Hapori Tohu Posted October 8, 2014 Share Posted October 8, 2014 Brickset reports that Universal Studios has officially announced that LEGO will be producing licensed sets to accompany the upcoming Jurassic World movie, due June 12, 2015. The LEGO sets will become available in May of next year. As Stephanie Sperber, Universal Partnerships & Licensing President puts it: "Jurassic Park defined dinosaurs for an entire generation 20 years ago, and Jurassic World will do the same in 2015. Working with LEGO Group to bring this classic into the present in dynamic and exciting ways is truly thrilling." We already sort of knew this was coming but it's good to have official confirmation. Always down for more dinosaurs, although the vehicles that will inevitably come with the line will be just as interesting. What I'm wondering is if the license is just for Jurassic World, or the franchise in general? Hopefully the latter so we can get some sets of stuff from the first film as well- I'd love to see the classic gate as well as some of the vehicles from The Lost World. Dark_Stranger Posted October 8, 2014 Share Posted October 8, 2014 I feel nothing even vaguely resembling excitement for the movie, but I'll wait to see what the sets are like before dismissing them completely. Kamen Rider Metus Posted October 9, 2014 Share Posted October 9, 2014 This announcement interests me because I've seen the first Jurrasic Park movie re-released in 3D. LEGO has provided me another reason to continue buying their toys since currently, I will only get any affordable The LEGO Movie sets which has Unikitty. But the sets are only good on how they are represented and how good the movie is, since films are a prime motivation to buy the toys.
