Matoro Zeliph
I've been browsing some LEGO MOCs on brickshelf lately, and the mocs that strike me the most are the ones that include special effects (such as glowing weapons, eyes, elemental, etc.). I was wondering if you're a MOCer who likes to enhance their pic of their creation. What software do you use to do that sort of thing? (Is it free?) VampireBohrok
I've always used photoshop, however I generally just use it for subtle colour editing, such as adding more contrast. I will say that I'm not much a fan of moc photographs covered in digital effects, because when I'm looking at your pictures I'm definitely more interested in seeing the quality of your moc, rather than to which degree you can paste fancy effects. Also, I've seen a good few examples of people attempting digital effects and failing, making the picture less appealing than it was before. That said, I don't mean to be all "don't add effects to your moc pictures ever" because really, it can be pretty fun. But it's usually just not relevant in the presentation of a moc. However, I am not that advanced to do crazy effects like other moc artists have done to their creations. That is why I was kind of wondering if there was a easier program that adds those touches easily for you. Thank you VampireBohrok for your opinion about the whole quality vs fancy artificial effects thing. I keep that in mind next time when I upload a moc montage on my YouTube channel, and on BZPower. *thinking to self* Hmm, maybe I need to think up better names for my mocs to be a bit more "out of this world" or something to get viewers attention, because I haven't really got any feedback in regarding to the mocs I have recently uploaded. I have to admit, the names are kind of generic. :/ Edited August 8, 2014 by Matoro1992 Quote My MOC galleries: YouTube-DeviantArt-Majhost-Brickshelf-(Avatar made by my sister, Hahli)
Pomegranate
I use Photoshop, mainly to compensate for color issues that result from taking pictures in my bright yellow room, and to enhance contrast and levels and resize and crop stuff so that, in the end, the MOC is clearer and more true to life rather than looking like a fuzzy mush of colors and lines. I never added special effects, but that sounds really fun and I'll be sure to do that next time Quote .
Sumiki
I occasionally play around with basic exposure/contrast stuff, but only slightly when I do. Quote avatar by Lady Kopaka
Heontris
Hm... Really I just use the photography stuff/video stuff I learned in school for how to light something up well so that it looks good in pictures. (Then again, I don't have a picture editing software really (except gimp), and I hate gimp.) Kanakalackin
Photoshop and Gimp are two popular programs. Playing around with the lighting and color balances of your camera also works.
