Okay, so after seeing a few old names that I recognised still here on the forums, I was thinking back to the various avatar, sig and display name jokes/fads that numerous people took part in. I can only really remember a few but there were a lot of them. One that I remember for sure that everybody had MLP avatars and names, I think that was maybe 2008. Another were the kanoka disk signature things that you had to collect, when the Metru Nui online game came out. So yeah, can anybody think of some, and help me to remember? Of course I also remember the disk collecting fad you mentioned because I was sort-of involved in it. I was a beta tester for the Metru Nui Online Game (MeNOL) and I helped out the game creators in the disk collecting campaign by being the first to get many of the disks and by acting all mysterious about it. -Gata 2 Quote - Gata Please don't use my avatar or signature without permission, thanks! That reminds me of the times that half the staff changed their names to wacky stuff. B6 was a shark one time, if memory serves. One of those ended up in talk about soda for some reason - I have no idea why. Yeah, that didn't make much sense...Oh right, I forgot about that one. I was Germanopaidogogophobia, which was a word I made up and I think it meant something like "fear of German teachers"? Honestly I don't really remember why I took that. It was during the last month of school in my life, though, it was probably because of that. I never got into it and after like 3 weeks it was gone so I hoped after 6 (7?) years you could maybe tell me what it was all about? I never got into it and after like 3 weeks it was gone so I hoped after 6 (7?) years you could maybe tell me what it was all about?Okay, so there were these flash banners people had in their signatures showing all the disks they had found. There were disks like a brick with a red disk, disks with short messages and way more motives than I can remember. You could collect new disks by clicking on them on other people's signatures. The fad was started by the makers of the fan-made Metru Nui Online Game and of course they could give themselves new disks which I was then the first to take but since they kept themselves in the shadows nobody actually saw their signatures. People soon noticed I was always the first to get new disks and then I revealed and the fad ended.
