Hewkii & Macku

These reimaginings of Toa Hewkii and Macku were inspired by their rebuilt Mata Nui forms.

I needed some pieces from Hewkii for other projects, but I wanted to document and share these creations before deconstructing them.

These two figures are probably not my best work, but as always, feedback is welcome.

You know, despite some reservations about the lankiness, I really am drawn to the feet you did for Hewkii, I mean implementing those matoran feet into a more modern bionicle build, in a way that looks good, is a feat alone, so really good going there.

These are really nice, love the way you used pretty much all the pieces from the Hewkii Matoran set from 2003 and transformed it into a Toa sized Hewkii, this is really cool especially with the limited amount of brown and tan BIONICLE pieces there are around. Great job!

Interesting articulation, though it almost seems like Pohatu and Macku, given the size. That being said, I like the shoulders on both, though Macku's legs are rather oddly jointed. The one thing you could do easily is replace technic that doesn't fit in her color scheme - black and grey. You made the dark gray work for Hewkii though, which is sometimes hard to do.

First off, I'd like to thank everyone for their feedback, it's much appreciated. : )

In response to this particular post, this Hewkii is a my idea of him in a Toa form that was inspired by the color scheme and pieces of his rebuilt Matoran form, which is why he is so much taller then Macku. As for Macku's legs and the miss-colored Technic pieces, I agree that her legs look a bit odd and the black and grey on her back does look out of place. Since I'm working with a rather limited amount of parts at this time and I didn't have enough Technic pieces in the correct color, I had to make a few sacrifices in that department. : )

Both of these look okay. Machu is nice, but the transition from the torso to the legs looks kind of weird. The on Macku's back does look kind of out of place, but it doesn't really bother me since you can't see it from the front.

Hewkii's feet look interesting, especially since you were able to use the old Matoran feet. It almost looks like he is wearing boots. You did a good job making the color scheme work with the limited amount of parts available.

A nice use of pieces. I love seeing mocs like these cause you are forced to use a wide variety of pieces from over the years due to them being sparse in that colour. Hewkii looks great, a very original and fresh design. Macku is also well-built but I feel like her legs do look a little awkward. Regardless, excellent job!
