hafu Posted August 31, 2014 Share Posted August 31, 2014 (edited) So I've not really been involved with Bionicle for a long time but I found a bunch of my old sets in a box recently and it got me kinda nostalgic. Among those sets was a baggy of loose masks and I was wondering how much they were worth (also wondering what they're called, for some of them): Some of them I could get prices on (like the masks of time and the neon green one) but others I wasn't so sure on...I'm pretty sure the masks that came with sets (the masks of light and shadow and the infected haus) aren't anything special but I included them anyway. 55555 Posted August 31, 2014 Share Posted August 31, 2014 (edited) The Chrome Hau is the real winner of this group, it's tough to judge what it's worth but it's at least $20. The Infected Haus are actually pretty desirable these days, and are worth at least $8 each (IMO) if they're in good condition. The Gold Vahi is also worth a significant amount, and is less easily damaged than the Chrome Hau and the Infected Haus. The Copper Hunas aren't worth much of anything these days, maybe $2 each. The TNGM market crashed a long time ago, maybe $2 again. The Orange Vahi is worth a little more, $4 to $6. The Gold Avohkii is decent, hard to tell how much it's worth but something in the $3 to $5 range. The Sparkly Avohkii's are particularly hard to judge, I'd say maybe $3 each. I'm not up on my Misprint values, but the red ones are supposed to be worth more than other colors, so your Red Ruru might be $12. Dume's Kiril is pretty worthless, less than $1. The Kraahkan is $3 to $5. I know that the disk came in the McToran, but I have no clue what they sell for. They have some serious scratches on them...I suspect that drops their value a lot? Hau 1 Hau 2 The orange vahi has a line on it, but it came like that. Defect? The misprint has a scrape (!!!) on it... also included a shot of the back, if that makes a difference. Do these change any of the mask values? I would agree that the chrome Hau is the crown Jewel of that collection and is at least $15 USD. The other set masks can be attained with sets and are not really worth a lot like the Golden, and Sparkley Avohkii which are more in the $2 region. It would be worth browsing here:http://www.bricklink.com/browseList.asp?itemType=P&catString=235 Unfortunately, damaged items will make the value of those masks drop. I'd price them at $2 - $4It appears as though the Orange Vahi has a stress mark, which is quite common on plastic items with small bits on them.The Black/Red Kiril isn't a misprint. It came in the 2004 set Turaga Dume and Nihwak. However, that Red Ruru (the mask to the right of the Kiril in the main picture) is a misprint. The scratches are most likely play wear from getting dropped or thrown in a bin, which would cause the paint on the parts to rub off. It'll be a while before I get access to those so I'll make a new topic once I have them in bulk. Most of my collection is from the first few generations-- pre-MoL movie stuff. I also have a box FULL of the old comics that came with LEGO magazine but I can't guaranteed quality on those Those copper masks look really goodAre you interested? I can get better closeups.
