Reznas
^Link^ Notice the colors and elements of each of the four main ninjas in the Ninjago story line are each represented in the cover art and the chorus of the song. Here are the lyrics: By day we hide,By night we come alive. In stealth we fight,To keep the dark from the light. We work in the shadows,We’re not average day heroes,We seek and we find,When something’s on the line. Fire lights up the sky,And thunder roars,Lightning electrifies us.Clouds pour sheets of ice,Onto the earth,The trees are blanketed with snow.Cause’ we’re elemental. -Windrider-
The highlight here is obviously the piano. The chord change at around 3:23 or 3:24 - you seem to switch to a major there - is unorthodox but it really just works, and that moment stood out for me because I'm a nerd. In fact, I really appreciate the entire bridge section. I really like this! The countdown at the beginning might be a bit cheesy, though in true Ninjago fashion, of course.

Yeah, I like using weird chord progressions. It's how I roll. Guess it's cause I'm a nerd too. Yeah, I decided I wanted to make the bridge special and different from the rest of the piece (I didn't want it altogether different, just unifying). I'll be honest and say that the vocals aren't completely spot on despite what most have told me elsewhere (perfectionist me speaking ). I might even try and rerecord some better vocals and edit my entry, because honestly, I initially wanted the piano and the vocals to stand out. Seems like I did pretty well piano-wise, but I've got a bit of work to do on the vocals...But hey, this is the first track I've ever produced with vocals, so... Thanks, Ryan! The countdown was a bit of an Easter egg actually. When I noticed the contest titled "Ninjas in Space" I instantly knew I had to tie space into it. At first, I tried some orchestral movement similar to that of the Planets Suite, kind of Star Wars-esque, but I decided against it in the end. Nevertheless, I left the countdown because it added a bit variety and awesomeness. -Rez Edited September 19, 2014 by Reznas
-Windrider-
I hadn't even considered that the countdown would be a tie-in to the topic title! I guess I appreciate it even more now. : PYou are a nerd, but that's okay. It seems the M&M entries don't get approval for edits after submission...but I have no problem with the vocals, really.

Actually, I took it up with Emzee, and it looks like it's okay to change a couple of the vocals. -Rez

Toa Smoke Monster
I just wanted to pop in and say that I really enjoyed this song. I love how the piano is used in it. In fact, I really like the whole thing. When I first heard it, I didn't like someone was singing in it, but as the song went on, I grew to like it along with the rest of the song. Great job on making this! P.S. Sorry if this isn't the best review of your song. The best thing I know in reviewing them is simply listening to them and going from there. 1 Quote Everyone is one choice away from being the bad guy in another person's story. I'm glad you liked it, and I'm also glad you ended up liking the vocals in the end! Nah, any feedback helps. This was actually very insightful. Thanks for the review! -Rez
Aanchir
This song is phenomenal on every level. I wish there was more beautiful fan-created music like this for Ninjago, BIONICLE, or LEGO in general. Will you be making it available for download anywhere? 1 Quote Latest MOC: PAIGE (Prototype Artificial Intelligence, Gynoid Expression)
