King Joe
Out of curiosity, what is the reasoning behind not allowing people to link to other forum sites? Or sites with a commenting system? Wouldnt be nicer if you had a page that came up that warned someone they were leaving BZP? My Old comics, Of Hedgehogs and Lego Bricks - My Epic, Hero Factory: The Biosteel ChroniclesTrifecta! Just A Dot
Yeah, really. I want to link to videos for my BIONIBrawl on that video site everyone uses near daily, or link to the page on that one social networking site everyone knows about that I should at the very least be allowed to mention. Takuma Nuva
First, I recommend you read the BZPower Advertising Policy. Even alluding to forbidden sites is against the rules, so please stop, The Beninator. Now then, as for why, there are many reasons. One of the biggest being the commenting systems on those sites. We, the staff of BZPower, have no way to regulate those comments. The internet being what it is, there is a VERY high probability for foul language among other things in those comments that are not suitable for BZPower. Keep in mind, this site is intended to be safe for LEGO's target age group (think 8 year olds).Social Networking sites are not suitable for BZP, not only for the above reasons, but also because we are a fansite dedicated to a toyline. Sharing personal information like that is decidedly not suitable for this site.Wanna share a video? Try Vimeo or upload to Brickshelf. There ARE video sites that don't have commenting systems. It doesn't matter how popular a site is, that doesn't make it okay or safe.We are working on ways to make sharing links/videos easier and safer to do, but we currently don't have time to work on implementing such features, especially with the forums just coming back online and all the problems that brought up.@The Beninator Q&A is for questions and answers exclusively, not discussion. If you're not answering the question you should not be posting at all.
