Another MNOLG-Style Animation

Hey folks!

Perhaps some of you will recall my animation project. I'm still plugging away at it, and today I have a bit of new content to share.

Basically, I was planning to have this be the beginning of part 4, but upon reflection I've decided it fits better as the end of part 3. For technical reasons I cannot retroactively add it to part 3, so here it is as a separate part 3.5:

The preceding animations, should you wish to see them (fair warning, parts 1 and 2 aren't the greatest!), are in this Brickshelf folder.

believe victims. its actually not that hard, and youd look kind of bad if you were to, say, side with an abuser because theyre your friend

Thank you for your comments!

my only gripe is that Nuju and Matoro should really have their masks a 3/4 view when talking to Jaller. right now they look like they're staring straight at me and it's actually kind of eerie

I can see that. One of the rules that Templar seemed to generally follow in their animations was "have the characters' faces directed at the space between the character they are addressing and the camera," sort of in the spirit of what is done in theater. That's what I was trying to go for there. I actually did notice that it looked a little odd with them staring head-on at the camera, but I told myself, "it's the principle of it!".

"May Tahu protect you." :P Nice.

Nice work - the animation has a lot of long pauses and is a bit slow though. Could do with a mild framerate increase.

I get the too slow comment a lot - pacing these things is super tricky, especially considering different people read at different speeds. I tried to set things to a time that would allow not only reading the lines, but also fully absorbing them and their meaning.

Glad to see you are continuing to work on these. My only critiques are those that have already been mentioned. I was not particularly bothered by the head angles and thought Jala's walk looked pretty smooth. I would agree with those before me that it could be sped up a little, but you are continuing to accurately represent the aesthetics of the original MNOLG.

A Turaga

You are a very wise Turaga.

I was happy to first discover these gems on the Biomedia Project, and I'm thrilled that you're still making more! Your animation has its own distinct style but still feels like part of the MNOG world, a balance I enjoy very much. Any sneak peaks for us on what's in store in future installments?

Thank you! I suppose there's no harm in saying where the next animation will be taking place - Onu-Koro. If things proceed as planned at the moment, there will be a bigger focus on character interactions, so expect some fun with Taipu, Onepu etc interacting with the cast thus far.

As always, there's a very long time to go until the next animation is done, especially now that I've got college to work on. I couldn't give a potential time range for its completion, but it'll come eventually.
