No idea what these pieces are. I'm trying to build Krakua/buy pieces.

Here is a weird Z looking piece I don't know what it is:

It says I need 4...

It's a piece that has an axle hole on each side on the farther end (like you can see on the bottom left in that pic). The axle hole doesn't go all the way through.
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=2854 is what it be.
They haven't been used in any Bionicle sets, though they're used with pretty much every technic motor-piston assembly ever.

EDIT wow i took a while to find the piece, Kapura'd twice x.x

ALSO EDIT: Which part, the 12 bar or the long silver tube? the tube is http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=78c13

not really necessary, just an aesthetic addition. You could prolly use two more http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=41677 on the sides, and possibly not use the top two if you wanted.

There is no picture available for that but I assume this is the one: Pearl Light Gray Hose, Ribbed 7mm D. 13L

OK, now finally, the store I'm buying from has a limited supply of ball joints, what can replace those for the hands? http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/dinojohn/Krakua/krakua_instructions10.jpg

Where it connects the piece to the hand... The two ball joints and the axle. That thing. A HF piece maybe?

you could use a few of those flat ball joints that were introduced 2006ish if you need, otherwise i 'm not sure what all Hero Factory joints there may be that could work without modification of the upper arm..

You know, most of the time I need parts on Bricklink, I shop at two or three stores to get what I want. Just make a wishlist of the pets one store doesn't have, use the Find in Stores tab above the wishlist, select the correct wishlist, and then find the store that has the most of the parts for the cheapest price. I often mix and match parts from different stores to get better prices and find everything I need.

I already ordered parts from this one store before that hasn't shipped them yet for me, so I want to save on shipping...

you could also buy a skopio or a fenrakk for parts, those two are chock full of the flat ball joints :P
I've personally never bought individual pieces before, so I can't offer much advice as far as that goes :/

So after successfully finding all the parts to build Toa Krakua, a Toa of Sonics from a fan building contest, I figured I wanted to make more. So I went through the list of Dark Hunters, found the easiest to build, and now I need help with possible instructions or pieces. Thanks much for anyone who decides to help me out.

I chose three. Starting with the hardest is "Silence".

http://biosector01.com/wiki/index.php/File:Dark_Hunter_Silence.png

http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=139801

The middle one would be "Shadow Stealer".

http://biosector01.com/wiki/index.php/File:Dark_Hunter_Shadow_Stealer.png

And by far the easiest to build, would be Amphibax.

http://biosector01.com/wiki/index.php/File:Dark_Hunter_Amphibax.png

If anyone can help me with finding what parts are needed, or making instructions through LDD or something, that would be really nice. Thanks!

Man, every time I see something about the Dark Hunters posted I remember just how utterly terrible most of them were.

I'm not going to knock your rebuilding of them, if you really want to do that, but I've always been of the opinion that the models were ripe for revamping instead of recreating.

Dark Hunter Gallery

I built some of the Dark Hunters a couple of years ago, and built them accurately. (As far as I can tell.) They are long unbuilt, but I think some of the pictures will be useful for you if you plan on doing the same.

I have to agree with Sumiki, though, to be fair, these were before the hollow ball joint came about and revolutionized Bionicle MOCing, and some of them were not bad for their time (that being said, a lot of them I'm really surprised made it into the book, Shadow Stealer being a case in point). Feel free to rebuild, but I'd love to see some revamps. The Dark Hunters don't get much love.

The 1st Shadow gave some great pictures for Amphibax (I never realized how complicated his torso was), Shadow Stealer seems the simplest and not too bad to build. I did find the original gallery for Silence though: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=139801

EDIT: Kapura'd.

Shadow Stealer and Amphibax should be really easy, as nearly all of the parts are visible. Silence may be a little harder, though since parts are hidden. I'm sure won't need to buy any new parts, and if you do, I think it would be better to improvise and make them a little different than to buy parts to make these. (Seriously, unless you are going to build something like Miserix or the Tahtorak, you should just make do with what you have.)

I HATE SCORPIOS

That reminds me, I really should make Miserix!

So now.... Pieces help:

Amphibax

OK, I cannot recognise:

The head piece

The two weapons on the right hand(On my screen)

Is that a ripcord in his left hand?

Shadow Stealer:

Weapons, Tail weapon thing, and things on his head side.

The legs that attach to the kraata holders

Other than those, its all good.

EDIT: I think I won't do Silence again.

AMPHIBAX:

The head is a Nuva chestplate with a hand piece/y-joint attached to the back, and Bohrok eyes attached to the sides of that. It's really simple, actually.

Yes, it's a ripcord.

Lewa's Air Katana, one of the most abundant weapons in all of BIONICLE.

SHADOW STEALER:

Weapons--air katana again. The tail blades are Tahu's Magma Swords, and the things on the side of the heads are Matau's Aero Slicers.

The leg parts are Rahkshi thighs.

I'm not sure if this belongs here but I wanted to ask a question.

Greg said that the Barraki had their mutations reversed, so therefore, my Pridak set should perish into pieces, since it is no longer in its current canon form. I will end up remaining with pieces such as Pridak's head and his blades/spine. Does anybody know what I can do with this to make a canon figure? I was thinking the mutated Takea Sharks.

Well, he plans to build something, so maybe if he puts a picture in this topic then it could stay here? I'm not sure anyhow.

That's not how it works, you need to post a picture of your MOC with the topic. MOC questions have been made in the Bionicle Discussion forum before, and I believe that's where they belong.

You can also put it in your blog as all members have acess to it now.

With that said I think this should be either moved, or closed.

Whatever you want? :P

Maybe some type of Rahi? Idk Pridak's head is very awkward and clunky. You can use the rest of him for Takea though!

In the Toa Mahri mini-movie, the mutated Takea heads kinda looked like Pridak's one. So how exactly do I use his body for Takea? I know in the Barraki mini-movie he could swim by making his feet look like tail fins.

And it must be canon - of course.

Bah. I can just use Pridak's head as a replacement. Say the Takea ate too wildly and let his preys blood stain his face or something.

You could always use the head as an armor part or something. I'd imagine that color scheme would fit with Krika's. Maybe you could start there?
