Mask of Creation Video

So I was wrong. Very, very wrong. It is the Mask of Creation, so sorry to anyone whom I may have come across to as very... cross about it.

But I'm actually quite okay with how wrong I was on this. :)

Those clips on the sides are intriguing. The current speculation is that the new masks will flip up and the heads will have faces.

This is, in my opinion, the most exciting thing about this video. If the masks attach like I think they do, they'll be able to attach to new heads, Brain Attack heads, standard Y-joints, and Hero Factory hands. In other words, they'll be incredibly versatile but will also allow for less alien-looking head pieces.

The mask itself looks great and all as well. But from a MOCist's perspective, these new attachment points hold all sorts of promise, and I can't wait to see more.

The Vahi can speed up time, right? If so, someone needs to use it so we can get to Comic Con.

Doubt we'd have the willpower to control the Vahi.

Next thing you know, it'll be knocked off your face and into the sea where it'd start killing all life around it because it got scratched slightly.

The thing that excites me is that it has runes like its orginal description: no need for story retcons. It's genuine.

Yes. I want to see where they're going with that, if nothing else. (Although IMO the mask looks ugly but I think that is sort of the point. :shrugs:

I find the little rail where the old masks' pin would have been rather interesting: the swiveling mask with the clips on the side seems more plausible, but maybe that rail is some sort of connector as well.

A rail? I didn't notice that. I guess it would form a stable connection with the front of the face and it would be very difficult to knock off.

I like to think the rail could be a place to slide in a front axle connection add-on for backwards compatibility.

I like the design of the Mask of Creation and I am grateful that LEGO have released this video of the Mask of Creation. The attachment points at the sides of the mask remind me of the visors of medieval knights' helmets, which will be an interesting technique for MOCs if utilised. The stand the Kanohi levitates over reminds me of a Toa Suva, and I look forward to learning more about the Mask of Creation's role in 2015 BIONICLE story.

Indeed, I remember that design from Knights Kingdom II. Hopefully it works out here (and does this mean we'll have a new face?)

Alright, look like we already seen the new spinnies for BZP Fourteen Birthday. Anyways, this looks great and it's not the Mask of Creation time to shine but I have a bad feeling that the new mask and heads are not going to be axle  :(

I have a theory about the video itself. I think that this teaser video is actually a clip from a larger trailer that will be revealed either at NYCC or sometime earlier on social media sites. From the way the footage looks, I think that it is possible for it to be a part of a promotional video that hasn't fully been released yet, possibly one that has the 2015 sets in it. Of course, I don't have any concrete proof to support my theory. But I really hope that it is.

Aw man, is that a didgeridoo in the background? I hope they go full Polynesian.

EDIT: Pretty impressive to me that they actually made it the Mask of Creation, and that it resembles the canon one so closely. This means either that the story team is paying attention to old canon material, or that the sets are being built with canon in mind. Plus, the runes are pretty exciting—new language? This might be the Agori writing that Matoran circle-script is based on. It would make sense for it to look more like an earth language, as this one does.

I agree, the description indeed very close. And Greg doesn't even acknowledge it. xD

My first thought when I saw the video yesterday was that, there is definitely no doubt on the amount of justice done to how the mask was described. It is definitely the most beautiful mask I have ever seen in all these years of being a fan.

I really hope that the fact that the design team apparently are going off the story description (that Mr. Farshtey apparently forgot about, lol) means that there will be some continuity to where we left off. Also hope Artakha himself will make an appearance, thought the fact the mask is not on his face is a little worrisome.

Think we'll see the Mask of Creation's powers in greater detail in 2015? Because I'd love to see the full extents of what it can really do.

I do too. I would really like to see this Mask's powers in action.

And I also really would like to see an actual set wear the mask too. I bet it will look great on of next years sets. :)

Calling it right now. Whoever wears the Mask of Creation becomes the next Artakha.

Very nifty! It is pretty intriguing how they're using the Mask of Creation as a central focus for this relaunch. I think LEGO is tactful enough to respect preexisting story and draw from it, but also for practical and business reasons they will likely keep this relaunch distant from the details and complex plots. I'm very curious how the Mask of Creation will tie these things together.

Also - I presume this means we'll get a canon name for Creation in the Matoran language! ;)
