More Customize-able Profile Pages?

The title is fairly self explanatory. Would you like to see more colors and re-arrange-able parts on member profiles? I personally would love to see that, as it would make profiles a little more special and individual to each member.

 

Personally I feel like there would need to be a limit to keep profiles generally the same/similar, or else it's less of a general profile and more of a custom page. What do you all think? Vote in the poll above!

Kind of strange that this is a multiple-choice poll, but I'll roll with it.
 
I picked the second option because while I think it could be cool, I'm perfectly fine with the way things are now. Any work we do to improve or otherwise change features that are functional will delay much-needed changes to things that are dated.

I don't think adding cover photos would be a bad idea. Not hard to do either, so it wouldn't really take much time. Aside from that and maybe a few extra custom profile fields, I don't see need for any major changes. Profiles will be better in IPS4 anyway.

I voted for option 2. I don't really care if changes were made to them or not. If changes were made, I wouldn't mind too much. But I wouldn't be disappointed if they weren't changed either.

Option 2 for me. I mean yeah, it'd be cool if stuff was implemented, but I don't really care if it happens or not.

Option two. I hardly ever use my profile, and even if I did, I doubt I'd bother to change it (especially since I've been too lazy to change my blog theme in YEARS or create a custom avatar that represents me slightly better than Rainbow Dash building with Lego).

I think it would be cool. On a similar note, more Blog customization would be cool too.

Could be cool, though it'd be more effort to customise it so I wouldn't necessarily be jumping to use such a feature.

I selected Option 1 because, quite frankly, it would be cool, and that is what Option 1 implies.

That said, it's not necessary. I'd much rather see the front page actually get fixed/changed than profiles (which do not need changing or fixing).

I could live with some minor changes to the interface, such as having the comments be displayed on the profile itself rather than under a separate tab. A cover photo type thing would be fun- it would offer a not too complicated way of personalizing your profile.

It wouldn't really matter to me, but I would like any additions to the editing. I would also like if it was easier to edit.

yes please i want a mood indicator and the song i'm listening to and the food i last ate and also i want music to automatically play when you enter a member's page personally my music will be "my heart will go on" my celine dion because it reminds me of my mother so my vote is yes let's do it

But I agree with Voltex, it's not the highest priority thing for this site.

We used to have a "personal photo" feature before IPB nixed it. I'm not sure I want it back though.

Oh yes, the personal photo. It would be kinda cool to have it back, especially for people who change ther avatars often - that way they could still keep their profile pic the same thus be easier recogniseable. (I'd definitely love to see that back, if that's even possible)

Yes, that was certainly a benefit to having a distinction between the personal photo and the avatar. I know I always tried to keep my personal photo as something that I felt I would be okay with in the long run, allowing my avatars to change at the drop of a dime. Since they became the same, I have done my best to take avatar changes slowly, unless I've used the same avatar or a similar one before.

Would I like it if more customization were possible? Sure. But I don't think it should be a priority over something more important like the front page.
