP and should never have been canonized. On the other hand, I'd say that Plasma is actually underpowered -- whereas you can do a lot with elemental control over fire or water, all you can really do with plasma is incinerate things (and possibly make high-tech television screens).

 

But in either case, these are the elements that we have to live with, if we're going to treat the canon as some sort of divine and infallible scripture. 

I disagree with this. Plasma can melt through solid rock, so it would take Avak to make a prison to contain you. A mentally focused shield of the stuff would stop all projectile weapons headed your way. A thought could destroy your opponent's armor and weapons.

 

It's not cheap. The price is that there is very little natural plasma, and it takes a lot of EE to maintain it, since the environment will naturally cool it down. 

 

Also, worth noting that out of those who have removed themselves from the Toa code, we have two Toa of Water, two (one now deceased) of Air, one of Iron and maybe one of Lightning. That's at least three of the most deadly elements when uninhibited right there. Lesovikk, Helryx, and Zaria are generally good guys, but the implications of Tuyet being let loose on a planet full of organic beings is terrifying.

Helryx and Tuyet are about to be killed be Velika's bomb though.

That would explain why Velika targeted them, since he wants to remove any wild cards to his plan.
