Boidoh
I swear, in the Mata Nui Saga it kinda looks like the CCBS, especially the legs. 1 Quote Add me on 3DS: 0516-7750-0068Add me on Wii U: Boidoh "I am Lloyd Garmadon, son of Lord Garmadon." - Lloyd, Episode 4: Never Trust a Snake"I am Lloyd Garmadon, son of Lord Garmadon." - Lloyd, Episode 44: Corridor of EldersLike, Comment, And Subscribe for Nintendo Content - NinBoidoh
fishers64
Yep. In fact, I think that if a giant robot set would ever be done, it would be done using CCBS. 1 Quote Hero Factory RPG | Bionicle Mafia XXIX: Storyline & Theories
Endless Sea (Alaki Nuva)
...I have no idea what CCBS is. Also, which giant robots? The only stuff I can think of during the Mata Nui saga fitting that description would be the Exo-Toa, and they're not really that giant. Quote It is not for us to decide the fate of angels. Boidoh
The Exo-Toa weren't in the Mata Nui Saga. I'm talking about the voice acted chapter video blog thing. The robots I'm talking about are the Great Spirit and Prototype robots. CCBS - Character and Creature Building System I think... Its what HF uses. Zidonaro
I don't see anything legoish in Mata Nui. I think he looks more like a Gunpla than anything, especially his joints.

Zidonaro
Yeah, his legs looks like CCBS, probably just coincidence, tho a Mata Nui in CCBS would be cool.

No, man, that stuff was all in the Bara Magna chapter. The Mata Nui saga was back in 01-03. And last time I checked, Hero Factory used Technic parts like Bionicle did, unless that got renamed or something when I wasn't looking. And the Great Spirit robots didn't really look anything like stuff you'd find in a set- too cohesive and stuff. They kinda look like an unmasked Toa Mata to me, but that's about it. Element Lord of Milk
HF does use some technic parts, but they mainly use the Balljoint and shell system introduced in 2011, thus, it has a different name (CCBS stands for Character and Creature Building System, though I've also heard it called Ultrabuild) . Endless Sea (Alaki Nuva)
Huh. Never heard it called that before. It was always the Mata Nui Blog or something. So, what do we call the first three years, now that the old name's taken? Quote It is not for us to decide the fate of angels. doodleloot
Now that you mention it, the leg parts kind of do like CCBS shells. I'd say it's a mere coincidence though. Quote Hail Denmark
Aanchir
I guess, vaguely? It's closer aesthetically to the CCBS than it is to most BIONICLE armor, but really that's just because the CCBS has more solid, geometric armor shells than BIONICLE, which tended towards much more greebly and gappy part designs. Also, his joints don't particularly resemble either typical BIONICLE OR Hero Factory joints — if anything, they almost seem closer to the joints used for the Knights' Kingdom II constraction sets. I don't know if there's any LEGO building system that's truly ideal for building the Mata Nui robot. The best likeness might in fact be based on basic System or Technic, since those building systems allow you to create smooth, flat surfaces of a closely controlled size and shape. 1 Quote Latest MOC: PAIGE (Prototype Artificial Intelligence, Gynoid Expression)
Lyichir
Thank goodness, I thought I was the only one. While the robots don't necessarily look like they're made of existing CCBS parts, the shell and bone structure of the CCBS would work a lot better than traditional Bionicle parts if a scaled-down version of the Great Spirit Robot were ever to be made as a set (All you'd need are a few new limb shells, a torso shell, and a head). This is largely because Bionicle parts tended to have a more framework-like appearance, whereas the shells of the CCBS are more solid and could better suggest that a universe could be contained inside. Neither system would be able to easily grant you a perfect likeness, but all things considered the CCBS could get you a heck of a lot closer. 4 Quote Formerly Lyichir: Rachira of Influence Aanchir's and Meiko's brother
Tuuli
There is an online serial called "Mata Nui Saga" and it explains the past of the great spirit matanui and his future. You have been getting confused with the Chronicles arc, which was the adventures on the island of mata-nui.

Banana Gunz
Just because they resemble CCBS, doesn't mean it looks anything like it. The only things I see shared are the look of armor parts on a skeleton (but don't cover the entire parts, like the leg armor leaving a space in the back). Other than that the likeness is vague. It's like trying to compare a tomato to an apple. They're so close in description and yet just way too far from each other... Skrade
You know, I liked the Stars and all, but I think it would've been really cool if, instead of the Toa Mata Nui set, Lego went and did sets of the MU and Prototype Robots. Or, since they're pretty similar to each other, just do the MU Robot. I know Lego kind of rushed through the Stars, but I bet they could've thrown together at least one non-impulse set for 2010... But yeah, I see the 'bots as having CCBS for the arms and legs, but the torso and head are DEFINATELY still Technic. The torso looks so much like a Toa Mata body, having the spine column with a piston on either side. Quote Check out my sprite kit, the Nobelus Kit!
