Exo-Force Reference in Mech-Dragon set?

I noticed while putting together the Mech-Dragon set, one of the sticker panels seemed to display a picture of the split mountain from Exo-Force. The sticker and piece in question is applied on step 13 in the instruction book and can be seen on the dragon's left side. Can anyone confirm that it is in fact the Exo-Force mountain? Has anyone else noticed this? Are there any other references to other themes in Ninjago sets? Do you think it means anything or is it just an Easter Egg?

Now that I think about it, this year's Ninjago story actually resembles Exo-Force in a number of ways! Humans vs. Robots, using certain combat vehicles to duke it out, and the Sensei character getting captured by the robots and having the heroes try and save him.

But honestly, I'd call this an Easter egg. As much as I love Exo-Force, I have my doubts about the sticker on the dragon foreshadowing anything.

Oh my goodness, that is totally Sentai Mountain. Seeing as it is printed on a computer screen, and it is on the largest Nindroid force, it must mean they are watching Sentai Mountain closely. Perhaps they are in the same universe, and the Nindroids are actually the ones behind the robot's "malfunction!" We might see some crazy crossovers next year!

Jokes aside, it's probably just an Easter egg to bring the fan's minds back to Exo-Force to notice the similarities. Maybe Lego hasn't forgotten Exo-Force's fanbase after all. :)

I don't have the set, and I didn't look at it close enough to see the stickers, but I've actually debated about buying the set, since I reminded me so much of Exo-Force. Actually, when I first saw the set, I thought it was an Exo-Force reboot.

I really love how Lego puts in all those little Easter Eggs. And though they're not necessary or particularly set changing important, they just add in that little something extra that reminds you the designers and company care and love Lego as much as we do.

I'm currently working on a Brick Theory about the timeline relation between Exo-Force and Ninjago, starting with this easter egg.

There's also the easter egg on the Salvage M.E.C in 2016, along with Galaxy Squad (the red F in a circle). https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=70592stk01a

In 2017, we got Sentai Mountain again in the background of the Ronin poster. https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=70620stk01

In Ninjago City Docks, we have a "River Dragon" reference with Ha-Ya-To's symbol (sticker 22). https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=70657stk01
And oh look, ANOTHER Shadow of Ronin poster featuring Sentai Mountain: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=87079pb0984

And in Ninjago City Gardens, we have a Devastator minifigure recreated from a baby carrier piece since the original mold isn't produced anymore. https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?M=njo673#T=S&O={%22iconly%22:0}
