The Skakdi Chronicler
So I was wondering, since the Hau is Mata nui's Symbol, that if he ever gained another toa like body, if He'd be wearing a Hau. I know that The mask of life created his first Toa body, and that he wore the mask of life, but that was under those circumstances, so what do you think? Toa Smoke Monster
I guess that would depend on the circumstances that he obtained a body to inhabit, and if that body would need a Kanohi Mask to function correctly. I would say that if he did get another Toa body, and a Hau was available for him to wear, I don't see why he wouldn't wear it. fishers64
I don't know why he wouldn't wear his Ignika. As long him and Ig are getting along, having that mask would be more powerful and useful. Unless he was worried about someone stealing it, but I think given the Ignika's power he could defend it against thieves. Archon~
I could maybe see the Ignika shapeshifting into a Hau shape, but that's as far as I would take it. Zatth
I don't necessarily think so. According to Biosector01, the Hau was his symbol as both the mask and MN were meant to protect. In that case, it seems more like a symbol. But yeah, if he ever wanted a Hau or a Kanohi to look like a Hau, I'm sure Iggy could totally morph into a Hau-shaped mask. I'm sure Mata Nui likes to keep it old school
TBK
I had wondered the same thing for a long time, but when I read Zatth's explanation, I was quite mind-blown. Hau = shielding = protecting = Mata Nui's role. It makes total sense now.
Nidhiki of the Shadows
Mata Nui only gained a Toa-like body because of the Ignika. Also he seems to like sleeping (I can understand that sentiment though). If he ever came back, he'd probably inhabit the Ignika once more. The Hau was just a symbol of his presence and what the citizens of the MU had to protect. -NotS

Bit since the Toa/Glatorian warriors have the protection of the Ateron peoples in hand, he'd likely only awake when a benevolent Great Being returns to Spheres Magna. Quote Elemental Rahi in Gen2, anyone? A write-up for an initial video for a G2 plot I really wish everyone would stop trying to play join the dots with Gen 1 and Gen 2 though,it seems there's a couple new threads everyday and often they're duplicates of already existing conversations! Or simply parallel them with a slightly new 'twist'! Gen 2 is NEW, it is NOT Gen 1 and it is NOT a continuation. Outside of the characters we already have I personally don't want to see ANY old characters return. I think it will cheapen the whole experience to those of us familiar with the original line... They just need to come out of hiding. Also, I thought Mata Nui was referring to some great crisis in his final speech, not a "Welcome this Great Being to Town" party. Ragnar Lothbrok
I imagine he could have morphed the Ignika into a Hau if he had wanted to. I mean the Ignika removed the Inika masks' sentience as well as completely change their power. I'm sure that he could simply change it's shape.
