Bohrok-Kal Identity Crisis.

Recommended Posts

My mind tends to wander sometimes and I come up with random questions, so bear with me haha :P

So we know about the Bohrok-Kal, and their "independent" Krana-kal, and that each one can use it's respective Bohrok to find the Bahrag. But I'm wondering, do the Krana-kal keep each other up to date on circumstances and events that each experience? Like say if a Za-Kal meets Kopaka, gets defeated and stolen from it's Bohrok then gets replaced by a Xa-Kal, would that Krana know about the Nuva, know the situations, the progress of the mission, etc? I know the Za can communicate telepathically so it's possible. Also, would the personality of the Bohrok-Kal change depending on which Krana-Kal is controlling them?

I thought it was confirmed that krana (and through extension krana-kal) actually controlled the Bohrok because they were the means the Bahrag used to give information to the machines, plus the machines are guided by those "brains" and while they can work without them, they're more or less directionless unless programmed otherwise.

I think the solution to this is the constant communication of the Bohrok hivemind. With every thought of each Krana-Kal, it automatically sends a signal to the other Krana-Kal, so they all think in concert.

It's also possible that the mind of each Bohrok Kal is spread across all six Kal Krana, which may explain why they have such high intelligence in the first place.

It must the the Krana Za's responsibility to do that, since their power is telepathy. They're the one's communicating from Bohrok to Bohrok, while the rest of the Krana are busy doing their other work.

I always saw the Swarm as a large hivemind that was always in communion with its fellows. The Bohrok-Kal in my mind were always just ... slightly more independent aspects of the hive. They had more individualism and the like, but they were still connected to the will of the Bahrag Queens.

Or I can just do this:   :P

7) Can the Krana-kal belonging to each shell communicate with each other

telepathically to tell them of past encounters and What's going on. Otherwise wouldn't the Krana-kal suddenly have no

idea what's going on once they change? Or does the Shell have some sort of Residual memory storage inbuilt?

7a) The Krana Za Kal has the ability to communicate telepathically, Does this allow for two way conversation, or must

both be wearing the Za?

7) I don't understand your question. What change are you referring to?

7a) It does allow for two-way conversation, because it can read the minds of the krana it communicates to.

7) The Changing between Krana-Kal in one of the shells.

7) I see what you're saying. My guess there is some rudimentary awareness stored in the primitive AI of the Bohrok

itself.

Anyways, can a Bohrok Kal function without the Krana Kal?

No, Bohrok-Kal are artificial life just like Bohrok are. They still need their krana-kal as a "driver."

5.can the krana talk?

No, but the krana-kal are able to communicate telepathically.

I have a question thats been bugging me.  In comic#11 when Pohatu Nuva and Ouna Nuva remove the Krana-Kal from Tahnok-Kal, Tahnok-Kal's Krana-Kal starts talking.  Is this because it is a Krana-Za-Kal, or is it always the Krana-Kal that's talking?

All krana-kal can communicate. It is part of what makes them different from standard krana.

Greg

5) Why are there 6 Bohrak-KAL and 8 Krana-KAL?

5) So the Bohrok-Kal can take full advantage of all the krana abilityies as needed.

* * *

 3) If the Bohrok-Kal have more than one krana, does that mean they have another personality per krana? If so, do they

have another memory per krana as well?

  3) No

3) Really? Then they share one consciousness in eight krana?

3) Krana-kal personalities don't differ all that widely, so there is really no difference in how one behaves with one

in as opposed to another.

ah so all of them are pretty much one entity then?

I reckon so...  quite weird how that was thought through lol I always assumed that the Krana-kal could talk anyways because their respective Bohrok suits talked as well, I just thought that it was the krana talking through the machines haha
